Wow, I don't think I know of any other way to describe the meal I just had. The special ;Wahoo was great and the staff recombined the perfect wine . I have nothing to suggest that they should change and I don't have a pic because the dish didn't last that long. Sorry!

Travel here for business and this place is always right on point. Travel a lot across the country and rate this in my top 10. If your in jackson ms you need to make sure to visit.

Some of the locals gave this place a hat tip as being a place to check out. When I checked on the Yelp app that if you checked in you got a free cocktail, the deal was sealed that I was eating dinner here. The cocktail list is ridonckulous. It goes on for pages and pages and pages. There are too many options. I had four drinks. All four were reasonably strong and very flavorful. So they know what they are doing behind the bar. The only thing I did not like is that there seemed to be an old fashioned binary gender split between the drinks - and I seemed to always pick the "girly" drink and get it in a Martini glass while the more manly things came in a tumbler - so it might have been helpful to put binary gender symbols next to drink choices so I could have flown under the radar better than calling attention to myself with all of the good old boys. I wasn't even ordering the ladyboy special - the names of the drinks and the ingredients seemed butch. But I called it wrong all four times. The fried oyster salad on the "small plates" was beyond good. It was not a small plate either, it was quite filling. I could have kept eating but I did not really need to - what was on the plate was sufficient. The fried oysters were delicious; the sauce it was soaked in was even better; and the prepared lettuce was an excellent touch. Overall for Jackson, this was alright.

Fantastic food that's truly second to none. New Orleans, Atlanta, or New York, this place would be a winner anywhere. Yum.

A business colleague and I wanted a decent place to eat dinner on the way back to our hotel in Madison and found this place searching our phone. Really nice place. The staff is friendly and the waiter knew the menu well. I had the Steelhead trout on a bed of cous cous with shredded Brussels sprouts. It was excellent. My co-worker had the redfish special for the evening and raved about it. Extensive wine list and good local beer selection. Capitol street was under construction but there is a friendly valet. I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Apparently Monday evening is a great time to come in to the Parlor Market if you are dining alone. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the bartender's suggestion of a Frisco sour before ordering half a dozen oysters on the half shell. The mignonette and the oysters were outstanding. Not wanting to overdo it (I have an early morning tomorrow) I ordered an appetizer in lieu of an entrée. The rabbit over the pea Hoppin John was delicious and satisfying. My only poor choice was getting the free cocktail-far too sweet for my taste. Well, that and my attire-I was definitely the most casual diner in there but luckily was on my way before the more couture clientele arrived! Note: oysters are one dollar each during happy hour ordered on the half shell!

This is one of the best restaurants in Jackson, hands down. I've been here for lunch, dinner, drinks, lunch, drinks and more drinks. The lunch menu is usually creative and reasonably priced. The quality of the food is always fantastic. The trouble is that if you are not already downtown, it is harder to get to and park near. With Capitol street now a two way street, it is easier to get to, but there is less street parking. Dinner is more expensive, again, this is one of the nicer places in town, so that might be expected. But the quality of the food makes it worth it for a spacial occasion. The atmosphere is excellent as well. Drinks. For the atmosphere, the drink menu is very reasonable compared to a cocktail bar like the Apothecary or the Library. There are affordably priced bottles of wine and champagne, and a diverse menu of cocktails. Cocktails range from $8-10, which is maybe a dollar cheaper than you expect to pay at a place like this in Jackson. Fancy drinks aren't a cheap habit anywhere, but this is good value here.

Great food. Took the advice of the bartender. Was great. Did wedge salad and pork belly. Great beer selection.

Ate lunch at this place today with my Mom and sister-in-law. We Loved it. Friendly waitress, great environment, delicious coffee...liked the pimento cheese plate and the deviled eggs. They were both mild in flavor and were balanced with the tangy pickled onions. The addition of cherry tomatoes and celery on the pimento cheese plate were nice. The one problem with the pimento cheese was that it was a little dry. This made it hard to dip or spread. Tasty duck gumbo and wedge salad. We basically felt like it was a party when the desserts came out. We tried the beignets, strawberry shortcake, and the walk down memory lane(a combo of childhood treats served in a metal lunchbox). There were so many desserts to try! My favorites were the beignets and the strawberry shortcake. Would definitely go back next time I am in town.

What a nice find in downtown Jackson! Located near historic Farish street, Parlor Market is a foodie gem. I sat at the bar and my bartender John, made excellent menu suggestions including pairing a very nice wine with my BBQ redfish. Service was fast and friendly, and special orders were no problem at all. Parlor Market has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and dinner here was a real pleasure! The menu features many complex and interesting items. If i were in town longer i would work my way through that menu. Double highly recommend.

The Parlor Market was 2 blocks from our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn on Capitol). The neighborhood is a bit run-down but we felt safe walking. The restaurant provides a setting which would be well suited for either a romantic or business dinner. We started with the duck sausage and gulf shrimp small plates. Both were very good. The shrimp were fresh and the duck had just the right amount of smoke flavor. My husband chose the PM burger for his entrée. He said it was cooked perfectly. The fries that accompanied his burger were straight out of the fryer and delicious. I chose the cup of duck gumbo and a side of cheddar grits. The gumbo was delightful. The grits were served piping hot in a small cast iron pan and they were heavenly. Our server, Lioyd, was knowledgeable re: the menu and extremely personable. Thanks, Parlor Market, for such an enjoyable dinner!

This is hands down one of the best restaurants in Jackson, MS. If I had to classify it - it's upscale, contemporary, American / Southern. The food and libations (and yes, they are libations) are great. The culinary and bar tendening staff really do know what they are doing. It's on the pricey end - especially for the area, but it's great for date night, post work drinks, guy or gal's night out ... when you want to feel just a little bit fancier. I've had the duck, pork chops, and paella - all very very good. My drink of choice here is the Old Fashioned. It is GOOD... and I'm an Old Fashioned junkie. If you find yourself in Jackson, MS ... put this on your list of places to go. It's right next door to my favorite restaurant in Jackson, Mayflower Cafe. Though Mayflower is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

I love the dining experience at parlor market! I feel transported and I forget about the outside world. I get lost in the vast flavor and robust attention to detail. If you haven't dined here, you're missing out! Great for lunch or a romantic dinner. LOVE this place!
(5)Jeff N.
This place is great! I was in town on business and we were looking for a unique place to eat. This was perfect. I had the Duck Carbonara and my coworker had the redfish. They were very different and tasted great. We both HATE liver, but when the greeter and the waiter recommended the Liver as an appetizer we gave it a try. We were blown away. We will definitely be back

2nd time back in a 3 day business trip. Amazing locally sourced food like Oyster Rockefeller with collard greens (Wow!!) Duck Gumbo, and in-house cured meats for a delightfully aromatic and succulent Charcuterie Board. Atmosphere plays well for romantic dinner to casual lunch. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and solid.
(5)Beth C.
What a great place! We got into town late and were worried to bring kids out in a dinner crowd, but the staff eased any concerns and made sure we had a fabulous meal. They split a plate for the little ones, made a special vegetarian plate for me and made excellent beer suggestions too. The atmosphere was very relaxed and our fellow diners were a pleasant crowd.

