Delicious neighborhood spot serving Italian and seafood. We came here on a recommendation from the Cat Head, and it did not disappoint. The onion rings were incredible and as other reviewers noted, crispy and perfectly fried but somehow not greasy. Unfortunately, they were out of chicken livers, but the veal spaghetti was a yummy alternative. Fantastic red sauce on the spaghetti -- meaty but not too chunky. The spaghetti itself was fine but I prefer my noodles al dente so it wasn't my favorite. The service was fantastic and friendly. Wonderful spot to kick off an evening of blues! Beware: CASH ONLY.

The gold standard in non- greasy fried food this side of the Mississippi. We were so impressed with the quality of the fried food at Ramon's. The onion rings are to die for, as well as many other choices. We had an awesome experience from the excellent food to the excellent service, and great price for the value. As visitors, this will be our most memorable meal over several days in Clarksdale.

Great food especially the grilled catfish.

Don't let the aged building fool you. When you walk in, though, be prepared to be transported back in time. Green tile floors and blues walls and the phone constantly ringing with orders. But it's the food that really took us back to the good ole pre-diet days. I ordered the fried shrimp with red pasta and a salad. I recommend the house dressing. My dinner partner ordered the chicken livers, which was, I must admit, our reason for visiting Ramon's. We heard they were the best, and good liver can be hard to come by. He says, "They were cooked just right, buttery, crispy, light and the small portion was just enough to fully satisfy." My fried shrimp lived up to Ramon's fried-food hype. I recommend asking for both cocktail sauce AND the house-made tartar. My lovely waitress recommended the combo. It was a hopping place on a Saturday night, so you might have to be patient regarding service. But it comes with the territory of this mom and pop venture. Enjoy.

Holy jumpin' jehosephats! While you drive through a residential neighborhood wondering where in the heck you're going, you find Ramon's. Tucked away, this is truly a hidden gem. Don't go expecting anything fancy. In fact, you shouldn't expect anything fancy out of Clarksdale at all. It's not that kind of town. I see where a lot of folks say this place needs updating, but I say "No way!" If they renovate, I think Ramon's would lose part of it's mystique and allure. I digress. Let me talk to you about the best fried chicken livers I have ever put in my mouth. EVER. I was raised on a typical southern diet, so I'm no stranger to liver. But I can never eat my grandmother's again because it doesn't hold a candle to this place! They were fantastic. I think I may have actually wept at the glorious golden pile that was placed before me. And it was all served up with a smile. They were all very nice and, of course, knew I wasn't a local as soon as I came in the door. But that didn't stop them from treating my like I was a regular. One of these days, when I make another eight hour trek to Clarksdale, Ramon's will be my first stop.

One of the locals' best kept secrets, this nondescript building sits off the beaten path in a residential neighborhood a short drive from the Blues hotspots downtown. You know you're in the right place when the cloud of heavenly grease smell hits you on the way in. Beer? on the menu - light only. If you're a beer snob, they let you bring your own. Also, bring your own wine and liquor - no corkage fees! If you're looking for healthy fair, don't bother. This is the real deal, artery clogging food that made the '70s so enjoyable. Fine fried seafood: huge, plump oysters, enormous butterfly shrimp, catfish, and scallops. If you can handle the cholesterol spike, order the fried chicken livers, served with a side of spaghetti. The house salad is a potent mix of iceberg, tomatoes, and one black olive dressed with a garlic vinaigrette, garnished with a whole pepperoncini. The food is consistently HOT when served, fresh, and delicious. Portions are generous; go hungry. Weekend nights can be busy (read: slow service) but well worth the wait. Unlike many establishments in Clarksdale, Ramon's is a now a smoke-free facility, which is a definite plus.

Don't let the picture fool you. The atmosphere is nonexistent, the service is slow to say the least, and the building looks like it ought to be condemned, but the food is some of the best on earth. Basically anything fried is good here, but I especially like the onion rings and fried shrimp. So when all the downtown hotspots are too crowded and you just want a good meal, take a step back in time, throw your cholesterol level to the wind, and spend a great evening at Ramon's.

Very nice service, but food was mediocre. Fried shrimp barely tasted different from onion rings. Not sure what all the hype is about.

The environment could use a little updating, but the food here is incredible. Catfish dinner is outstanding, and the onion rings are the best I've ever had.
