Shady's looked like a must stop for lunch as we were approaching Biloxi. As we got in view of the restaurant we surprised at the nice building and great decorations, it looked very welcoming to say the least. We then noticed a sign claiming "Best Thai on the Coast" and were very excited. Though we quickly realized in was far from the best. Starting with the food, we ordered the traditional Pad Thai and Pad See Yu, better known as Pad See Ew. As the plates arrived we noticed that they don't prepare the dishes in the most traditional of ways. Though as most know, everything is Americanized to a certain extent, still didn't bother us a bit. We dug in and the usual flavors weren't there. The Pad See Yu lacked the typical soy flavor, it was there but very very subtle. Also it didn't have any of the standard vegetables either, no broccoli or cabbage, lettuce or carrots. We eat a lot of Thai and at least one of these things are found in every dish we have ever had. Still, we put that aside. The Pad Thai was OK, it also lacked the sweet tangy flavor we are use too. Though it did match traditional dishes more closely than the others, it was not anything special and for sure not the "Best Thai on the Coast". The restaurant itself was nice, a decorative but comfortable feel, nice bar, and good solid service. The only negative with the service was the waitress didn't really know the menu that well, but other than that she was great. Also the prices were spot on. Overall we liked Shady's for reasons that are hard to describe and could see ourselves going again, despite the only reason we stopped (Thai) was a bust. Shady's won't be amazing or something you'll crave in your sleep, but it will provide a good lunch or dinner at a good price.

Shadys has a lot on their menu, in my opinion, too much to choose from. I often crave asian food, particularly because I lived in Japan for most of my life. My sister in law suggested that we get Shadys because its delicious, so I said okay and decided to give it a go. I have never dined in the restaurant, my sister in law lived extremely close so we ordered out twice. The customer service was okay over the phone, just someone on the other end taking my order. And upon pick up, they always had the food ready for us to take. My order was always the Pad Thai, and this rating is for that alone. I was not throughly impressed with it at all...its more of a souther take on what pad thai should be. It was oddly too orange and the noodles were either over or under done both times I ordered. Its not highly seasoned and I would even venture to say that it does lack in lots of flavor. However the portion is big and it did satisfy my craving since I don't know how to make pad thai on my own. shadys isn't something I'd go out to get on my own, its not something I crave and its nothing I would highly recommend. But since I've only had the Pad Thai my rating stands.

Had the hot mess burger with jalapeño ranch dressing, and my son had Wings. Both were fantastic, and the service is great too!

The service was great! We sat at the bar the two times we went and both the bartenders were awesome! I loved the atmosphere, they have tv's and also an outside patio. Great story behind the restaurant and the food was delicious. I had the black and blue pasta with steak and ate the whole thing. Definitely will be back!

Very bad service worse manager worst food. It was an unfortunate lunch that introduced me to Shady's shady eatery. Friend who took me there told me that everything was great. I ordered Thai beef salad I am very familiar with from DC area Thai restaurants. The plate brought out was anything but a Thai beef salad. It was huge pieces of romaine lettuce topped with a very fatty rib eye. The added dressing was overcome with the beef. The taste was not authentic. I called the waitress who eventually stopped by after 10 minutes. I sent back the plate and asked for anything else which could be cook fast. She took the plate and went into the kitchen. In a few, the female manager came by to ask me what was wrong with the dish. When I briefly explained she said that she does not want to argue but....then she argued about the authenticity if the dish how the chef was from Thailand, so forth. Well. I did not argue back with a manager who does not want to argue with her customer. Eventually she left and waitress came back to ask for another order. When I asked what was the quickest item on the menu she said " she does not know". I decided to know instead and ordered a lettuce wrap which was edible. So, I consider this place to be wonderful eatery for those with low expectations. Don't believe me? Try it.

Service was great, the environment is quiet, the tea was cold and sweet. Food came out quick and was excellent. I had the fried pickles, Christmas dip, chicken shawarma, and the banana pudding cheesecake. The pickles were excellent with a creole ranch, Christmas dip was what I expected not much more, and the shawarma was more curry flavored than I expected. While it was all a little off from what I expected it was very very good. I would say a 4 star experience if it weren't for the cheesecake. I can't begin to describe how good it was. So I won't. Just stop by and have some.

Shady's is located on Pass Road in Biloxi. The menu has a little bit of everything! Dishes such as New Orleans style Po-Boys and burgers, Thai, Ribs, Steaks, Chinese, and Mediterranean. There is a dish for everyone depending on your mood. The bar is nicely stocked as well. I hate to repeat other Yelpers but the decor is eclectic. There is also outdoor seating which is great when the weather is nice out! I want to try other menu options and will definite be back. During our visit the wait staff was on point, and very helpful. Solid 3.5 stars but I'll round up.