Having been commuting here on a weekly basis for 3 months, I finally decided to walk over from the hotel at the recommendation of Perry, an awesome bartender at the downtown Marriott. John, one of the bartenders, was top notch. I pretty much deferred to him for my drinks and dinner. He mixed up an incredible Vieux Carre' while I waited on a duck confit/andouille sausage/shrimp gumbo that I could have seriously doubled up and made a meal in itself. Next up was the daily special - a baked salmon topped with a deviled lobster. All of this was sitting on a bed of creamy grits with some type of greens (it didn't last long enough for me to figure it out) and surrounded by a thick lobster bisque. John paired it with a perfect Pinot Noir, and it everything was perfect. Finished it off with the daily cake selection, red velvet, and took the app special of seared tune and octopus salad back to Perry to thank him for the recommendation. Hats off to the chef, Chris, and the previously mentioned John. I will definitely be returning in the very near future.
(5)Tricia R.
Absolutely unique cuisine. John Ingram is awesome. Zack on the grill. The chef, omg, I love you! The Gulf shrimp is the best I've ever had. Succulent and seasoned to perfection. I had never had a sweet potato bisquit and was cautiously optimistic, but it was mouth watering. Cute valet guy, I'm coming back!
(5)Keith J.
Nice dinner, definitely a unique place in downtown Jackson. I stayed just down the street and walked over it is not the best part of town so you should drive. Nice cozy atmosphere Service very pleasant and efficient food was excellent.
(4)Leah W.
Pretty disappointed. They were out of the redfish though the restaurant was empty. The menu was too small and had too much dark meat to be out of a basic dish. I was only left with duck, pork, and steak to choose from and considered just ordering a side salad (I would have done better with that). Ordered the $40 steak and it was mediocre and way too rare. My date ordered the flounder and it was fried and greasy and not good. Dessert and wine were good, but we will not be back. There are too many good places to eat in jackson to waste that amount of money on average food in a bad part of town. Walkers, bravo, and the mayflower are much better choices

We had a layover in Jackson, and we wanted to sample the best of the local fare. Thankfully, Yelpers led us to another gem. Boy, oh boy! This place is located across the street from the site of the Woolworth's counter sit-In memorial from the Civil Rights Movement. The whole downtown area is really neat, and the Parlor Market is conveniently located. Several things really stood out: 1) The waiter was spectacular; he had sampled everything on the menu, making him a reliable and respectable server. He even knew details about the smoked onions in our Caesar salad. 2) farm to table 3) the menu was enticing, and they offered a five course tasting menu hand selected by the chef... Which we chose and were not let down! 4) I could smell my specific dishes cooking from my table. That's impressive! I could rave about the actual bites of each sampled food, but I'd rather just tell you to go in and find out yourself because every bite was well prepared and inventive and fresh. You can't go wrong no matter what you choose. My favorite course was the fish entree--so yummy. The corn muffins with sorghum butter were also standouts. Happy dining, Jacksonites!
(4)Matt H.
This is definitely one of the Jackson Metro area's best fine dining options. The menu is always interesting. They offer some fabulously unusual small plates. Parlor Market is part of the farm to table movement which makes for some wonderfully fresh offerings that are always changing! The atmosphere is upscale, if a tad loud and crowded on a busy night. On a slower night it would be a great spot for a romantic dinner. The lighting is kept low. The servers know the menu and are helpful with recommendations (that are not simply pushing the priciest items). They are quite professional and attentive. Overall the service is great, which is a huge part of a dining experience. The Capitol Street construction is a bit of a mess right now, but manageable.

I am saddened. DEEPLY saddened. Why, you ask? Because here I am, a California visitor on a very short business stay in Jackson, Mississippi, and I have just had one of the best dining experiences of my short lifetime. Why, oh WHY does Parlor Market have to be more than 2000 miles away? Why? When all I wanted to do was take home every dish I ordered? Or maybe just take home the chefs that created these beautiful dishes? Can I pack them in my suitcase (both the chefs and their creations)? Maybe? The Beef Cheek appetizer? Phenomenal. The Duck carbonara? Cooked and glazed to perfection, and WITHOUT that gamey duck taste. The noodles and grits they served with the duck and cheeks? Melt-in-your-mouth. And dessert, OH DESSERT. I just experienced my new favorite dessert when I experienced the affogato with beignets. All of these foods, by the way, were completely new to me. And all of these foods were nothing short of outstanding. So, I will finish off this review with a heavy heart, knowing it will be quite some time until I return to Jackson. But when I do, you can be sure I WILL return to this excellent establishment and its ridiculously good dishes.

Dinner this past Saturday night was AMAZING! Everything was fantastic. Food, service, atmosphere. It was perfect! We were celebrating a special occasion and the staff went above and beyond. I loved every bit of it. The seasonal menu makes each visit different and the craft cocktails are so delicious.

After multiple phenomenal dining experiences at Parlor Market over the past couple years, I feel qualified to say, unequivocally, that this is THE BEST restaurant in Jackson. They deliver on service, food, wine & cocktails, every time. Love the chic, urban vibe & friendly, southern hospitality. From the moment you walk in the door, you know you're in for something special. Whether you belly up to the bar for a PM burger, or choose from their seasonally changing, locally sourced menu, at a secluded table for two, it's a dining experience that will leave a lasting impression.

I wasn't in the mood for a fancy or gourmet dinner. Just wanted something tasty while on a business trip to Jackson, and wasn't expecting a stand-out meal tonight. I stayed at a hotel about 2 blocks away and was tempted to try the Mayflower, just because of its history and local charm. But wow, I am so glad I kept walking one more block to take a peek in Parlor Market before deciding on a dinner spot. The atmosphere is dark, comfy, dimly lit by Edison bulbs. It's not the type of place that you think of when you think Mississippi (nothing wrong with MS, by all means, but this place definitely has a big city feel). I ordered the fried oyster salad first. I was amazed at the amount of oysters on the plate. Perfectly breaded and crusted, with grilled lettuce and a dressing that just blew me away. These oysters were medium to large size, but so full of flavor. I was honestly stunned. At first I thought $14 for a salad was a bit much, but with the amount and quality of oysters, it seems like a steal. For my entree, I had the simplest thing on the menu - a burger. But I can't call what I devoured tonight "just another burger." I just watched "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," burger edition on Food network yesterday. I have had several of the burgers on their list, but I'm struggling to say that I've ever had one better than at Parlor Market. I got it medium rare. The meat was so juicy (and a bit messy, too) and so full of flavor. I spoke with the staff and they actually hand select the cows from a farm about 20 miles away for their burgers. I have no idea what their criteria for looking at a cow is, but it obviously works. Seriously, I've had burgers from well-known burger havens like Matt's Bar (Minneapolis), Kuma's Korner (Chicago), J.J. Melon (NYC), and so many more, but unless my memory is just really foggy, they don't top the burger at Parlor Market. What an amazing surprise on this trip to Jackson. I will certainly be back the next time I am in town. The only question is if I would be willing to try anything on the menu other than exactly what I ordered tonight, because it was so freaking good. Well done, Parlor Market! Well done!

