To be fair, I gave this place 3 stars even though we were not able to eat there. In our quest to find someplace that was open past 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, we stumbled across Biscuits and Blues. We weren't that hungry but found nachos on their menu online before we drove over there. We got there and ordered said nachos only to find out that they were out of the cheese for their nachos. However, the restaurant where we DID eat said that we should have had the biscuits. Also, you would expect a place called biscuits and blues to have blues music playing. They had the radio playing but so low you could barely hear it. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

A real gem! So glad to find this place after we were turned away from the Carriage House because of a private function. The food was amazing - biscuits with apricot butter and grits! The resident kitty outside is quite the charmer - we will be back!

Good food good music. Po boy's good, but no fried pickles, best biscuits & apricot butter! YUMMY.

I had the oyster and spinach salad and the biscuits came with the meal. Great food but it is a bar with limited seating. I would eat here again if I came back this way.

After looking for brunch/breakfast places in Natchez this was the one we decided on based on proximity and reviews. I didn't quite match up to what I was hoping for. We arrived at open 11am on a Sunday. Were seated promptly and a drink order was taken. After going over the menu I found the brunch options in which there were only two. Catfish Trosclair or Grillades and Grits. Being from New Orleans, we can order these type of brunch/breakfast options anywhere, and so I opted with a soup and salad combination. The crawfish and corn bisque was hot and DELICIOUS! Great texture and deep, developed flavors. Salad was straightforward. Cold, crispy and just enough dressing. The utensils, which were kept in caddies on the table probably need a deep clean because the 3 butter knives I drew, each had sticky syrup or other food residue. I ended up just polishing a butter knife myself using my ice water and napkin. Waitstaff was a little detached and distracted. It's Sunday morning and there's not too much going on. If I were them, which I have been--I would have wanted to be somewhere else too. Overall, tasty and inexpensive. Would have like more options for breakfast on a Sunday morning.

So disappointed & really hate to give a non chain restaurant, with past history of good reviews, a negative review. However out of 6 well rounded foodies all we can say positive is the biscuits were good. Food was as far from fresh as possible....can, frozen, processed:( Waitress was in as bad mood as the food. Hope owners/managers take notice & pull this once great restaurant back on a positive track.

No frills kind of place. The biscuits were warm out of the oven and served with an apricot spread, which was interesting. I ordered the grilled catfish lunch with Mac, sweet potato casserole, and green beans. Everything tasted good but nothing was out of this world extraordinary. Service was quick but after mentioning I had never been there the waitress did not chime in on what their specialties or favorites were. Overall an okay experience.

We stopped in for a drink and a snack. Staff was friendly and quick. We had the large B&B sampler, which we should have ordered the small! There fried mushroom fell short but everything was hot and fresh.

Service was good. Biscuits were really good. Not an apricot fan. Buts thats just me. Would have prefered just butter for the biscuits. We had cheese sticks, they are what you get out of a grocery store freezer. Catfish Poboy... Yuck. Shrimp Poboy fair. Fries. ok. Do Not get the cold slaw.. tasted rotten. If You like fast food type food, this is the place for you. Will say the Beer was nice and cold! Will I go back? Not sure. Nice atmosphere. You can tell all the food comes off the Sysco Truck. Dipping sauces are the same containers you get from fast food restaraunts. they could at least open them and put in a bowl to make you think they are not run of the meal

This review is for the Biscuits and Blues in Natchez, MS. Best biscuits ever. As soon as we sat down, our waitress appeared wth a basket of piping hot biscuits- one for each of us. I have lived in the South for a long time, and have met many biscuis of many incarnations, and make a fair biscuit from scratch myself. These are, hands down, the best biscuits ever. If you have only eaten the canned abominations, you are in for a treat. If you've eaten biscuits made by the best, like my husband's grandmother, you are still in for a treat. Hassie B would even have been impressed by these buttery, crumbly delights. Beyond the biscuits, the service was prompt and friendly without being cloying, and a small error was corrected immediately. The beer was cold and interesting drafts were on tap. I liked the locally brewed Tin Roof Juke Joint IPA; my husband found the Amberbock more to his taste. We all ordered po'boys, and they were fine. The bread is something that you always worry about when trying a new po'boy place, but there are no worries here. The bread was just right. Otherwise, they were just fine- and benefitted from the addition of one of the interesting hot sauces on the table. The biscuits alone are worth the trip to Natchez. Don't be embarassed to order a basket as an appetizer.

