Good food, but a little expensive. I had the grouper. It was a very big filet, nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. It came with two sides. My boyfriend had the shrimp bucket. Lots of shrimp and potatoes and they were good. The atmosphere is very casual. The service was excellent.

If you wish upon a star....nope... the crab legs are still poor quality. If you're gonna actually put the word CRAB in the name of your restaurant, you better know how to cook one. I consider myself a semi-pro crab cracker and I did not even once have a piece of crab come out cleanly. Had to pick and prod, split the legs wide open and then STILL had to scrape the crab out. So disappointing to a Yelper who wants to be pleased...and is hoping and expecting to be pleased. Honestly, I'm not crabby. Food: D Atmosphere C- Service B+ Maybe if I got something besides the crab legs...but heck...it's CRAB's Seafood Shack. Others seemed happy with the Shrimp. I will update if I go again.

Crab's on Sunday! Nothing beats Crab's for superb seafood at a great price. My Dad always get's the sauteed Grouper, his wife gets grilled shrimp and my wife loved the grilled Redfish. I have tried something new every time. I always get the Crab Dip to get started. It is an amazing creamy crab dip topped with Parmesan Cheese served with crispy French Bread. In the past I have had Snow Crab, Stone Crab, Catfish and Grilled Shrimp. I personally recommend the Sauteed option on all, fried second and grilled last. The batter on the fried shrimp I had on my Po Boy this weekend was off the hook. Perfect flavor that did not overpower the shrimp. My large PoBoy was more than I could handle and ended up taking 1/2 of it home. Beer? They have it. A huge selection of imports and small breweries. The atmosphere is great. It is small, but the service is always great. My kids love it. The fries are shoestring. My favorite. They don't hold heat too well being so small, but the flavor is really nice. Overall, if you are looking for great food at a good price, check out Crab's. They have all-you-can-eat Snow Crab on Tuesday, but I have not ventured there for that yet. Stay tuned!

Had a smoked oyster app, and a "BBQ" shrimp app. The bartender advised me that it was not "BBQ" in the usual sense, rather a N'Orleans style garlic cream sauce. Both were awesome. Dont know that I'll ever be back in the area, but if I do, I'll look for Crabs again.

Not what it used to be. I am sad. Forgot our oysters completely and the last batch of crab was frozen on the end. Sigh! This was a favorite place for me and the hubby to sneak away for a few minutes and chill, but I think we will be finding a new hangout.

The food was bland and tasteless. I got the king crab and it was definitely not worth the price it was way too chewy and had no flavor. The only good thing about this restaurant was our server who was prompt and very friendly.

Went here after the Top of the Hops Beer Festival in Jackson. Overall this is a great place my wife got the Crab legs and I got the Shrimp bucket, really good quality sea food in a very southern/gulf feel to the place. Would recommend it as a good place to stop and grab some seafood if you are fit for a craving of great shrimp.

We love the seafood here . Very good fried catfish . Excellent service . Full bar . My only complaint is that the snow crabs are kinda small and not full . Like a poor quality grade crab . The boiled shrimp are very good .

My family and I went for the first time Saturday night. As we have children we try to go early to beat the crowd. Not here the crowd is or was an early crowd. We got there at 6:30 and there was a line but the wait was only about 20 minutes. Kids had the fried catfish dinner with fries and we had fried shrimp. You can get the fish or shrimp entrees grilled, sauteed or fried. Also you can get buckets of steamed shrimp but we went fried. I would give the food a C+ Atmosphere B Service B+ Cost C+/B Overall its a good place to go for seafood and we left at about 8 and they crowd had died down with a couple of tables available.

Good local fried seafood house. My friends love the oysters. To much fried food for me, but the boiled shrimp rocks!

Well we walk in to the restaurant this afternoon to no host or any staff in sight and go ahead and have a seat at the bar. After a few minutes the girl finally comes out and gets our drink order and gives us a menu. Once we order food everything was going pretty smooth until our food came out and she had put my order in wrong which really didn't bother me that much. I ate the whole plate and it was good. Not outstanding but for $8 I'm not expecting much. I could tell they are rebottling Heinz with off brand ketchup and while we were eating the so called "bartender" made a dirty martini that made me cringe. Not only did she not even put any effort into shaking the cocktail, but only moving shaker side to side in just enough speed to make the ice move but she also put dry and sweet vermouth in it with a ton of olive juice. I only rant because I work at a restaurant trying to help Jackson area get on the major food map and this was completely 2 steps back! I hope they check their reviews but I highly doubt it. I may be back because it is one of maybe 3 places to get crab and my girlfriend loves it, so I'm stuck but it definitely won't be for any other reason.