We came here with a group of 9 family members to celebrate my dad and sister's birthdays. Don't let the construction on Capitol street deter you. There is valet if you prefer, but you could also look for street parking or there is a lot behind the parlor market/mayflower building. Parlor Market is beautifully decorated. At night, they keep the ambiance romantic with soft, dim lighting. I loved the appetizers more than my entree. We had the General Tho's pork cheeks and Chicken Livers. Both were out of this world and so not what you would expect. Don't let the ingredients scare you--they make very good use of these underutilized parts of pig and chicken. For the entree I had the Carolina Trout. The fish was good and flaky but it was upstaged by the lebanese rice dressing--which was cooked to perfection. Parlor Market also accommodated my vegetarian mom by making her a butter squash pasta with in-season roasted vegetables. It wasn't even on the menu. You know you're in good hands when the chef can think on his feet.
(4)Judy R.
This is probably my favorite restaurant in Jackson - it is near and dear to my heart and opened right around the beginning of Jackson's revitalization. I've had many things from the menu and never have I been disappointed. The charcuterie plate is a must when I go...as well as the homemade desserts. If you're looking for a cozy, upscale (but not in a snooty way) kinda place, you can't go wrong at Parlor Market.

Passing through Jackson and looking for a flavorful farm to table establishment with options for vegetarians? This is your place. The lunch menu had plenty of light options, with a couple heavy ones as well for the hungrier folks. Plenty with meat and options without. Seafood options, as well, for those that may be looking for pescetarian or just seafood meals. I have cooked duck confit before and had a time with it, trying to pair it with something to hide or take away the toughness of the meat. When I saw they offered a duck confit gumbo, I immediately ordered it because I wanted to see what they did with it, to possibly improve my own dishes. To my delight, the gumbo was spot-on for southern flavor and the meat was just the right tenderness for gumbo. The only parts that threw me off were pieces of fried something in it that I couldn't figure out and the rice was a little harder than I would have liked. Overall, though, A+. My entree consisted of my medium burger and fries. I like going with crazy intelligent and sophisticated dishes, but sometimes a burger just hits the spot. On the taste profile, this one sure hit the spot. Just the right smoky, grilled flavor that I love to taste/smell when cooking on my own grill. The bread was high quality and had a good flavor, as well. The only downside was the burger being a bit dry... I had to drink a lot of water. Everything was made in house, so I had to get a good taste of the fries, pickles, and ketchup. The ketchup was good, the fries okay (not greasy), and the pickle was good but a little too sweet to be called dill. The other dish served at my table was prepared beautifully and was enjoyed, no complaints. Service was fast, friendly, and the ambiance was enjoyable. I highly suggest eating here at least once, even if you're just passing through. If my one visit is representative, you won't regret it! I definitely plan on coming back.

Maybe it was a Thursday, maybe it was a weekday, otherwise the 5 course tasting menu suffered in quality, taste, and effort. We came here for my brothers 24th birthday with excitement. The wine pairing which stated $30 on the menu turned out to be $40. The first course was gumbo, great taste. Second: pork cheeks: kimchi too salty Third: red snapper. Super small portion fish with carb-heavy orzo Fourth: pork chop, best dish of the night Fifth: 3 scoops of ice cream with 3 over baked cookies Honestly, why are diners obsessed with this farm to table establishment? The tasting had nothing special about it, it's not worth the money for this quality of food. Maybe a little it more effort for the dessert and an off the menu dish added into the tasting would have surprised means take me on a magical journey of textures. Is this best Jackson can do? I don't know. If I ever come Back from the eastern shore board, I will find out. Wine is a-okay, great job with the pairing selection!

Stopped in for a drink after being bored at the Hilton down the street. Great young staff, great cocktails. Try the small plates...

I went to this restaurant a couple of months ago, while on an extended layover with my airline. My First Officer and I didn't want to dine in the hotel, in spite of their best efforts to keep our business. So, they gave us directions to the Parlor Market and I will say their advice was right on the mark! This restaurant/bar is the perfect setting for the after work business crowd to come and unwind and the ambiance of the place is superbly inviting. I ordered the Duck sausage and a couple of glasses of Malbec. The wine came first of course, and the Duck sausage was surprisingly delicious! Needless to say, we wolfed it down like a couple of hungry city slickers who'd been lost in the woods for two weeks! When the burgers arrived, personally speaking, I was eager to find out what magic this chef had worked with the American staple. He didn't disappoint one iota! This place is amazing! I live in Buckhead (Atlanta) and I can say the Parlor Market beats most of the restaurants I've dined in here! One can only hope they will expand and open a restaurant here too! Douglas E. Hill

