Banner Hall is filled with all kinds of shops and the bookstore, I love going to Broadstreet on a lazy sunday or on any day of the week for lunch. Every day they offer a different soup and quiche (it's always nice to have options!). Their bake case is filled with delicious and beautifully crafted treats. I noticed last time I came they have biscones (biscuit + scone) OMG say no more. I wasn't able to get one but I definitely will next time. I had a turkey wrap. So. Good. The cream cheese sauce on the inside just makes it. I had a side of chicken + sausage gumbo - good choice. I would definitely have that again. The service was great and helpful and our food came to us quickly. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite in the Jackson area

Located in Banner Hall, which is up in North Fondren off the Interstate, Broad Street Baking Company is a great place to grab lunch with colleagues or hang out for a bit to get some work done while drinking some coffee and eating some great food! The food here is really pretty good. It's standard cafe fare-- think sandwiches, salads, baked goods. I'm a big fan of the salads in particular. They switch up the menu and always have a good blue plate special going on. The coffee isn't anything amaaaazing but it's pretty good! Around Mardi Gras, they always have a King Cake coffee which I must admit I'm a big fan of. The atmosphere is really nice. Within the cafe, there are lots of booths and tables you can sit at with a small or medium sized group easily. Tons of windows and light make the whole place feel really open and pleasant. Just outside, there is some patio seating and inside Banner Hall there are lots of tables you can sit at as well. Just upstairs, is Lemuria-- Jackson's greatest bookstore, for sure.

Definitely the best gumbo I've had in Jackson! The turkey and Brie panini on multigrain bread is also very tasty! I got the food to go and it was still warm by the time I got home. I'm coming back here for sure! Highly recommend this place.

Great place for breakfast/brunch. Went there today and got chicken and waffles with a vanilla latte. The meal was quite delicious. Their coffee drinks aren't top notch or anything, but they're usually pretty good. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is always clean.

Definitely one of the best finds in Jackson. Great place for breakfast---their hashbrown casserole is a must try if you want a good kick to your morning. Their lunch/dinner options are great, as well. Any sandwich made with the focaccia bread is a god send. If you have an Eat JXN card, you can buy one dessert and get another free. Their cheesecake is unlike any other I've ever tried.

Broad Street has been one of my favorite restaurants in the Jackson area my whole life. I honestly get the same thing 98% of the time--a turkey sandwich on their absolutely delicious focaccia bread--but their pasta in some of the best in the area as well. The overall atmosphere of this cafe is pretty great, being right next to the best bookstore in Jackson--Lemuria. Though their coffee may be lacking, they make up for it in delicious sweets and breads that are always new and changing. They also have a great loyalty punch card that gets you a free cookie, drink, loaf of bread, and sandwich. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a good sandwich and/or pasta.

My husband graduated last week and he's moving back to California. This bakery is going to be missed! Everything is fresh and tasty from the sandwiches, pastas and baked goods. The staff is friendly. It is a bit pricey but it takes a lot of love to bake all that goodness. They just don't make biscuits like this in California. I'm also going to miss the sandwiches. Particularly the oyster Po'Boy. The bread was a great vessel for the remoulade, lettuce, tomatoes and lightly fried oysters. I had the catfish too before but it was dry. It definitely needed some remoulade or mayo in there. Tiger sauce would've been perfect for it. They have it at the condiment bar which I only noticed on my last visit. It is always so crowded I just usually head for the nearest available seating. My husband raves about the focaccia. Please open one in California!!

I absolutely love this place! It's a super fun atmosphere with Lemuria being so close. The food, especially the pasta, is off the charts! Also, great place for breakfast. My parents always request to go here whenever they're in town. Fresh homemade bread everyday? I'll take it.

Thank you Yelp family for guiding me here during a recent Deep South road trip! The raves and accolades about this place are definitely on point! I came during busy lunch hour expecting a long wait but the lines moved quickly allowing me to get a better view of the awesome desert selection. I ordered way too many cookies and finished half of them off by the time my sandwich was ready. That sandwich was PERFECTION! I had the smoked chicken BLT which was huge! Unfortunately that and the cookies had me ready for a post-lunch snooze, which was fine with me since it was time for a driver switch anyway. Definitely worth the detour off of I-20!