I highly recommend this place! Warm biscuits and apricot butter were delivered to our table first thing and after several days on the road we were hoping for a meal with local flair. We found excellent food and excellent service here. Got a recommendation from a local and she was spot on. Our server brought extra coleslaw(our favorite) and had good suggestions to make our meal a memorable experience. Yum!

Stopped by for lunch while antiquing. Service was good. Food was ok. Nothing special, but nothing outta this world. My child said teh Buffalo salad was fantastic. I had the friend oyster salad (the one in Southern Living Magazine) and it was ok. No seasoning on the friend oysters. Dressing was homemade and tasty.

Reasonable priced, generous portions, good-tasting daily plate lunch. Catfish so light and crispy! Decadent crunch on sweet potato casserole. Melt-in-your-mouth hot biscuits brought to your table while you wait. The butter is seasoned and makes the biscuits even more delicious. Really friendly service; I tipped 30%.

This review is for lunch -- Quickly greeted and seated and the biscuits were absolutely outstanding! The apricot butter was homemade and a delicious topping. I couldn't resist the crawfish and mushroom beignet appetizer, which was featured in a Greg Iles novel "Th Quiet Game" -- the crawfish were plentiful and the portion most generous. The husband tried a cup of crawfish and corn chowder and he noted that they did not skimp on the crawfish in this dish either. The husband tried the grilled chicken salad with a side order of green beans. I had the grilled pork chop special with salad, green beans and sauteed squash. Food was piping hot when it arrived and seasoned quite nicely. Appreciated the ability to order non-fried vegetables! The restaurant was located downtown and had street parking. The location was perfect for an after lunch stroll to explore this charming town.

The seafood platter was skimpy in relation to the price. The oysters were good. The Eggplant Orleans was good. Overall not as good as we had hoped . I'm upping my review after ordering the steak ! The steak was one of the best I have ever eaten in a restaurant .

Eat there at least once a week during lunch. Great rib specials on Tuesday for a low price. Love the biscuits the make there too! Pretty great service and the wait for your food is perfect timing.

Great Biscuits with Apricot Jam. The brunette Server was terrific. Very friendly, very personable. Food was really good and the prices were fairly priced (moderate). We missed not having music that we thought would be a main attraction. NOT!

As a frequent traveler to New Orleans, perhaps my standards for a shrimp poboy were too high. But for $8.50 at Biscuits & Blues, I got fair deal. They bread was advertised as French bread, but it was some type of split top roll. It wasn't heavily bready, but still more doughy than the light angelic texture that is real French bread. The shrimp was of the pre-breaded frozen variety - what a let down...but hey, $8.50, right? The French fries that came with it were plentiful, but bland. Salt, pepper, and ketchup were my remedy for this. The fries were medium bodied. Not shoestring, all-crunch fries. Not thick potato-ey potato log fries either, but something in between - which is good by by me. Mine were slightly over cooked. Sigh. Only 8.50 though! The "free" biscuit appetizers with fruit-infused butter were really tasty. Free with the aforementioned $8.50 entree, this excellent free appetizer was a steal. Often times, there is a blues or folk singer performing in evening hours. So overall, B&B is worth checking out. Just don't expect 5 star food.

Biscuits and Blues was our favorite meal of the BP Road trip. We ate at lunch and both had the specials. I had three succulent smoked ribs with summer squash and field peas; the husband had smoked chicken with rice and gravy and greens. We started the meal with two biscuits and peach butter and everything that followed just got better. We were on a sweet tea kick and our needs were met. It sounds like the smoked dishes are the way to go from other Yelpers.

Ok food here, nothing special. Average biscuits, spinach salad with oysters was good, po boy was fair. Beignet was tough and chewy, crayfish topping was good but salty. At sphere was ok, didn't hear any blues while there. Service was fair, seemed not to care.

What a gem. The biscuits and apricot butter are a great little surprise, the chicken and or pork are fantastic and the sides just what you hope for.

