True Blues fans know you have to travel to to "Crossroads" at least once to get the sense of what the blues are all about. When in Clarksdale MS, Ground Zero is a must. As so many "Juke Joints" have fallen to the wayside GS has given new life to what was the Blues experience. Great Blues entertainers, good food ,cold beer. During the festivals " Juke Joint and Sunflower" this is fun spot to see top blues acts and blues legends. Located a stones throw from the Delta Blues Museum stop in for lunch and stay for evening show.

I think we have a new family! It seems that way....the staff at GZBC practically adopted us. It broke my heart to have to leave and get on down the road, however we find solace in the fact that we now know where to go for our next weekend getaway. We had one of the most wonderful experiences there. Pulled pork Sammich, fried green tomatoes and a local IPA that HOPPED MY SOCKS off! I could go into ALL the intricacies of this place and tell you about the writing on the wall, the family atmosphere, the upstairs, and every detail we experienced, but you still wouldn't understand.....if you even remotely like the blues (or history of ANY kind for that matter) you need to do yourself a favor and make the trip. I promise, you will NOT be disappointed!

We went to Ground Zero while visiting some friends who in a nearby (for MS) town. It was a great meal in an authentic-feeling place. I think it's a must to get the whole experience of visiting the Delta. Very cool.
(4)Manu N.
A nice taste of Memphis. The catfish was absolutely delicious- better fried than grilled, and I don't usually like fried foods. We went there while visiting my fiance's family and we were impressed. They give you a pen when you come in so you can write on the walls - or wherever you want frankly. Wasn't crowded at all so it felt nice. They have a stage at the back. Wish we could have stayed for the live band.

This is a rare find and a unique opportunity. You'll come here to discover the home of muddy waters and the origins of the Delta Blues... You'll come here to visit Clapton's "Crossroads"... You'll come here at night for the music... You might even come here for the drinks and the people watching... The food is southern, which is fun, the service is painfully slow... but then one should slow down in Clarksdale and get a taste of slower times...
(5)Gabriel W.
Hot tamales are excellent, fried tomatoes are excellent, burgers are awesome, waitresses are very good. It may be loud, it may be smokey, the service might be slow, but its great food, often with live blues music and its authentic to the region. Highly recommend you pass through Clarksdale and have dinner here.
(4)David M.
Morgan Freeman's blues club is THE place in Clarksdale for live music. Even though its a 'new' place (in the comparative lifetime of southern juke joints) it has that down home, authentic feel. A stocked bar (and wait staff) and great menu add to the appeal. The menu is an easy read of sammiches, chicken, catfish and burgers -all have a dash of somethin' that make the experience a step above 'pub-grub'. Need a place to stay and sleep off the blues? You can rent rooms upstairs for the night or a week. During the week you can get a plate lunch (including drink & desert) for $7, a damn fine deal & worth ordering. What? Does it take a meteor to hit you in the head, or are you just punch drunk? Lord Almighty, its about time you drove down with a friend to redeem yourself and grab some of the glory of the delta blues.
(5)Mark P.
This is the kind of place you'd think only appears in a novel. It is EXACTLY what you think a low class, hi-fi, rockin and rollin blues juke joint ought to look, smell, act and sound like. We saw Stan Street and the Hambone Blues Band. They played a five hour set, by the middle of which locals were joining in to swap out on he drums, keyboards, add in a trombone or another vocal. And goddam if there isn't some deep talent in this place. It was pretty amazing how everyone was switching instruments, but still cranking out some fabulous music. And absolute "must visit" if you are anywhere in northern mississippi.
(5)J. N.
Definitely disappointed. Having to pay a cover charge is ridiculous. They had a house band playing cover tunes! (Really "SoulMan" and some KC and the Sunshine Band song). I came to hear BLUES. Then I guess we chose the one Saturday night when it was the Blue Hair Club's night from the rest home. 65+ out trying to make sure everyone knew they were there (screeching like banchees and dancing in ways that burned a terrifying sight into my eyeballs). Ugh And the food...hubs enjoyed the fried tamales...I think my homemade ones are much better. My pulled pork sandwich came on top of a mediocre hamburger which was over cooked. Way to hard to even eat (piled up so high, soggy bun). Threw it out. Hubs burger was also dry and ho-hum. Thrown out too. Totally bummer...only good thing the old man singing did sound good on some songs and the guitarist could play some licks! Well YOLO so at least I can say I was there. Just wish I could get back my $65.
