In August, my husband and I were in town, visiting family and stayed near this location. We enjoyed our treats so much, we went back the next day! I had the Pecan Fudge Brownie with extra nuts. Heavenly! The location we dined at was across the street from Southern Mississippi University, so I'm sure their staff was made up of students. Everyone was upbeat, prompt and courteous.

So custard has egg yolk in it, which gives it a slightly richer texture than ice cream. I tried the snappy turtle, which was their "most popular" item, according to the cashier. It was super sweet, and I was dying for a glass of water a quarter through. Not recommended for those with diabetes. Seriously. And if it's almost bedtime, i'd reconsider taking your kids here. 4 stars from me for good flavor and killing my sweet tooth. Lots of items to choose from as well.

Today must be an off day for them. The custard was overly sweet and grainy. I kept getting little chunks of ice and chunks of cream pieces. The spoon even had residue after eating. Texture was not at all smooth. Color looked more yellow than the last time we got this. Disappointed cause this was our favorite place to stop! ------------- Love their custard here! We always stop for custard on our way back from Dallas, TX to Mobile, AL. We always get the vanilla custard! Just plain jane for us! Have never tried the concretes or mixes. But I'm not much for mixing it up lol. The facility is clean and located on a busy street. It would be hard to turn into of you are on the opposite side. Parking lot and use a little bit of TLC.

Great selection. We had a group of about 10 and we all found something we liked. All of our cups were empty in no time. We walked in a few minutes before closing and the worker didnt seem to mind. Great customer service. He answered all of our questions since there were a few first timers in the group. I thought it was funny that they offer turkey sandwiches.

If you're looking for ice cream, stay far away from this place! As advertised, Bop's serve frozen custard, which, although there are similarities, is NOT ice cream. A number of locals settle for this frozen custard, but I will not. If you want REAL ice cream, I suggest you take your business elsewhere in order to avoid disappointment.

Decent food...however, the kid's menu is a bit limited. Furthermore, who has ever heard of a burger place that doesn't have fries? Bop's offers chips or potato salad as sides...but no fries. Also, the owners should place the fountain drinks where customers can serve themselves from the dining area. It gets annoying having to go back to the cash register every time you need a refill. It would be great if Bop's left you with a feeling of "great to see you, Sir!" instead of "...you again?" Customer service should be front and center.

Bops is a Frozen Custard chain popping up around MS. Per the companies website, "custard is served at approximately 26 degrees compared to regular ice cream at approximately 10 degrees. This allows your taste buds to get a "true taste", unlike ice cream served at a lower temperature which tends to numb or freeze your taste buds while eating. Custard has very little air whipped in making it denser and smoother than ice cream. Custard, by definition, must have 10% butterfat and 1.4% egg." Katie's Crunch (pecans, butterscotch syrup, heath bar) is my favorite "Concrete". To me, Bops is much better than any of the other Ice Cream chains in the area.

So Good! Reminds me of the original frozen custard place in St Louis - Ted Drewes - worth a trip out of the way - who needs ice cream when there is Bop's?

Bop's ia a great place to go with family, friends or just on your own. The custard is great, they also have snoballs, and regular lunch items too. The do have a drive through which makes it uber easy to get a sweet treat.

You do get your mony's worth. We got our Son the dirt and worms and he could only eat about half of it. The girl at the counter was great. She was joking with us and made a show of the "worms" will definetly go back
