This is our first time visiting Flathead Lake, and unfortunately have no interest coming back. The pretentious, "you're a tourist, you're not welcome here" message was LOUD and clear at multiple restaurants in the area. The only exception was Showthyme. We walked in about 30 minutes before closing. The hostess greeted us with a smile and cleaned a table to make room for us. The food itself was outstanding! High quality ingredients and flavors meshed together perfectly. We had an excellent bottle of wine as well. The menu is a bit pricier but absolutely worth it.

Simple menu, great food. A bit pricy compared to other options around the lake, but worth it. Try the filet.

I have eaten at Showthyme for many years now and now that I've moved away from Bigfork, I have to say that Showthyme is the flavors of home. Chef Blu Funk is hands down one of the best chefs in Bigfork and ranks right up there in the entire state of Montana. He puts the passion he feels into his cooking and how he runs his business. Rose, his wife, is the hostess on most nights. She is an extremely lovely, sensible woman who really genuinely wants to please her patrons. She greets everyone with a smile, hug, handshake--this makes for an excellent run restaurant and wonderful first and last impression. This family run business is essential to any stop in the Flathead Valley. Blu and Rose employ outstanding staff, who know their food as well as their wine. Blu is an excellent businessman and the way he trains the staff here is evident from the way they present the specials every night to the professionalism they display even in a hairy situation. Blu makes sure the staff knows exactly what they are serving and how everything is prepared. This is much better than any other restaurant I've seen or even worked at personally. If they don't know how something is prepared, he makes sure they know and even taste it themselves before they hit the floor. The waitstaff can be commended again and again, not only for putting up with unruly customers, as I've witnessed, but also as a patron, you can ask them ANY question about anything on the menu and they know it. Ann is awesome this. Ask her what a coco nib is...I have no clue. But she does! And the girls in general can sell you on anything. The descriptions they give make you want to drool. This is a good thing, albeit a little embarrassing. Blu makes some of the best bread in town. It has the perfect mix of soft and crusty. Not an easy task. The hard part is not wanting to ask for more. Because you know you must save room for any of the wonderful dishes that swarm the menu. I have to say, although chefs HATE when you ask for special orders, generally Blu will do it. Just don't do it all the time, please. It's awfully annoying. You don't need to make amendments to his menu-it's already designed to perfection. Remember, you came to HIS restaurant and you came to order HIS food--the chef's--the one that knows better than you...and me. That being said, I have to tell you, I ordered the escargot appetizer that used to be on the menu years ago. So, despite my little plug for chefs around the world who hate it when you order something not on the menu-I admit I did it myself. Anywho, this escargot is just how I remembered it. Wholesome, fresh, dainty, but bold. These descriptor words could be used for most menu items. The tooth fish, the lamb, the duck...mmm the duck. I could go on. They are perfectly paired with some of the best accompaniments that you'll want more of. Sorry no refills. Oh and for starters, get the cold smoked salad, it's amazing. You will not be disappointed. Next is dessert. If you don't have room, do what I do and take it to go. Or have a dessert at the restaurant and take a second to go. Yes, I am guilty of that. But I will tell you that this is some of the best dessert anywhere. Three words: Sticky Toffee Pudding. There is nothing like it that I've had anywhere in the country. And I am one of those people who when I try something and love it, I'll try it all other places in search of the same rich, buttery, ooey, gooey flavor. I've never found it again. The only way that need is filled is here at Showthyme. From New York to Santa Fe, Seattle to LA. Forget it, Bigfork is where to find it. Leaves a small void in my palate when I think that I won't get to have more soon enough...but I must get back to reality. Also try the BEST ice cream/sorbet/custard in Bigfork from Blu. He's the Godfather in this regard. A new flavor is featured regularly, and you will not be left disappointed. Well, now I'm depressed, I won't be returning soon enough to have a Showthyme fix, so if you get the chance to go for me, please order something in my honor. And give the waitress Kim a hug from me.

