Good food at reasonable prices. Server was attentive. Pretty busy the night I was in there. Bottom line: I'd go back.

Crystal Grill is definitely one of the finer dining options in Greenwood. I'm a sucker for restaurants that have been in business for several decades. This is definitely down-to-earth cuisine. It's hard to get something here when you're on a diet: almost everything is fried or is dripping with butter, and they serve ranch dressing by the bowl full. The highlights on the menu are the onion rings, fried green beans (which was a huge surprise--didn't think I'd like it that much), tamales, side veggies, steak, and most importantly the coconut pie--it's light and airy with a touch of coconut taste. The service is top-notch--friendly and courteous staff.

Was visiting family and we decided on the Crystal Grill. The broiled red snapper was fantastic! Succulent. Don't think it's healthy though, because it had to be broiled with tons of butter. But that made it all the more delicious. Steer clear of the house dressing on the salads. Apparently oil with raw garlic and no seasonings is a dressing.. Otherwise, a pleasant experience..

The Crystal has been one of my favorite places to eat for as long as I can remember. And I remember membership cards and the foyer and the door slot. I've never had bad food here, and they have a lot of food. Their coconut pie is the best I've ever tasted...it is amazing! This is probably one of the best places to eat in Mississippi.

Since there's no Denny's in town...I guess the Crystal Grill is the place to go. Other than that, its nothing special. But what do you expect in a town that's all but gone away? My buddy and I, working in town from California, thought we'd try this breakfast place that others we met were raving about. So, on Sunday we drove down to the edge of the shadiest part of town (next to Amtrak and a bare, boarded-up downtown) only to find ourselves in the midst of the after-church crowd. I felt like I was dining with the biggest display of "check out my best Sunday clothes" competition. With the hairspray and polyester suits, it was more of a culture shock than a good breakfast! In fact, the breakfast was nothing to write about, but the people were most interesting! Across from our table were a party of six blaring out their Sunday chit-chat as loudly as a wedding reception (after the champagne fountain ran dry). Once the party of six left, I could then put my headache in control and eat my meal. But I couldn't really enjoy my meal while I was mesmerized by how much everyone knew everyone. The staff (mostly black, mind you) catered to the fanciful patrons sans Christian values (I could hear curse words, etc) of mostly whites from the 'other side of the tracks'. Yes, its quite obvious that things haven't changed here in rural Mississippi since the 1960s. Or even further back. We ate, we paid and we walked. Next time, I'll go to the Waffle House...at least I get my money's worth. And I don't have to worry about taking my ballcap off when I sit down!

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Fried shrimp were amazing. Rolls were the sweet, tartar sauce, red sauce, and honey mustard were homemade and the best I've ever had. Everything was fresh and came fast. Coconut meringue pie was so good. This place is absolutely ridiculous. Loved it.

A landmark of Greenwood. Rare to have an unpleasant experience or untasty food. Wife has been eating here for 40 years and I've been quite a few times myself. I personally prefer the fried catfish. Very generous portion. As far as french fries go, theirs are really good. Crispy. I've also had the veal cutlet with gravy several times. Always a good bet. Their alfredo sauce is a bit thick for me but has a good flavor and the daughter likes it. Their burger is as good as you'll get just about anywhere.

Good food, but a little pricey. In an absolutely horrible part of town - take all your valuables inside, or better yet, leave them at home. They WILL be stolen from your car while you eat. Some of the people that eat there get a bit snooty and look down their noses at you if you are not one of them. Just stick your nose in the air right back at them....

THE place to eat in the Delta! If you are near Greenwood you have to eat at this landmark.

Came in for an early dinner and this place does not disappoint. Had the gumbo, and filet mignon with turnip greens and baked mac & cheese. Steak was grilled to perfection and the sauce it sits in was awesome. Coworker had a New York strip steak. I don't think you can go wrong with a steak in this place. I would definitely come back

My parents and the locals love this place. I am from a city that offers many dining options and this place wouldn't make it a week if there were competition. The turkey and dressing and the cutlet were flavorful and good, we really liked them, but wish the had been hot, not room temperature. The potatoes were cold and although the broccoli was nicely cooked, it was cold and the liquid in the bottom of the bowl tasked like fish stock. I know when the green beans were labeled Blue Lake, I didn't want green beans out of a can. The yeast rolls were okay, but cold. The parfait was frozen, the strawberry shortcake a cake with strawberry sauce and cream poured on top of cake. The dessert was way too sweet, they just tasted like straight sugar. I am thinking most of the food comes prepared and they either put it in the oven, microwave, or frier. Most of the numerous employees are friendly and the place looks worn, but clean. They have huge portions, you will not leave hungry. The toilet freshner was way too potent for after meal exposure.

For dinner this restaurant caters to a local crowd that eat there regularly. The waiter & waitresses know these individuals and behave accordingly. I think some patrons even have some type of meal card. This unique servers/patron relationship gives this restaurant an uncomfortable "old south" feel for some. The food tends to be quite over rated and over priced with mixed service, depending on your server. Signature items appear to be the yeast rolls, catfish, and pies. The stakes can be hit or miss, missing more often because of poor meat not very well prepared. There are at least 3 different seating areas in the restaurant, with the first area being uncomfortable, very drafty and smelly, probably due to it's proximity to the kitchen.

This place is a Delta classic. Generous portions of "homestyle" servings. You can't go wrong with anything you order (except the house salad dressing). Save some room for dessert, the Reeses Pie is to die for!

We are on the road driving around lots of Blues Trail sites in the Delta and were looking for a local favorite restaurant in Greenwood. The Crystal Grill was recommended by a guidebook and the hotel staff. It totally lived up to the recommendations! The husband ordered Lemon Pepper Catfish that was superb, and I am not really a fan of catfish, it was THAT good. I had a veggie plate with a dinner salad, boiled spinach, speckled butter beans, and a squash cassarole that dang near stole the show! It had bits of squash, and tons of a cheese sauce that was rich and indulgent (Can I use the term indulgent for a vegetable?) The mother in law ordered a glass of milk and the lemon ice box pie. Very generous slice of pie with a fresh lemon taste, stiff whip cream on top and graham cracker crust. She enjoyed it very much. Since the husband and I ordered off the dinner menu, it included coffee or tea and a slice of pie- either coconut or chocolate- well of course we ordered one of each since they are both favorite flavors. Homemade crust and meringue that was not too tall and did not have one speck of "ooze". The coconut was dense, creamy and delicious without being too sickly sweet. The chocolate was medium dark, dense, and rich- again without being too sickly sweet. If there was one very small area for improvement, it would be that the waitress did not come around enough. Having said that, she was stellar in everything else and had a great manner. I try not to get "oversold" when others carry on about how divine some place is- I often get let down because my expectation is too great. However, the Crystal Grill was just as advertised- a historic, family run operation that serves up excellent food. Heaven forbid should you leave here without a bite of pie.

Was traveling through Greenwood and on a suggestion from a friend ate at the Crystal Grill. We could tell by rhe cars it was a local favorite. It was amazing. Food was great and so was the service. You will not be disappointed.

Everything we had was great but do not leave this place without getting the lemon icebox pie!

I came here to visit my uncle and some family members and this is a good place to taste the south. From Okra to Collard Greens to sweet tea, stuff a Californian doesn't get on an every day basis!