This is the first time I've returned to a restaurant after leaving a negative review. Since I knew their asian cuisine was garbage, we all got burgers, which we heard was pretty good. And....it was good, but....not like super amazing or anything. I already know a couple other places in town where I can get burgers that I enjoy more, like Mugshots, for example. Also, they were out of chicken wings. -_- So, my impression of this place improved a little bit, but still 3 stars.
(3)Daniel M.
Used to be one of my favs. Took my family from out of town and were all around let down. Hopefully just an off night in the kitchen but they got just about everything wrong (after a good 45min wait) somehow and even tho the wait staff and management were awesome about trying to help we all left a little underwhelmed. Came specifically for the best pad Thai around and just got hosed w over cooked, too salty, no bean sprout, sticky clump of noodles. Not sure I want to chance going back. Maybe they will do better once new menus arrive.

Never disappoints! Love the variety of food...it takes awhile to eat the same thing twice unless you are picky. Love the patio and fireplace. Staff is always great and on top of it.

I love this place. A unique restaurant on the Mississippi Gulf Coast featuring a comfortable outdoor dining area , nice well stocked bar and mixed Near Eastern/American decor. The eclectic menu centered around Thai, and ventured to up scale southern, hamburgers, middle eastern, Mediterranean, and local seafood. Today was my 6th visit in two years. Service is friendly but a bit slow when crowded. Figure an hour and 20 minutes for lunch when the place is half full at lunch during the week. This could be a testament on freshly prepared food, with management's eye on maintaining the bottom line with labor costs on unpredictable days. Anyway I don't care. I love this place! My lunch: First was a huge serving of fantastic garlicky hummus. The pita was toasted and brushed with olive oil..and it was hot! Next was a cup of Tom Kha, a coconut milk based spicy soup flavored with lemongrass and kafir lime leaves, last was a green chicken curry. It all was very good. My guest had the brisket bowl. The two green eggs on the patio were probably used to 'que it up. Not Sam's Club crappola bologna (b-O-l-O-g-n-a) that gets passed off as house cooked. It was generous portion of beef with rich brown gravy served over mashed potatoes. She loved it. I wanted it too. She said no. Damn. They have a kids menu too if you have to drag them along.
(5)Will G.
Stopped in for a burger at lunch and was pretty impressed. Great service and clean. The Hot Mess burger with fried jalapeños was great. I'll definitely be back.
(4)David Tracy K.
Great food, had the shawarma and tikka masala. Our favorite was the red curry but it's been several years since they've had this on their menu. Our waitress was very attentive but not annoyingly so. We've been stopping here throughout the past 7 years when we travel and always enjoy it.
(5)Michael C.
Went in on Saturday night, attempted to order several appetizer's and entrees and were informed all items we wanted were sold out. We decided on several other picks and then waited about 25 minutes. We asked where the food was and were told the cook walked out and that no one was available to replace him. Is 0 stars possible?
(1)Dillon S.
Some of the best food I've had, but my service was extremely slow
(4)Shahzad B.
From the service to the food, Shady's does not disappoint. It's different from other restaurants because of the diverse menu. Something to suit almost everyone's taste buds.
(5)Jeroen D.
I am so amazed that this place has such a diverse large menu. I've specifically tried all their Thai dishes and have not been disappointed. Singapore street noodles are my favorite but the asparagus dish they server is very good as well and I haven't even talked about their gumbo soup or hummus! There is something for everyone for a decent price. People seem to complain about their portion sizes but I think they are reasonable for the price you pay. Would definitely recommend this place!
(5)Tiffany A.
I enjoy eating here:) I always get curry ... It lacks veggies but still tasty when I'm too lazy to cook.
(5)James F.
First visit to Biloxi with Shady's being our first stop after a drive over from Texas. The menu is an interesting mix of items, possibly too much going on to focus on elevating flavors. With that said, our meal was decent. Would I dine here again? I would say yes, but I wouldn't order what I had again. We started off with the dumplings. Fully Deep fried instead of the usual pan treatment with an acceptable dipping sauce. My pineapple cilantro margarita was probably the highlight of the dining experience; very similar to what I could get at home in Texas. I ordered after much deliberation the schwarma. I'd never had it before, so thanks to the Avengers end credits I gave it a shot. Flavors similar to satay on the chicken, with pita bread, veggies, and a greek style sauce. Fries were good, but I wouldn't order it again. The wife had the spicy drunken noodles with tofu. Her summary was it was an average dish. I almost forgot to mention my cup of gumbo. Described as a dark roux, it wasn't even close. However, the flavors were quite good filled with generous shrimp, smoked sausage, and crawfish. Totally awesome water feature with beer taps on the back patio; I would definitely come back for some drinks and appetizers. Service was great, but I just can't get behind the continent jumping menu.
(3)Courtney A.
Great hummus - menu is undergoing changes so some items weren't available, but their Pad Thai was good.
(4)Carol C.
We came in 30 minutes before closing time, but they still accepted us and the waitress was extremely nice the whole time. She did a great job refilling our drinks and picking up our plates when it was needed. The food was really good. I ordered the pad Thai, and it was a little mushy but it was DELICIOUS. I think it was still fresh and the sauce made the noodles a little soft, but after it cooled down it was perfect.
(4)Rob L.
They changed the menus. The mango ribs are not served any more What were they thinking this was the best item on the list. Also they are not serving the pork chop any more , just another down fall to what used to be good place to go. We left and didn't order anything.
(1)Stan P.
Would probably give the food 2 stars and overall 3 stars. The place is kind of cool and has a really good vibe. The service was good. We started with the Christmas dip which was the best thing we had. I had the Crying Tiger Thai Beef Salad. It was kind of small, mostly iceberg, and it was absolutely swimming in pool of dressing. The steak was ordered medium but came well done. By the time I got to the bottom the lettuce wilted and soggy and pretty much gross. My wife had the Crazy Noddle which was OK but nothing special. Really not as good as you would get in a Thai restaurant. Not sure what to make of all the rave reviews. I'd have so say if you can't make all the exotic stuff well don't have it on the menu.
(2)Mary B.
I had a great dinner at Shady's a few weeks ago. I tried the Sinagpore Street Noodles, lettuce wraps, gyoza, Chicken Tikka Masala, Pad Thai, and Tiramisu. Some of the dishes seem more fusion, so if you are used to very authentic Tikka Masala or Pad Thai, you might notice the difference! The Tikka Masala was a little too sweet for me and the Pad Thai a little different for me, but I enjoyed many of the other dishes. It was great to see some variety to the menu! It's not easy finding a place that serves a mix of Asian food, but also has burgers and Po Boys. I'll definitely have to return. Service was great and I enjoyed a lot of the food too.
(4)Juanita E.
Service was awesome, ambiance great and the food was pretty good. Everyone left happy, but I thought the prices were pretty high.
(4)Clint P.
I have never had a bad meal here. I have eaten here on multiple occasions for lunch and dinner. The po boys and pad Thai are my favorite items on the menu.
(5)Anastasia V.
go during the weekend before 6 for best quality.

