Okay, full disclosure: I love this place in a ridiculous way. It's not fancy, nice, or even particularly clean. If you're heading to F. Jones though, you're not going somewhere where you're trying to be fancy. You just wanna dance to some blues and have a damn good time. And you WILL. F. Jones is THE late night spot in Jackson. I'm not even entirely sure what time this place opens. I think it's 10 or 11? I know if you get there before midnight most nights, you can avoid paying cover. BUT, I don't think I've ever showed up before midnight. This place pops off past midnight. This is where everyone heads once the other bars are closing, so everyone has usually already had a couple drinks. (PS, take an UBER! Do not drink and drive!) There is always live music-- typically some very Mississippi blues act. Everyone is dancing and having such a good time on the dance floor. The bar is dark, smoky, and crowded. It's VERY Mississippi. Outside, they are usually smoking some hot dogs, burgers, BBQ. It's cheap and delicious, and usually JUST what you need at that time of the night. The drinks are cheap. Cover to get in is usually $10, and you can get beers as cheap as $2 or $3 usually. F. Jones is definitely not an EVERY night type of thing. I mean, it's a LATE night. But every now and then, it's a really good time and definitely worth your while. Go get your dance on, y'all.

Visited a friend for the weekend to attend the St. Patrick's Day parade.....and it was a wash. Like it literally rained the entire Saturday. But that didn't stop the party. We headed over the "F Jones" for some after hour shenanigans and I'm pretty sure I danced from the time I hit the door until we tip toed out at 4am. Just all around great ppl no matter the color of your skin. We all were there for one thing and one thing ONLY...to have a good time and that we did. Blues music at its best....and the live band.....AMAZING. I mean when you can play Purple Rain live from on top of the bar and have women giving up there spot in the line for the restroom so not to miss the experience...that speaks volumes. I'm already planning my next trip back and I'll have my full crew of girls with me....its definitely the place to go when in Jackson.

I've only gone for the late night and it is a great blues juke joint that stays open up until the wee hours of 4am and later. Pretty good BBQ (say what's up to JuJu!) and a full bar. The big drawbacks is that it's small and smoky, but even then, it only lends to the atmosphere. Great start to the revitalization of Farish Street!

I went here for lunch. I hope to someday experience F. Jones for blues! But anyway, all I can review is the food and atmosphere in the afternoon. BEST BBQ I'VE EVER HAD!! Whoever said Memphis had the best BBQ has not been to Frank Jones Corner in Jackson, MS. It was so delicious, sauce wasn't even needed, but of course I had sauce, because that was good enough to eat with a spoon!! Also, try their fried grits. Amazing! I'm not even a big fan of grits, but these are a must have. Just watch out, you'll be hooked. I may have dreams about this food. I wish I lived closer. They had a variety of items on their menu, including pasta, and they all looked good. Prices were very reasonable, in fact compared to food up north, pretty darn cheap! The atmosphere was a small bar. I hesitate to say dive bar, because it is a recent renovation. Dives to me sort of mean run down. This is not. Its a nice place, but not a classy sit down romantic meal type place. During the blues lunch while I was there, the music was also great. I met and talked to the owner, and some other employees. it was a very pleasant and enjoyable afternoon. He is looking forward to revitalizing Jackson, he is doing his part. That is a very worthy goal, I fell in love with this city. F.Jones doesn't have the history that Peaches and Mayflower has, but I guarantee the building does. The owner and other employees will be happy to share it with you! I hope that you will visit this wonderful gem in Jackson!

The only place open till the sun comes up in Jackson! Great music, great people, no matter the color of your skin or passport... and the owners love to hang out during the day, tell their story, shoot the shit. They always remember a face and sometimes a drink. Real people real place to hang when your here from out of town like me ( here on business from LA). don't mess around and go. No black, no white, just the blues.

Great place for lunch during the week. The sweet potato fries are wonderful, and the burgers are good. Onion rings also very delicious. Tip- they deliver for free to anywhere downtown.

I really like this place. I am from New Orleans so this is a way of life where I live. I would come to Jackson and really miss the music...and the food. I thought of Jackson as this boring place. Thank goodness I found this place and Farish St. I really do wish the city the best in developing the area. From what I saw It is not going to be an easy fix. I am encouraged that the city is approaching it in a smart way. There seems to be some really good people behind the effort. The idea that you can drink out on the street like in New Orleans is great. The police does its part by patrolling the area fairly consistently. You see an investment. It would be great to restore the area for a place with such rich cultural history should not just fade away forever. And the city needs this to grow its downtown and have more people want to come to it. The downtown area in general is just so sad! I do not know if they can clean up the surrounding area and get rid of the drug dealers and hoodlums that criss-cross the area. I did not feel safe walking more than a block in any direction. It would be interesting to know the crime stats for this street. You are safe if you stick to the the street. And your car will be safe. Like I said... police are constantly driving around. About the Corner....It is a dive. In a good way. The food is something that you would never expect. It is really delicious. And the people at the bar are all nice. At nice it is a nice music joint where you will se all kinds of people. From people dressed in suits and nice party dresses to people decked out to party to jeans and t-shirts. Black and white. And other sometime exotic types. It is a friendly kind of place. If you go late at night there will be this character outside grilling hot dogs and burgers. His name is Juju. He is a recovered substance abuser that has gotten his act together and works there every night withstanding freezing temperatures, rain or shine. He has a little fridge stocked with beer and will fix you a quirky kind of burger that is a creation of his. Different but not bad at all. His hot dogs are good too. Comes in handy when it is 2 or 3 am and nothing is else is open around there. I also felt safe around him. I just know he would look out for me in a pinch.I try to tip him good. He deserves it anyway. Don't laugh ...I am a girl traveling alone in a place I do not know. Juju would laugh if he heard me! OH! I almost forgot to mention it. On Thursdays, Juju plays the drums in front of the place. I am sure he is pretty good... I just have not heard him ....yet.
