The fresh bread with olive oil was the perfect way to start our first experience at Old Venice Pizza. It was delicious. Victoria brought our drinks and took our order. Our pie was perfect. The mighty meaty with green olives had the right balance of crust, sauce, and toppings. It was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent and Victoria did her job thoroughly and efficiently. We will be back.

Never had anything bad from Old Venice. There are so many pizza options you definitely need to start out with half & half large pizzas just to check out all the flavors. All the pastas and sandwiches come in very generous portions, so take it easy on that complimentary focaccia bread and oil they bring while you're reading the menu!

I love the atmosphere at this place, but the food just isn't that good. The Dynamite Shrimp is real good, but everything else tastes cheap. Things are a little cramped inside. I like going here, but it's not for the food.

Bleh. My friends and I frequently go here for birthday dinners, celebratory dinners, etc. However, it isnt because we love the place. (Well, we dont hate it either. Its just convenient and has dinner options that everyone can tolerate) Service is okay, food was decent. After having celebrated 10+ events here, I was very surprised that this past visit, we were quickly told that there is a $10 holding fee for cakes, and there has always been one. HUH? I've NEVER been charged for you to hold my cake. After asking to speak to the manager, the waitress quickly retracted her statement and said that it would be waived. WHAT? After having read other reviews AFTER eating here this last visit, I am starting to wonder about those drips coming from the ceiling. Luckily, it landed on our arms and not our food... But i am sincerely hoping that it is not toilet water dripping from the ceiling

Oxford is a great town because it has all the traits of a college town, with some classy places to eat and drink as well. I was roaming the town center a couple of weeks ago looking for a place to eat that also had WiFi and where I could watch the Patriots-Jets game. Glad I chose Old Venice! The food is inexpensive and delicious. I had a heavenly crawfish and crab chowder with the most glorious rosemary ciabatta rolls. The bread was dense, flavorful and could have been a meal by itself. Definitely looking forward to stopping in again during my next visit.

My absolute favorite place in Oxford to eat. Everything is delicious. My kids love trying all of the different pizza combos. The service is always good and I've never had to wait for a table.

Priced reasonably and had good service. I had the a flatbread pizza for an app, which was very good, and the grilled chicken Caesar salad which was fine. They messed up my friends order but promptly took care of it when it was mentioned to the waiter. I thought the paper table cloth and crayons were a bit kiddish....but more of a side note than an actual complaint. Overall, I'd go back in the future.

My nephew and I randomly stopped by here after all day of touring the campus nearby. Kinda dark inside and it was a mid day around 2:00, almost bar scene-ish at first sight. But no big deal as we were starving' Ordered the caprese flat bread for appetizer and it was great! Then on to the deluxe pizza! We give it thumbs up! The crust was thin like we like it and the toppings hot and heavy. I hope to go back again soon.

I'm cannot fathom why this joint has so many lower reviews. Let me break it down: + Solid pizza for a decent price. + Excellent service from nice staff members. +They once let my friend and I commandeer a big table for large part of the day--4-5 hours at least--to hold an impromptu marathon writing/editing session (grad students, man, what can you). And the waiter had someone come in to the fix the wifi when we inquired about it.

The crawfish rolls are probably the best cajun appetizer in Oxford and the great white pizza is cheesy and delicious. They also have an awesome bar and do take out. I love Old Venice, it's one of my Oxford favorites!

Standard below the Mason-Dixon Line italian fare. As a child of Italian parents who spent all of my first 29 years in New York, Philadelphia or Rome - I am a bit of a pizza snob/aficionado. The fresh tomato on the margherita pie was a plus. Service was excellent -

Great service! Ordered the Chicken Tuscany pizza and it was heaven. Best pizza I've ever had. That balsamic drizzle... OMG! The place is small, but has an oldies nice look to it. A little stuffy inside though. Everything else was A+.

