Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I normally love this place but if you ask for garlic butter you better check to make sure they actually gave you some. The last few times I got it, there was barely enough for one piece and the garlic butter is half the reason I order their pizza anyway. And the bottom of the pizza was almost to the point of being burnt.

Was looking for a local eatery to enjoy while bringing my daughter to school. This place is a must visit spot whenever in Starkville! The hand rolled pizza is amazing!

Stromboli's. It doesn't get much better. I absolutely LOVE their calzones. My favorite it the muffuletta. Also, the cookie notes for dessert is my favorite option!

Love the baked spaghetti. Good price for nice sized helping. Much better than the other Italian in downtown Starkville. Stromboli's tastes homemade, and it is. Want Italian. Eat here.

Love everything about this place. The atmosphere and food are amazing! I lived in Starkville for 2 years before discovering this gem, and I wish I would have found it sooner. The pizza is awesome, and the cookie dough bites are delicious! I always recommend Stromboli's to anyone looking for a good place to eat.

As someone said earlier, a college place in a college town, but a really good one. I find the stromboli to be their best item, followed by the calzone, and then by the pizza, but that is just a matter of preference. Others in my family would sort them in a different order. The cookie dough bites should be outlawed, because they are addictive. If you are looking for a nice, comfortably appointed pizza place, this isn't it. Again, you just have to take it for what it is - a college pizza place that is not particularly fancy. But in that category, it delivers great food.

Great place! It's a great hole-in-the-wall place. The pizza was great and the dough was super soft. The cheese sticks were also really good! The atmosphere is also unique and fun! Waiting on our cookie dough bites, which seem to be a staple here! I'm sure they will be just as good as the rest of the food!

I got a calzone and it came out raw and nasty. The cheese wasn't even melted. The waitress just said "I'm sorry".

Good food, great prices, and easy to get to location. This little restaurant and by little I mean tiny has about 10 tables total so come early for lunch. But, even with the small noisy space you won't be disappointed. Personally the best part is the dough they seem to have a wonderfully sweet dough that while soft and fluffy doesn't fall apart when picking up the calzone.

I visited this place after seeing a recommendation on another site. I'm not sure how I've lived here for so long without knowing about it, but it was very good. I had the Baked Ziti that was on special, and it was excellent. A great deal at $7 even for a large plate of ziti and garlic bread, with a 20oz soft drink. I will be back for more. I hear the pizzas and calzones are worth trying. Great atmosphere, even though I came during the "no-man's land" time of the afternoon. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Best pizza in town. Crust is awesome. Forget toppings. Just sauce and crust. Super friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere. Best of best. Very kid friendly.

This is a hidden treasure of Starkville! Their crust is everything!!! I could just order crust hold the toppings. Small little secret you would miss it if you did t know it was there. It's worth the hunt. With mismatch decor and writing on the walls. It's not just for college students, dine in with your family. The staff is always nice. They always have specials. The best is the 12' pizza for $8 everyday!

Despite the fact that it's been around for a while, Stromboli's still seems a little bit underground as restaurants go. Dining in on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night is a cozy experience, and that may be why it's not some peoples' first choice, especially with a larger group. But if you can get a table it's good food at decent prices from a friendly staff. The pizzas are a NY style that's different from everything else in town, and the atmosphere is something to experience. Highly recommended to visitors and locals alike.

Have to echo an earlier reviewer. Best pizza ever. This is definitely a college place in a college town and there's nothing wrong with that. Even though we were the oldest people in the restaurant by a long shot we felt comfortable and welcome. We ordered a half supreme half meat and it was delivered to our table so fast I couldn't believe it. If you like pizza you have to try this place.

Worst Italian place I have ever been to. I was shocked by how bad the food was. The food was just nasty! The service was awful and I have no idea how this place has so many people liking it.

This place gets a little overcrowded from time to time, but you can't blame people for eating here. Delicious calzones (breading is sweet, really tasty) and pasta dishes. Not wanting such an unhealthy meal? The chefs salad is cheap and pretty damn good. Tip: If the weather is good, sit out back in the unique dining area complete with a ski boat!

