I love trying local steak houses. People recommend a place to me, I try it, and, to be honest, I usually end up thinking, "I can do as good or better than this on the Weber." I was fortunate to have a dad who is quite the grill-master, and he taught me well. Sear the thing, then let it sit over low heat. Turn it once. Dale's steak sauce. Finished. (I also like a steak w/ plain ole' salt and pepper, but now I'm bleeding over into what should be an Allrecipes.com post...) I had Russell's Ribeye last night, and well, he gave any steak I (or any steak house) could ever cook a run for its money. Definitely on the marinade side of steak styles. I ordered mine rare, and it was perfectly rare. Red in the middle, but still hot, just like it described on the menu. I got the 8-ounce, so it was a thinner slice of meat (I respectfully disagree with the notion that a thick steak somehow equates to high quality in America's steakhouses. I digress.) The flavor was smokey with a subtle undercurrent of a we-better-not-share-this-recipe marinade. For this style of steak, absolutely fantastic. The baked potato was great. If you ask for butter and sour cream, remember you're in the South. (Does this really need explanation?) Sweet tea= as good as it gets. The salad bar is typical of any family owned restaurant in the area. Solid selection of toppings. Fries? Didn't try them, but my folks both agree Russell's has the best fresh hand-cut fries in town. To top it off, Russell, the owner of Russell's, is a really nice guy who obviously pours everything he's got into his establishment. Yep, he's the tall dark guy with a goatee who throws the meat on the grill, yells out orders, rings out customers, and does all of the above with his big toothy grin. There's a reason you'll have a hard time finding a parking space and have to wait to be seated at Russell's, and it's not just the good food; it's the people running the place.

The BEST steak I have eaten was at Russell's in 1994. I ate at Russell's again the following year but have never had the opportunity to return. I hope to eat a steak there again real soon.

It was a good nice stop as we drove through Corinth. The price was a little high for the quaility. I expected better steaks than chains like Longhorns, Outback, or Logan's. I was not impressed.

Best steaks in Corinth - they have a sirloin for two dinner that comes with the salad bar and your choice of a baked potato or fries - excellent choice for under $30.00. The dress is very casual (jeans, t-shirt, no need to get dressy). However, the building is small and packs up early (they open at 4:30). I think they may adding more space in the back though. Definitely worth stopping at if in Corinth.

Have passed by Russell's for over 25 years. First time stopping in......Very friendly service. Jennifer gave great service...... Steak was great and very well seasoned. Cooked as ordered, medium rare. Would give 5 stars but salad bar was average......

Corinth still needs a good steak house. I have eaten here several times over the years and have never left truly happy. I only dine here because my husband wants to. Well, his desire to eat here died the last night we ate, couple weeks ago. Over time, he has grown less enthused over his experiences. The baked potatoes have shrank to embarrassingly small sizes. Served frustratingly cold. Brown interior from old and overcooked. Presented with a nauseating amount of sour cream and butter. How can a salad bar with such few offerings win an award? I don't know, that's why I am asking. It is not unusual to find cheese shreds in the pickle spears or pink Bacos floating in, well, everywhere. Our last visit we ordered the Sirloin for two. We were seated directly in the path of the air conditioner vent. The wind blew napkins off the table. We should have moved instead of weighting down all the paper items with our silverware. The piece of meat we were served was an abomination. I know that is a strong word, but in this case pretty accurate. Non-marinated, non-tenderized and flavorless, which is weird because it was cooked over coals. Chewy? Yes, definitely. I have never chewed on the thick blue rubber bands that hold two stalks of broccoli together in the grocery store, but I would venture to say those rubber bands would be easier to eat. Probably tastier. The food was already room temperature when it was served. That frigid gusting air blowing across it really didn't help the situation. We packed it in a to go box so I could try to "doctor" it up at home and finish eating. I was unsuccessful. The cats hesitated when I put it down for them, but eventually they did away with it. I can't compare this steak house to Smith or The Chop House as I have not had a steak from either place. According to the menu, Smith only offers a Filet and a Flat Iron. When I want a steak neither of those cuts are in my top 3 choices. The Chop House menu offers Rib Eye, New York Strip and Filet and even dry aged versions. The average Joe can't eat here before taking out a second mortgage. That is a high price to take a gamble on an item like Bone-in Ribeye with bleu cheese mashed potatoes, yuk. I do hope a true steak house opens in this town before I am too old to savor a truly great steak. To Each Their Own.

Listen, in Corinth, MS, you are NOT going to get better than this!!!!! This place has some history with my family, and I remember coming here as a little girl! It was my grandfather's favorite restaurant and he LOVED steak! My mother and I were in town a couple of weeks ago, and wanted to go back, for old times sake! We were NOT disappointed. Obviously, this is no Capital Grille, but I would put money on it that their steaks could battle it out anonymously, and I would chose Russell's!! Mom and I both ordered filets. Their menu is very limited, but you should know that before coming here that you are either getting steak, chicken breast, or pork! All entrees come with a trip to the salad bar. This is basic, but always fresh, clean, and stocked!! The entrees also come with a choice of a baked potato or sweet potato. Service is quick, to the point, and SOUTHERN. There is nothing like southern hospitality in the heart of Mississippi! My steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare. It was incredibly tender, with NO fat, and not charbroiled! IT WAS AWESOME! My potato was also delicious with butter and cheese!!! Restaurant is always clean--so are the bathrooms--YASSS. They bus tables quickly and refill drinks immediately. Prices are what you would expect for good cuts of steak, but definitely high for the area! This is a family tradition and I can't wait to go back next time I am in town.

