Husband and I took our late honeymoon here and it's beautiful! Garden is amazing, just do a tick check if you sit in the grass. Had so much fun was so relaxing. The porches are beautiful and so much history at the house. Breakfast is nothing special, the muffins they give u Are yummy but it's just frozen breakfast stuff cooked and eggs. Place you must eat is walnut hill. Place to avoid is the biscuit company, It's gross. Hope to come back to cedar grove inn again. Had a great time. Tip, Vicksburg restraunts and shops are all pretty much closed Sunday and Mondays.

Sit in the sun room if you can it's a romantic place at dinner.

One of the two bed and breakfast mansion I visited in Vicksburg and also the better of the two. It came with a restaurant that smelled good, although I did not partake and a bar, which I did partake. The grounds and building were all exquisite, and the roof top had tables and a balcony for drinking and watching the sun set over the two rivers that pass nearby. Neither mansion was as close to the river as I would have liked, since there a couple of streets of houses in between.
I went a few months ago for the self-guided tour with a friend. Let me just say that the place is beautiful. However the lady at the desk, not so much. Now I understand that she has paying customers (hey, we paid too, $6 for the tour packet) to check in but it just felt like we were a bother to her. That was not very welcoming at all.

Cedar Grove Mansion Restaurant was a wonderful choice for our last dinner in Vicksburg. The staff were true ambassadors of Southern hospitality. Dinner was delicious, especially the seafood gumbo. The salad was simple and fresh with a homemade dressing. Catfish and fettuccine alfredo were well-prepared. A special order from one in our party was carefully and cheerfully accommodated. The brûlée cheesecake was served at the perfect temperature. Too often cheesecake is a freezing lump of cream cheese. Although we didn't stay in the inn, it is truly magnificent. I wish we had toured it.
