I'm from Texas and boy do I love burgers. I went by here yesterday and ordered the blues burger with the home style fries. The burger was okay was a decent size. I didn't really like the shredded lettuce they used. The fries were pretty good. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. The sourdough bun didn't really compliment the burger well. I also had the Georgia peach drink. That was very good. Slightly sour because it had sweet and sour in there. Overall it wasn't bad but it wasn't the best.

The restaurant was packed, but our service was great and the food was super tasty. We loved the ahi app!

First off, the service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. However, the food just wasn't good. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with homemade potato chips. The grilled chicken sandwich was so overcooked and dry that I had to tear pieces off like beef jerky to eat it. Meanwhile the potato chips were undercooked and soggy. Most everyone else in my party was disappointed in the taste of their meal too. The burgers received the same complaint about being tough that I had about my chicken, and one person even had to request new French fries after his came out cold. The one very satisfied person in our group ordered the Mahi sandwich, which may be the diamond in the rough here as the waitress mentioned it was her favorite item on the menu. Cool atmosphere, great service, but the food really needs improvement.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Jackson area. Literally everything I've had from the menu is delicious (because I keep going back), but their best dish is the shrimp and grits. It beats anything I've had in New Orleans. The fish is also seasoned perfectly. Love it!

Food, atmosphere, price- all great!!! Loved the place. Driving through from Baton Rouge was suggested by a friend. Will come back. Burger was perfect. Wife had fgt blt and she said best blt. Pulled pork nachos very god but could use a little more pork.

Red, white and blue salad was exceptional and my wife loved the goats cheese. Recommend as a filling lite dish.

Walked in with friendly staff greeting. Kind and attentive waitress. Amazing menu selection. Ordered the bayou catfish and my father ordered the blue plate special "boneless chicken with gravy." Side of turnip greens and fried tomatoes. Both amazing! Blew my mind with the quality of the plates. The catfish was fried to perfection. It was a meal that you wanted to continue to eat even though you were full. If I lived in Mississippi I would return.

I ate here with a group of over 30 softball players at 1:00 on a Saturday. The staff was very accommodating for such a large group. The food was very especially the home fries. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Food is awesome. Get the red beans and rice, also cabbage is fantastic. Sauteed zucchini n squash just right. Thought the fried green tomatoes were over breaded. Service is good

I just really enjoy this place! The atmosphere is nice. It always seems to be busy and the waitstaff is friendly. I really like the red beans and rice. And they have a great salad with pears, bacon, Gorgonzola cheese and almonds. After trying it I make salads like it at home all the time now! It's delicious! Definitely a great casual dinning option!

Sunday afternoon delight. We were Pleasantly surprised with our visit to Georgia Blue. When you dine at 3 in the afternoon it can be hit or miss on both service and food preparation. We were seated quickly, but we were beginning to think we had fallen through the proverbial crack. We had time to completely review the menu discuss selections and even contemplate leaving. Fortunately Madelyn asked if we had been waited on, from that point on service was impeccable. I had the Panned Red Fish, my wife had the Mahi Sandwich. The plating of both dishes was very appropriate and appetizing. The sandwich vessel being fashioned from a pair of license plates was well done. I got the first bite of the Mahi sandwich, the flavones and texture popped In my mouth. The sourdough was beautifully toasted with just enough char to give enough flavor to go with an outstanding remoulade (more on this later), generously covering the Mahi, Be careful as it is juicy. Sweet potato fries were the chosen side and were a great choice especially since they were hot and fresh. My Paneed Red Fish with Parmesan risotto and steamed fresh broccoli looked very appetizing. I started with the fish by itself, it was nicely seasoned and cooked. The Risotto was beautifully done. It had a nice Parmesan garlicky flavor with some red onion bits that were tasty. The Redfish and risotto paired beautifully, every bite was truly delightful. Only thing I added was a bit of pepper to the entree. The broccoli was well cooked but under seasoned. It didn't add anything to the dish but was worth eating. Remoulade surprise... To my good fortune my wife began to get full and concentrated on her Mahi. Having laid aside her toasted sourdough provided me the opportunity to have the missing ingredient from my meal, bread. Even though there was still a generous amount of remoulade still on the underside the sourdough it still held a crunch and outstanding flavor. The Surprise was exponential increase in favors. I was stunned, I had just discover the missing ingredient that I had no idea was missing. It turned a good meal into an outstanding meal. It turned a nicely flavored meal into something with a bold flavor. I told Madelyn what a difference it made and she should tell her boss. I thought a manager might stop by, they never did. We will definitely return on our next trip to Jackson. I just hope they will let me order Remoulade toast on our return.

Pretty decent list of craft brews, for the area, so that's a plus. The food wasn't super impressive, but it was decent. I had the catfish tacos & thought they were pretty good. Service was polite & prompt. Bonus for being open later than 9pm. The other pix that are in the Yelp reviews make this place look like a "dive", but it's far from that. It's in a newer shopping center kind of area & the place is open & clean.