A great restaurant if you're looking for a steak - any of the steaks are recommended. Steaks are the specialty of the house, although they also serve a good grilled chicken and pork loin (for those who don't want red meat). They have a very nice but "different" salad bar with hominy, pickled tomatoes, and kidney beans among other standard fixings. French fries here vary from great to really world class depending on how busy the cooks get and how much attention they are devoting to the fries. Extremely popular on the weekend, lines at the entrance are common but usually move pretty quickly. Decor is pretty much country clutter - quality of the food is the draw for locals and many out-of-towners as well.

Great steak dinner at a reasonable price. Really enjoy the taste from being cooked over an open flame pit. Local spot with good hospitality. Always a guaranteed dinner stop when in town!

I like this place. Good steaks. Good service. Not a huge menu but that is just fine because what they do, they do really well. I recommend it if you are in the area. Good salad bar too. Shrimp kabobs were also good. They have baked sweet potatoes and a cinnamon and sugar mix on the table to go with it. I would eat here again.

Oh, hello Corinth, Mississippi--2 hours from any major city. Thank goodness Yelp community for writing about this little gem. Like the other reviews have said: -EVERYTHING is grilled on this charcoal grill they have right behind the counter -prices are a little high for the small establishment, but quality of the meat was pretty good -if you are trying to go healthy and not order steak (beef house obvi!), you shouldn't go there--they have a chicken and pork option and some shrimp skewers. i got one of the skewers and i say skip it -they have a salad bar -they have some steak sauce made in house--try it! So if you're ever in Corinth, i say give this place a try! ps. NO ADULT BEVS

For years my father would love to come here and have a great family dinner. This town does not offer many places to dine other than fast food. This restaurant is small, very comfortable and casual. They have the best steaks in town. All meals come with a salad bar where you go and make your own. The steak's are fantastic and well worth the price. They have a huge porterhouse that two people can share. I had the Fillet, and it was excellent. The prices are typical of a steakhouse minus all the fancy decor and ala cart. The baked potatoes are big and very good. They have bread pudding that is amazing, must try! If you are looking for a great family dinner with great service, come here, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for many years of excellent food with a fun friendly atmosphere. Jeans, t-shirts, they do not care, very casual......

Considering the location is kind of sort off the beaten path, it's not bad. Salad bar needs some work, but the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. We ate here because we were in town for the evening and it wasn't a chain. It's not worth going too far out of the way for, but as long as your in town, I can't help but recommend it.

Good stuff. HUGE portions, sweet Mary mother of God. I got a ribeye that basically took up the entire plate, but it was cooked as I ordered it (rare) and was darn good! I also got a sweet potato and love that they have cinnamon sugar on every table for said sweet potato. Nice touch! This place is typical Southern: casual, loud, and bustling, with yummy greasy food and great service. No complaints here!

Went last night with family since I was from out of town. 3 ordered ribeye. Got salad bar and 1 side. We all ordered baked potatoes and was told the 2 ovens broke down. I can understand that but we expected to have a potato with our steak. The fries were cold and the mixed veggies came in aluminum foil and were warm to say the least to the touch. The waitress got her 20% it wasn't her fault. It was a Monday night. For the price you would have expected more. They could have baked potatoes on the grill or used a microwave. It was disappointing. The lavatories need a wall to block the view of people going in there. Our table was across from them. Highly used during our visit. When checking out I was asked if everything was okay. I stated that, "It would have been nice to have had a baked potato with dinner." The lady said,"We have them now." I said,"I was told the ovens were broken." She replied, "They are." So how did they have potatoes after we finished our meal? It would have been nice if we were told that they had them while we were eating since we asked for them at the time of ordering. We would have taken them later in the meal. Someone dropped the ball and should have been prepared for something like this to happen. Endless drink refills and waitress was checking on us often. Ate there years ago as I am from that area originally. Wasn't impressed then or now. The wait staff did their best with the situation but if there were potatoes ready we should have been offered them since we all wanted them to start. It would have been a redeeming surprise to the service and turned the situation around. Good try. But you failed.

Every time we travel from Huntsville, AL to Tunica, MS we time the trip back to stop at Russell's. The steaks are cooked on a charcoal fired pit and taste like the best you have cooked at home. Get the french fries instead of the baked potato. They are fresh cut from real potatoes and very good. Just a really good steak and potato. Also, the salad bar has some interesting items on it (hominy, pickled green tomatoes). I highly recommend Russell's.

Incredible food and service! At 5 pm on a Tues night, there was a line out the door. The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious! My hubbie and I shared a filet and a potato. The kids each had a hot dog and potato for $3.50 each.
