It is no Bankhouse Coffee, but since the best coffee shop in town (Bankhouse Coffee) is closed on Sunday's and as I learned today, holidays, this place seems to never be closed which is a huge plus as far as coffee shops go. However, it is very "chainesque" meaning that the food is below average, tastes cheap, and I am sure is not good for you. I ordered the Mufaletta and the frozen blended chai tea. The chai tea tasted fine, no complaints there but the sandwich was made with processed, more than likely frozen ingredients, and it went down heavy. PJ's falls extremely short of the classy, hipster feel and quality that I have become accustomed to from Bankhouse. PJ's is the kind of place that you go to when Bankhouse is closed and all you need is a coffee, or for those who love to just hang out in coffee shops and use wifi. It is not the kind of place that you would take your friends or a date to impress them. PROS: Always open Nice customer service Beverages not too bad CONS: Food is not fresh Looks and feels like a chain Not an impressive place

Great sandwiches and salads! The girls always give me what I want on my stuff. And they're good at making coffee! (And they have tinted windows on the side that matters.)

Mediocre, coffee bar chain (not Starbucks)... it was post-breakfast, after lunch Sunday, so pretty slow. Faux News (crap!) on the big TV... major dealbreaker. Did have free wifi, bought specialty Black & Gold (Go Saints) coffee... but it was pre-ground, no option for beans or specialty grind. Sofa & soft chairs are filthy, floors need sweeping!! Crumbs from previous guests all about. Only 1 employee. Step it up.... this could be a liberal haven if you just keep it clean... and turn off Fox News forever!!!

The food was delicious and the service was great! I also liked the atmosphere, and especially the music. I didn't give it 5 stars because I was eating there but they gave me my lunch in a to-go container instead of on a plate. I also think it would be nice if the lunch salad bar could be substituted as a side with the sandwiches. Overall, it is a cute coffee shop and I was happy to support local business!

I've given this specific PJ's location MANY chances. It's unfortunate because eg he location is stellar and the building is nice. Te coffee just isn't good. Ever. The service is usually pretty sad, too. I've been given cold coffee on multiple occasions (after asking for the freshest brew), a latte with curdled milk, and this last time I ordered a sandwich that I had to remind the employee to make twenty minutes after ordering it.

Went there for the first time yesterday just before closing. Had no issues and loved my iced caramel latte! Love PJs, wish they were all over the U.S.!

Disappointing presentation and relatively high prices. Napkins were out, half and half was out and a few of the tables seemed as though they had been left dirty for some time. The barista was nice enough and the location is excellent. Don't see a need to go back unless I met someone there during downtown business hours.

I like PJ's coffee but this location is just not good. Over the years I keep going back hoping for different results. Unfortunately nothing changes. The coffee just isn't up to par. I can't speak on the food as I've never had any.

Sunday morning and the coffee shop was dirty from the day before. Sour trash cans and dirty salad bar with ice, olives, and cheese from the day before - gross. Even if the coffee had been the greatest, there are other options close by.

Great place, food, coffee, and service. No nearby plugins for charger but server was nice and very friendly .

At this coffee shop- the expression "when the boss is away the mice will play" comes to life. This ship has no captain- - it's largely staffed by young women who are devoid of any sense of decorum or propriety. They have been left on their own - like the marooned youngsters in the novel Lord of the Flies. And, like the adolescents in the book - they've taken the authority and thwarted it. Last week I was given the circular ghetto gesture by one of these gals after I pointed out a mistake in a drink order which I had repeated 3 times-- and didn't sink in - as she was yaking away with one of her co-workers. When I tried to get the name of the owner from one of the other members of this clique - I was asked to leave.

Not as good as starbucks, but not the worst I have had. Men's bathroom was a DISGUSTING. Wouldn't go back.

It's the first coffee shop I've been to that did not have half & half. Others in line thought it was strange also. Good coffee but I had to stop at a gas station for real creamer.

It's open on Sunday. ..however, the place is a little stale. They hadn't cleaned out the Salad Bar from the day before which left bits of cheese and old olives in the left over ice. The trashcans were smelly, possibly filled with remnants of yesterday's leftovers. My cappachino was average.Overall, unimpressed with attention to detail.

By far the worse cup of coffee I have had anyplace in the country! I went here with five other people who thought the same thing. The coffee was bitter and tasted like bark. We all ordered different things but we all thought they were horrible. My assumption is that they scooped up all the floating tar balls off the beach after the gulf oil spill and distilled it into the crap we drank today. Do yourself a favor and avoid PJs at all cost.

Nice location and atmosphere, but the barista was kind of rude. She was talking with her friends when I got in line to order, and kept me waiting a pretty good long time before she deigned to take my order. I'm not saying you have to quit your conversation entirely, but she could have taken thirty seconds to get my order before returning to chatting with her friends.

Five star location right in the middle of downtown Gulfport across from the Hancock Bank. It also faces hwy 49, the main artery through Gulfport. Great place to hang out and read a newspaper or do work on the laptop. I dropped it from a three star to a two star because of their watered down iced chai teas. I am a whole milk man. I like my dairy fresh out of the cow. They must be trying to cut costs because I'm pretty sure they used an eye dropper to pour in the milk. I got more ice than tea, and it had a sickly yellowish white color reminiscent of lemon water. I've gotten a hot chai tea when it's been colder outside, and that has been more presentable. I think I will stick to the Italian sodas from now on. On a side note: I don't drink coffee so I don't know how good it is here. Their breakfast sandwiches saved PJ's from a one star. I highly recommend the Cajun breakfast sandwich. It has just enough kick to keep it interesting. Their lunch sandwiches are a bit of a disappointment..all meat and no greens. They need a little lettuce and tomato in there! If they still do it, the lunch salad bar on the weekdays is a great deal.

understaffed. the poor girl was working alone and looked like she was still recovering from mardi gras last week.

We were downtown for the Krewe of Gemini parade and we needed some lunch. While me and my dad held our places on the route, the other people went to PJs and got some sandwiches that were all really good. I have no idea about service, price or anything else, but that sandwich (a bourbon street) was delicious!

Downtown Gulfport has been slow to recover since the storm but yestarday my buddy Matt B. and I were in the area and decided to get him his coffee fix at PJ's Coffee. PJ's is a Mississippi and Louisiana, alternative to Starbucks. As we entered the newly renovated coffee shop we were hit with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Not being a real coffee drinker, I ordered my skim milk vanilla latte w/whipped cream. Matt B. had a caramel latte w/whipped cream and we decided to take a few moment and enjoy this over priced cup of joe. As we sat there we learned that they have lunch special sandwiches and offer a variety of fresh bagels and pastries. The service was friendly and efficient and unlike their Pass Road location there is no drive thru window. I don't know if it was because I hadn't had a latte in a while or because I had ordered skim milk, but the milk tasted a bit scorched. While Starbucks seems much more pricey, PJ's isn't cheap either. I have a hard time paying $3.25 for anything that comes in a cup the size of a small drink at McDonalds. I also don't think I should have to pay an additional .75 cents for a dollop of whipped cream. Matt B. was paying so I guess all in all I really didn't have much to complain about.

This place is a home run on all fronts: great corner location on Highway 49 at 14th Street, an expansive view of downtown, superb coffee served up by friendly and attentive staff, and hassle-free fast internet. Coffee shops, in my view, should be stately and serene settings with an intimate anonymity - no garish lighting or excess Formica, just plenty of comfort seating and a low-key din to drown out the troubles of the world. PJ's Coffee gets it just right.