I would rate Shady's as about as good as it gets ... even though it falls outside "the lines". Maybe this is because I know the owner ... or maybe it is because I have great memories of eating and drinking here with a longtime friend. The last time I ate here, in January, it was to Wake my friend Woody ... whom had shared many a barstool and many an afternoon of conversation and trivialities that make up a friendship. We started, and then were joined by so many who had known Woody ... we had half the front dining room tables pulled together! We drank "Sea Nettles" of course (a drink that Woody invented and which tastes like a chocolate covered cherry). Woody is now in the VA columbarium, and only about 1 block from Shady's ... I'd say more ... but it is painful. As usual, I had the Tom Kha soup ... and it's out of this world ... and I still want the recipe (will you consider taking one of my children in trade? Your choice.)!

Awesome service... I do mostly pickup.... Only 10-15 mins and it's ready... The Cashew Chicken is to die for also the Crab Rangoon... Super awesome service !!!
(5)Lauren F.
I really enjoyed Shady's! The menu was huge with a ton of variety. My husband insisted on the hummus and he was exactly right. It was garlicky and delicious and the pita was buttery and warm. So so good. I ordered the Momma's hamburger steak because I was craving comfort food, and it was so delicious. Creamy mashed potatoes, super savory gravy and onions, and a huge hamburger steak. Yum!! My husband got the chicken tikka masala and it was different than other tikka masalas we've had but it was still good. Lots of spice and tons of flavor. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. Interesting decorations and good service. It shocks me that the chain restaurants around Biloxi are always packed when there are amazing restaurants like Shady's around. Try something new, people! You might be surprised!!
(4)Ray Q.
This is American-Thai fusion menu with plenty of items to choose from like the Pad Thai or Curry an authentic Thai experience or order the American burger-huge, small and tight parking. Full bar and nice selection of wines.
(3)Jamie M.
The workers were friendly and it was clean inside I had the Drunken Noodles from their Thai food selections, it was oily and they didn't use the wide noodle. Also the didn't have Thai Tea.
(3)Michael C.
Love going to Shady's. The food is great. Even the wife loves the food which is amazing. Great selections. Though I'm partial to the pad Thai just about everything is great. Burgers are good and the new menu has added some interesting stuff that I can't wait to try. That being said the service can be spotty. Wether its from never getting refills on drinks or never being told about specials. Sometimes I wonder if the staff even cares at times. Seems to be a new thing because when going with my coworkers before never had a problem with it sat at the bar and had great time. Don't let that scare you away from trying this place. Get the Xmas dip to start and work your way down the menu. This place will soon become one of your favorites as well!
(4)Steve I.
I like Shady's. It's different from most other places in biloxi area. They serve the usual steaks, pork chops, ribs, and burgers that you will find at other places but they also have lots of other foods that you wont find anywhere else in this area. I love their cashew chicken and the pad thai chicken!!

