This was a very nice and quaint spot. I had the chicken casserole and it was definitely something like you would get in your mom's kitchen. There were A LOT of us there for a work event and they handled it pretty well service wise. Some people did have to wait a while but it really was a lot of us there. The desserts were really good as well.

Tasty southern home cooked food! Great service, good menu options. If you don't try a piece of their pie you have missed out for sure!

There's not many places that I eat exclusively in in any given town but the Dutch oven is one of those places I have to go by every time I'm in clarksdale. I try to plan work in clarksdale on Tuesday and Friday to get the poppy seed chicken but all their plate lunches are great.

The Dutch Oven is flat-out wonderful. Home cooked meals that will knock your socks off. Specials daily that make you clean your plate. Desserts are heavenly.

We picked up a 6 pack of the Italian Cream cupcakes today ($6.50 for 6), and they are absolutely amazing. There was a huge amount of frosting on top of each cupcake but it was not overly sugary, just the perfect consistency and richness. There was a huge selection of pies and cakes in their freezers, it looked like the average price for a large cake was $24- not cheap but a very nice, large cake. A very nice surprise in Clarksdale, and perfect with some coffee from Yazoo Pass just down the street.

So funny, meant to write a review of this place two years ago so i could get the dubious title of first to review. Anyway, The butterhorns are to die for and the place is run by Mennonites. Expect to look at cool pottery and very friendly people. Better than Morgan Freeman's place down the street

The Dutch Oven makes one of the best chicken salads I've ever tried. Their service is quick, making this the perfect lunch spot. Everything is great here. They have a daily lunch special and dessert special. As another reviewer mentioned, don't skip dessert! Some of the best cakes I've ever tried. I would eat here and at Yazoo Pass exclusively! Love this spot.

One of my favorite lunch spots. Just come as you are, but get there early, it's not that big and fills up fast. Service is always good, I've never had a drink hit empty in all my years of lunches with them. My favorite is chicken salad sandwich served on a butterhorn. It's big enough you really won't need a side order. And please please don't skip desert... I recommend the chocolate silk pie or Italian Cream Cake. OMG... you won't find any dishes this good anywhere else. Promise.

We had 3 superb meals catered for our group of almost 100 people. The lasagna was excellent, if just a touch spicy for my boring taste. Others in our group thought that it was excellent so I am willing to bend to their opinion. The chicken casserole was absolutely superb and the green beans and corn were also fantastic. Don't miss the homemade brownies or cookies - They too were excellent!!

I usually stop and eat here when I'm in town working. It's a good "lunch place". They have plate lunches or you can get a sandwich. And of course, they have lots of different types of breads and sandwiches. Oh and tons of cakes, pies, and casseroles in the freezer. If it's good weather outside, go sit on the porch out back and eat. You can smoke and not be bothered. It's a really tiny building which is always packed.

The Dutch Oven is the number one place the locals recommended to me. I was in Clarksdale for a week, and when I was asked where I had already been, I was consistently referred to the Dutch Oven. And, I am so sorry I didn't listen to them sooner. The poppyseed chicken sandwich on Tuesdays and Fridays, and the French silk pie everyday. I missed the poppyseed chicken, but the French silk pie more than made up for the lack of desserts in this town. The pie: My slice of French silk pie was not only generous and very filling, but it was the best slice of chocolate pie I have ever had. Each forkful of this pie was a bite of pure chocolate bliss. I also bought a two-pack of cinnamon rolls to have for breakfast the next morning, and they kept well and were slathered in a rich and creamy cream cheese icing that was not overly sweet or sticky. The service: This bakery is run by Mennonite women who offer the kindest word and service. They knew I was an outsider, and the hospitality shown was Southern hospitality at its best. The location: There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and on a sunny day like this, I recommend outdoor seating. My friends and I got there right before closing, so we opted for outdoor seating because the staff were already preparing to close. You can walk over to the Delta Blues Museum nearby and finish the afternoon with some Delta blues history.

This place was amazing! Some friends took us there for lunch and I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was great and the portion sizes were very generous. My husband had the Ruben and said it was the best he'd ever had. Whatever you do, order dessert! Another piece of advice: get there early, this place is VERY busy. Great place to eat- would love to go again!

Stopped in for lunch a few weeks ago and was impressed by the fresh ingredients, delicious pies and immaculate surroundings. I had a vegetarian sandwich (a rarity in the Delta) and coconut cream pie for dessert. Sandwich was well-made with fresh bread and ingredients. Coconut cream pie was delicious, with little bits of coconut and lots of cream. All in all a good stop for lunch

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