The benchmark restaurant - all others are measured against Showthyme. Get the fish+curry, it's one of the best things I've eaten anywhere in the world. Period. One of the best restaurants in the state, hands down. Good meats and wine pairings as well. A must do while in Bigfork.

This was a great place for dinner. The beef steak tomato and mozzarella was good ( would have been even better with less white balsamic v. The traditional salmon was fantastic and the lack of lamb delectable. I Highly recommend this place if you are in the National Glacier Park region (we've ate at other restaurants in the region and this is the best place hands down).

If you are looking for more gourmet/creative food head here. It's definitely good, but you have to be in the mood for it. Their menu is one page and includes things like cedar baked salmon with capers and lemon dill aioli sauce, rack of lamb with a blueberry demi-glace, filet with a red wine reduction and bernaise butter. For an appetizer we got a shrimp and lobster quesidilla which was cooked perfectly. It wasn't overly stuffed with fillings so the cheese was able to melt. I didn't enjoy the salad, it was just lettuce with a sprinkle of cheese and balsamic dressing nor the slow wait staff. Note another reviewer notes it as dressy, it's Montana dressy, not truly dressy. So wear your nice jeans and opt for your good boots (not work boots).

Rebecca and I had dinner here last night. I am glad we did. We started with a mixed green salad with a lemon vinaigrette. It was dressed just right, not too much dressing. We paired it with a nice rose from Austria. It had a good balance of acid and fruit. The two went very well together. Although this place is known for its fish, we opted for meat. Rebecca, being a good Montana girl raised on beef, opted for the filet. The portion was just right, the reduction rich enough and the meat nicely tender. I am not a beef person, but my one bite told me I would have enjoyed this dish. I like lamb and ordered the chops; it came with eight of the little gems. It's reduction was also good, but a bit lighter than the filet. They were good; just right and I picked up each morsel with my fingers and gnawed with delight. Each dish came with green beans and small squash, cooked just right. While the mashed potatoes were good, I avoided them to save room for dessert. A bottle of Feather Cabernet Sauvignon washed down a wonderful meal. Of course we had dessert. My English style pudding came with a rich caramel sauce and ginger ice cream. My wife assured me the combination would work and she was right. Rebecca ordered the flourless chocolate cake; it was all it was advertised. Both were a great way to end the dinner. It has been a few years since we ate here and I am not sure why. We will not wait so long again. We wanted a special dinner and got it. If you want a very nice dinner, this is a fabulous place to spend some time with good food and conversation.

You never go wrong with Showthyme. Doesn't matter the season, service is good Good is excellent. Wine list varied in style and prices. I have probably been here 20 times and enjoyed each meal!'

I ended my 6-day trip to Glacier National Park, MT this last summer with a dinner at Showthyme and I'm GLAD I drove the extra 45 minutes to Bigfork. It has been 5 months since I ate there and my memory of their creamy tomato soup and their heavenly expresso-rubbed filet mignon still hasn't faded from my memory. That was the first time I truly tasted delicious tomato soup. It was a fantastic meal with great service and at a great price ($25 for filet mignon!!). This restaurant and all my other great dining experiences around G.N. Park almost made me want to move to Montana immediately!

Okay, yes I'm a tourist. And (gulp) a tourist from California to boot. So, perhaps you're not sure whether I can be trusted to review Showthyme? Well, wherever we're from our tourists' lament is the same; driving, driving, driving, enjoying sightseeing and at the end of a long day of cameras, lines of people, and maps sitting down to an unfortunate, expensive and mediocre meal. This is why somewhere around what seemed like mile 199,999 I yelped Bigfork and was delighted to spend my evening on a patio with great food, service and wine. YES! Nothing oily, cold, or bland. All quality ingredients, excellent flavor balance, and wonderful service. A breath of fresh air on a day I thought was already spent in Montana's great fresh air. In my case we ended a day that began with 25,000 of our closest friends standing at the deck of Lake Louise and 50,000 of our other closest friends wandering the streets of Banff. Although I appreciated the natural beauty of both and imagined them without the shocking number of tour buses, I yearned for exactly what Showthyme offers; a real meal done right. If you're looking for another Montana treasure, try Showthyme.