I'll have an order of biscuits with apricot butter, please. Seriously, off the charts good. The only thing odd about this place is the fact that it's first come, first served. No one is there to take your name down if the place is full. So, you're kinda left hovering over tables, which is uncomfortable. The food and service was great!

The bf and I went here in our last night in Natchez. We were glad we did. We tried the crawfish nachos, muffuletta, gumbo, and grilled catfish poboy. Everything was very good. The service was good. It was a nice fun atmosphere. I have a huge food belly but it was totally worth it. And no we didn't eat everything although we sure tried. Oh yea the biscuits were goooood!

I stopped in here when I was in Natchez, and the crab-stuffed jalapeno poppers are one of the best things I've ever eaten. The biscuits were incredible as well. I remember that I really enjoyed my meal, but I can't remember what I ate because my mind was so blown by the poppers.

This was our third trip here in less than a year. We hoped it was going to be better. My wife got the shrimp PoBoy. It was overlooked popcorn shrimp. It was awful the worse she has ever had. The best thing about her dish were the fries. I got gumbo which was good. I would order this again. I also got red beans n rice. It was just ok. I've had much much better. The biscuits are always good and service was great.

I regretted going here, because I ate so many of their delicious biscuits! With the apricot butter they have, they are impossible to say no to! I have to say, I am very happy to have visited here while I was in town. Between, the biscuits, my appetizer, and my mine meal, I could not get enough. All of the food was extremely tasty. All of the workers there were incredibly friendly as well! If you come through Natchez, you will regret not coming here.

We've been putting going for one reason or another, but finally made it! Nice decor, beautiful bar, good service, reasonably priced food. Old school biscuits like haven't been seen in 60 years- so good! Ribs like Texas BBQ... rubbed & smoked. Chicken was like cousin Bubba's...overcooked and dry as a bone. Cole slaw average, mashed potatoes were saturated with garlic...couldn't finish. Baked beans were good like Bushes Baked Beans. So..... Will try again at a much later date.

We drove into Natchez around noon and starving, and came downtown to this quaint little restaurant. The crowd is full of locals, and I'm guessing regulars, as everyone greeted each other with hugs. Maybe its just a Southern thing? They had a chicken special going on that day, which looked awesome, but my friend and I weren't too hungry, so we decided to split a B&B platter, gumbo, and a po'boy. Everything was good and not too greasy, which is hard to find in the South. I'm excited to try their location back home in SF!

On a road trip from Austin, TX to our home state of Mississippi, we were in Natchez for a mid-afternoon lunch. Yelp had good things to say about Biscuits and Blues, so that's where we headed. We left disappointed. Lets walk though it... - Cold, greasy, biscuits. They would have been good if they were fresh. Even though they were bad, they were the best part of our meal. - Everything on the kids menu was fried. I noticed that they had a salad with grilled chicken strips on it, so I asked if we could get those a la carte for my 1 year old. They refused and offered no alternatives. Got a grilled cheese instead. Ridiculously greasy (this is coming from someone who was raised in the deep South) but OK. - I ordered the rib plate. Oh boy! They come, everything looks good, I take a bite, and... they're cold by the bone. They've been reheated, but not enough. I do understand the need to reheat BBQ when you're not cooking it on site, but you can't send half-cold food out to a customer. I call the waitress over and explain the situation. She takes it back to the kitchen, where they microwave the ribs again. When they come back they're tough, but by-God they're hot. Yuck. - My wife ordered the vegetarian po-boy (fried zucchini). It was mushy and overloaded with mayo. Yuck. - When I got the check, I was surprised to see I was expected to pay full price for my cold, then microwaved, then tough and microwaved, but very hot, ribs. I told the waitress I'd like some consideration, and she took it to the manager/owner who refused to reduce the tab. I'd seen her interact with another customer over a drink selection, and it wasn't pretty, so I decided to call it a loss, pay my tab, and get the hell out. Never again. This place is antithesis of all that is good Southern cooking. They're churning out over processed, greasy, microwaved, bland food as cheaply as possible. If you're from outside the state and passing through Natchez, please go somewhere else. I don't want you getting this taste in your mouth when Mississippi has such good food to offer!

very interesting place that has a lot of character. came here for lunch with a co-worker while traveling here for work. Staff is very friendly and the food is decent. You should try their biscuits and see what you think. They're definitely different, the fruit butter makes a huge difference. Also tried the blue and white chicken salad - meh .... wouldn't recommend it, try something else. Their chocolate bread pudding with melted frosting is divine, order a cup of coffee (black without milk) because you'll need it to wash this down and keep you awake afterwards.