27April @ 1130 First impression outside looks kinda sketchy; walking in: very nice decor, clean, with friendly staff. They have a bar with 5 TVs. Ordered Thai lettuce wraps but they were in the process of making them and were not available ( not sure why its not ready, even if they prepped the day of they should come in earlier and get it ready by opening or even just make it fresh for a customer right then and there?) so in lieu of the wraps I got the calamari. Calamari lacked flavor and were in very tiny pieces for the most part hidden by a few big pieces on top; I felt like I was digging through a bag of broken chips at the bottom of the bag; literally. For an entree I got the chicken/tofu pad Thai; really nice that I was able to get half and half chicken and tofu rather than "either or" so that's a plus that they are flexible. My only problem is that they didn't have beef pad Thai which is my favorite. After eating it, I went from impressed to depressed; not a fan at all. Its not spicy, you have to add chili garlic to it rather then them cooking it with whole spicy peppers (so not spicey at all). My biggest disappointment was that they made the dish sweet; awful decision. The noodles were super chewy, barely any veggies ( some green onions and bean sprouts) and overall not to my satisfaction at all. A little Thai place in Joplin Missouri had better Pad Thai (larger portions and cheaper). If you are into American style Asian food then you'll like this place, if you want authentic please go elsewhere. Pros: nice atmosphere, decor and staff. My waiter was Rae and she was real nice; to bad the food wasn't that good. I did post pics; hope this was helpful.

Me and my husband are from New Orleans and found this place just driving around. The fried artichokes are delicious. I had the pulled pork and Paul had the brisket. Portion size was more than enough and was great. Will defiantly eat here again the next time we are in Biloxi.
(4)christina C.
I've tried Shadys twice and was unimpressed both times. Chicken wings were dry and served with sauce on the side instead of tossing the wings in it. Drunken noodles were made with regular linguini noodles and dried basil- nothing fresh about it. Their bar drinks were also way over priced. The atmosphere was the only +
(2)David B.
First impression was, nice place, good place to get drinks because of the 2 bars. Came for lunch, wasn't greeted by anyone except our waiter who came about 3 minutes after we sat down. Good selection of food and descriptions. A goup after us sat down and got their food before us and we ordered 3 appetizers and 2 salads. Salads were good but the lettuce wraps were ok, probably wouldn't order them if we go back. Can't really mess up oysters, they were kind of small. Prices are ok, 2 out of 4 $. Overall I rate it 2 stars because there is much they can improve on. Greeting, more girls serving (all guys working), a waiter spilled ice on guest and food wasn't great.

"Ordered Thai Fried rice lunchtime. Not Thai. No spice. More like un-seasoned Jambalya." Finish your review