(2)Oldair D.
From the outside this place looks rundown but it just adds to the overall experience, once we walked in we were very impressed. We visited the club on an afternoon and it was pretty slow but I imagine that at night it really picks up. They are known for their catfish and pulled pork, I tried the pulled pork sandwich and it was DELICIOUS. I would definitely recommend visiting this place especially at night.
(4)Michael P.
What a cool place in the delta ! Music was awesome and the fried tamales, incredible. Had the privilege of hanging out with the owner and mayor of Clarksdale, Bill Luckett and his lovely wife Francine. Great people, great music and a great time!
(5)Tai T.
They changed their house-band which is a bummer. I know the bands can't stay forever, but the house band they have now is awful. The lead singer, is way over-the-top cheesy, the bass player is a real dolt, and the drummer is sub-par. During their Thursday night free jam session, the house band would rush guest musicians off the stage if they were good, cuz it made them look bad. Last time we were there, the owner Bill, had a friend in town with an amazing voice and the band couldn't play a simple bed of music for her to shine. It was embarrassing. That being said, I still stand by my 1st review that Ground Zero is a tremendously amazing experience, especially if you're a blues hound like myself. I'm more traveled than I was when I wrote the first review, so I pull back on my "great southern food" comment. The point is, the atmosphere of Ground Zero, blocks out all negatives....but I hope they're able to score a better house band soon.

Co - owned by Morgan Freeman, This is as close as you'll get to a traditional nightclub in Clarksdale. Part juke joint/ part CBGB's, it's a great place to hang at if you have a large party of people. Not as intimate as places like Red's or Bluesberry, but they make up for it with a killer sound system for live bands & a kick ass bar. Do yourself a favor and also check out Red's juke joint just down the street, if your looking for an authentic juke joint vibe.
(4)Janie L.
Great atmosphere. We just had drinks, but worth the stop!
(4)Natasha N.
If you are on a diet, do NOT go there. Lol. The food is amazing. We had pulled pork, baked beans, and cole slaw. Even the cole slaw was the freshest I have ever had. it was a month ago and I can still taste it! The food and music were great and the drinks were strong. LOVED it.
(5)Elayne D.
Had the best hot tamales we've had in a long time. Ever! Don't miss it!! Stacy and Max were excellent servers! The place is full of character! Clean.
(5)J. M.
A great experience- cool atmosphere, great music, the beer was delicious. Played pool near the end of the night on one of the 2 tables. Located very close to the Delta Blues Museum.
(5)Jeff S.
Not a great meal but we were a huge lunch group which makes for its own challenges. Although we had called a couple of days in advance, there was NOWHERE near enough help to take care of the crowd. In fact, the staff was so shorthanded that they could not sell t-shirts until they were done serving our food and we had to take our empty glasses to the bar to get soft drink refills. Overall, the food itself was pretty good but that was overshadowed by the lack of wait staff. It seemed that the same person who was waiting on us was also trying to be a host and a cashier. For all I know they were also cooking the food. Nor their fault at all, there just wasn't enough help!
(3)Coral E.
Great blues club in Clarksdale, walking distance from great shops. Authentic dive experience with great, greasy food and awesome live music. And you'll never know if you might see Morgan Freeman there - we did!
(4)Jeanne L.
I loved this place! Being at the crossroads and being in this fantastic blues juke joint- ish club was more than a blues lover and blues singer could stand. I need to go back. We had fried green tomatoes which was amazing and we had some barbeque as well which was very good. I am dying to go to the juke joint festive. We were there on the day that the clarksdale blues festival was going on: unfortunately we didnt stay due to my travel partner wanted to go back to beale street..Bummer. ..so much fun there.
(5)Donna C.
We went when it wasn't busy. Kinda early (around 8p on a Friday night) had decent amount of beer on draft, lots of hard alcohol choices. Waitress was helpful, fun to chat with, funny. Food was decent, had just appetizers. Fried green tomatoes (corn meal and thin) and fried tamales (semi unique). Band started before we left, sounded good. I think if we would have stayed later, it would have been a cool party place. We were just hungry and tired. Was hoping for more unique food, not just a neat menu. :-/ Overall, it's worth the stop!
(3)Martin L.