Catfish soft taco is phenomenal. Paired with the seasonal chip and a frosty cold brew, this lunch is hard to beat.
(5)Jessica D.
Thanks to the offer on Yelp we got two of the house cocktails (the "Front Porch") for free. I was happy about that because the menu seemed a bit pricey to me. At this restaurant I had the BEST -ice cream (made with Bailey's) -beignets -cocktail (the "Miradel") and -tater tots (made with blue cheese) I have EVER had Atmosphere is very cool.
(4)Edward P.
I rarely write a review , i was on a short stay in Jackson and this restaurant was really close to the hotel, great reviews before hand , i got to say the food was good , i had the duck sausage and the duck parpadelle, the last one was a very small.portion for almost 30 bucks , but quality was there , the ambient was great , but the thing i ll never get is an empty rest on a week day , why why a waiter has.to rush you , that really killed the moment .
(3)S K.
This place is off the charts! Excellent atmosphere, service, cocktails, and food. They locally source their food and prepare it perfectly. I had chicken livers, red fish, pork belly, and pork cheek. I left stuffed because I just couldn't stop eating all of this wonderful food. The Parlor Market is a must go to place if ever in Jackson.
(5)Joe B.
Nice place. The bar has lots of seating which is important to a solo business traveler like me. I don't do tables for 1. I had a simple dinner of charcuterie and Duck Gumbo. It was very good. Although I didn't return during my time in Jackson I will certainly stop back when im in town.
(3)Chuck Z.
Wow great place. Great local beer selection and diverse wine list. Small plates are creative - try the chippino (spell that right?), a seafood base soup/stew. Don't miss the delicious tater tots stuffed with blur cheese. Overall solid dishes that are made with care, service is also outstanding. A must try.
(5)Matt W.
Appetizers were delicious. The paella was a bit disappointing and lacked a pop of flavor. Decor inside was chill, good ambiance and fantastic service.
(4)Andrew F.
This is easily one of the top 3 restaurants in Jackson. My wife and I come here every few months to try out the new menus. So far we have been 5-6 times and have never left disappointed. Pros: Bar is amazing. Probably the best bar for variety of cocktails. Try the aviation, its delicious. Food is ever changing. I love fine-dining that regularly change over large portions of their menu. It makes it way more fun to come back. My wife often gets seafood for one dish and always loves it. I tend venture between pork or some kind of bird (quail, duck) and have never been disappointed. Waitstaff is great. They are appropriately attentive and rarely do you wish they were there and they are not. Middle of the road: Desserts. Some of the desserts are whimsical and tasty (e.g., lunchbox of classic treats). Some of the desserts are uninspired. they are still good, but do not make me want to come back for more. Cons: downtown and currently the street is under construction. Parking is nearby on the street. Not my favorite place to walk afterdark. Wish it was in Fondren. this is a great date night/special occasion place. The food is rich, tasty, and varied but always a modern southern style.
(5)Nancy W.
Duck sausage was AMAZING! Chicken livers we're also great. Charcuterie with cheese was delish. Overall great small plates and drinks. Waiter was super friendly and very relaxing ambiance.
(5)Wesley S.
We visited Parlor Market, based on Yelp reviews. It's a decent downtown location with beautiful interior atmosphere. We enjoyed the Po-Boy sandwich and sweet potato fries, with a Waldorf salad. The salad was awesome and the sandwich was very large, with above average flavored sauce. With a great menu selection, full-bar, and great/fancy styling, I suggest giving this corner spot a try, if in the area... Solid 2.5 stars, with potential for more.
(3)Richard D.
Interesting menu. Duck Gumbo was excellent. The gnocchi in the beef short rib was out of this world.
(5)David S.
Top notch dining and service in downtown Jackson. The Oysters Rockefeller, Duck Carbonaro (with cracklins), and Pork Cheeks, were all to die for! This restaurant is absolutely fantastic.
(5)Jacquelyn H.
Great for GNO !! Cheese tray and a couple of bottles of wine...Yes please.
(4)G A.
I had the gumbo and a mixed drink. Food was good but overpriced. It has a cool atmosphere and great decor. I wish the restaurant well and hope they succeed but it's a bit pricey.
(4)Ben P.
Parlor Market is a gem in the otherwise sparse downtown Jackson. Bartenders concocted creative, delicious cocktails, including an Arnold Palmer-esque drink using their own sweet tea-infused vodka. The burger I had was good-very good- but the duck gumbo was fantastic. The gumbo was a great substitute for what I thought I was going there to get: the lobster bisque. I think they need to update their online menu, but otherwise, this is the place to be in Jackson.
(4)Steven B.
Another great experience at Parlor. The Sous chef came out to the table which made my time here that much better. Try the oyster cubana and the charcuterie !!!!
(4)Bryan L.
I can only assume I came in on a bad night. I was treated as a nuisance instead of a guest at first. Maybe they thought I was there to deliver bread? I dunno. I sat at the bar. I had a few drinks and they were all pretty good. I think that was the shining light of my visit here. I had the Pork Belly small plate. It was actually pretty large. Belly was cooked well. The Kimchi on there was great! But... There was some issue on the plating. It was served in a cast iron skillet, which was fine. I started on one side and was chowing down. I went to the other side and about set my brain on fire. Holy crap was it hot!!! It was just very uneven heating. Like half of the skillet was over a burner, other half in an ice chest. Overall a pretty good dish. Had the burger for dinner. I wanted to LOVE this burger!!! Bartender said it was going to be bomb ass killer face. Turns out it bombed and fell on it's face. Meat was good, best part of the burger. The bun, I think was a Brioche, was great as well. The thing that "ruined" it for me was the cheese. It has no place on that burger. Would have been better without it, and I ended up removing it a few bites in. Bad part is it had already contaminated the rest of the burger. Literally would have been better with a big ol slice of 'Merican chee. I had a dessert too while I was there. Might as well wash the taste of that burger out of my mouth. Again went with the bar keeper's recommendation. Mistake!!! Had the beignets. Not one part of this dish was good. Not to say it was bad... But it sure wasn't good. I should have purged the whole meal in the bathroom..... I won't be back unless it's for drinks. The drinks are the ONLY reason it's not getting a 2-star. I might come back and change it back to a two...... It's that close. UPDATE: Yep, after careful consideration, and a moment of clarity, it downed on me that this place is just a two. Both are for the good drinks. Any points earned by the small plate were erased by the large plate and dessert. This will be my last update to this place as I hereby vow to never step foot in this place ever again. Too much hype, not enough talent.
(2)Michelle S.
This place has near perfect stars for a reason ... It's exceptional. I had the duck breast with duck fat mashers, a glass of pino noir and ended my meal with a banana cream pie. I don't want to ruin the surprise, but this is not your everyday run of the mill pie. It's totally different and delicious. They also have free valet, which is a bonus.
(5)Chris P.
Ok, so this was my first official time to actually sit down and enjoy the Parlor Market experience. It was awesome! I have eaten leftovers that my wife has brought home, but have not eaten the food fresh cooked. Great food, knowledgeable and very good wait staff. I had the duck gumbo, which was incredible, then the burger. Let me just say, the only complaint you will have is its too big to eat...wow great burger. They select their own beef from a local farm about 20 miles north of town, give instructions to the butcher on how to prepare the meat...then, grind the meat reserved for hamburger in house. Prefect, great job! I think the only critical thing I have is just the size of the restaurant. It's located in an older part of Jackson and in a older building that has been renovated...quite well and very nice, just small. Groups/parties size 2-6 people would be fine...anything larger you better reserve half the restaurant. Sorry but it seems very small. About 15 tables and about a 15 seat bar. I want to end on a high note though - I will definitely be back.

Had a nice dinner here last night. Considering its the only game in Jackson, they do a pretty nice job. Cocktails are delicious and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The small plates and salads were the stars of the night. I should have listened to other reviewers who pointed out that the large plates are much too salty. We ordered the duck carbonara and the gulf redfish. The fish was well cooked (grits were a bit salty) but the duck was so salty it made my mouth pucker and the pasta was incredibly chewy, not al dente chewy, but actually chewy. We also ordered the special dessert, the chef's twist on PB&J with bananas but it was inedible, the plantains were rock hard. We should have mentioned it to the waiter but didn't. Overall, the prices were a bit high especially considering that the large plates were the weakest links. The charcuterie plate was phenomenal and they had a small plate goat rib special that was wonderful. The wedge salad with pork belly, also delicious. Next time I'd skip the large plates all together and just order an assortment of small plates. All in all, it's not as bad as the review sounds. The atmosphere is great and we did have a very nice night. Hopefully the chef will take some of these reviews in to consideration and make this place a must stop in Jackson.

I wish I could leave 4.5 stars. 4 is too little. So they get bumped up to 5. We sat at the bar. Service was great. Our bartender had experience and it showed. We had some great and interesting cocktails both on and off the drink menu. Food was very good, a little salty. But that is subjective. All-in-all a great experience. All that really matters in a review is that we return.

we were visiting Jackson and came upon this place that was within walking distance of our hotel. Fantastic menu! It is a little sparse, so if you have a bit of a 'selective' eater it might be kinda difficult for them to find something to suit their tastes, but for me it was great. A decent wine selection I'd say and the service is second to none! I would be back anytime I'm in Jackson!

