No cones or toppings, but high quality local ice cream with seasonal flavors. I had 1 scoop of the caramelized banana and 1 scoop of the brown sugar coconut; both were excellent. It's not cheap either: almost $3 for 1 scoop and $5 for 2.

Their ice cream is amazing! Came here while visiting family and I would definitely come back given the chance. I had the bourbon butter pecan- soooo good. My mom had the mocha fudge brownie, aunt had brown sugar coconut, and my cousin had the one called donut cake (or cake donut). All of them were so good.

Great new addition to Hernando! They change their flavors to suit local food availability, so don't look for a menu online. So far we've had the Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Fudge Swirl, and tonight I had the Bourbon Butter Pecan. It was delish! They are nice enough to let you try everything, so definitely get tastes before you pick. They also make cookies from scratch for handscooped ice cream sandwiches. I can't wait til they offer cones!

Yum Yum! It is just fabulous that Hernando has such a quality and delicious ice cream shop. The ice cream is amazing. I hope eventually that they will expand their dining area and offer cones and things as business picks up. The ice cream is especially delicious and made with quality ingredients and they have awesome flavor combinations. I would recommend this place to everyone that likes ice cream.

Area 51, oh how I love thee! Let me count the ways....... 1. Caramelized Banana 2. Blackberry & Goat Cheese 3. Salted Caramel 4. Guinness Stout Milk Chocolate 5. Pontotoc Peach Ice Cream OR Sorbet 6. Bourbon Butter Pecan 7. Saigon Cinnamon Snickerdoodle 8. Cedar Hill Strawberry 9. Any and all of the baked goods 10. Well you get the point, it's all good! If you find yourself within a fifty mile ratios of Hernando Mississippi do yourself a favor and give Area 51 a try. Everything is made in house with local ingredients and is worth every calorie.

This place was a pleasant surprise. I love the name and logo for this place, but even more so, love the ice cream! They have fun and unusual flavors and I would love to try all these fun creations. I got a scoop of the Saigon Cinnamon Snickerdoodle and a scoop of Caramelized Banana ice cream, which tasted like bananas foster, yum! They also do an awesome float with Orange Crush and lemon ice cream; also good. The staff is also friendly. I'd strongly recommend this place to any ice cream lover.

This local ice cream eatery was so quaint. The staff were quick and very friendly. I had a scoop of the chocolate chip mint and blueberry clobber ice cream. It was delicious. I can't wait to take my son.

The Bourbon Butter Pecan was creamy and rich and was enhanced by a cup of ReVerb coffee. The staff was courteous and helpful allowing us to taste the flavors and make a choice.

Traveled 40 minutes to celebrate National Ice Cream Day at Area 51 Ice Cream....the flavors and creamy textures are definitely out of this world! Brown sugar notes in the coconut combines with the gooey brownie chunks in the mocha chocolate gives your mouth an adventure of a mounds bar on steroids! Add a cup of the local reverb coffee to the mix and your mouth will have happiness for days!

I'm not a huge ice cream person, and when I get it I just like plain vanilla. This place has my faaavorite vanilla ice cream. Not sure what it is about it... but I find myself going way out of my way to go to Hernando just for Area 51... often.

I was there on Friday , February 27 with my mom. We had the chocolate sorbet with brown sugar coconut. It was amazing! We also had a chocolate chip cookie, they even make the chocolate chips themselves. We got to tour the kitchen also and were given samples of the blood oranges they were juicing for their blood orange sorbet they were getting ready to make. It was such an unexpected pleasure. I will definitely go back and bring friends with me.

High quality artisan ice cream in Mississippi you say? You betcha! Absolutely delicious, creamy ice cream with some unique flavors. Ingredients come from local sources like the nearby farmer's market in Hernando. There are no toppings or cones, but when you have ice cream this good and pure, you don't need to muck it up with such things. They also have some pretty tasty homemade cookies as well. Best ice cream I have had in a long time. If you love ice cream, you will love Area 51.
