Old fashioned, no nonsense pit stop with good food. I had the bbq sampler with pulled pork and it was good. Don't expect too much with decoration and service, but that shouldn't be the reason why you would eat at this place. Try their bean and cold slaw sides, I thought they were great. Skip their fries, I thought they were under cooked and bland. I will have to try their ribs next time.

Charging prices are ridiculous. Buddy paid $8 for just an "okay" cheeseburger. Going other places.

I am on Camp Shelby doing some training and decided to give this place a go. A Texan recommended it, which says something! I ordered delivery and got the pulled pork sandwich combo with fries and baked beans. My order arrived after about 20 minutes, and the food was still piping hot. The fries weren't super crisp, but then it was delivered, so I didn't expect them to be. The beans were hot and tasted really good. The pork was a bit dry, but had a deep smoke flavor. Adding the included sauce took care of the dry issue, and made the sandwich pretty good! The driver was friendly, and even though he didn't know exactly where I was, got my order to me quickly. All in all, I'll definitely be a repeat customer when I'm in the area!

Some of the best barbecue in the south and I'm from Memphis where we do cooking contests and known for our jazz and barbecue. I recommend this little cozy spot for anyone passing thru Hattisburgh/Camp Shelby, MS. I live in Biloxi, MS but work at Camp Shelby, MS and I eat here damn near every day for lunch. I usually have the catfish basket or the rib platter both excellent choices only thing is they don't make the tea sweet enough if they did I would give this place 5 stars but other then that I give this business a 4.5 stars out of 5. This is a must stop if you passing thru

This place is tiny. If you go at peak lunch, you WILL be surrounded by hot, sweaty men. It's right outside an Army post. But once you get in, order whatever is on special, and you WILL enjoy it. Service is not quick, and sometimes someone will accidentally take your order when it comes to the window, but you have to put up with that for good food. Check out the wall paper in the bathroom. "Tell em LARGE MARGE sent ya!"

Exactly what you expect out of a small town backwoods BBQ joint. The place is small with a home feel to it, but the food is amazing. All smoked BBQ with great choices from the menu. Don't expect a chain restaurant environment. Expect great BBQ at a reasonable price. I will come back for sure.

Very convenient location from Camp Shelby, MS...right outside the South Gate. I ordered the brisket/chicken platter (it wasn't an option on the menu but he let me have both). It came with a good amount of food for $10, got brisket, chicken, 2 slices of garlic toast, french fries, beans and cole slaw. The brisket did not live up to my expectations but that's because I lived in Texas for 5 years where brisket is the state meat there. The brisket here seemed like a thinly sliced roast beef, and I am used to the thick slices of brisket that melt in your mouth. But i still enjoyed it and the BBQ sauce was good. My coworkers really enjoyed their pulled pork sandwiches. And as others have stated, this place is not fancy at all.

I ate lunch here. Pulled pork doesn't get much better than this. It has a lightly smoked taste and was properly moist. Too many people dry it out when they cook it, but not these folks. The sauce is spicy, sweet and has a slightly fruity taste. It's a little different, but it's good. They also have the classic pepper and vinegar sauce for the traditionalists. Additionally, I had their beans and they were excellent. About the ambiance. It's classic "middle of nowhere" spartan. A few booths and a lot of bench seating. The bathrooms are not air conditioned and the men's room is papered entirely with the end flaps from Barg's root beer cartons. That's ok with me, but I can see where the more sensitive might find the facilities wanting. A small price to pay for such fine pulled pork in my opinion. The person who took our order and the person who brought it out were very friendly. The prices seemed very reasonable to me. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this place.

We ate here. Had baby back ribs which were tough. All in all the place was expensive, food was bland. Nightclub next door was loud.