Slip sliding away! Once "a clean, well lighted place" with good eats at fair prices and an attentive staff has fallen and can't get up. My last two visits found the restaurant dirty and chaotic and the food blah Sysco lackluster and over priced! There probably won't be a next time! Sniffle, sniffle. Broad Street, you had a good run, time to repave or close.

I wasn't impressed with these po'boys. They weren't anything like a traditional sandwich and they were very skimpy on the amount of catfish they put in the sandwich. The bread was pretty thick and dry making it hard to eat. I would choose a different restaurant for a po'boy. However, they are decent for breakfast and they have a good bakery selection.

After one visit, I was ready to give 4 stars (despite them getting my order wrong). After 2 visits (and trying the terrible chicory coffee), I am going with a solid 3. The sausage egg cheese biscuit sandwiches were excellent. Took a bite of the blueberry muffin which was also great. Their regular coffee is not bad either. Should I be in the area again, I'd be up for round 3.

Great little bakery/cafe just off the interstate in Jackson, MS. Stopped in on my way to Memphis. Quick service, clean space, friendly staff, a good sized menu (sandwiches, soups, salads, a few entrees, and lots of yummy desserts to choose from), and decent prices. It was busy so I imagine its a pretty popular place. Several of my coworkers got the open-faced grilled cheese which they all said was delicious.

This is my favorite restaurant hands down and my default when I can't decide where I want to eat. I've never been disappointed. I have to admit though, I STILL special order the turkey and avocado sandwich that was on the old menu (how many years ago was that?). No offense to the new menu because it's great too!

$12 for a bland Sysco deli meat sandwich (All of them). That's simply absurd. This place is fine for baked goods and breads, but don't expect to get a good sandwich here. They get a 2nd star for serving Zapp's chips.

I had the a wrap, and in retrospect, that was a poor choice at a restaurant that bakes it's own bread! The wrap was only average; however, I had a bite of my son's grilled cheese and it was good. The gumbo was great - that was the best part of my lunch. Also, they have peach-mango iced tea that was fantastic! We couldn't leave without sampling the baked goods - in our group we tried the M&M cookies, lemon bar and rasberry crumble bar. They were all delicious. I would stop here again and try a sandwich rather than a wrap - the tea and baked goods would be worth another trip for me.

Always get breakfast here every Sunday. It's always ready and waiting. 99% of the time it's exactly how I ordered it. They have the best cheesecake in jackson. It's not so rich that it makes you nauseated. Staff is almost always friendly and helpful. Only thing that will get on your nerves are some of the customers...this place is small so it gets crowded.

A decent little spot off the freeway. When travelling, I do not like eating at chains and do like supporting the locals businesses in the area. My mom, my son and myself ate here one morning and I did like it. I had a ham, egg & cheese croissant. It DID take a little bit for it to come out, but once it did, it was super hot and very good. My mom and son both has a cinnamon and muffin and they has positive reviews as well. A nice change of pace from typical Southern food. A good spot and highly recommended.

Ordered the lasagna and blackened chicken sandwich to go.. The lasagna was 100 % sausage and cheese.. For a health nut like me I just couldn't handle all these layers of sausage and cheese! There was no tomato sauce and barely any noodle! How can you call that a lasagna?! The bread that came with it was more edible than my entree! The chicken sandwich was okay.. It said there was supposed to avocado, but there was none! It was like a big chunk of chicken with some tomatoes and some sauce... While I appreciate them not being cheap on the meat, it is not something one would expect from a cafe!

A must when stopping in Jackson(why are you in Jackson? besides living here). Great bread! Great coffee! What more could you ask for when stopping in for a casual brunch/lunch? One of the owners (Jeff Good) is a great guy and he's really supportive of local radio stations which gives some that warm fuzzy feeling......... But in all seriousness, definitely one of the most fresh/best stops in the Jackson Metro area.