Went to Crab's for my wife's birthday since she wanted to get some oysters. This was our first time at Crab's and didn't know what to expect, but were we BLOWN AWAY! The hostess was polite and apologized for our 10 minute wait. Our server, Stefan, was the most professional, polite and personable server we have had since coming to Mississippi a year ago. He managed to check up on us frequently without hovering, inquired about our experience and our food and chatted with us a little bit while we were waiting for our food. We ordered the King crab for two with a starter of raw oysters and a side of scallops. The oysters were beautiful and fresh if a little small, but they tasted great. Our King crab came out and it was amazing. Nicely cooked and seasoned. Didn't need butter or anything to help with the flavor. Plus, they were as big around as my wrist. Not kidding at all, when they came out my wife and I were shocked. The scallops took a little while to come out, but when the server brought them out he explained that the first batch was a little overdone and they didn't want to sent out a bad product. When the scallops came out, they were definitely worth the wait! Perfectly seasoned and cooked just enough. As great as the food was, the service was definitely the highlight of our experience. Thanks Stefan!

I wanted so badly to like this place. But after about a half dozen visits, last night will be my last. If you go: 1) DON'T GET THE RAW OYSTERS. They don't know how to shuck them. They ALWAYS leave the oyster attached to the muscle and you end up having to finish their job for them. The poor oyster usually gets butchered in the process and the liquor in the shell gets spilled. They are served with horseradish and cocktail sauce but you will have to ask for the lemon. 2) DON'T GET ANYTHING FRIED. Apparently they don't understand the technique or the traditional recipes. Fried Soft Shell Crab is my favorite. Those they served me were coated in a thick heavy cornmeal breading (like on a corn dog). Everyone knows Soft Shell Crab should be lightly battered. And it was overcooked. One bite and I sent it back. NEVER BEFORE HAVE I SENT FOOD BACK. I asked for fried oysters instead. They arrived way undercooked and with a "doughy" taste. My table mates agreed. So I finished my sides and had a bite of my son's snow crab (tasty) and my dad's boiled shrimp (likewise tasty). They had no problem billing me in full for the undercooked oysters even though only three were half eaten. If you are not interested in raw oysters and you don't eat fried food then you may fare better than I. It must be pretty hard to screw up steamed and boiled food. I wanted to send this review to the owner(s) and chef(s) of the restaraunt and perhaps give them one more shot. But there is no email address for them on their website. There is a Facebook link but they have not edited it to provide contact info (not even their phone number). This tells me that they are not interested in feedback. So I am done. Goodbye Crab's

Great crab at a great price the new general manager is really doing great things

Crab's seafood is super tasty! I was craving raw oysters just a few nights ago, so my husband and I went to Crab's. I could not have been happier! The oysters were nice and cold and definitely hit the spot. We've had a couple different items on the menu including the burger and fries, a few different po boys, and snow crab. All of which were delicious! The interior could use a little updating, but the restaurant is always clean which is more important. Also the owner is a great guy! We enjoy getting a chance to say hello whenever he's there, and he always makes sure his customers are taken care of.

Maybe I came on a bad day, but I was pregnant and craving crab legs. The crab legs were small and I could tell they were not fresh. I was extremely dissapointed. The poboy was medicore and my husband said his burger was just ok.

Service was great, and they have tv's for watching sporting events. Not a place I would go for a nice date, but it works for casual. I ordered the footlong shrimp po' boy and was not disappointed. The shrimp were large and fried to perfection, and the bread was lightly toasted. Cons: 1) the po' boy is a little pricy ($11-$14) compared to places I've been to in New Orleans but for Ridgeland I guess it is reasonable. 2) the red potatoes were a little bland and undercooked.

