Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
I visited this Applebee's on a Sunday mid-day and even though the parking lot was full and the inside was packed we still was seated within just a few minutes and it was seven of us! The service was great and the food was cook perfectly! Our waitress was friendly and on point! I will gladly return here in the future!

To sum it up in one word - YUCK!!!! I ordered the fried fish expecting it to be cod or something similar, which is ok. Whatever it was, it was about like eating a wad of cotton dripping with grease. I see no need to go back to this or any Applebees since all of them I have been to in the past few years can be summed up as - YUCK!!!

I used to work for the company that owns this location, QRC. They were good to me, so I like to see them do well. However, I cant tell you how the food is because NO ONE and I mean NO ONE ever came by to greet us with even a drink order. Being in the industry myself, I could understand getting swamped even though it wasnt that busy. But after 15 minutes, we said screw it and went to Wing Stop who was more than happy to take our money. Pretty poor showing of complete apathy including the manager Joe who was sitting at the bar watching TV. The same thing he did when I worked with him 4 years earlier.

Was on a road trip and stopped for a quick dinner. Our classic burgers we're delivered to the table within minutes and seemed to have been pre-cooked and quickly reheated. Our server did not bring the mayo we asked for and was no where to be found when we needed drink refills. She was also nowhere to be found when we wanted our check.

My favorite thing about Applebee's is the food when/if it's done correctly. Sometimes I order things and it tastes amazing but other times it's gross. The service is ok. I've had really friendly waiters who were attentive but a lot of the time I don't get that. I rarely go here and get completely satisfied. The best waiter I've ever had was a guy named Andrew. He was extremely nice and attentive.

This so far has been the worst dining experience. We waited about 15 minutes for our waitress to come to the table. When she finally did arrive, she didn't even introduce herself. Her exact words were "what do you want". So we place our order then wait. It took 20 minutes to get drinks. We ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks. When that finally arrived, it was brought out by another employee. Our waitress shows up minutes later with a second order of mozzarella sticks and tells us the first order brought to us was for a different table and tells us she's just going to leave both with us. So my boyfriend starts eating off the second order and the waitress comes back and picks it up without a word and brings it to another table. After that it just got worse. Our food had no seasoning. It took forever to come out. Our waitress didn't come back to give use refills the entire time. We finally got our check after we asked another waiter for it. My boyfriend saw another employee use the bathroom and walk out without washing his hands. I wouldn't even give this any stars if that were possible.

We had been on the road since 6am and were starving! We usually skip the appetizer but ordered onion rings because we were so hungry. My husband ordered club soda the waitress didn't know what that was and had to check if they had it. I ordered the chicken chopped salad with no chicken or cheese and vinagrette dressing. My husband ordered portabello mushrooms and chicken with no chicken no cheese and broccoli instead of potatoes. The server asked him to confirm no chicken twice. We have dietary restrictions. 3 times she told us she would have his club soda out in just a minute. 15 minutes later he got his drink and said it tasted really bad. Our server was in the middle of resolving issues at 3 other tables and was no where in sight so I requested a glass of water from the bar tender. Who proceeded to yell across the place that the customer with the club soda now wanted water. When our food finally arrived without our appetizer onion rings ever arriving, mine was just lettuce and tortilla strips, no salsa. My husbands food came with chicken cheese and potatoes. When he told the server he ordered it without chicken and cheese she said "are you joking?" Then I pointed out that we also never got our onion rings and she huffed and walked off. We debated leaving for a couple minutes because we never do that, but we had only had water. And based on all the unhappy faces in her section it was going to take a long time if ever to get our order correct. So we looked for a manager to tell them we were leaving because our server was gone again. Finally we were going to walk to the kitchen to find anyone who worked there when our server popped out from the back still holding my husbands entree a good 5 minutes since she walked away from our table. My husband told her we were leaving and we left. I can't recall leaving a place where we had ordered food EVER in our 27 year marriage. This was the worst Applebees experience we have ever had. We may never go to any applebees again. Very disapointing!!! Our server was Liz she said to call her Lizzy. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what but a manager needs to work on customer service training at this location.

They have provided me bad service for the last time. Slow bad service from my waiter he was trying to tend to too many tables making his own drinks and trying to do to much it was 20 minutes before I got a drink order in 15 min to get it. Appetizer were cold and buffalo wings barely had any sauce not to mention I wanted traditional and I got boneless with barely any sauce told the waiter and he brings me some cold thick hotwing sauce in a cup. Took him 20 minutes to ask for my main order and then my. Steak was undercooked and cold chicken had barely any sauce no veggies I sent it back and 30 min later got it back I spoke to the manager and he copped an attitude and tried to make it my fault because they had to refire the orders he was very rude and non concerned that I had been there for that long to get a jacked up meal. I dismissed him and asked for the check. When I got it it was not discounted for all of the inconviences I paid cash just to get out of the place quickly still took 15 min I had to get the bartender to get the server and asking the manager again where is my change he started in on me again and I told him to go back in the back and have another drink. Finally got my change and to go boxes no silverware to transfer my food to the boxes. Don't come to this place if you want to enjoy a good meal

Stopped in here on my way through town as a last resort, after being unable to find the restaurant my mother and I really wanted to go to. While I have never been a fan of Applebee's, I have to admit I'm shocked by the bad reviews. We were seated immediately and our server was incredibly attentive, even though the restaurant was relatively busy for a Monday night. We decided to go with the 2 for $20 promo, with a spinach dip appetizer. The dip was okay, but came out very quickly which I appreciated. The entrees, however, (steak for me and ribs for my mom) were DELICIOUS. Truly the best meal I've ever had at any Applebee's.

Applebee's has long been one of my favorite places to eat in Clinton and is a local hangout for students of Mississippi College. I've had enjoyable food and service whenever I've gone so I'd normally recommend this place. After my last visit there, however, I simply cannot say that I'd go back again. The reason is as follows: It is simply not safe. When I last went there, I pulled into a very full parking lot and found a space after someone left. Before I could even get out of my car, a large truck began honking repeatedly and blocked me in! They were obviously mad that I had taken one of the few parking spots in the lot but then they proceeded to get out of their truck and came up to my car window. They then very threateningly asked me to move my car because the spot was theirs. I can understand getting mad about the spot. I can even understand honking at me (it's rude but I can understand it). What I can't accept is that they blocked me in and threatened me unless I left! While Applebee's didn't do anything to cause this unfortunate occurrence, if this is the type of person that is frequenting the place, then I will never go there again. Perhaps they should have a security guard in place so no one gets hurt. It is very sad to see this type of behavior in my hometown and I hope I never see it again.

I was so disappointed in Applebee's last time I ate there. First, I ordered a margarita. After I noticed it had a really gross aftertase like the glass still had dirty dishwater in it, I inspected it more to only see a bug floating in it....Can you say disgusting? The manager was ineffective and not very accommodating. He asked me repeatedly did I want another drink, but I refused because, lets just face it, the moment had been ruined. He didn't even offer to comp the drink (which I think is poor managerial skills). The food was mediocre at best and the staff...well....they kind of suck. Save yourself a headache and take that trek over to Cheddar's in Flowood. The wait sucks but the drinks are great (and reasonably priced) and the food is awesome and actually cheaper than Applebee's.

I will never go here and don't recommend it. yuck

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