This was such a great dinner experience! I was visiting Jackson, MS and found Parlor Market on yelp. It seems like people in Jackson, Mississippi may not be as prone to Yelping as people in big cities, so it was more difficult to find good places to eat. This restaurant could definitely survive in a big city. The atmosphere was great - intimate and trendy. The highlight of the meal was definitely the banana cream pie dessert. I wouldn't normally order that if I saw it on a menu, but it was insanely yummy.

My travels took me to Jackson, MS this week and I had the great culinary experience of dining at the Parlor Market. What a great place: Nice ambiance, great crowd, food is Excellent !! Had the Fried Oysters Salad, Burger, Scallops....I liked it so much the first night that I went back for the second time the night after. Seasonal ingredients make for a varied seasonal menu... anything is great though !!!

WOW. So good. SO GOOD. Duck sausage with grits, kale, and muscadine sauce had great individual flavors which complimented one another -- and I could eat the duck cracklings sprinkled atop all day! Pear and walnut salad was simple and flavorful with pickled celery, arugula, and a tangy vinaigrette to balance out the sweetness. The PM burger was reported to be FANTASTIC -- the fat in the burger is smoked before being added to a custom blend of ground beef for an added level of flavor. For dessert the Affogato is a tasty standard, although instead of "beignets" I think I would have preferred something more biscotti-like. The drinks were flavorful; some might think they are a bit light on the alcohol but that allowed me to try more of the tasty combinations! The food and drink are a solid 4.5 stars (due to dessert) but what pushes the rating higher is the great service and lovely experience. Yelp check-in gets you a free House drink (alcoholic version of Arnold Palmer) that is a great introduction to the diverse cocktail menu.

Fantastic cocktails and top notch food with an real attention detail. Every dinner I have had here has been quite good. A bit expensive though. On the other hand, lunch is somewhat inconsistent. The grilled veggie banh mi I had recently was bland and served on dry french bread with soggy fries. A restaurant like this should know that well cooked fries should never be greasy or limp. The burger on the other hand is one of the best in town.
(4)Virginia T.
Great service. Loved almost everything we ordered. I'm a big Oysters Rockefeller fan, and get them everywhere I can, these were different, but in a good and interesting way. Beautiful presentation, and not skimpy on the portions. My husband had a huge hamburger and fries, and the "hamburger" was honestly perfection. This was not an ordinary burger by any means. The cheesy grits was awesome, and we tried a side of the creamy greens ( being northerners we had never had greens) they were good too. I was not super impressed with the mussels in coconut broth- although the order was huge. Someone else might love them though, so I don't want to be too hard on that. The wine selection was good. We shared the dessert, some small beignets with ice cream that you poured coffee over. It was a fun thing to share after a big meal. The atmosphere was casual chic with exposed brick and a cool industrial look. This place was definitely worth the price, and we will be back if we are ever driving through again.

Excellent dinner and drinks. I was in Jackson on business, staying at the Garden Inn, and discovered this place within walking distance. Started with the oysters Rockefeller. 6 large oysters overflowing with spinach and bacon. Almost a meal, and reasonably priced. Also had the wild boar rib appetizer which was equally good. Another plus: the wonderful bar with a wide variety of creative, non vodka, cocktails, and an excellent selection of bourbons, including the entire Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Unfortunately, I thought most menu items were very expensive. Prices here are what I am used to seeing in Philadelphia or New York. Hence no fifth star.

Recently spent some time in Jackson for work, found this place on yelp and man was I fortunate. The Parlor Market is fantastic. An awesome wine list and some of the dishes are not only creative but mind blowing. I really love this place and look forward to going back on my next trip.

What a find for any town, let alone Jackson, MS!!! I set out tonight to dine at the Mayflower Cafe, a Jackson insitution (I'm told). The Parlor Maket is right next door and after a store front glance, I chose the Parlor. It seems out of place to use the word "swanky" in Jackson, but that's the vibe. Everyone was dressed to the nines and the dimly lit atmosphere set the mood for a nice dinner. The restaurant has a large wrap around bar that sits 15ish and a mix of tables; full bar with local beers and top shelf liquor. The atmosphere and bar selection are great, but the crown jewel of Parlor Market is the menu. Each dish celebrates the local cuisine and at the same time escalates it with international flavors. On this night, I chose the BBQ scallops on a bed of polenta. I honestly would have licked my plate clean if the ladies next to me wouldn't have noticed. Everything about my meal was top notch. If I had to highlight a negative, it would be the check. For my three well drinks and dinner, the check was over $60! However, the atmosphere and food were exceptional, so I didn't mind the price. Just be warned if you're a cheap date. :)
(4)Leslie G.
Outstanding drink menu kicks off your dinner experience. Service is fantastic. We had a dinner party of 6 so we tried a lot of different things on the menu. I loved the unique ingredient combinations. Each dish was outstanding. The grits were ridiculous. They were so good. I had to pass that along for everyone to try. Everyone begged for more. From beginning to end, our dinner experience was perfect. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
(5)Dennis C.
Got their buttermilk fried chicken with grits and carrots. Seriously the best fried chicken crust I have ever had. So busy eating I forgot I had a full point of beer just sitting there.
(4)Thad S.
My God. How is this place in Jackson? As a co-worker mentioned, it should be in Manhattan. The fried oyster salad was unbelievable, the burger was top-notch, and the cocktails are perfect. I found nothing around that was even close.
(5)Cheryl H.
We were driving through Jackson and the reviews of PM convinced us to stop. The cocktails were amazing and worth the stop in and of themselves. I wish there were more than two of us so we could have tried more things. We were torn about the appetizers and salads they all sounded so good. We chose to get two salads and had no regrets. The oysters were cooked perfectly, the dressings were amazing. My partner said they were the most masterful salads she has ever had. I had the duck with house made pasta, every bite was a delight. My partner had the special rabbit with house made dumplings. She loved it and can't quit talking about it. There is a great ambiance, fantastic service, nice but not stuffy at all. The menu is so good and varied it's hard to choose so we plan on driving back to Jackson from New Orleans with friends to dine again. Thanks for a great evening Parlor Market.
(5)Amin S.
I truly enjoyed our dinning experience at Parlor Market! the menu was very diverse and all the ingredients were organic from the local area! If you are in Jackson you must stop by parlor Market and if you check in on Yelp you will qualify for a free cocktail! Great food and atmosphere.
(4)Lawrence N.
I was in Jackson over the weekend and was looking for a good local restaurant for dinner. I found the Parlor Market on Yelp. The restaurant has an old city rustic feel which makes for an inviting casual atmosphere. They have a good wine list, along with a wide selection of bourbon's. I tried the wild game special, Venison heart with venison stuffed ravioli. I found it intriguing, the heart tasted like the outer crust of a roast beef, a little chewy but had a good flavor. If I'm every back in Jackson I will go back, I'm a fan!
(4)Constanza D.
Artisanal beers and their homemade smoked duck sausage, served on a bed of grits with kale and a muscadine sauce - were creamy goodness- a southern version of bangers and mash, as it were. Only downside, VERY popular, get reservations if you can. Didn't have time to partake of the wine selection, but it was impressive
(4)Jen M.
Very charming restaurant..dimly lit, candles on the tables. The menu focuses heavily on meats, shellfish and seafood. Don't expect a chicken dish! Our server appeared a little nervous, especially when he broke the news to us that they didn't carry VO and that they were out of a dish. I HIGHLY recommend the burger. Grass fed, grass finished with an amazing smoky flavor and melt in your mouth texture. And DO NOT MISS the local bean cassoulet. Various beans with pork belly in a smoky sauce. The Pimento Scallops, duck gumbo, and Veal Chop all earned high marks from the table. The only ding? The kitchen seems to struggle with cooking meat to proper food temperatures. The veal chopped arrived way underdone and my burger was cooked beyond medium. If they can get that squared away, this place would be an all-around hit.
(4)L B.
We were a party of 5. Everyone's food was quite tasty - from fresh Pensacola oysters on the half shell, duck sausage, marinated crab claws, bone in sirloin, and so on. Our server Tillman, was OK to begin with but as the dinner crowd got thicker he got lost - we had to flag him repeatedly for refills on standard drinks - iced tea, water and even beer. By the end he was very disappointing - so it did dampen our enthusiasm for the PM. Wish that we lived closer as I would def try it again - maybe for lunch.

