Delicious and reasonably priced Thai food. My wife and I just moved here from Chicago and we were worried about finding good Thai--now we aren't worried, and will go here whenever we get that craving. I had seafood panang curry and she had scallops red curry; both were fantastic, and our server was attentive and kind.

Just discovered this place--to my absolute delight! Had the veggie red curry with a glass of Thai iced tea. Excellent! Service was great, the place is warm, open, clean and not loud. (Thank God, because it's so hard to find a calm, quiet place to dine out and converse without shouting!) I'll definitely be going back.

Amazing quality food. Excellent customer service. Wonderful home like feeling. Very very authentic food. Need I say more? The owner is a true Buddhist monk and has been cooking since birth. These guys are great! 5 stars!

I live in a family of ardent Thai food lovers, so naturally we're pretty critical of it. I often make Thai food at home because for a time, you couldn't find in Tupelo. However, this place is a hole in the wall. A hidden gem. I don't understand why more people don't go! Then again, Tupelo is dominated with chains and safe places to dine. I ordered the chicken Thai fried rice and I was blown away at how delicious it was. Hot and fresh, seasoned very well. I'm definitely dragging my husband and brother here next time. I'm really eyeing their curries and Thai tea. I'll give it a try next time!

Very nice to have culture beyond chains and fast food in Tupelo. Tonight I had the Thai Mussels for an appetizer and Pad Thai for my entree. Decided to play it safe until I had a chance to see what I was dealing with. All in all, the food was wonderful. Perfect seasoning, flavor and portions were just right. Not stuffing you, not starving you, but definitely leaving you wanting more. It was great. The staff was very attentive, polite, and offered to explain any menu items, make suggestions, etc. They managed to do all this without being the kind of staff that catches you in the middle of a bite with a question. Everything was quite good. As I visit more and try more dishes, which I will, I may adjust to 5 stars. Please try it out so we don't lose this great cultural experience.

Average Thai food. The food was not flavorful. I don't doubt it's the best in town but its just not that great.

I must say, this is some of the most authentic Thai food you can get in this country. Red curry flavor is really good. Tung Yum Soup is just right. I can't believe I can find this in a small city. Will definitely visit again.

This place is serving top quality Thai food at reasonable prices a nondescript location on one of the main drags in Tupelo, MS. The spicy squid salad (Yum Pla Mok) is outstanding, the green and red curries are rich and flavorful, the Tom Yum is top notch. You just don't expect this quality of Thai food in the smaller cities of the deep south. The lunch specials are a terrific bargain as well. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and while it's a bit small, I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking for top quality Thai food at reasonable prices. I've eaten there 4 or 5 times and the service has been excellent each time.

WOW...Very impressed with the food here! Hands down one of the best Thai Restaurants I have ever eaten at and it's in Tupelo,MS of all places! I had the Tom Kha soup to start and it was a perfect broth (some places are heavy on the coconut milk others are heavy on the stock but it was perfect here). Then I had the Basil Entree with Mixed Seafood! Amazing...Mussels, Shrimp, Calamari, and Scallops all in one dish for $16...crazy!!! I love Thai food but authentic flavors/good quality is hard to find...Don't pass this place up!

This restaurant started off amazing but hasn't kept the sand standards since opening. I will not go back. Yes, the food is good. However, service is HORRIBLE and you have to ask for a simple glass of water 3 times.... when you're the only patron in the establishment. I've had a poor experience 2 out of 3 times I've eaten at Sao. I do not recommend this restaurant. Instead, check out the newer Thai restaurant in the shopping strip next to Kyoto- I know I will be from now on!

Unacceptably bad service. Also, the quality of the food has declined over time, as another reviewer stated. The kitchen also seems to have difficulty preparing dishes as described on the menu. I've never had an entree that included all of the ingredients promised on the menu. There are better choices in Tupelo for Thai food.

This place rocketed up to the BEST place to eat in Tupelo after the first visit. We split several plates with the Tofu Ginger and the Duck Panang being standouts. Fresh, expertly prepared, this small place is a real jewel.
