First don't let the fact that this place is inside a gas station because the food is very good! We visited Rose's while visiting family and needed a quick place to eat. When you walk in there is a huge selection of food to choose from- they have anything you could possibly want and more- even crawfish! The crawfish is amazing and might be some of the best I've ever eaten! My husband had the brisket and said it was good! I had a chicken on the stick which is so good! It had a thick batter that was seasoned and crisp. My son loved the potato wedges and wanted them everyday we were there! When we visit again we will definitely be stopping in to eat!

Rose's Bar-B-Q is a well kept secret by the locals although it has garnered a large base of soldiers from nearby Camp Shelby, Police, Fire, and local city workers. It has various barbeque dishes including chicken, pork, beef, turkey legs, sides and other fantastic things like chicken-on-a-stick, which is a kabob with chicken, onion, pickle & potato which is deep fried. Hamburgers, sausages, fries and the like are also on the menu. There is more room for dining in at the tables then there are parking spots in front of this converted gas station.

The sauce is the boss! Best BBQ I've had. Consistently good at reasonable price.

Our party of 8 visited Rose's on a Saturday for lunch. We love to patronize local restaurants. We've met really great owners and had some delicious food. Places like this usually have personable, kind, friendly people behind the counter; yet nothing could be further from the truth about this restaurant. Our entire experience was marred by employees who were absolutely horrid in behavior. The communication was antagonistic and unpleasant. The young girl taking our order was rolling her eyes, sighing loudly when we didn't answer a question quickly enough, and was that way with everyone she encountered. When a gentleman suggested the tea was old/bad, she retorted "I don't care, if she doesn't like it, get something else." Food wise, the fish, bbq and chicken were once good, but sitting under a heat lamp for hours does nothing but dry out the flavor. As we were eating, the young girl came over with a towel and dipped it in a nearby cleaning bucket and began cleaning tables around us. Water slopping everywhere, she spoke rudely to several people within earshot. Behavior like this is unacceptable. We recommend you keep driving, and at the very least, recommend Rose hire some folks that know, and demonstrate, hospitality and courtesy.

Food was precooked and served cold to me. I might have came at a bad time, but didn't particularly like their chicken or the spicy cajun corn. The ribs were good and the bbq was great. If the food was served hot and chicken not overcooked, maybe it would have tasted great. The location is inside a convenience store or gas station store. The place has ample seating but parking is limited. I tried ordering a little bit of everything but had to throw out most of the chicken and corn. I compare all my BBQ chicken and pork ribs to Brooks BBQ in Oneonta, NY. This place comes no where close to the quality but I have to admit, their sauce is in my top 5 of BBQ sauces.

For a gas station that serves BBQ, in a word "amazing "!! We had the brisket, chicken on a stick and tater logs.. Had both corn nuggets, mustard and loaded baked potato salad.. Crawfish weekends!! We had a sample and was good as the coast!

Wow. This is the best bbq we've had in years- maybe ever. How many ways can I say, "Yum!!!"? We had the drummer plate and pork sandwich. So good! I can't wait to come back. This will be our go-to bbq place, even though it's quite a drive from our house. Oh- and they cater, too!

Convenience store gas station made into a BBQ joint. It has seating and limited parking. Don't let that detour you from some good BBQ. I would not drive by with out checking it out.

Excellent BBQ. Well smoked, nice sides, great value. Don't let the quick - Mart look deter you. This is not a "date" place. But if you want good BBQ quick, try Rose's.

Rose's has easily the best pork spareribs I have ever put in my mouth. This is not a statement I make lightly, or one that is not done having frequented only a few BBQ joints. I have been to easily over 100 barbecue restaurants from Kansas City to Houston Texas to Memphis Tennessee to Raleigh North Carolina. Even the famed dinosaur barbecue in Syracuse, New York doesn't hold a candle to this little dive in Hattiesburg Mississippi. Somehow rose's has figured out the perfect combination of smoke, sauce, spices and meat so that their spareribs melt in your mouth leaving an aftertaste of pure culinary perfection. If you're looking for a super upscale or chic establishment, this is really not for you. Roses is essentially a gas station and the convenient store that also sells some of the best smoked meat and barbecue on the planet.

Came here to get gas as well, given that the place is also a gas station. Don't let that fool you, the food is pretty good. The seating area was small and dirty, but I guess you don't come here for the ambiance. I had the beef ribs, tendered greens and potato logs. The potato logs were just large potato wedges. They were good and had a lot of just raw potato. The tendered greens were not great. They seemed to not be fresh. The ribs were good. What made them good was Rose's sweet BBQ sauce, which is located at every table. All in all, it was a good meal, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here.

This is a convenience store gas station turned hickory smoke BBQ joint. It has seating, but really just for the weak people who can't make it out of the store before they have to shove a morsel of goodness into their face. A great "To Go" place.... if your driving HWY 49 and need a pit stop not only for your car but your belly, this is the place to hit. Fast, good and fair priced...The cashiers, yes I said cashiers not waitresses do a great job. Tried the loaded bake potatoes salad, creamy and chunky all at the same time. The food is there on display as stated by other reviews, but from what I see the inventory moves fast and is rotated rather quickly. Worth the stop.

Got sausage dog. It wasn't bad. Drummets were dried out.bbq doesn't even look that appetizing.

The ribs were great but the chicken and turkey were very dry. The sweet potato tots and fried potato logs were yummy. We'd eat there again. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean. They serve premade tea (wish it was fresh sweet tea!)

I have eaten everything on the menu. If you like fried food, this is the place to go. They even have fried corn on the cob! I think the fried chicken breast is the best item on the menu. The Roasted Chicken is good, but alittle dry. The sausage is excellent. The sweet BBQ sauce is good, but really doesn't lend itself as necessary.