Georgia Blue never disappoints! I've been to this location several times. We went on a Saturday when there is live music. Service: We took a seat at the bar as we awaited a table. The bar tender ignored us until we spoke up. I chose the house Merlot and my BF decided upon Gin/Tonic which was very weak. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Entree: I chose the sautéed crawfish salad and my boyfriend chose his usual the duck salad. No complaints about the crawfish. However the duck salad is brought out as a leg-quarter and you have to pull the meat off the bone. Very tedious this should be done for you.

I went here yesterday after church with my mother (per her recommendation), and I loved the food; it was awesome. Even though I don't usually like the taste of catfish or grits, my favorite dish was the catfish and grits with a creamy crawfish bayou sauce. Very flavorful, and the portion was a good size. The Paneed Redfish with risotto and fresh veggies was also delicious. I also liked the fried okra, fried crawfish, and peach cobbler. I wasn't disappointed with any of the food. The price of some of the food is a bit on the higher side, but so what. It's good to try local, non-chain restaurants. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because service was too slow for me, and I think I have a fare amount of patience considering I used to teach hard-headed middle school kids, lol! For example, when we first sat down and the waiter took our drink orders, he came back about 7 minutes later with them. Then, when we ordered our appetizers and food, it came at a decent time (I don't expect my food to come out immediately, as I like my food hot and fresh), but the waiter didn't check on us until the end of the meal when our drinks were low. Then, he refilled them. When we ordered our desserts, that took a while, and then we had to wait again for the check. He was nice, but the service was still not superb because of how long it took to order, eat, pay, and leave. Overall, though, I recommend Georgia Blue.

The service was pretty good. The food came out super quick and our drinks (water) stayed full the entire time. But holy moly, I guess it might just be because we are in Madison but these are one of those restaurants that you walk in to and look at the menu you immediately lose your appetite over the prices. Everything is $12+ and the average price on any entrée is $19. I highly encourage the restaurant to introduce a lunch menu with lunch prices. I just feel paying $60 for three people to have lunch is a bit ridiculous. Call me cheep, sure. But lunch should be priced $7-$12. Anyways, we had the fried pickles and the batter is awesome and thick. But bring some mints, the garlic is dangerous. We had friend tamales and the pulled pork nachos. Nachos were AWESOME. They were drenched in sweet honey BBQ. Tamales not so much..... They didn't really taste like actual tamales at all. I wasn't a huge fan. Anyways, for dinner I would say sure... But not a good lunch place. I wouldn't recommend people there really because of the prices. It's crazy and not worth it.

There are not a lot of "bars" in Madison, by design, and this is one of the few places that comes close to such a place. They have a lot of craft beer on tap, so that is a huge plus! The high prices they are charging per pint is really my big criticism. Otherwise, they have always been very friendly, they are quick to get you seated, the food is reasonably priced and it is generally quite tasty too. I haven't really had anything that is lackluster here, other than my wife getting an overdone burger one time (which can happen anywhere). Again, just keep in mind that for every pint you get, you are paying about the same price as 2/3's of a six pack (really, you do that most places though...).

Our first time at this location, we've been to the one at Flowood (about 6 months ago) and it was terrible. This is near where we live and we always see lots of people in and out of it. We went for supper on Wednesday evening around 6:30pm and sat in the bar area. It was busy and we really liked the atmosphere. The bar tender was very friendly, efficient and on her toes. I ordered a blue cheese burger without the bun with sweet potato and husband had the shrimp basket with regular fries. If Gordon Ramsey was with us he would have gone into the kitchen, banged his fist on the table and shouted 'c'mon guys!' My burger was tepid if it was luke warm, burnt on the edges and needed some seasoning. The sweet potato fries were a bit soft and the salad and burger garnish ok. Husbands shrimp were tasty but his fries weren't that hot. The staff here were great and I loved the atmosphere so will give it another go at some point, hence the three stars. It would have easily been a two if not for them.

Fabulous food. Fabulous service. Must try nachos with red beans and rice appetizer. It's a meal in itself!! Will definitely come back again.

I was really excited by this menu. in fact we stayed in the area just so we could eat lunch here. I honestly believe that we went on an off day. The base of the food we got was great but the execution was off. We ordered the hand cut gorgonzola chips. There was barely any gorgonzola and there were soggy with alfredo. They weren't even warm and were so soggy you couldn't pick them up. By trying a few of the non soggy chips i could tell the app could be awesome if made right and served fresh. I got the 3 sliders and they were also cold. Tasty but cold. Sweet potato fries were cold and inedible. My hubby got a dozen raw oysters and those were great. He also had the crawfish crepes which were cold but pretty darn good regardless. I would like to go back here but only on a Friday or Saturday night. I hope our visit was a fluke and not the norm!

