The oysters were small to med. in size, but the flavors were really good. The only complaint I had was that the Barnett oysters were cold compared to the others. Perhaps we should have ordered all the oysters seperately instead of all at the same time. We missed happy hour, but drink prices were good anyway... $2.25 draft and $4 wine.

One of my favorite places to hang out. Shucker's has a great mix of local flavor and is especially fun when Snazz is playing. We even went two nights in a row recently for drinks and dancing. There is a great outside covered area and pool tables in the back. The inside can get a little tight when it's hoppin but to me that's all part of the fun! The bartenders bust it out on busy nights and the Bushwackers and Walk Me Downs are two of my favorites.

A marina bar that serves food (or did someone already say that?) This is an honest bar where everybody knows your name, or should before the day is done since happy hour begins at 2PM. Friendly crowd, good service and interesting oyster combinations. We tried several plates; char grilled, steamed, and the Thomas (with Hollandaise & crabmeat). The Thomas was the best of the bunch. There ain't no wine list, honey. Our waitress gave us the "you really aren't from here" stare when I asked if they had a Sauvignon Blanc. They did have a Chard, however. It was a fun time and on their patio we learned how to truly listen from a gentleman named "Marty" at the next table.

Yuck! This place is just AWFUL. It took 1 hour and 50 minutes to get breakfast here on a Sunday morning. There were only 2 other tables when we sat down in the outdoor venue so not sure why it took them 25 minutes to get the breakfast menu. The drinks are gross. They taste like they haven't cleaned the tubing for soda's in a hundred years. The food for our table (only a party of two), didn't come out altogether, although it was consistently cold. Smokers were everywhere by the time we left so they don't enforce the City's Non-Smoking Ordinance. In forty years, this place is in my top five worst restaurants ever...EVER.

I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews on this place. I was brought here by a longtime friend who frequents this place often. The service was great and the lakefront scene was inviting, although it was fall and not summer, which I can imagine being muggy. Still, the open air atmosphere led to a memorable experience filled with sweet tea, shellfish and seafood, all of which were good, affordable and would warrant a return next time I'm in the neighborhood. We started with chargrilled oysters which were cooked well and tasted great. I had the red fish with black eyed peas and mashed sweet potatoes and enjoyed every bite. It rivaled many of the same dish I had in the New Orleans area and was much cheaper ($16 vs more than $25). The fish tasted fresh and was moist. I'm not sure how anyone could complain about their experience here. It's a great place to come with friends and have appetizers and a few drinks, lunch or dinner or to hang out with friends for a few hours. The view rivaled the food.

Rate this place a zero. I went there for my birthday dinner on last Monday. Our small group of six stood in the entry for at least five minutes with no employee in sight we finally were approached by a customer and she told us we might as well sit down where ever. We finally got a waiter. The drinks were terrible, oysters had broken shells cooked into them, service was scarce and very unprofessional. I wasted my time and money going there. Will never return or refer anyone there.

Shucker's was on our list of places to try last weekend while in Mississippi. As soon as we walked up onto the large spacious patio and saw two men setting up their guitars we knew we were in for a good afternoon. Our waitress was a sweet southern belle and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We ordered half a dozen raw oysters followed by the sampler of various oysters cooked in various ways. All of the food tasted delicious except for one BIG no-no. There was shell in more than half of the oysters that I was served. I understand that it happens from time to time, however if it happened more than half the time it's time to hire a new shucker. It was extremely disappointing. The atmosphere and service was great, the oyster shucker needs to be fired.

This place was busy when I went it. Really hard to get hold of anyone to order something. I wanted to have mojito or Stella they did not have those but the bartender was nice to recommend other things. All in all the bartender was very nice and very helpful to us so, 4 stars because of him and the live music.

Use to love this place. What happened? The staff is rude and not attentive to customers needs. The food and service get worse every time we go there. The flavor and seasoning is inconsistent so never know what you will end up with. Every time we go we swear we will never return. Today we were lured in with .25 oysters. They were terrible. We arrived at noon, well before the Sunday crowds pour in, and it took forever to even get a server to our table. 10 minutes before someone came to our table. Let me reiterate that they were not busy. The only other time we saw our server was when I ran her down to ask for refills on drinks and again when we asked for our bill. We were not given condiments for our food and our order was incorrect. This was the smallest tip I have ever left a server and I did not feel the least bit bad. My wife is a former server so we normally pride ourselves on tipping well. Not today though. I guess it's a good place for regulars to get drunk, other than that the place is garbage.

Shucker's is a great hang-out bar for 50+ classic rock fans. They also happen to be a very solid seafood/southern restaurant with lots of options, not just bar food. They have great lunch specials that come with dessert. Go to their website to see each days special. For $7.56 with tax you get a drink lunch entree, 2 sides, roll or cornbread & dessert. If you see blackened fried oysters & wished blackened fried shrimp was on the menu, just ask, they are amazingly agreeable. Lot's of Red Beans & Rice places through a slab of sausage on your overfull bowl for you to try to cut without sloshing out your beans. Just ask, and Shucker's will cut it for you. It's a great palce for raw oysters if you like those. They have a huge variety of appetizers, from rotel dip with chips, a nice sausage & cheese plate, fried pickles, to crab claws, redfish beignets, tamales & fried green tomatoes. The gumbo & red beans & rice is not bad at all.

This place looks like it might rock during the summer months, being outside of a marina and cabin/camping area. There is a pretty large outdoor seating area. The inside seating is also ample, but the inside looks primarily like a bar. There is a large rectangular bar with plenty of seating and flat screen TVs. Seating other than the bar is a mixture of regular and high boy tables. There are also at least two pool tables. We were pretty hungry when we got there and seated ourselves at the bar. The bartender was quick to take our order and suggested Grilled Mushroom appetizer and/or nachos when we told him how hungry we were. We elected for Grilled Mushrooms and Hot Tamales. Both were YUMM!

I really wanted baked/grilled oysters, so we decided to split an Oyster Sampler (3 ea. of Oysters Bienville, Parmesan, Rockefeller, and Barnett [shrimp and mozarella]); 6 Chargrilled Oysters; and 6 Black and Bleu (Baked in Blackened seasonings with Fresh Crumb Bleu Cheese).