Came here today in search of breakfast and an excuse to use my Eat Jxn card, but apparently they don't serve breakfast after 10:30... (what is this McDonald's?.... .fineeee.....) So i opted for the quiche on the recommendation of the register guy with a side of the mint fruit? The fruit was kinda MEH, I think I was expecting like a preety side w/ like mint leaves or something, but it was more like a watery minty mixed bowl of fruit... BUT the quiche was not bad! I actually gobbled it up pretty fast even at the glares from the neighboring fam =x It came w/ a piece of sliced grain bread which was good (next time maybe a small swipe of butter and toasted por favor?) :) But overall I was satisfied! The place is pretty busy w/ the post church crew on Sundays around noonish but the wait wasn't even that bad! Overall A-Ok! O yeah and I forgot to use my Eat JXN card.... so i guess i have an excuse to go back and check out the rest of the menu =x

Broad Street and I are going through a really bad breakup. The kind that makes you rethink why you hate it so much, so you give it another shot, only to be completely and totally let down. The service here is absolutely terrible. I dread going to the cafe and dining in. I'd rather deal with the crappy phone service just long enough to order (which they will almost always get wrong in some way). Don't plan on calling in anything anywhere near 8pm, because this is when they close. If you call at 7:30, they reluctantly take your order, and with a heavy sigh remind you (multiple times) that they close in 30 minutes. On the last visit, my boyfriend ordered the Contadino Wrap, which is listed on the menu as having spinach, roasted peppers and onions, provolone, and mushrooms. What he got was a wrap full of luke-warm mushrooms and literally one tiny piece of spinach, with no provolone in sight. We sent it back and the server was absolutely confused about what was wrong with it, even when we showed him the inside of the wrap. A few minutes later, he came back with another wrap just like the first, but this time with two grilled onions. When our server notice that he didn't eat the second wrap, he seemed so confused. He asked us twice what was wrong with it, and even after we explained, he just shrugged, walked off, and never came back to our table. This was only the most recent bad experience I've had--all the others would take more space than is available here. Other than the terrible service and hit or miss sandwich and wrap menu, the pastries and coffee are good.

It was my first morning in Jackson and I needed a quick breakfast. I discovered Broad Street. I grabbed a mocha muffin and coffee. That muffin was delicious. Very moist with a great coffee and chocolate flavor. Later in my trip to Jackson, I needed a place to get away from my hotel room for a while to get some work done. Broad Street has internet and food so I headed right over. I grabbed a hot tea and got some work done in the morning hours. Then lunch time rolled around so I got a southwest wrap. Now being from Texas I was a little weary getting a "Mexican" flavored dish in Mississippi. But it sounded so good so I gave it a try. It was delicious! Very good flavor. I really liked the cream cheese to cool it down a little. I got a side salad which was also very tasty. The employees were all very friendly and didn't try to get me to leave early even when I was staying very close to closing time. I highly recommend for breakfast and lunch.

I am a huge fan of this place. I have eaten lunch several times from here. The veggie quiche is absolutely fabulous. Their tossed green salad with their vinegarette dressing is always fresh and tasty. They offer an assortment of baked goods which I have yet to try. They also offer lunch specials during the week for usually under $10. I highly recommend the quiche!

I really do love Broad Street. Not only is the food great, it is right around the corner from my house, so we are here just about every weekend. They have a huge selection of bread, pastries, cakes, etc. Lunch is good, dinner is OK. There are some nights when there is hardly anyone eating here for dinner and I think that throws them off their game a bit, so the food isn't as good as it is at lunch. I keep teetering back and forth on 3 and 4 stars. On one hand, the prices are high, the pastries can be inconsistent, and the service can be slow... But, on the other hand, you have a great selection, the quality of ingredients seems high, the staff is nice (Jeff does a good bit for the community as well), and when they get everything right, the food is outstanding. I suppose, since I do have about 5 fully filled out "frequent dinner" cards in my wallet (i.e. I am here a lot), I will have to go for four stars!