Stopped at Shady's because my first choice was closed (won't mention, but it was down the road). My awesome girlfriend saw the outdoor seating once when we drove by and wanted to try it out. But that day it was about 30 degrees so we went inside. The menu is very interesting and a ton of choices. It's a great place to go if you have people with different tastes as it has American, Thai, middle eastern, and others. I had just seen an episode of Dr. Oz that day which mentioned the health benefits of lemon grass. So with that, the lemon grass soup quickly grabbed my attention and I ordered that. If I was giving stars on this soup alone, I'd give it 5! The soup was amazing! The lemony taste was perfect and not too overwhelming. I ordered the chicken and it had plenty of it in the soup. Can't really remember the vegetables in the soup, but it was simply amazing! Especially since it was cold outside. For the dinner I decided to go with the Beef Bul Go Gee. The reason I went with this was cause I wanted a meal that would fill me up, as it came with rice, and my love of Korean ribs. I've been eating, and even cook my own, Korean ribs for some years now so when I read how it was prepared I was expecting it to taste like mine. When the plate was brought out the first thing I, and my awesome girlfriend, noticed was that it wasn't that much food. I expected the Korean ribs to come as a whole, with the bones, but they actually cut the bones and just served the meat. It looks like they cut about 2 to 2 1/2 ribs to make the meal. I can eat 6 of them, bone-in, with a hefty serving of rice. After we complained about the small portions, I was hoping the taste would make me forget that. The taste was just not there. While I am no chef, the ones I make had a better taste, and I use the same ingredients they do: soy, sesame and garlic. The rice was not that good as there were some bites where the rice stuck to my teeth...you know when you let rice sit out for a while it gets hardened. This definitely made me rethink me wanting to go back and try the hummus, which I wanted. If it wasn't for the closing of the original place we were planning to go to, I don't think I would've made it in there. I doubt we will ever go back, but I will definitely go there to get some of the lemongrass soup which was simply amazing (yes, I said it again, it's just that good). The main entree was just disappointing. The lay out of the restaurant was real nice, it was clean , and there are TVs all around. The environment and the service were great (5 stars), but the food did not meet expectations.
(2)Peter C.
Service: Poor Food quality: Poor Overall Experience: Need I say more. I will not be returning. Went there for dinner while visiting friends in the Biloxi area. I ordered the spring rolls and buffalo chicken sandwich. The spring rolls are overpriced (only two small rolls) and they look like left overs from the night prior. Diner BEWARE! When reviewing my credit card statement, the waiter added an additional $10 tip to my bill. I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager who hung up the phone on me. Shady's is into SHADY business!
(1)Jessica G.
I've been here three times, and have had good items and bad items. The best item I've had are the Spicy Drunken Noodles. Seriously...they're so spicy and delicious! The last time I was there I had the brisket poboy, and it was terrible. There was a ton of fat on it and it was really tough. I grew up eating brisket, so I know when it's cooked properly.
(4)Lo S.
WHO GOES TO SHADY'S AND GETS PIZZA? There are so many mouth watering selections on this menu...PIZZA WAS THE FURTHEST THING FROM MY MIND. I have been here before but decided to stop in for a quick bite. There was no one in there so it was safe to sit at the bar. The bartender was so polite and patient. He was really funny, also. I ordered a cucumber melon martini and my friend ordered a mango martini. BOTH WERE AMAZINGLY FLAVORFUL AND DELISH! We both commented on how great the drinks were several times. Shady's is top notch as far as food AND drinks go. The menu has everything from Wings to Curry Chicken. So it's like an american/carribean/asian fusion. LET ME TELL YOU... THE LETTUCE WRAPS with Hosin sauce HERE ARE SO FREAKIN GOOD. As I type this I want to get in my car and go back right now. THE LETTUCE WRAPS PUT SHADY'S ON THE MAP!! I cannot put into words how damn good they are. Their spring rolls are questionable, though. Food: I ordered Pad Thai. I've had the real deal in korea so I expected to be disappointed. The Pad Thai was simply divine. The portion sizes here are gargantuan. It actually made a few meals out of it. My friend got fried rice which is way too boring for me. I didn't taste it but she said it was good. I've never left Shady's unsatisfied. The service was great and the food was even better. And it wasn't expensive either. If I lived in Biloxi, I'd eat there every other day until I ate everything on the menu. Shady's is the Biz!!
(5)David P.
Here's a recap of what we experienced; Volcano Shrimp- pretty good with a nice, slightly spicy sauce Lettuce Wraps- If you're thinking P.F Changs, you will be disappointed. Mango Mahi- the tiniest piece of fish I've ever seen served, swimming in a sea of sauce. Ribs & Mashed Potatoes - scallions on top of ribs...really? Sauce was ok. Potatoes were probably the best thing we had this night. If I were to be given a do-over, I would probably go with a sandwich or something simple. If you are looking to cure a Thai fix, you will be disappointed.

My husband and I have been on a few casual date nights here at Shady's. Great atmosphere and somewhat romantic ambiance with the dim lighting and a candle set on each table. There are tv's by the bar, but you won't be able to hear what's going on due to the music playing (awesome taste in music btw), but you'd be able to read the subtitles. We always usually order the same thing every time. Shrimp pad thai, yellow chicken curry, and the crying tiger thai beef salad. All very delish. Never have i gotten a bland pad thai. We've also eaten their calamari and fried oysters, their batter was a little bit too hard for my liking, but my husband likes the calamari. Too bad they don't have fresh oysters since the oil spill. The creole pasta was also good, so I was told. Great service by all the employees. Our waiters refilled our water when needed and came by our table when appropriate. Everyone in the restaurant is always in a happy-go-lucky mood which makes our experience that much better. We've also been to their Karaoke Fridays, which is always fun. Even if you are tone def and can not sing, no one cares, plus drinking some liquid courage also helps. People usually come close to midnight for some reason, so don't be afraid that there's no one there yet if you are there early. Never had any problems with parking.

Like Jill M mentioned, I came here before when it was Thai Passion and it was pretty good. Not nearly as good as the old Bangkok House in Ocean Springs but being one of TWO Thai places on the coast you can't be hella choosey. That said, after Hurricane Katrina they were able to open but couldn't get all of the product needed for thei Thai cuisine so they went 'global'. That said a few months after Katrina, it seemed Shady's turned into a club. WTF would i want to eat in a CLUB? What i'm getting at is, it is what it is, you can get Thai, World cuisine or get drunk. It's your call. You can also check out the new Thai Lotus, i think, in Gulfport. Don't take places like this for granted because before you know it you'll be driving to another city and/or state just to get ethnic food.
(3)Kimberly J.
We had the spring rolls for an appetizer and although the order had only two rolls, they were delicious! my entree was the Creole Shrimp Pasta. It was quite tasty However, I will try a different dish when I return.
(3)Liz V.
My husband and I went to Shady's because it was close to the Base and we read good reviews. The atmosphere was nice, it would have been better if there weren't a group of drunk guys making awkward passes at the young ladies in the restaurant. I had Sweet and Sour Tofu with jasmine rice. It was alright, I don't think I'd order it again though, my dish was drowning in sauce. Sometimes you can have TOO MUCH of a good thing. My husband got a buffalo chicken sandwich that he really enjoyed. We ordered Volcano Shrimp as an appetizer and it was AMAZING! I really loved it! The service was really good. Our waitress was attentive and friendly.