This is a must-do if you're going to be in the Clarksdale area. You could spend an hour walking around and taking in the decor; even more if you want to try to read a fraction of the writing on the walls and furniture. It's a timeless blues venue, and you can catch live music pretty much every night. The food is standard southern fare done right--I had the BBQ pork with baked beans and fried okra, and it was great. The pork was the tenderest and juciest I've had on this trip down south. I would have gone five stars but for two reasons. The food was very good but not exceptional, and the sound person working seemed to have no clue what he was doing. At one point the monitors generate such loud feedback I almost thought the singer was going to walk off the stage before performing, but she gathered her composure and showed a lot of patience in dealing with a sound guy who just didn't get it. Still, don't even think about coming to town without stopping in!
(4)Kay P.
A MUST!! IF you are in Clarksdale, you cannot miss Ground Zero. This place has grit, character and authenticity. Dance on the bar. Jam to great bands and blues! Eat amazing bbq. Have a good time! And if you're lucky, Morgan Freeman might stop by since he part owns the joint ; )
(5)Cindy B.
This place is amazing! It doesn't look like much on approach, but the staff is super friendly, the selection of local beers is good (try the Lazy Magnolia Indian Summer) and the quality of the sound & the acts is top-notch. Definitely a worthwhile stop on your blues pilgrimage.
(5)C D.
It was fun, great music, good food, and plenty of seating. It is a little pricey for what it offers. It is kind of a tourist attraction though. If you want authenticity, head over to Red's lounge around the corner, and if you want a more chill atmosphere walk on over to the New Roxy! Overall, fun place though! Visit Clarksdale
(4)Danny W.
The food is excellent! Unfortunately, i was here on a night that the Blues club was not open. I did stay at the Inn upstairs, which is probably the nicest place to stay in town! Give it a try!
(4)Glenn P.
Cool spot to check out in Clarksdale. Service was slow for a Monday lunch because the combined bartender/waitress looked over worked. Got the Fried Grits and topped with butter and honey. Very good! Sit at the bar and meet some locals.
(4)Ashley H.
This is probably our favorite place to relax and enjoy a cold drink and some live blues. We drive over an hour just to hang out there and it's well worth the drive. It's a super dive, which makes it that much better! From the pool tables, to the writing on the walls, and the ghetto furniture on the front porch, this place screams Mississippi delta juke joint! The service is friendly, and everyone in there is pretty laid back. Morgan Freeman is a co-owner of this place and often shows up to meet and greet. The food is fantastic as well. The burgers are enormous, and the catfish filet sandwich is thick and flaky. The fried green tomatoes or fried dill pickles are perfect starters. Sweet potato fries are my favorite side, but they have several others to choose from. Top it all off with a Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan Ale, or two, or six. If you drink too much, no worries; they actually have 8 cool little suites upstairs they rent out. This is definitely a place you need to check out if you're down in the delta.
(5)Lindsey R.
This place is definitely a must if you're passing through the south! I read about this place, and didn't expect it to be nearly as awesome as it is. Definitely not the least bit glam or fancy, but it has lots of character, great music, and decent food for being "bar food." Check it out if you're in the area.
(5)A A.
Yummy BBQ with green beans. Passable IPA (Lagunitas) from the bar. Very good service. It felt strange that wait staff is all African-American and clientele almost 100% white. White visitors maybe helping keep Clarksdale afloat financially but where can I go for a more diverse crowd?
(4)Diana K.
Cold beer, rocking music, nice staff, cool atmosphere.
(5)Joseph E.
Fried Tamales do I need to say more. Ok I will....Catfish good, Burgers good, Fried Grits good (it sounds odd but it works), service good, decor good and Fried Tamales - Great.
(4)Jason S.
One of the world's great blues clubs, Ground Zero also serves food. For the most part, we're talking regular bar food, but on the appetizer menu you'll find deep fried chunks of tamales. Yes, you might run into co-owner Morgan Freeman, and your friend might get on stage to play along with the house band, and you'll meet travelers from all over the world who made pilgrimages to the birthplace of the blues, BUT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT DEEP FRIED TAMALES HERE PEOPLE.
(5)Roger E.
