This is two businesses in one. There is an area with a couple antique furniture pieces and pieces that have been painted to look old or antiqued for your home interior decorating needs. The other part of the business is a small restaurant. I've been meaning to stop in everytime I have had to go to the hospital or have a test performed, as it is just a couple miles from the hospital and is on my way. My husband and I stopped in a few days ago, in peak lunch hours, and were thrown off when we entered. There were no customers, the lady behind the counter was seated at a table and on a computer and didn't acknowledge us. The gentleman walked by us and I stated it was our first time in there, he handed me a couple menus and said his name and pointed to the lady and said her name and let us know she could help us if we needed it. There were no smells of food and the menu was basically light foods, such as, tamales, hot dogs, nachos and such. We were both unusually and inexplicably uncomfortable. We didn't want to be rude and just walk out, yet we didn't want to sit and eat. I decided to get a half dozen Delta style tamales to go. The price of the tamales were much more than that of Dilworth's. As we waited, I began looking at some photographs on display, that seemed to snap the lady to. She told me what town they were taken in and I asked if that is where they are from. They are from a town just before where the Mississipi Delta begins and they came to Corinth in 2001. They make and serve tamales the way they are made in the delta, wrapped in corn husks and contain ground meat. The taste and texture aren't dramatically different than those made in Northeast Mississippi. These were dry, like Dilworth's, but the 'hot' was more of an afterburn. It didn't set your tongue a tingle or anything spectacular, but after you swallowed, it took on a bit of heat and character. Based on the quality, size and taste of these tamales I would consider them 3rd, just behind Dilworth's and D-Shay's here in Corinth. They were OK, but I wouldn't get dressed and make a special trip for them. yelp.com/biz/d-shys-tama… yelp.com/biz/dilworths-t… To Each Their Own.
