Diabetics at TGI Friday
If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.
Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:
Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

About TGI Friday
TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.
Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.

Favorite place to eat ribs in Jackson, delightful customer service & real southern charm at this restaurant Pecan pie is delicious too!

Great catfish! We were traveling through with our dog & they have an outdoor patio where he could sit with us.

I knew we'd found a good hole-in-the-wall when the line was out the door... Thanks Yelp! Three in our party had the rib platter and said they were amazing. I had a frisco burger and was expecting a "frisco burger" with thousand island, etc. (maybe that is a frisco melt?) and it was just a regular burger, but tasty nonetheless. Potato salad was fantastic - very relish-y. Skip the fries - they were run-of-the-mill. They must get mostly regulars because they expect you to know what you're doing & ordering really REALLY quick, so be prepared.

I was in town for work and found this place. I didn't expect such a variety. I hadn't had a muffaletta in a while so that's what I ordered. It was great! Not exactly like real deal Cajun but for the price a very tasty sandwich.

Continuing my cross country trek - dinner (take out) tonight. Service: polite, very helpful in helping me make my menu selections....truly service with a caring smile. I had the ribs - yum. Meaty, smokey goodness, nice rub, and a tangy sauce on the side. I also had the fried catfish filets.....perfect. Tender and flaky fish, light and crispy batter. One complaint: make your own tarter sauce to pair with this wonderful catfish, do not rely on a package of kraft tarter sauce. Cole slaw and potato salad were ok - nothing to rave over. I recommend a visit for the ribs and catfish!

Wanted authentic southern type food after a long roadtrip from ohio. We stopped in Pear, MS for the night and found Frisco Deli on yelp. Sister got a shrimp poboy, I got a cajun roast beef. Shrimp poboy was good - although I've had better. The cajun roast beef was just a plain roast beef with the cajun/honey dijon sauce on it. I got a combo with my sandwich for $6.99. this included a side and a drink. I got the potato salad which was alright. Too eggy for me. They have a variety of sauces lined up for you to grab and bring to your table. It wasn't labled but pretty sure one was a honey dijon and the other was a 'cajun' honey dijon.

They have the best ribs in the area. The daily lunch and dinner crowd is a sure sign that it's good food, fast! The chicken tenders and fish plates are very tasty and generous. Their honey mustard is almost spicy and is the best I've ever had.

Best ribs in Rankin Co. Generous and good catfish plate. If you wait too late they will run out of both and for good reason. Friendly staff. Happy folks who seem to enjoy their work. Up grading my rating due to consistently good food and friendly staff. Recently stopped in late and they were out of salads. Guy working the window stopped his end of shift work and made one up for me. Very nice.

This place was packed when I arrived so it's definitely a local favorite however, I was disappointed. I ordered the Reuben. They didn't grill it or cook it like every other restaurant I've been to. They microwaved it. The bread got soggy very fast. The taste was still good though.

This place is total joke. Food is junk, honestly if you have been here more than once you are an idiot.

I am a carpet bagger from Chicago - so I have had my fair share of submarine sandwiches, gyro's, pastrami, corned beef sandwiches, This place is a breath of fresh air, good menu! Whatever you want, BBQ ribs, chicken tenders, catfish dinners they have it. They do offer a fair amount of sandwiches and burgers. Their sandwiches come on Kaiser and Onion rolls, wheat or rye bread. They offer po-boy bread on request. Since New Orleans is practically our sister city, they do offer muffaletta's. Clean place, nice staff - one knock - terrible operating hours! Monday thru Friday 9am - 9pm. No Saturdays or Sundays!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant of all time. I could eat hear twice a day. If your a local you know all about it. If not its a most try. The freshest best quality food you will get anywhere.
(5)William C.
This was an average deli. The menu is very confusing and hard to decipher. The staff did not go out the way to help out with this either. The food was good and normal deli sandwich fair. The table settings appear to be direct from the 80s and very dated. If you are staying locally and want a local meal this is not bad.
(3)Baron M.
I like this place. They do a brisk business at lunch. You need to know what you want before you walk up to order, otherwise, you will start forming a line pretty fast. The times I have gone, I have had the catfish plate. It has always been plenty of food and I've never had a problem with it. The catfish is good, fairly thin cut (catfish needs to be this way!) and the sides are fine. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the fries are thin cut, which helps keep them crisp. My knock on the place, the reason it is getting 3 instead of 4 stars, is that I just haven't found anything that really made me feel it was out of the ordinary. The sauces, for me, are the highlight of the meal. I find that I dip my fries and catfish into one or two of them more often than not. You won't be disappointed with this place, but I don't think you will be blown away either. I will continue to eat here, it just won't be on the top of my list.
(3)David F.
Had the catfish plate. May be the best fried catfish I've ever had. Very good cole slaw, fries, and lemonade. Less than $9. Tricky to find but worth the effort. Give them a try.
(5)Erin P.
The service here and attitudes of the people working were spectacular! It was very fun. The Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich was good. I find it VERY hard to find a decent pork sandwich in Mississippi. I've been let down by Hickory Pit, Pig Shak, Old Timers and Smokey Mountain Grille. This is the first place I would actually go back to and it has given me new hope. The baked beans were a standout too and had a ton of flavor, if you like them sweet. The fries were thin cut, like McDonald's type fries, but better. They make a gyro that has the most buttery soft meat of any i've ever had (Let's not even mention Keifer's - chewy as sin.) Overall I would DEFINITELY go back and try the other things they have to offer.