We were five in our group and were given delicious bread with oil. The bread was tasty but two buns insufficient for the group. The chowder and pizza were excellent. An order of lasagna tasted of bar b que sauce mixed with ketchup and was inedible. The fettucine was nice but the portion size too small even for the 90 pound cheerleader who ordered it. The server was reluctant and seemed irritated by us possibly because we seated ourselves as we didnt realize we were to wait to be seated. However, I have three teenage girls and dont allow eye rolls at home. I definately dont want them when i eat out. She was reasonably attentive which in this case was a pity as her body language put a damper on the enjoyment each time she approached us.

The service was fantastic! I got a pizza wich was cooked to perfection and the sauce was so good and my mom got eggplant Parmesan which was also amazing. She got spinach on the side and it was cooked in olive oil very well! I would definetaly recommend!

Old Venice is amazing! Best best best spinach and artichoke dip I've ever had, I can not say that enough! The crab and crawfish chowder also had an amazing flavor, it was different than most but sooo yummy! All the pizzas I've seen look amazing, but I haven't had the chance to try one yet! I have had the trausclaire pasta dish and the creole delight pasta dish. They were both very good, but I like the trausclaire way way more! I recommend the trausclaire if you want a little bit of southern edge to an Italian dish. It had crawfish and shrimp in it, and a pretty good amount! It's also easier to eat with the penne pasta and the flavor of the sauce was great! I hope my recommendations help! Also, if you're 18-20 years old, you're allowed to drink with a parents consent!

Sunday night dining options are always limited on the square. Our family looks forward to Old Venice pizza on Sunday nights. Usually we have a great experience. However, this Sunday it was horrible. While we were seated quickly, everything went downhill from there for our party of five. The drinks were late, the food was so slow and bad. We didn't receive silverware and we had to request everything multiple times! It was an awful experience. The only reason it doesn't get 1 star is because we felt it was an off night for the restaurant.

We ordered the Caprese flatbread and a small Great White pizza (Alfredo sauce, 4 cheeses and spinich). Our items had fresh ingredients and were cooked well. Both tasted good. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant was clean and had a nice ambiance.

We ordered food from here on 12.31.12. It was 9:35pm and past their 9pm delivery cut-off time. I called just to see if I stood a chance of them delivering to our room. They took my order and delivered it! What a pleasant surprise! A bit pricey but good. They get three and a half stars for food and four and a half stars for delivery. That makes four stars all together. Well done!
(4)
Rachel J.
Only giving four stars because we didn't know whether to seat ourselves or wait to be seated, but over all the food was really good. Pizza is definitely their specialty. When I took the first bite I could hear the pizza gods looking down and cheering. I recommend the Daddy Crawdaddy Pizza. It was very fresh and had a different flavor because there wasn't any pizza sauce on it.

Great pizza in a cool location, in an awesome building. Great atmosphere--definitely a popular place. We had a pepperoni and crawfish pizza and it was great. The calamari was good too. They do a good job managing huge crowds, and there' s a nice, dark bar upstairs.

When you are in Oxford, MS in search of a better place to eat than the usual stomach-bursting, hunger-beating, heart-burning fast foods that are the main staple of the college-going students, this - I'm told - was such a place. Because this place is situated right on the square, we decided to check it out. Well, for one thing, the view was nice. We sat on the top balcony outside the bar and had a good view of the square. Apparently not too many people know that you can sit on top at the bar, had a good view away from the crowd gathering on the bottom and still can order the full menu. We went there for lunch and since the bartender only had us to serve, I felt almost privileged - like personalized service. It was a bit of luck for us since we kinda stumbled on the bar stairway instead of using the standard business door that everyone else go in from. We ordered the Venice Trio (a combination of Mozzarella Fritti, Crawfish Roll and Dynamite Shrimp ) for starter. The only thing that tasted good was the Dynamite Shrimp, the rest - ehhhh, I've had better. the crawfish roll was wayyyy too saucy and cheesey to have any flavor of crawfish and the Mozarella Fritti? I think the deep-fired Mozarella cheese from Sonic would be on par. On to the main course, Margherita Pizza and Double Sausage Calzone. Since part of the name of the restaurant had the word "Pizzza" in it, I figured that I would be safe. Again, ehhhhhh, I've had better. The crust was way too too thick to be Margherita, and not enough tomatoes either. The Double Sausage calzone? it lived up to the name "Double" alright, I guess when you order anything "Double" you should expect a lot, and it sure didn't disappoint in that aspect. On other areas, such as taste? ehhhhh, I've had better. In conclusion, I guess for a small town like this, this restaurant sure beats Wendy's but don't get your hopes up too high when you come there expecting a great meal.