I was in Jackson for business last year, and the food and atmosphere were both so wonderful at Parlor Market. During a later dinner service, I saw Chef Craig Noone walking around, briefly checking in on patrons. I wanted to give him a quick compliment, and he ended up chatting with our table for a good while. He was a very bright man, and filled with a million and one ideas. He talked about every little design idea with the restaurant, and his future plans. He made the dinner that much more enjoyable with his personality. My hope is that the restaurant continues his mission in his memory, as all good things shouldn't come to an end. This was one of the best dining experiences, and hopefully a return destination in the future. Best wishes to everyone involved with Parlor Market!

I would definitely come back here the next time I find myself in Jackson, MS. The lobster mac & cheese is to die for and was completely inhaled by yours truly. I also ordered the braised pork cheeks, and it was cooked almost to perfection. I know that people in the South are known for their hospitality, seafood, and dessert, so I also ordered the afogato, which was decent, but I would have preferred their s'mores dessert, that they were out of unfortunately. I definitely recommend this place given that it's in Jackson Mississippi!
(4)Andy C.
Tuna! Great service. Decent wine list. Interesting and unique preparations and combinations. Hat's off to the chef!
(5)Daniel S.
Very Good. Close to New Orleans as your going to get as far as atmosphere and food goes. We had a great experience and recommend to others looking for alternatives to the usual fried paradise of mississippi.
(5)Chad A.
Food was very good, staff very friendly. My buffalo ribs were a bit fatty, but the gnocchi was melt in your mouth good.
(4)Carrie R.
Duck sausage with grits, kale, and DUCK cracklins. That's all I have to say. Well...OK..I'll say it one more time: DUCK SAUSAGE (their house made sausage was a perfect balance of smokey and sweet) with the MOST delicious creamy buttery grits I've had in eons, tart and perfectly wilted kale, and crispy, fatty, rich DUCK CRACKLINS! All of these ingredients together in one bite was other worldly. Oh yeah, the fried oyster & grilled romaine salad is delish, as was the paella with rabbit sausage, jumbo gulf coast shrimp, and clams. But like I said before...DUCK SAUSAGE!!!