This place has more culture and history than the white house. Went to the museum first and yelped this place since it was in walking distance. When we got within eye sight we both balked. I mean this place looked like it was going to fall down any second. In fact if it wasn't for some others going in I would have thought we were at Sanford and Sons Place. Went inside and it wasn't a lot better but I think a good word is cultural. If we were back in time and was looking for a place to experience the original culture of the delta region this was it. We were seated and ordered fried catfish, greens, cornbread and fried green tomatoes. We are from the south so we knew what to expect. The food was beyond our expectations. Whoever was in the back cooking this knew what they were doing. Everything was great. Great service also. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because of the restrooms. Too bad we couldn't stay for the music...

The short: Blah for a lunch spot. Probably pretty good at night as a blues club (though locals will tell you to go to Redds instead). The deets: My salad was smallish but came in a big bowl. It was basically a bag of iceberg tossed with tomatoes and 6 grilled shrimp. It was $9. It was *not* a $9 salad. Fortunately, I also ordered turnips--oh wait, what's that in my turnips? HUGE HAM CHUNKS. The server had told me the sides were *not* prepared in meat. It seems to me that ham is a type of meat. My husband got the po-boy, which he reports was just ok. It's smoky in there, which in fairness should be expected from a blues club. But when everyone around us started lighting up their cigarettes, we got antsy for the check. This place received a "B" inspection rating. (I think we can do better than that, Mr. Freeman.) Service was friendly and nice but slow (and wrong about meat-free sides). The John Lee Hooker guitar over the bar's pretty cool, and the atmosphere's casual and comfy. I guess I just think it's trying to do too much and should probably stick to only being a nightclub.
(3)Yonnie B.
I didn't meet Mr Freeman but I did enjoy some pretty high quality blues music. It's working class. Gritty. Mainly white clientele tonight. Not cool in a slick sense, more cool in a unpretentious sense. Drinks reasonably priced. $5 cover.
(4)Phil M.
For the Blues Lover, like me, I must say, Ground Zero is right up there, with Teddy's Juke Joint in Zachary, LA, Club Ebony in Indianola and Po' Monkeys in Merigold, although I've never actually been inside of Po Monkey's! A trip to Clarksdale is a must. Then, whe you are done there, come down the Blues Highway to Baton Rouge on Thursday night at Phil Brady's (by way of Teddy's, of course.) Then you tell me where you can find the real deal.
(4)jessica m.
Chances are, you WILL meet Morgan Freeman- nice to know the man patronizes his own restaurant- that's always a good sign. My group even had the pleasure of sharing the dance floor with him and his wife honky'tonkin around to the live band. You can order something called a BBQ Sundae. I did so without asking too many questions, and it looked like this: ooOOnion Ringgggg oooOOOnnionnRRingggg ccCCColllllleeessLLLaaawww ccCCCCColllllleeessLLLaaawww BBBBBBQQQQQQQQQQBEANS BBBBQQQQQQQQBEANS BBBBBBQQQBeaNS mmEMMME eeAAATT Mmme eatMe at With a long handled spoon sticking out of the top. Dinner in a fountain glass- not for those squeamish about their food touching! Fun fun place. It's also really fun to write on the walls to commemorate your visit.
(5)Lisa C.
Nice place for music...$3 cover on Thursday night. Local band with open jam sign up to play with the band. Bartender very friendly and on the ball. Gotta love 6 bottles of beer and the total bill was $15!! Not PBR either, mix of MGD, BL and a couple of local craft brews. Don't get all dressed up in a dress and 4 inch heels, you will look ridiculous. I don't care whether is is "authentic" or not... it has great beer prices, good music and great bartenders. What more do you want?
(4)Michelle T.
Loved this place! Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the food is only so-so, but the atmosphere in the club and the quality of the music are first-rate. Definitely a keeper. Food was generally greasy and fried, although the grilled catfish was delicious and light (if you avoid the bacon). I also enjoyed the not-so-light fried green tomatoes, which were the first fried green tomatoes I've tried. They were tasty, although I don't have any others to compare them to. Band was great, crowd was fun, decorations were fun. Only major negatives were the smoking where we were sitting near the front, and the group of people that came in late and decided to stand in front of us, blocking our view.
(4)Vajira N.
Went there in 2008 during a road trip. Still remains one of the best memories of the trip, if not the best. Stopped in the town, trying to find a place to eat. Saw the place a couple of times but didn't think it was even open - looked like a run down place with an old worn-off couch outside. Finally, after not finding any other place to eat, ended up going in. Liked the place so much that when we were back home, decided to write a Yelp review. It was a surprise to find that the place belonged to Morgan Freeman. It's not a fancy club type place, more like a dive bar, so it would be great to meet Morgan Freeman there and hang out with him :)
(5)Steve B.