Excellent service, wonderful accommodations for vegetarians, delicious dipping sauce and salads! My clams were "meh." I find the somewhat comparable Scotty's Table in Missoula to be worth the higher cost, but felt my meal here was a bit overpriced for the quality. I would return to give it another try, however. Again, the service was outstanding.

Delicious dinner: lovely tomato salad & lamb chops!!

I first experienced Showthyme a few years ago on a trip to Montana. Now that I live in Helena my husband and I frequent Showthyme as often as we can! The food is always so amazing! I love how their menu changes as well, to me that shows that they care about seasonal ingredients. My favorite thing in the world there is their smoked romaine salad...I've never had anything like it before!! I have also had some of their amazing FRESH pasta with seafood, and it is really hard to say no to the filet..unless you'll have the duck! Too many amazing choices, make sure you save room for dessert!

Went to Montana this summer with a friend and spent a lot of time in Big Fork. Showthyme was good, but not amazing. I ordered the Brie salad, the lamb with blueberry compote and the toffee cake. I enjoyed the salad, but hated the blueberry compote, so I couldn't really enjoy my meal. The service was ok, but there was a little confusion about the porterhouse. Apparently, it's pork. Who knew? My friend didn't want pork, so he ordered the filet, which was delicious. All in all, the meal was pretty good.

The best restaurant in Bigfork a must if you're in town! Great food, great atmosphere and they always have a fantastic dinner special. The service is usually outstanding as well.

I'll preface this whole review by stating that the food here was incredible. But like Jeanni B's review stated; the service, and management were abysmal. Suffice it to say we waited 45mins for our entree, never got the chance to order a 2nd or 3rd bottle of wine, let alone desert or coffee. Our waitress never attempted an excuse, or a "sorry", and with that I did something I had never done before; I left a 10% tip. I'm a small business owner, and as such, appreciate any feedback, good or bad. With this in mind I stopped to offer what we had experienced to the woman/owner? who had seated us. Wow, talk about unpleasant; she flipped it all on the waitress and us! After this exchange we all started feeling bad for the waitress...until I got my Visa bill, and discovered that someone at the restaurant had added to my tip!! Visa is taking care of it from here.

Most fantastic restaurant in a most fantastic little city. If you're debating a special occasion dinner or need to wow a guest, don't hesitate.

My family and I have been patrons for 18 years! There is nowhere else anyone wants to go to eat but Showthyme for special occasions, and I add that any dining here IS a special occasion. The picture with this review is from my last birthday party. Our "world traveler" friends and family are wowed and say that they have not had finer food anywhere in their travels. The staff is great and capable whether we have a party of 15+ or an intimate table for 2. There is a nice range of prices and food to accommodate ones pocketbook and palate. The finest local and often organic ingredients go into the meals, from the several course dinners to the creative soups, entrées and WOW desserts. Bravo! Blu and Rose

Very ignorant hostess, frumpy older brunette was extremely rude and greeted us in a horrible manner, we had money to spend their loss. Will never go back

My wife and I owned a causual restaurant a few blocks from Showthyme for 5 years, whenever we wanted to indulge ourselves after closing our restaurant we enjoyed the wonderful food & service at the Showthyme.

I've been coming to Montana for my entire life and have eaten at most every restaurant south of Kalispell and north of Ronan. Showthyme! is not only my favorite, but the favorite of many members of my extended family. I made my most recent visit this past summer and, once again, had the best meal of my trip. Better than Many Springs, better than the Bigfork Inn, better than La Provence. Everything I had was delicious, including a killer salad, above average pesto fettuccine, and a TO-DIE-FOR flourless chocolate cake. We ate downstairs which was quite chilly. The waitress was not very helpful but very nice. Others in the party ate the crab salad (which came highly recommend from many people we talked to earlier in the week) and toothfish which were similarly excellent.

This is your best hope if you love fine dining. Bigfork is the city on a little bay! Great for special occasions or a night out pampering your self to a fine dinner. Dont overlook their desserts.