Received excellent service. Food very good.

We had driven by this place numerous times and finally decided to give it a try. My friend D is new to oysters so we ordered the BBQ Bacon Charboiled oysters and they were fantastic! Highly recommended! We ordered the raw oysters as well, they were average, and the horseradish was alright. Nothing exciting. Because we needed more than just fish in our systems, we also ordered the Mac Daddy Nachos. Fantastic. All that was enough to fill us up. We went on a lazy Sunday afternoon so the service was good, they had no reason to be slow. I know of others who have gone to Shadys and they too agree the food is great! See the picture of the giant steak! Highly recommended!
(4)Mau D.
I was disappointed with the food in this resto. We are in town for training in Keesler and this was the first thai resto we tried. Since it has such a lot of great reviews we thought food here must be great. But it was awful. The pad thai was greasy, way too sweet, and had more of scrambled eggs than the noodles. The egg rolls looked like they were refried couple of times. You can tell by its color. Forget this reataurant! We will never come back here.
(1)Cody T.
Great place to eat. From their fried pickles to their yellow chicken curry, it's a great restaurant. It's also a great place to have a drink. They also have a pretty fun karaoke night on Fridays.
(4)Remy O.
Bad service, bad food not worth the time or energy to even write a review. Started with the Christmas dip (** stars) chips were stale and it tasted like soap. For the entree had Pad Thai (** stars) must be rationing out the chicken because after a few bites I couldn't find it. On the bar side the drinks were good but the servers seem to like to hide in the kitchen. You literally have to wave a hand to get their attention. Not at these prices. Sorry I don't see myself going back again. Might want to consider bringing back the belly dancer lessons on thurs nights!!! Then I might try it out again!!!

Definitely one of the most eclectic menus in Biloxi. From pad thai to pizza Shady's has something that will suit everyone's palate. My fear of places like this is the jack of all trades, master of none syndrome that usually sets in but although they have their hands in many pots each dish that I've tried is done well.
(3)Tom M.
Very unique menu, very unique atmosphere. The coconut milk soup was delicious, my wife had the Pad Thai and I had the Asparagus and Steak dish. They were both delicious and the portions were huge. The had Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan on draught, which is always a plus. But the best thing we had was the banana pudding cheesecake. Amazing. Our waitress was great too!

I had been to this restaurant several years ago when it was called something else (Thai Passion?). Wanted to check it out to see if it was still as good. I went for lunch on a weekday with some coworkers. I had the Pad Thai and it was excellent. Great portion sizes, plentiful drink refills, and great service. Highly recommend!

Fantastic menu at Shady's. I lived in Asia for a year, toured four countries on the continent, and I think Shady's yellow chicken curry would top the same dish found in any of them. I'm looking forward to going back and sampling more of the menu. **Tried their gumbo yesterday and I'm surprised to say, it was the best I've ever had.

I recently visited Shady's for the first time and couldnt have been more displeased. The food was so bad that I couldnt even eat it, ended up taking most of it home and eventually threw it in the trash! There are so many over-rated restaurants in Ocean Springs and this is certainly one of them. I never can understand why people make such a big fuss over mediocre food.
(1)Josh S.
Great menu, seafood-American-Thai infusion, pad Thai next to chicken fried steak, something for everyone on menu, good local beer, pad Thai greatness, good fried pickles, wonton-smores out of this world for dessert, def recommend

While nothing we ordered was horrible it was less then what we expected. Looking from the outside the place catches your attention, walking in it seems like a cool laid back place to hang out. We just stopped in for Apps and drinks. Walked in and no hostess in site, no worries we were going to the bar anyway. Sat at the bar and was quickly waited on by the bartender. Ordered up the drinks and apps. Service was quick and the food came out fast as well. As a previous reviewer wrote, we got the Christmas dip and sure enough the dang chips were stale. They suck you in to the Christmas dip because they really don't tell you what is in it, other than sausage. OK for me cream cheese and sausage DO NOT mix. YUCK! Also ordered the tuna dip, you're normally safe with this one ;-) Only one type of cracker served with the tuna dip and that is saltines :( Would have been nice to have a bit more selection on crackers. You know maybe club crackers or Melba toast or pita chips? something other then the run of the mill saltines. Again while nothing was really bad, nothing was really good either. Would we go back, nope. Nothing really stood out and begged us to come back. Oh and we were there at about 7pm on a Friday night and there were tons of open seats. Does that tell you anything? Most places are packed on Friday and Sat nights.