A great blues place in the Delta. The food is ok, nothing really special. Lots of beer choices. This place has writing EVERYTHING so bring a marker and mark your spot. The music is great. I visit here everytime I pass thru.

On our way from Memphis to New Orleans, we decided to take a small detour for lunch in Clarksdale. It was a saturday afternoon and the downtown looked super dead with hardly any people on the street and no restaurants open. Were about to take a U around a big parking lot and go hit a Sonics by the highway when we noticed that this dilapidated warehouse like building had a sign saying - "The Ground Zero Blues Club". Checked it out - and surprisingly they were open as well.. Old couches on the porch, a barbQ grill by the side. You open the door, and this big warehouse kinda space.. white walls paled with age had scribbles in black ink all over them..some guitars and a saxo hanging from the roof, pool tables in front, bar on the right and a stage of sorts in the far left..Perfect setup/vibes for a perfect blues club !!! Anyways ordered a drink..they seem to have a huge collection of cocktails - but Im not a cocktail person, so ordered a beer..I think the beer collection was just average (for me coming from San francisco) ..But that doesnt matter.. Then comes to food - We ordered Fried Okra (my fav. thing on this trip to down south). Fried green tomatoes - Yummmm and a must order for all and one. And a melting-in-the-mouth-BbQ-pulled-Pork sandwich. Super Yummm.. Also ordered a turnip leaf 'healthy' dish which was nice..but doesnt beat the fried stuff :) People were nice as well.. We were so glad that we found this place luckily and hope to go back there sometime - but next time would be at night when the live blues play..and the fried green tomatoes and BbQ are still there and as the girl behind the bar put it - "when the real action is".
(5)John L.
Been three times and that ain't enough. Love the place - the people, the food, the music, the musicians, the drinks. Always have fun there. And have met quite a few very interesting people. The people - fun, friendly, create a great atmosphere. Had some great conversations there. The music & musicians - this is GROUND ZERO so what do you expect?? The drinks - big plastic cups make for some serious sipping. Cold beer is always the right stuff. The food - very good. Catfish is outstanding. Unexpectedly good given how much fun the place is. And it's fried - what ain't good about that? If you have any interest in blues, go. A wonderful experience listening (and watching) locals letting it rip alongside of some big names. If you have no interest in blues, this would be a great place to remind yourself of that. Or to change your mind. Go. Meeting people, eating good, fun food, listening to musicians pour their souls out. Kind of what life is or should be all about. Thanks guys, for putting this place together.
(5)Matt C.
Oh yeah... Big time, big time... Its a right of passage coming here.. This place is AWESOME! Awesome music, authentic... Has a lot of personality... None of the chairs are the same, very make-shift. Down-home, juke joint, all those thangs. They have a bunch of bottled beer selection, and keep a couple draft beers on rotation - good draft beers too, not schwag. Music is amazing. Sound system really good. The food was also very tasty! I had read a couple other reviews about how tasty the burgers were and they really are! Super-friendly service all around. The Mayor of Clarksdale was there and he went around and chatted with everyone. Also come to find out, they have rooms / beds upstairs that you can stay at. The night we went here was very cold, but I can imagine on a Friday or Saturday night in June, I bet this place hops. Would love to go back.
(5)Brendan C.
Walking around Clarksdale, it's small enough that you will eventually run into Ground Zero. This feels like it will be an iconic place if it sticks around for another 40 years. Morgan Freeman co owns the place. It's a good stop if you are visiting the Blues Museum next door. Snack bar Food is very tasty. The Burger with mushrooms and fries is great. Service was good. It has a lot of character inside and out. Live music here nightly. Billiards tables at the front.
(4)Jen B.