Great place for crab legs and boiled shrimp in the Jackson metro area. We've dined here several times and the food and service has always been consistently good. Honestly, I've never had anything here other than boiled shrimp and crab legs, so I can't comment on other items. These have always been cooked right so they're easy to crack/peel. They are well seasoned, and the sides are good as well. I particularly like the crawfish boil style potatoes and corn on the cob. Tasty with just the right amount of seasoning!

We had the taste for boiled shrimp one Monday night while spending the night in Jackson, Ms. Strictly going on reviews written by others, we decided to try Crab's Seafood Shack. We arrived about 7:30 pm and from the moment we entered the restaurant, the staff was friendly, pleasant and personable. We ordered a Piña Colada and ask the bartender Anthony had he ever made a Blueberry-Lemon-Drop Martini. He said he had not, but would love to make one and see if we liked it. It was wonderful!!!! We've had several restaurants try to make one, but they just could not get it right. Anthony, got it perfect the first time. We ordered the "Bucket of Shrimp For 1" and it was the perfect amount for the two of us. The shrimp were steamed to perfection, their size and taste were wonderful. The table next to us had a fried shrimp salad, it looked delicious too. My friend is taking chemo and we always make sure a place is "super" clean before we decide to eat due to him having a low immune system. This place was very clean. If you choose to give this place a try you won't be disappointed.

Garbage , salad was two days older than my compost and seafood had been in the freezer way too long
(1)MJ M.
The burgers are dry. The fries are old but the beer is cold. If you are coming here for crab or shrimp...cool. If you are looking for quality service or tasty food, go elsewhere. Also, if you have allergies to shrimp (but you are not allergic to any other shellfish) they do not make any accommodations.

Google led us here looking for another crab shack. Thank you Google! We split an order of shrimp and grits and a crab plate. Probably the best crab legs I've ever had. Will definitely be back!

Went for lunch the first time for lunch today, and I was thoroughly impressed. Had the blackened mahi mahi with red potatoes, and it was awesome. Great seasoning and cooked perfectly with a hefty portion to boot. Great service and fair pricing as well. I'll absolutely be back.

I hear this place can get pretty crowded, but we've never had a wait for a table. Then again, we've never been on a Friday or Saturday night either. The dungeness crab is excellent and has a nice, sweet flavor. It comes with corn and potatoes - a very good portion of potatoes, more than I can eat. The boiled shrimp are also very good and they are a nice size. Decent prices on everything. I've always had exceptional service here. Servers are smiling, friendly, and attentive. When in Jackson and craving crab, this is the place I head every time.

Fresh oysters and delicious po boys. Great service and comfortable atmosphere. Will definetly come back here next time I'm in Jackson.

We ate here this past weekend probably for the last time. We've come back several times since last reviewing and this place seems to be on a steady decline. DO NOT get the crab claws, double ( 3x?) battered so bad you can't make out the meat from the claw. Not really sure considering there was so little meat that I felt I was eating preate leftover claws. The only redeeming thing I seem to find at this restaurant seems to be the BBQ shrimp

My wife and I were headed to a MS braves game this past weekend and we love good seafood so we thought we may give this place a try. Needless to say, we probably won't be coming back. We were not greeted at the door when we arrived and the waitresses were arguing over who was gonna take care of our table. When we finally got to order our food, we ordered the fried crab claws and snow pieces. The crab claws were good and they have a good cocktail sauce to go with it. The Snow pieces on other hand, weren't that great. Had a few pieces that were decent and some that were not fresh at all. If u decide to order crab legs, be sure to get the clusters and not the pieces because ull get pieces that are so small that they don't have any meat at all after they've been cooked. So I'm giving this place two stars due to poor service and a major letdown on the food.

Food was good but the service was horrible. We were told after standing at the front to sit wherever we wanted so we did. We were given no menus or silverware. After a few minutes may re people came in and they were seated by a host or hostess and given menus. After sitting for about 15 minutes (we grabbed our own menus by this time) we were finally asked if we had been helped. By this time we knew what we wanted and ordered quickly. The food came fast but the server's visits to the table were few and far between. And when she showed up with the final check she was carrying a drink and apilled it all over the receipt booklet. Two stars for the good food and ecent prices but service turned me off from future visits.
