This is awesome!! Great good and good prices! The waiter Jordan is awesome! You must come ask for her! I love the way this place gives you a Japanese vibe! From the serving of the food to the decor. I love it. This is my new fav place and I will be coming back! Yesssssss!

I rank this place as my favorite Japanese restaurant even after living near DC and in Denver. The food is so delicious. I love the prices and the amount of food you get. The service is excellent. The reason this place is my favorite is that Yum Yum sauce. Good gracious, I love you. Go for lunch. Get the bento box!

The food here is awesome. The sushi is good. The bento boxes are cute and there is plenty in them. The miso and onion soups were hot and good. The service was pretty good. Our waiter was nice but he had too many tables and told us he was too busy to get chopsticks for kids. That being said we were not neglected and our drinks were refilled. The waiter did seem a little annoyed we were drinking so much water (we'd been out walking for hours in downtown Hattiesburg). We will go back. There were handwritten signs saying now hiring serverd on the door.

Ate here 4 times already and have never been let down once. The interior of the building have a nice atmosphere and the food is amazing as well as the price. It seems no matter what roll I order they put everything in their decoration.

AWESOME food. Visit at least once a month. Great prices on sushi. Affordable kids menu. Service is very slow. Last time we went there was only one other table and our food took forever. Great place.

Great food presentation. Now the rest of the review. Poor service. Very slow service. The restaurant was only 1/4 full, so not really due to being busy. Had to send beverage glass back as it was covered in pink lip stick. Table was not fully stocked with condiments, napkins etc. The food though very nice presented was not fresh. The sashimi still partially frozen. The tuna had a fishy smell. The rice was a little hard in texture. Very disappointed.

I've visited this place twice now in the couple of weeks and I can only echo what others have posted. The decor is very attractive and relaxing. Their wait staff and sushi chefs are very friendly and make great suggestions. The sushi, in presentation and variety, is like none other in Hattiesburg. Their hibachi is great and reasonably priced. I had filet mignon and scallops for a late lunch at $13.99. The scallops were perfect and the filet was very tender. Although, I'm a little disappointed I couldn't watch them make it. They have a setup to the left of the sushi bar but, there weren't any stools. My only critique on the food would be that because of the way the meat is cut, it comes out a little more done than what you order. I had my filet cooked medium and there were more than a few pieces nearly well done. Don't get me wrong, it still tasted great but, I should have gone with my gut on medium rare.

My wife and I LOVE sushi, and so were disappointed when we arrived in Hattiesburg and found the sushi restaurants lacking. We got an ad in the mail for the grand opening of Yamato, and we decided to try it. It was AMAZING! The food itself was very good. Lots of variety, and the sushi tasted very fresh. (Note, although we didn't try it, the restaurant also offers Hibachi and some other dishes). The food was also beautiful; it was prepared in an artistic way that made us more exciting about eating it. The atmosphere was very nice as well. The restaurant just opened, and so everything was brand new and clean. The service was very good. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant. As far as I can tell, it has the best sushi in Hattiesburg, MS.

Good food. Great prices. I'm sure once they get their liquor licence they will be the best Japanese place in town.

Delicious sushi and hibachi at decent prices! Very excited to have them in Hattiesburg. They're the only sushi place in town that serves bento boxes all day, plus they have a drive-thru!