Great breakfast. Good pastries. Good cookies. Good sandwiches. Good pizzas. Great gumbo. Kids eat free on Saturday nights, I think. Some might argue that it's a bit on the pricey side. I think it's a local business that's committed to paying its workers well. That's worth supporting with a couple of extra dollars.

Two words: chicken biscuit! Biscuits were amazing(soft and pillowy), fried chicken was perfect and the maple glaze was outstanding. This was my Hubbies first chicken biscuit ever and I am so happy it was here. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction Yelpers:)

Usually this is a great place to eat. However I must agree with another reviewer on the poboy sandwich . It was not very good. Too much sauce. It turned into a very messy meal. Bread was not your normal po boy bun and aided in making the sandwich messy. I stopped at the cookie counter on the way out. The blueberry cream cookies and cowboy cookies absolute best I have ever eaten.

Went here twice while on a visit. I first dropped in after looking at yelp reviews and had to wait for 30 minutes for a waffle that came out undercooked, no texture and four blackberries after paying 2 dollars extra for fruit. Everything seems pre-made and reheated. The eggs on the biscuit sandwich seemed like they were made days ago and the biscuit itself was mushy probably from being refrigerated for god knows how long. Also the ham and cheese quiche was rancid- really inedible- salty, mushy and watery on the inside (again undercooked) and the crust was also soft with no texture. The food here is nightmarish and their standards of quality are so low I don't understand how this place can be busy. On the plus side the coffee is good and the service was decent- the manager gave us gift cards after making us wait so long.

I love this place when Im visiting my hometown! The coffee is always fresh, the food is hot and fresh, and the staff is so informative and helpful. My favorite is the cheese grits for breakfast but its a great place for breakfast on the go or a sit-down breakfast menu. They also catered my baby shower and it was wonderful. It was so good, people are still talking about it and that was over 2 years ago.

Great place! Great food and terrific selection of baked goods to take home. Locally owned with owners who strive to keep everything in tip top shape and who have great communication with all their customers. Stop in and get coffee and a muffin in the morning, swing in for lunch to get a tasty sandwich using their fresh baked bread and the best ingredients they can get, or go by on the way home to get a loaf of bread to use with dinner. The roast beef and cheese sandwich on sourdough is great and the little chocolate mousse cup is awesome. Also the chocolate croissant is very tasty. Pepsi products :( but the sweet tea is good. Always will be a faithful customer. You can't go wrong with any of the choices Broad Street has.

Today I had the country sausage quiche. The custard was creamy but there was not enough filling. This made the dish a bland egg custard pie. My husband got the breakfast burrito. It looked really pitiful when it came out. Too much tortilla for the amount of filling again. Bland. Could use some grilled onions & peppers to spice it up. It was eggs & some sausage with a side of Sysco picante sauce. If you are looking for a good breakfast burrito try Primos!

I can only come up with one word: "Delectable." Salads are great! and keep your tummy satisfied. I love the employees corny, bread-themed t-shirts with "Challah-Back Girl." Everytime I approach the counter to order, I always end up staring at the scrumptious-looking desserts right under the cash register. Great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

You never realize what you miss until you're gone and moved seven states away. I guess this is yet another local spot that I've come to look on with nostalgia. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by the smell of baking bread and soup. This is a great place for lunch or dinner as you get soup, salad and a sandwich or if you want something different... try a healthy-sized slice of quiche with a mixed green salad.

Eat here often for lunch! Used to be my favorite study spot. Never disappointed!

One of my absolute favorites in Jackson for breakfast and lunch - and increasingly for dinner. Freshly baked breads, good coffee, and great quiches.

I have been a few times and the staff acted like they could not be bothered. I have not returned

There are plenty of places that sell pasties, bread, etc. but this one is great! Their foccacia bread is delicious but also try their grain types like Challah. Yum!

Great selection of breads and baked goods. A popular lunch spot with soup, salads and sandwiches on fresh baked bread. They also have pizza, pastas and great desserts. They do catering.