Parlor Market (PM) is a must-try in downtown Jackson. After spending a week in a foreign land of chick-a-fils, mcdonalds, and wendy's in america's most obese city (as reported by the today show), I would seriously and gladly welcome obesity if it were brought on by PM. It was my last day in Jackson and I was headed to the airport when I determined that I had enough time to stop for lunch on my way out. Location: PM is easy walking from the Marriott downtown. Looks like street parking only, though that looked pretty easy in that neighborhood. Ambiance: It was a beautiful, sunny day. When I walked in it was dark, but dark in a nice way. Dark-wood tables, long, modern hanging lights. Overall nicely decorated, comfortable - I could see a hip crowd hanging out there. I enjoyed my lunch at the bar which was a mistake in that I wanted to order a cocktail - they have what looked like an awesome cocktail menu with pre-prohibition drinks. Menu: The menu changes seasonally. Unfortunately, I missed out on the blue plate special. Instead, I went with the poboy special which was made with fried catfish-yum! I had my choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or chips. Of course I went sweet potato fries. The poboy was dressed with thinly sliced romaine, tomato slices, and I think a slightly spicy tartar or mayo of so e sort. The sandwich itself had at least 4 pieces of catfish that tasted fresh, not fishy or flaky. The bread was a nice sandwich bun, toasted. Definitely not the wonder bread type of roll/bun. The sandwich was so huge that I had to tackle it with a fork & knife. The only difference I would make next time would be ordering the sauce on the side. It made the bread a little too soggy ; the sauce itself could use a little more kick (add more spice). The fries were great-not too soggy nor too crispy; they were served with ketchup in a small, square ramekin. The sandwich was very filling, I ended up eating only a quarter of the fries. Other interesting lunch time items on the menu included (and definitely not limited to these items, just things that stood out to me) - muscles + matchsticks app, deviled eggs app, crab salad, catfish tacos + chips -all sounded yummy! Service: I was a little concerned at the slow response to a greeting from my waiter and then I did a self check, realizing that I was in the south and on southern time (just slower, not bad, just is). Service turned out to be wonderful and I discovered that my waiter had connections to my home town (Seattle) AND because I sat at the bar, the Executive Chef and owner was also there and we started talking about what else? Food! He advised me to come in during dinner. That is when the dishes really shine. All this food/Seattle talk got to the hostess, who also was very friendly. She too had connections to Seattle. Overall, the best food I had in Jackson. The only comparable would be the crab cake at the Marriott, though, I'm not a fan of chain restaurants. Based on the entire experience and price point I definitely plan to go back for dinner next time I'm in Jackson.
(5)Jack U.
Being a visitor I wasn't sure what I could expect from a restaurant in downtown area that seems to be going through a facelift. What a pleasant surprise. I had the Duck Gumbo, Duck Sausage along with Pork Cheeks. EVERYTHING had its own unique sauce and wonderful flavor. The service was impeccable. The drinks were very good.
(5)Lindsay D.
I am a bad Yelp user-I use it all the time, but never post reviews. I could not not review this place. In town for work, and my first visit to MS. This place is AMAZING! I was very impressed with the wine, beer, and cocktail menu. Cocktails have great complex ingredients and are very well balanced. I had the rabbit with carrot purée, which was incredible. I have a very high bar for unique food and drinks and this place absolutely exceeding my expectations for MS or anywhere!
(5)Jamieleigh W.
Amazing food! The hanger steak was out of this world. I felt they put too much sauce on the meals and I'm a real sauce lover... But the wedge salad was drowned in dressing and so was the cheese sandwich. Even with that, the food and atmosphere was great for lunch. I'd love to try dinner there!
(4)martin d.
Best meal in ages...Design leaves most cool restaurants (in major cities) in the dust and the service was excellent. Good job.
(5)Brian C.
I literally just created a Yelp account so I could defend this place against the moron who thought he got a rib-eye instead of a strip. I'm glad the GM got a chance to defend himself. This person (Mark A., I think) was obviously wasted, rude and ignorant. This is a great spot with a friendly, knowledgeable staff. If you're in Jackson and you like good food, go there. Or listen to "Mark A." and enjoy your meal at TGI Friday's...
(4)Mandy S.
Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Venison carpaccio is my favorite dish.
(5)O G.
I have been here twice now, and will come back every time I come to Jackson. The experience is truly authentic to the history of the space, the cuisine of the region, and the creativity to the chefs. First, have a cocktail. The Eudora is about as refreshing as a gin and tonic can ever be. Then, have a round of apps. If marrow is on the menu, just do it. Foie gras, do it. I think it's fair to say that the crazier the dish sounds, the more likely the Parlor Market is the only place that will do it right. So go for it. And then the dessert combos from your childhood days will reward you for being a good eater.
(5)Greg T.
Thursday night at the Parlor Market bar a few weeks ago was a hit if you ask me. Arriving at 8ish, my buddy and I were the only patrons at the bar. John, the barkeep, struck out and remained the star of the show for my first trip to this new (to Jackson) style of dining experience. The menu is the first real jewel I found in the experience. It's really fun to read. John pulled a perfect pint of Yazoo Brew, but I honestly couldn't wait to order a "Blue Ribbon." The domestic beers are all listed using their colloquial names. It's just good clean fun. There are specials each night, and you can see feel the excited vibe that the foodie staff puts off when they tell you about them. By the time I left at 10ish the bar was hopping. Most folks seemed local, but several groups were out-of-towners. Great to see that in Jackson! My favorite was the 2 couples that told everyone that would listen that they had been eating at the Magnolia for 30 years. They were a hoot! I'll order the Frutti de Mare next time I'm looking for an upscale bar experience. I'll come with a real budget next time I'm looking for Jackson fine dining. I'll be back soon for the happy hour oysters (4-6).
(4)Kelly M.
My husband and i are visiting Jackson and found parlor market on yelp. Great place. We live in Dallas with so many wonderful restaurants. This place would give any restaurant in Dallas a run for their money. I had the raw oysters, mussels, shrimp and crab claws. Wonderful. My husband had the strip and he says it was delicious. Service was great, very informative. Place reminds me of sitting in a cabin with a fireplace, but in the middle of the city.
(5)Lawrence Z.
Hands down the best cuisine I've had in Jackson, Mississippi. Before this culinary experience, the best I've had were Atlantica Grill and Sophias. The "fruit of the sea" platter was very fresh and tasty. It included lobster, shrimp, mussels, raw oysters, and blue crab claws. They got very interesting in regards to garnishes and sauces. The beef short rib stroganoff was the bomb. It was the best stroganoff I've ever had. And the pork chop is good as well. However, the fried lemon was a little weird. My girlfriend had the pork chop and it was delectable. The black eyed peas were so unique and tasty. For desert, we had the medley of cookies and ice cream. The creme brulee ice cream was the best! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. However, it was very very pricey. Bon appetite!
(5)Hannah S.
We enjoyed a pleasant business lunch here on the recommendation of a colleague. Love the layout and decor, very classy, with high wooden ceilings and lots of light. I was stoked to see that they had a vegetarian sandwich (vegetarian fare seems hard to come by in Mississippi...), but was disappointed when the waiter told me they were out of it. BUT, when told I was a vegetarian, he managed to go back to the kitchen and somehow convince them to make me one - so I got my veggie sandwich. Bonus points to waiter. The only thing is, I'm guessing because they were scarce on supplies, it wasn't as good as I'd imagined ... not a lot of flavor. But still not bad overall. And I LOVED the sweet potato fries. Service was excellent, and it was a totally enjoyable lunch, even though my sandwich wasn't outstanding.
(3)Brad W.
I've always been a huge fan of Parlor Market. The lunch menu is affordable, and everything on it is good. For dinner, the cocktail menu is just ridiculous, and every dish I've tried has been inspired, creative, and totally delicious. Their special events have all been great... I can't say enough good things about this place. It's become the center piece of the revitalization of downtown Jackson.
(5)Leigh Anna B.
Cocktails: a fun list. The one's we had were watered down. If executed better, there are some great concoctions to imbibe. Food: The menu is varied and well edited. More knowledge by the waiter could have helped guide those in our party that were less in-the-know. We ended up selecting several dishes to share. There were some inconsistencies in flavor distribution in the dishes (e.g. mushrooms marinated to flavor overload while the noodles in the dish were flat), but overall it was a good meal.
(3)Krag R.
At PM tonight for anniversary. Ordered the pallella it was a very good twist on the Spanish Main stay. Wife had the goat shank the flavor was awesome! We hat the quail terrine for an appetizer and it was great as well. Recommended. Check in with Yelp and get a free drink "the front porch".
(4)Joshua C.
Great cocktails, good atmosphere (about the only spot downtown on a Tuesday night), great food. The seafood special was especially good. I would come back when I am in Jackson next.
(4)Lori L.
Great place!! Perfect martini. Very adventurous menu but food was incredible. Trust your bartender's recommendations. Service impeccable. Breath of fresh air in a dead downtown!!
(5)Will W.
Just am outstanding place. I had the meatloaf and grits!! Amazing!! Wish they would move to my hometown!!
(5)Steve N.
PM is convenient for me because when I'm in town I stay close by. Turns out it is one of the best places to east in greater Jackson area for fine dining. I usually eat at the bar. The barkeeps remember your name and preferences and are very engaging. The atmosphere is great. It is dark wood and tall ceilings, but the wait staff is so friendly and engaging that it feels very easy going. The food is always very good. I've tried about everything on app/main menu. All of it is very good. The chef has great culinary training and is passionate about expanding the seasonal menu. Don't be surprised if he comes out to you table to talk to you about his latest foodie road trip or latest kitchen gadget. If you are there for lunch, try the burger. It is smoked and I believe they use a roast (w/fat) and the grind it. It is so rich and moist and smoky; it is a stretch to call it a burger, it is awesome. For dinner, you might try a meal or two appetizers for variety. You really can't go wrong. They also have some interesting pre-prohibition cocktails that are fun as well.
(5)Charles F.
Had a very nice dinner tonight. I was impressed withe the menu and atmosphere. Definitely put this on Your list for an upscale meal in Jackson.
(5)Jamie F.
I travel around the country for business - mostly state capitals - and this establishment easily makes my top 10 for dining experiences: rabbit terrine, smoked catfish foie gras, deconstructed lasagna topped with venison heart. Just amazing. The atmosphere, staff, culinary creativity, spin on southern cuisine, and preparation mean that I'll be back as long as they're there. Don't ignore the extensive cocktail menu. Ask for the aged vieux carre, which is not on the menu. Superb!
(5)Dacre K.
Need more of these places in Jackson. Not sure if it needs to be as expensive as it is, but it was worth it. Excellent bar and service. Food was perfect. Hope they can keep it up considering the trying times they have been through.
(5)Trey P.
We had drinks and appetizers before the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra's performance last Saturday and it was the perfect choice. We had the tuna special, the pork cheeks, and the charcuterie. All were very well prepared and just the right amount of food for our evening ahead. The bar choices were well done and quick and Chad gave us the best wait staff experience we've had in awhile. It was a five-star visit!
(5)Asha V.
Wasn't overly impressed by the place or maybe I had really high expectation considering everyone on my flight to Jackson (yes a friendly bunch!) recommended this place. They do have some unique dishes which tasted OK. They do have a good cocktail menu. If you're in Jackson for a few days, this is a place worth checking out just so you can say you've been there! I might give it another try to check out some of their signature dishes.
(3)Dawn W.
A-maz-ing. If you think you might be a foodie and you find yourself in Jackson, this place is a must. Our server, Chad, knew the menu and wine list inside and out while also lacking any pretentiousness. The venison carpaccio and grilled oysters were unbelievable. We liked it so much we tried to go back our second night in Jackson but couldn't get a reservation. While I use yelp when I travel, I JOINED yelp so I could write this review. This place is just that good.
(5)Ted M.
This is food. This is life. The foie gras was a complex, divine, treat. My cocktail was superb. The shrimp cervice was a flavorful treat. Not a bad word could be said. Save up some money and just go.
(5)Karl M.
It is clear that the people working in this restaurant really care about their food. it shows in the quality of the finished dishes and the high quality ingredients. The style is southern mixed with game, not typical comfort food. As farm house food is used in french cuisine this follows a similar approach to bring southern style to game such as venison and rabbit. There are more traditional items on the menu as well for those who are not as adventurous. This must be first on your list when in or near Jackson.
(5)Mike S.
Traveling for work from Dallas. Awesome food and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Great drinks. Worth it.
(4)Pub Grub Z.
Good food. Great atmosphere. Ate at the bar. Service was very poor. Hope it was just a fluke. Will try this place again. Worth a second chance.
(3)Patton T.
I'm an occassional visitor in Jackson, and I enjoy dining out and trying new places. The Parlor Market is without doubt--the best place I have dined at in Jackson! In addition to the creative and delicious food, the wait staff was exceptional. They were never intrusive, but always available to answer questions, very affable, and extremely knowledgeable. I will definitely go back again! Cheers!
(5)Mel G.
had a great meal here. service was informal but excellent . thoroughly enjoyed it!
(5)David D.
Fantastic food! Great atmosphere!
(5)deidre s.
By far the best restaurant in Jackson. The atmosphere is fancy but laid back, dim lighting, has handcrafted drinks behind the bar, and pretty much everything on the menu is BOMB. I'm a big fan of their tenderloin (which is A-MAZING... rivals some of the best steak I've had even in LA!) And the tuna tartar and the oysters are awesome... I find myself saying... OMG... SO GOOD kind of alot here =x One of the few places worth the chunk of change you throw down :)
(5)Natalie G.
I knew I walked in somewhere special when the whole place smelled like bacon! Free cocktail with check in was strong and delicious. I ordered the meatloaf off the lunch menu which ended up being the best meatloaf I've ever had. And yes, when I asked what meat the mix included bacon!
(5)Justin E.
Definitely 5 stars! The food was creative and perfectly prepared. The flavors were outstanding, with each ingredient remaining discernible - which is impressive considering how rich they were. Most of my experience with this type of cooking has been that all the rich components get muddled together. Some of the highlights were the pork belly and hashbrowns, grilled oysters, smoked crab claws, seared sheepshead with cheese grits and roasted brussel sprouts and pork belly, and the New York strip. The preparation and portion sizes made the dishes seem surprisingly light (yes, it's relative). The service was very attentive without being intrusive and the ambiance was quiet and relaxed. This is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. We ate there two nights in a row when we were in town for the marathon. I definitely would go there again. I just have to find a reason to go to Jackson.
(5)Martin C.
Great location, friendly staff, awesome drinks & great food!
(5)Heather M.
The best fried oysters I've ever had! Seriously, I cant get past them to try anything else!
(5)Gregory G.
Many people would say that Jackson Mississippi is not a great place to live and visit, but there are places like this which shows that Jackson is growing, and the downtown life is flourishing with class. Parlor Market is truly an event. I say event because the food wakes up the senses of taste causing an event, a WOW moment. This place is consumed by chefs from many cities which have truly brought their culinary genius with them to mesmerize you, I guaranty that you will leave talking about Parlor Market. The place is small with a very social ambiance, energetic and fun. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye and it was delectable and my desert " The Harvest" with the buttermilk ice cream was to die for, so many good flavors it confused my taste buds. I highly recommend you take someone who appreciates good food, great drinks and great service....
(5)Kurt B.
Everything we had was lick-your-plate good. Wow! Highly recommended. Craig Noonan, the chef, was friendly, and our server was attentive. We had tortilla soup, osso bucco, lamb sugo, and the apple tart for dessert. Yum to the power of ten!
(5)Kim G.
Excellent! One of the best restaurants in Jackson & very fun downtown location! Food & drinks were fantastic and service was very attentive but not overbearing. Pricey but great for a special occasion and the atmosphere made it worth it! Great job. Will recommend to friends.
(5)David C.
Absolutly Awesome... Craig knocked this one out of the park... The smoked Cheddar crusted pork chop, blue plate special was awesome!
(5)K P.
Wonderful place! The food was very good. I had the pork chop and my wife had the tenderloin. Both arrive beautifully plated with delicious sides and perfectly cooked. The meal, service, and atmosphere were wonderful. Downtown Jackson on a Saturday evening is still too quiet, but with places like this there is at least one good reason to visit.