Ate dinner with my girlfriend and four friends on Friday night. Appetizers and drinks came out quickly, but so did the toilet water dripping from the ceiling near the front center of the dining room. At first I thought someone behind me spilled their ice water on me. I started to smell something that was a mix between dead fish and sh*t. Then I felt some more drops of water. This time I looked up and saw more water dripping from the ceiling near a light fixture. At this point I got up and notified the waitress and hostess, both of whom laughed and said "we will let the manager know". About 15 minutes later with toilet water still dripping from the ceiling, the manger came over and apologized. None of the employees admitted it was toilet sewage. Not that I needed it, but I got confirmation from a former waitress who was hanging out near the back bar. Some of our drinks were comped, as was my meal, but I don't plan on eating at Old Venice any time soon. The owner should pay to fix his pipes.

Bread with rosemary, served with olive oil and pepper: a bit on the greasy side, so-so. Margherita pizza: thick-crusted, with little tomato and basil, and topped with a layer of elastic American-style mozzarella. So-so. Roasted vegetable pizza with balsamic glaze: this had a decent thin crust, but the veggies were a bit undercooked. That alone would've been ok, but I didn't care for the balsamic vinegar poured on top--it was sharply sour and sweet, rather than nicely nuanced. I think I'd ask them to leave it out next time. Service: prompt, and pretty good. We had a sizeable group (11), and the waitress was kind enough to write up individual checks for everyone. She also was able to get me the veggie pizza without cheese--yes!

It's located in the ever popular Square in Oxford, so I'm sure they get a lot of business. The food was fine, but was missing that little something extra to make it different from other places I've been to with a similar motif and menu - like a special spice!

Good little casual italian/pizza place on the oxford square. pizzas come in one size, which is big enough for one person if you're pretty hungry, maybe 2 if not. Lots of interesting 'specialty' pies, but to me, the best item on the menu is the 'rasta pasta'. It's a delicious and unique dish with jerk chicken, peppers, and a great sauce that is creamy, spicy, and sweet all at once. Great stuff. Atmosphere is good and typical of what you'll find in Oxford, albeit with a few more pieces of generic Italian memorabilia/artwork

My girlfriend and I became addicted to this pizza during our stay in Oxford. What kept bringing us back was the Crawfish pizza. I believe it had cream cheese on it too. Sounds weird, but it was amazingly delicious! The place was nice and friendly too . . located near the City square.

This was a great pizza place a couple of years ago, but the last time I went back the pizza had shrunk and the price was the same! Otherwise the pizza is excellent, not any particular "Style (i.e. NY, Chicago, etc) just hand tossed with great toppings! I like the Roasted Veg with Balsamic the best, and the mushroom is great too!

When I was in college, I would frequent this place with either a group of friends or a date. It seems like the restaurant was always crowded, and for good reason. They have a great variety, accompanied by a great number of toppings. OVPC had a great crawfish pasta dish that I adored. Also, if you go for lunch, there is an affordable meal deal of two slices of the specialty pizza of the day and a salad. I can't wait to go back there!

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Also, if you go for lunch, there is an affordable meal deal of two slices of the specialty pizza of the day and a salad. I can't wait to go back there!