I was craving THAI food and while visiting relatives in this area, we decided to go to Shady's to eat PAD THAI. At the parking lot I said: cute place,I made a great choice. The interior was ok as well, but service was horrible, the waitress was never around and I've never seen a pad thai so pale in my life!!! Mandarin sauce is usually dark and not white like it was and when the waitress finally came over I mention that I could taste the fish oil but not the mandarin and she said: " I am sorry to hear that, I hope you enjoy the rest of your meal" LMAO I could not believe it! Why didn't she bring me extra sauce???? My husband order the Cashew Chicken and he didn't like it at all!!! I've been to many thai places around the US and this one is very AVERAGE!!!! I am not coming back!!!
(2)Ashley S.
Atmosphere is casual and cool. Love our server Rae. We've been eating here about a year and it's always consistent. She greets us by name and our order is always spot on. My fave is the asparagus lover & hubby likes the house fried rice with chicken. Overall I give it an A- because they close for long periods of time around every holiday which is the only time we visit the coast. This week they were closed 5 days for Thanksgiving which is crazy in my opinion.
(5)Brenda A.
Well, I went out on a limb and ordered the nachos w/pulled pork...and the banana pudding cheesecake. The nachos were okay, nothing fantastic...I tried my friend's pad su thai, that was pretty good, I've never had any before so I can't compare it. Then the desert came, and holy smokes it was amazing. Seriously, go for the dessert. :)

I met a friend at Shady's for lunch, at her suggestion. After reading the previous reviews on this site, I thought I should order the yellow curry dish, or the lettuce wraps; although I was still open to reading the menu and seeing what was offered. I ordered the lettuce wraps (my friend had her "usual," the yellow curry). The lettuce wraps were very good! I was expecting something along the lines of P.F. Chang's chicken lettuce wraps, but these were much more interesting. The chicken is ground, and the dish is served with sauce on the side. For me, the portion was perfect--just generous enough that I wasn't able to finish it, but not so generous that I needed a to-go box or felt like I was wasting my leftovers. Also, the price was very reasonable. My friend ate all of her yellow curry dish, so I can only assume it was (at the least) satisfactory. I have only one minor complaint and one major complaint. The minor complaint is that the service could have been much better. The service was little more than that found at a buffet restaurant. We received our drinks, food, and checks in a timely manner; yet there was no real concern or care in the service. The major complaint would be the parking. This cute, festive restaurant is at a fairly busy, tight corner and the parking is less than sufficient. Overall, the quality of the food and the atmosphere (for me) outweigh the cons. I would recommend Shady's to anyone looking for something unique, affordable and delicious in Biloxi.
(4)Heidi B.
I can't speak for the whole menu because I always order the same thing, but I love it. The gumbo is super yummy as an app. The chicken pad thai is so good as an entree. The plate is huge and you will have to take some home. Although the last time I went they wouldn't make it hot - you had to add the spice yourself. Weird. And the peanuts were in a cup on the side. I liked it better when the would make it hot for me and the peanuts were already mixed in. But it's still some of the best pad thai around. The service is always crappy but I have accepted that.
(4)Jeff G.
Mediocre Thai with average service. Prices rather high for the quality you get. Plating is OK though and the interior is fine.