Never had a bad meal at Georgia Blue! The Turnip Green Bites are worth the trip by themselves, but their Shrimp & Grits or Bayou Catfish with Crawfish Cream Sauce or... well, everything we've tried is spectacular. Love the Crawfish Salad or the Smoked Duck Salad. Amazing burgers! We like to go at lunch time for the delicious blue plate specials as well. Good service and reasonable prices.

I agree that the atmosphere of the restaurant doesn't quite mesh with the menu, but that isn't really important to me. The food is what matters and it was really good. We started with the gorgonzola chips and crawfish crepes appetizers. Both were very delicious. As entrees we had the mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries (wonderful) and the shrimp po-boy (some of the best shrimp i've had in the Jackson area). I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Went for lunch..loved it... Went for dinner and wanted to SPANK the management. Here's the deal..... Dear Management, Your food is great...HOWEVER, For the dinner price, you could offer some type of bread with your awesome little (house) salad and a good pasta dish like your Seafood Linguine. But above all, shame on you, if you are gonna be so snooty as to charge a $3.00 split fee....For goodness sake....you split the food on two plates...you dang sure don't just bring out an extra plate stacked under the other one. That's just insulting. Honestly that ticked me off quite a bit. Is that supposed to be some type of punishment for sharing an entree with someone? Besides all that, your place has a bar type atmosphere...you're pushing it to act like it's an imposition for you to wash two plates. I don't make a habit of sharing an entree...but it was late night and it seemed like a good idea to have an entree between us with a drink instead of an appetizer...wow, not allowed??? Really? Other much classier restaurants have split it on another plate for no charge if they knew we were sharing and they dang sure didn't slap an extra plate underneath the other one and then leave it for me to fish it out for myself, drag a portion onto the plate and then charge me an extra three bucks for the trouble. Ticked me off...if your food wasn't so good you'd get a one or two star rating from me for that stunt. You've got the food thing going in a good direction, don't mess it up with silliness like this.

This restaurant is a bit schizophrenic, like it can;t decide whether it wants to be a destination for upscale southern food (20-30 dollar entrees) or a sports bar (lots of TV's and very loud) In spite of that, the dishes here are actually quite good. I do expect a better atmosphere when I'm paying this much for an entree, but the burgers and sandwiches are definitely worth a visit (the grilled mahi mahi and fried green tomato BLT in particular).

I like the appetizers. Fried tamales and bacon bites and homemade chips and cream dip.

One of our favorites hangs with pretty good food, fun vibe, and great bar staff. The live music is a little much for the acoustics of the building, but mostly a fun place with good food.

Like the aesthetic. Food leaves a lot to be desired. Felt like I'd get the same food at any chain at a much cheaper price. Very limited menu.

Went for lunch with a group of friends and really enjoyed the food. Atmosphere is laid-back and very casual, with contemporary Southern decor. I had the mahi sandwich and sweet potato fries--I'd recommend both! Sandwich has lots of fish and great flavor, though I'm glad I ordered the remoulade on the side, as it was a bit heavy for me. Service was fast and friendly.

Indiana Bible College's singing group sang at Parkway Church in Madison, MS. After the service, the church catered Georgia Blue for us... THAT WAS AWESOME!!! All 51 of us raved about how amazing the food was. I only hope I get to come back to Madison to try Georgia Blue in the restaurant. What an amazing place! IBC Handclap of appreciation! *clap* God's favor rests at Georgia Blue!!!

Georgia Blue has a well rounded menu focused on American cuisine with a Southern flare, has a cozy Southern vibe with Cajun influence, and maintains a friendly staff. It also hosts LIVE music every week and boasts a full bar with a sizeable beer selection. Not cheep but well priced for the quality, I have never had a bad experience and have enjoyed every meal! Highly recommended!

So incredibly disappointed. We called in a to-go order and were excited to try some of the delicious things we saw on the menu. Boy oh boy.... We were told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Alright, cool. We got there at about 20 min after the call in time. Told the hostess and she simply said "ok." Um, okay. Thinking the order wasn't ready yet, we waited another 15 min. At this point, we're getting upset. After flagging down a passing server, we ask her to check on it... No response. Asked the two people working the front again, and neither of them budged to check on it or update us on the order. Isnt this part of your job? Do you have a thing against people that place pick up orders?? Absolutely horrible service. Obviously (about 45 min after placing the order now) we left. I'm all for giving restaurants a second chance, but I am not sure this time around. I guess there's a reason why I see so many yelpers commenting on the bad service.

Very good. Fried Tamales, bone in Ribeye is outstanding. Seafood Crepes are good, too. Really good bar. Met the owner. Real nice guy. He knows how to run a restaurant.

Came here tonight and had a great time! It has great food and a laid back environment. The menu is unique. I had the Fried Green Tomato BLT which had praline bacon and it was unique and awesome. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits which is more like a Corn and Shrimp Bisque version but was really really good. We ended up sharing each. I liked the environment, food, and we had good service. Needed break from the mundane!!
