Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.

Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
Yes, I'm reviewing an Applebee's. Yes, I am aware that I dined at an Applebee's. I was in Oxford, MS... what else is there?! The food at this Applebee's was like all other Applebee's food - typical and not terrible. However, the service. was. awful. AWFUL. It's like we didn't even have a waiter. It took 20 min to take our initial drink and food orders and then some person kept bringing us pop refills but actively refused to remove the empty glasses from the table. At one point, there were like 11 empty glasses littering our table and some guy just brining MORE AND MORE REFILLS. It was mind-boggling. Clientele = rednecks, at best. No good really comes from this Applebee's (or any Applebee's, for that matter) so avoid if you can. Go to some other chain restaurant on Jackson Ave. and enjoy yourself more.

Worst service ever!!! Ordered soup, and it took over 30 minutes to get the order. There were only 8 people in the restaurant at the time we were there. Hope you like nightclubs, because at 1:00 in the afternoon, we just about had to yell across the table at each other. Floor was dirty and wallpaper above my head was peeling off a good 12 inches. Glad I don't live in Oxford and have plenty of other choices for food.

Horrible food sticky tables and chairs. Our server was great. We ordered pasta which looked like noodles and and white water. Got a to go box and a bug fell out of it. The only good food was the cake and ice cream. Even the chips were stale. Skip Applebee's and go to Chilis , trust me your better off.

Well, because it was late and we were headed for long drive, and didn't want to face a night of starvation since restaurants close early in these parts, we stopped in. I just wanted something light but the first choice of tomato soup was out, so was my 2nd choice. I finally ordered the Mexican tortilla soup. When it arrived, it was a sad replica of the pic on the menu. I remarked, wheres the tortillas? It doesn't look like the pic. To which the server replied, it never looks like the pictures! She then inquired if she had nuked it warm enough and asked me to taste it. Is this "southern hospitality"?She then brought me some shredded tortilla which were so stale, they were unchewable, Others had pastas w chicken which were edible but salty. The waiter was nice but the food is barely passable. At least we didn't starve.

The bartenders there are the lone bright spot in this poorly managed and poorly staffed place. The food is cheap and decent but the service and management are as poor as can be.

Worst service ever!! Walked in ungreeted for 5 minutes, then once we got a table after 10 minutes in a virtual empty restaurant set without a service for 10 minutes until a server that just came on duty asked if we where waited on yet. Ordered a drink from the bar that no one was sitting at and they had to go outside to get the bartender away from one of his 5 or 6 cigarette breaks he had taken in an hour. Probably not be worst restaurant service I ever had in 44 years. Applebee's should close or fire the entire staff working on Sunday the 26th.

Only reason I am giving a star is just so I can write a review!! We got here around 4pm on a Wed. We stood & waited to be seated for about 10 minutes, at which the restaurant was about empty. Not a hostess nor employee is site! Needless to say, this Applebee's is poorly under staffed! And what staff they do have is lazy! Which seems to be the going thing in Oxford! The waitress took our drink order and was M.I.A for about 30 minutes! Our ticket was right at $60 and wasn't worth half that! The food seemed to be rubber. Which in my experience, it had been microwaved! Not to mention poorly proportioned! It took over an hour for our food to be served! From the time in to the time out , it took about 2 and half hours!! This place is disgusting! Dirty, sticky tables and the floors were horrible!! And please beware when going into the bathrooms! YUCK!!! I will try to post the pics I took! At least they did have hand soap, unlike IHOP!!!

This is the worst Applebee's I have ever been too. Kept having to get up and ask someone else for things we needed. We only saw our waitress once. The whole table ordered chicken tenders and onion rings. We all asked if there was an up charge for onion rings and the waitress replied no. When we got our bill there was a $5 upcharge for the nasty onion rings. Will NEVER be back.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