People seem to love or hate Shady's. The first time I ate there the food was mediocre and the service was deplorable, yet I still went back twice. People raved about Shady's so much that I figured my bad experiences were anomalies, and I tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt. But the third time wasn't the charm, and Shady's can count me among its haters. Shady's was originally a Thai restaurant, but they have since branched out. The result is the Dream Cafe from Seinfeld transported to Biloxi with new management. Shady's serves an eclectic array of cuisines, including Thai, Italian, Creole, Soul Food and steaks. Unfortunately, they do none of them particularly well. The first time I ate there I ordered a pizza. What they brought out looked like a defrosted DiGiorno - the cheese hadn't even fully melted. We practically had to pry the waiter away from the bar to serve us. The second time my group ordered the Christmas Dip and the chips served with it were stale. I had the yellow curry for an entree, which was decent, but nothing to write home about. One of my party ordered a steak medium well and when it arrived there was so much blood on the plate she couldn't bear to look at it, let alone eat it. My second trip to Shady's would have been my last, but I was cajoled into returning for a coworker's going away party. We ordered the Christmas Dip for an appetizer, and again the chips were stale. I chose the Creole Pasta for my entree on a recommendation. The chicken and pasta came smothered in a bright orange sauce that looked more radioactive than appetizing. It tasted okay, but was nothing special (aside from the shocking orange sauce). At first appearance Shady's looks more like a sports bar than a restaurant. Several distracting televisions are mounted on the walls around the interior. Twice when I visited the background music was blasting at concert hall pitch, which made conversation difficult to say the least. The waiters at Shady's are ambivalent at best and belligerent at worst. I've seen one grab a half-full beer bottle off the table when its drinker wasn't looking, and another one called one of my coworkers a bitch to her face for requesting a clean fork. I've read glowing reviews of Shady's, and I wanted to like the place. But I gave Shady's three chances and it failed miserably each time. The menu items look good in print, but disappoint when put on a plate. The bad attitude of the waitstaff, the strange atmosphere and the awful parking only make a bad situation worse. It mystifies me how some people rave about this place.
(1)Jordan S.
Wow, I really love this place. Formerly called Thai Passion, the ownership has remained the same, but the name has changed and the menu expanded. There are still plenty of Thai dishes, but also burgers, pizzas, and Mediterranean dishes. Everything is prepared fresh and tastes great. The decor is interesting, consisting of about 12-15 tables and a sports bar. But, the atmosphere is cool, with vaulted ceiling and unique lighting. The waitstaff has always been extremely pleasant. I would eat here every day if I could afford it. The Mediterranean Shrimp Pasta is a great dish with a very unique taste. I can't really describe it other than, HOLY CRAP that was good.
(4)Miranda H.
I have gone to Shady's & had the BEST food. I have gone & spent a nice little chunk of change on mediocre food. The menu does change so it can be a hit & miss. LOVE the ambiance....dark, candelight, nice patio & bar. Even see the guy outside smoking the meat. I recommend the cashew chicken & the crab rangoon.
(3)Jill M.
are you kidding me? 5 star reviews for this place?? I went here a few times when it was "Thai passion" (dumb name) and it was MUCH better as that. After it became shady's i ventured here twice..fool me once, shame on you..fool me twice..shame on me. I have never in my lfie seen such horrible service the 2nd time around..and im not talking about servers just being apathetic about their job like the first time, im talking god-awful-things-you-should-never-do-as-a-server service!!! Hearing two waitresses cuss each other on the floor in front of the entire restaurant, having your waiter tell you that your menu choice "sucks" (btw, both times we went there were many things on the menu that we were told were not available). The kicker was when we literally had to stop our waiter after he kept passing our table and ignoring our "excuse me" for the check. When he did bring the check, he TOSSED the plastic check holder on our table while continuing to breeze past us, thus hitting my drink and nearly spilling it on me. The food is average at best. But seriously..go here if you are a severe masochist and love paying to be ignored and treated like a f'n burden.

Huge menu, small kitchen, and amzing food! Its rare to find great Indian and Thai cuisine next to delicious American fare. I visit Shady's at least once every 2 weeks and am impressed every time!
(4)Brittany and Tim L.
pad thai yummy. a huge portion for a good price. friendly service and wow what a selection in the menu. good mixed drinks too. not much parking and the building looks like a house painted blue. i would reccomend for a night out with friends
(5)Paul M.
Very good reasonably priced food and fine wait service. The quiet bar and the dining area are all in one room; when we walked in and saw customers smoking at the bar we expected strong smoke odors, but it was hardly noticeable. Interesting and delicious appetizer menu including BBQ ribs, deep fried crawdads w sliced jalapenos, spring roll. Curry and Pad Thai entrees were excellent. Five star place with one deducted for cigarette smoke.
(4)Jamie M.
(3)Remy O.

Great place to eat. From their fried pickles to their yellow chicken curry, it's a great restaurant. It's also a great place to have a drink. They also have a pretty fun karaoke night on Fridays.

Try it.

Great menu, seafood-American-Thai infusion, pad Thai next to chicken fried steak, something for everyone on menu, good local beer, pad Thai greatness, good fried pickles, wonton-smores out of this world for dessert, def recommend

are you kidding me?

I visit Shady's at least once every 2 weeks and am impressed every time!

pad thai yummy. a huge portion for a good price. friendly service and wow what a selection in the menu. good mixed drinks too. not much parking and the building looks like a house painted blue. i would reccomend for a night out with friends

They changed the menus. The mango ribs are not served any more What were they thinking this was the best item on the list. Also they are not serving the pork chop any more , just another down fall to what used to be good place to go. We left and didn't order anything.

I enjoy eating here:) I always get curry ... It lacks veggies but still tasty when I'm too lazy to cook.

Stopped in for a burger at lunch and was pretty impressed. Great service and clean. The Hot Mess burger with fried jalapeños was great. I'll definitely be back.

Great food, had the shawarma and tikka masala. Our favorite was the red curry but it's been several years since they've had this on their menu. Our waitress was very attentive but not annoyingly so. We've been stopping here throughout the past 7 years when we travel and always enjoy it.

(4)Daniel M.

Great hummus - menu is undergoing changes so some items weren't available, but their Pad Thai was good.
(4)Juanita E.
Service was awesome, ambiance great and the food was pretty good. Everyone left happy, but I thought the prices were pretty high.

I have never had a bad meal here. I have eaten here on multiple occasions for lunch and dinner. The po boys and pad Thai are my favorite items on the menu.
(5)Jim B.

This is American-Thai fusion menu with plenty of items to choose from like the Pad Thai or Curry an authentic Thai experience or order the American burger-huge, small and tight parking. Full bar and nice selection of wines.