New restaurant--give it a chance. I did. Three bad experiences in a row.

Best place in town! Craig Noone took the Jackson restaurant business by storm with an incredibly different menu compared to what you'll find at other Jackson establishments of comparable cost. Everything from dinner to lunch to Saturday brunch is always delicious, I've never been disappointed.

This is a fine place to eat, and as far as Jackson goes, it may well be in the top five restaurants in town, which is in some ways like saying that someone is the tallest midget. That's not to denigrate PM, but to say that Jackson is probably not even the best restaurant city in the state (Oxford has my vote because of John Currence and its proximity to Taylor Grocery and Phillips in Holly Springs.) I've had supper here twice: rabbit roulade, oysters, a cheese plate, a couple of beers and the trip down memory lane on the first trip, the PM Burger and a beer on the second trip then two lunches (the blue plate special on an odd Friday and the Pork Belly sliders yesterday). The rabbit roulade wasn't spectacular, but the burger was. Both lunches were delicious. What's to like: as much as they can, they seem to make sauces and condiments in house; the service is always good, the bar has an innovative menu of pre-prohibition cocktails, and overall, the food is really very good, they change the menu every season.

Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks loved it. General tao's pork belly was the beast.

What a great place to eat amazing food and have extremely creative and tasty drinks! High-end southern food at its finest! The ambiance and decor have a modern and comfortable touch. Parlor Market is a wonderful place to come with friends and have a great time. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I live in Chicago, surrounded by amazing restaurants and I could absolutely see Parlor Market succeeding here. I'm jealous that it's in Jackson, MS and not in Chicago! My only slightly negative comment is the waiting area could use some work at being a little more inviting and comfortable.
