Waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the food selection. The catfish bread was delicious

They do have the best catfish in town. My family like to come here. We get served quickly every time. It has a nice ambience to it and is well decorated. It sort of has a cabin feel to it. For example, as you walk up to the front porch, their is a "cabin" like swing on the right side. Their catfish is southern fried and comes with the normal sides like hush puppies and fries. We were all happy with out meal when we left. Definite recommend

As a catfish lover, for over 25 years, after being introduced to it by Delta residents, and having it at several restaurants in the greater Mississippi area, especially including the Delta, I have to say I know catfish!!! So when selecting a restaurant in the area to dine at, while visiting family, and after seeing the rave reviews for Catfish Baby, I had to select this place. Boy, what a disappointment!!! It turned out we (local family) were actually settling on mediocrity. Obviously, there is a shortage of good restaurants in the Delta. So, the locals either don't go out, or they accept what they are served. Well, the standard of restaurant preparation is so many years behind here, it's no wonder I shudder every time I return and am faced with the dim prospect of finding a decent restaurant. The server upon entry was busy, and distracted by cleaning other tables, plus getting drinks for another table. Though there were three servers standing around doing nothing; you'd think someone would come over to us. Finally when we did order, things moved well enough. I ordered one catfish dinner, wisely deciding not to order a 2nd catfish before I finished the first. Anybody to knows catfish, also knows you have to eat it hot, and a 2nd catfish would only get cold on my plate while I ate the 1st. Well my fish was hot, and properly prepared. Very tasty, especially with squeezed lemon on the cornmeal crusted fish. HOWEVER, the vegetables that accompanied my fish, AND my wife's fish (she did not order catfish), and her vegetables were lukewarm at best. The coloring of the vegetables showed that some were recently cooked, while most were a leftover batch from earlier. (See attached photo). Sure enough, when we complained about her fish and our vegetables, the server and then manager explained that the vegetables had been prepared earlier in the evening, and the fish as well. Well, excuse me, but if I wanted buffet, I didn't know I was getting it here. My wife lost her appetite by this point, and didn't eat anything, which the restaurant credited back to our bill. All in all, a most miserable experience, and a restaurant I will not venture into again.

Good catfish and pleasant service. Was incorrectly located both on yelp map and google map. Attaching a picture of actual location. Definitely worth a stop when coming through town.

I've lived in the South and had many catfish dinners, so I know my stuff. The catfish here was over-seasoned. The turnip greens were inedible and over-seasoned too. The fries were undercooked and droopy. The salad, as with far too many in the South, was brown, wilted and flavorless. If you're in Cleveland, you're better off going to Airport Grocery.

I stopped by Fat Baby's for a quick dinner while on a business trip. An initial drive-by the night before looked promising. I tried the catfish bread (good) and hush puppies (good). A beer later, I ordered the catfish dinner with fried okra and catfish gumbo. I also added in some frog legs. A proper fried-goodness dinner, right? The frog legs were great and probably my favorites. The okra was also really good. The catfish was good and has a great tasting breading. The catfish gumbo was okay too. I even liked the hot sauce they had on the table. Everyone working there was super nice. The price was reasonable for some good eats. I would have no problems going back for a second visit. There was a WIFI channel but it was password protected. I did not ask for a password so I can not comment on if it is free to customers or not.

I'm not a catfish fan, but this was great catfish! The winner of the meal though was the hushpuppies: the best I've ever had. Nice, friendly staff, great atmosphere.

Fat Baby's is now open in its new location in Cleveland (the old one in Shaw burned down). It's great! They have an extensive lunch menu - not a buffet - catfish of course, BBQ, burgers, sandwiches, etc. They are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week! The menu is on their website. Food is great, service is friendly, and there's no smoking.