I had the smoked combo plate. VERY good chicken and ribs. Friendly staff, especially on the busiest day of the year (balloon fest).

Gone there maybe four times when passing through town, don't think I'll stop by anymore. Went today hoping it was better than times before, not saying the shrimp poboy's aren't good but I have had better. What really disappointed me was their was NO BLUES playing, I love some blues; had rock playing. If I go somewhere that has the word Blues on the door I want to here blues.

The food, the music, the service ~~ everything deserves more than five stars. To begin, the biscuits and apricot butter are worth the trip to Natchez alone. We ordered the savory beignets as appetizers. They are delicious and could be a meal all by themselves. We also ordered the app sampler, and it was OK, but only OK. That was more than redeemed by the fabulous spinach salad topped with fried oysters and warm honey mustard dressing (as featured in Southern Living magazine.) Be sure to order this dish. The combination of flavors is sublime. And even though we were stuffed, I ordered the beignets stuffed with vanilla ice cream topped with pecan praline sauce for the table to share. It made some of us moan in delight. The blues were provided by singer Maggie Something-or-other, and I wish I could remember her last name because she was terrific. The entire night was perfect.

When we arrived on Friday night, there weren't any tables so we were seated at my favorite 'table', the bar. There we got to meet the bartender, waitresses and the owner. It's a great way to enjoy some wonderful food. We started with the crawfish nachos. Very good. My lady had the spinach salad with oysters and hot honey dijon dressing which was great and I had the Eggplant Orleans. This was a stack of nicely fried eggplant layered with grilled shrimp and a goat cheese {I think} sauce. This is served on a tomato coulis and four fried oysters. You can't beat it. The owner talked about sunday brunch which includes grillades and grits. The grits being jalepeno cheese grits and the grillades are pork. Wish I could hang around. This place is on short favorites for this trip. Why fly when you can drive and try new exciting restaurants like Biscuits and Blues....Oh and there was a blues singer there, and she was great too.

The biscuits are to die for and the apricot butter is from heaven. The food is great and the service is so good. The hours are wrong. It does not close at 2pm it is open all day and thank goodness it was I thought we would miss out. I loved this place

Good: Biscuits are really good per other reviews. Ribs were very good with the caveat that you like fairly dry, smoked, almost ham-like ribs vs the super fatty fall-off-the-bone type. Good beans. Coleslaw was too mayonnaise-yt for my taste but... SO's spinach salad and shrimp were also good. Staff was friendly although kitchen was a bit slow. Bad: No live music and no sign of there having been any recently. No "blues" music at all actually. Background music was the local radio station with (a lot of) ads included. A bit distracting and disappointing vs. the website and name. Also a lousy tap beer selection (watery mass market beer only, no local beers). Pretty weak bottled beer list overall. Not a lot of great food options in downtown Natchez and no regrets we went here vs. the other options - it was a perfectly good meal. But not much more than that.

Hello biscuits. I think I could eat 20. I was so close to smuggling them into my purse and making a run for it. While the biscuits are great, the butter is even better. Great snack while waiting for dinner. I ate a tasty shrimp po-boy--lightly battered shrimp, soft bread. Tasty. Good solid meal, nothing to get too excited about.

This place was just okay. The gumbo was gross. The catfish was just so so. Tried the app sampler and the mushrooms were good, the mini crab cakes were not so good, and the onion rings were like Hardee's. The biscuits were good, but I have had much better. Service was great though.

I'm in Natchez/Vidalia on business and this was the best meal I've had in the 3 days! The biscuits were great and in had the smoked chicken and smoked ribs combo...FANTASTIC! the atmosphere was nice and bright and the music was good (blues, of course)...if the places I've been this week the service was better and faster and more attentive and the prices were reasonable in an area that I'm amazed by high food prices! I highly recommend!!