Stromboli's is a one of a kind place. The place is tiny with mismatched chairs, scrawls on the wall from floor to ceiling, and vinyl records lining the walls. The food is great and cheap. I'm not as big a fan of the pizza's as many others are but I love the calzones. The service isn't bad, even when it is slow they are always nice and helpful. If you visit Starkville and eat at only one place it should definitely be Stromboli's. I recently moved out of state but it is already on my list of places to go when I visit Mississippi.

Wonderful! Had a half and half pizza Ranchero/Alfonzo. Both were delicious but loved the Ranchero! Waitress was super sweet and owner treated us to cookie dough bites which were amazing.
(5)Matt D.
Great local restaurant, with amazing pizza and calzones. I suggest the Chicken Ranchero pizza, awesome. Of course you could go with just about anything on the menu and not be disappointed.
(5)Anna L.
I heard great things about this place but was pretty disappointed with their calzone - small and pretty greasy.
(3)L T.
The calzones are a little on the small side, but the marinara sauce is a-MAZ-ing. The lunch specials are a great deal!
(4)Jenn P.
GREAT pizza! Amazing staff and sweet owners! You will always be treated like a king! Specials are great deals, and you HAVE to try the cookie dough bites! Yummo!

Love the pizza here. Try the Alfonzo, it's great. The bread flowers and cookie dough bites are also very good. The main things that make strombolis unique are the atmosphere, service, and the dough. The atmosphere is very fun, since it is a small place pretty close to campus. The walls are covered with the signatures of thousands of bulldogs who have frequented this place over the years. The service is always friendly, prompt, and sincere. I've never seen the ultra-cheesy tip grubbing type here... Seems to be only local kids oozing southern charm and hospitality. Finally...the dough. It's warm, soft, and sweet. It takes their pizza to a whole other level. When our family goes out for pizza, it is always here.

Great lunch specials, nice sized portions, great service. Had a build your own 3-topping. Spinach, pepperoni, and mushroom. Quick, friendly service. Very good quality food. I'll go back.

This is a great business! I left my credit card at the restaurant, and before I had even noticed it was gone, the owner had tracked me down via Facebook and sent me a friend request so that he could send me a message that they had it. That's what I call superior customer service!

Short Version: Great food, sweet dough, sweet sauce, and plenty of cheese. Long version: We eat at Stromboli's almost every time we are in Starkville. My daughter is a student and this is one of her favorite places to eat. I've had the Stromboli, the Calzones, a few different pizzas, and the fried ravioli. Everything was tasty. They use a fairly sweet sauce, while I generally prefer a savory sauce, but it is still quite good. The basic Stromboli is a unique offering, it has a mixture of ground beef mixed with marinara, then pepperoni, and cheese. The beef mixture is a bit like a very thick beefy spaghetti sauce. The Stromboli on its own is a bit dry, but it is served with a container of marinara to dip it in. The sweet pizza dough on top rises a bit and is more bready than the crust on the edge of a pizza. The half is fairly large and the full Stromboli is a sufficient meal for all but the heartiest diner! The calzones are great. I've had the Old Main and the Boli Calzone. They are what you would expect from a calzone. They are stuffed full and very good. The ricotta cheese in the Old Main is a nice change from the usual calzone. Sauce for dipping is also available. One note here, my daughter ordered the Rotel Calzone and did not notice that it included jalapenos. This is tasty, but too spicy for some. It looked delicious to me, but her husband ate it! I intend to try this next time. The pizza is a very thin crust making this a bit of a "New York style" pizza. Over several different orders I've found the toppings and cheese plentiful. I prefer a bit more sauce on mine, but they also provide sauce for dipping. It has a very small dining room decorated with writing on the walls and the typical college dive feel. They do have a few tables outside in the front and a large covered patio with ceiling fans out back. So, the food is great, service is good unless they're packed which they frequently are, and it's not a fancy place. All I can say is that I will be back. Probably many times!

Strombolis is a neat little Italian place that isn't trying too hard. There's a patio and the service is great. I'm satisfied with the food, but I can't vouch for its authenticity. The indoor seating area is small but I've never not been able to be seated and served. Prices are good and they match the quality of food you are served. This is a "get in, get your food, and get out" type of joint, which I appreciate on my lunch break. There's beer and a lunch special every day that is actually a lunch special, as in priced below its normal amount. Overall, I salute the owner and manager for a great concept, well-executed and again, not trying too hard to be something other than a place you can get a good meal cooked and served by someone else. Thanks Strombolis, I'll definitely be back again and again.