I would give Ground Zero 3 stars if it weren't for the fact that I had the best burger of my lifetime here. My friends and I were staying at the Ground Zero upstairs, and alas, the apartments are not soundproof and the floors shake with the impact of the music downstairs. Granted, if you're staying above Ground Zero, why would you not partake in the music downstairs? Maybe because there were other juke joints in town (ahem, Red's and farther out in the Delta, Po Monkey's) that I'd rather spend my time at. However, my friends and I were hungry, so we went downstairs and ordered food. The band was setting up, and we weren't charged a cover until they started playing. I didn't mind paying the cover, but if you're staying upstairs, then I think the cover should be waived. I also didn't mind paying the cover because the burger I got was well-worth the 9 dollar price tag and then some. I ordered the Jukin' Blues Burger, what a fitting name, and it came with hand battered fried onions and jalapenos, melted mozzarella and American cheese, and a tangy "get back" sauce. Because of this burger, I now order onion rings and add them to my burgers. Finding fried jalapenos is more difficult, but I have fond memories of this burger and I wish we had a Ground Zero up North. The club itself has booths, bar seating where you can watch the Memphis Grizzlies play, pool tables, a stage for the performers and enough room near the stage for some serious dancing. My friends and I got up there and danced, then we played some pool with the locals. I think the sheer mix of locals with tourists makes Ground Zero a good time for all. Plus, you can leave your "mark" on this place anywhere you like. My friends and I grabbed a Sharpie and had at the pool tables. Visitors are encouraged to sign and do some Sharpie artwork in the bathrooms and in the club itself.
(4)Alban J.
We had a really good time there. Casual atmosphere, very unique. Food is ... Fried but great and a portions are big, even the regular ones. We had the tamales, nachos and fried green tomatoes. Well, it says it all! And the band was nice!
(4)Josep91447 ..
Had the fried catfish and fried okra. The plate came with a healthy serving of fried okra, but the fried catfish was only served with one filet. The blues music played was great. Good times in clarksdale Mississippi.
(4)G C.
Huge spot for listening to blues. Get a sharpie to sign your name wherever you can find space. I thought the energy here was less electric than at Red's. Vibe was more fratty due to all the bros playing pool and clustered around the bar. Friday night included a $10 cover but they accept cards.
(4)Steven L.
This is a converted old cotton gin into a renovated Delta Blues club for blues bands and Morgan Freeman's southern soul food restaurant. It is really an authentic Mississippi Delta Juke Joint that is open today. The decor has a relaxed atmosphere and begins with old sofas out front on the front porch to a Ground Zero mobile that is outside in the parking lot along the side of the restaurant. It also has 7 apartments up stairs that can be rented out for the true blues fans. Across the street is the Delta Blues museum for people to learn a little more about the history of blues and how it all started. They have pool tables in here too for those who like to play. Ground Zero is co owned by actor Morgan Freeman, Attorney and present Clarksdale Mayor Bill Luckett, and Memphis executive Howard Stovall. Ground Zero has entertainment for its visitors. The Restaurant has a stage for blues bands to play and offer live entertainment to its patrons. Blue bands usually play here Wednesday through Saturday and start at 9pm but call to confirm as schedules for venues are subject to changes and cover charges as we all know. You can autograph the restaurant. However, there is literally not a enough space on the walls to even write your name. As far as the food is concerned- everything is fried. Such as fried green tomatoes, fried okra, fried catfish, fried chicken, French fries, fried pickles, fried grits, fried green beans, fried hot tamales and even off the menu items that are fried like their fried bologna sandwich. They even have fried desserts like fried chocolate delights and fried creme cake. They also have pecan pie and home made peach cobbler.

The place for Delta Blues, Morgan Freeman's place, Clarkdale, MS. Staying in a room upstairs over the club!!
(5)Rob W.
This is a great music club that also serves very good food. They get authentic Delta blues musicians here from the local area, which is very rich in talent. We saw some great performances here by Kingfish and Super Chikan, amongst others. The burgers Barbeque and fires were awesome as well. If you get a chance you should check this place out some evening when the band is playing. Service is great here, with plenty of southern hospitality.
(5)Lawrence M.
Holy freak'n signatures everywhere! Have you ever got so drunk with your friends at a bar to the point where everyone was staring at you all? That pretty much sums up my night. Really divey yet trendy bar/restaurant, but the live music is really impressive. Go ahead and mark your territory.. that is if you can find a spot to Lol. Was not digging the cheap furnishing such as the fold up chairs and tables with cheap picnic table sheets to eat at. Service seemed slow and was not even very busy. Food was a hit or miss as in some fresh and some stale or overcooked. Sides seemed to be the major complaint such as fries brought to the table cold and many not as appetizing like the cole slaw. I recommend the fried tamales and nachos for appetizers. Bar is stocked and fairly priced. As for Morgan Freeman showing up, its all based on faith unless you are a local there. All the employees gave me different days and times as to when he makes an appearance.
