Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The restaurant is clean. The service is okay. They don't itemize on all of their checks... The food is average. I've dined here twice and I think I've had my fill of the place.

I really enjoyed supper with my son and grandsons here. Normally I'm focused on the food, but this was all about visiting. The staff and the food made it easy to do just that. I had a carnitas taco dinner and it was superb. This my second visit and I foresee more in the future.

The latest entry in the Mexican category in the 'Burg, and it might just be the best. The food is pretty standard fare, nothing particularly imaginative among the usual taco & burrito combos, but it's all fresh & beautifully prepared. The chips are fresh, the salsa mild & sweet for the gringos. I asked for a hotter salsa & was pleased to taste a beautiful smoked chipotle concoction, just the right zing. Our server Carlos was a gem, providing us with perfectly attentive service. And the prices were quite reasonable -- loved the dollar margaritas for the Tuesday night special! we'll be back for sure.

I have lived in the burg for a number of years and have sampled all the Mexican food in this town and I would say this is exceptionally good restaurant. I suggest the chimichanga ordered extra crispy and it comes with queso, beans and rice. One way you can tell a good Mexican restaurant is by the basics like rice beans and queso. Hands down the best beans and rice and you get a generous portion of flavorful, seasoned chicken. Glad to have this addition to the burg.

Went there a while back and had to wait 10 minutes after being seated to get our menus. Then we had to wait a while to get our drinks. Our food came out in a decent amount of time, but we had no silverware, so we had to wait for that. The food was sub par. It's strange because the Italian restaurant that used to be where El Monteray now is had the same issues with waiting....maybe it's just that the location is cursed.... If you want good Mexican food in Warrensburg, go to the newly opened Cancun across from Hastings

The best mexican restaurant you will find in the area. Wonderful service, delightfully flavorful and top quality food. I had the seafood fajitas (forget the exact name, but they had scallops, shrimp, fish and fake crab) and was very impressed with the freshness of the seafood and other ingredients. Also thought the Margarita was good, and everyone else enjoyed their meals entirely (our older boy shocked us by devouring his large platter of carnitas within minutes). Service could not have been better despite being a large group right at closing time. We had multiple rounds of crisp warm chips and robust rich salsa and enjoyed some pleasant banter and light spanish lessons with our waiter. His english was excellent, but he would mix in enough spanish to keep it authentic, such as calling my wife "Amiga". I travel a LOT, and this is one of the best Mexican restaurants anywhere.

We went to this place just about an hour after its grand opening. It's not in a great spot so it wasn't busy. (we may have been the first customers) The inside is newly remodeled in adobe style and is very authentic looking. The manager of this place is very friendly and helpful. Chips were very good but the Salsa needed a little more kick too it. Warrensburg has terrible water, so we were relieved when our drinks were made with filtered water. We ordered a Chicken Chimichanga and a California style burrito. Both meals were delicious and it only took about 5 minutes for the food to get to the table! The real kicker was dessert. My girlfriend had a Chimi-Cheesecake which i'm told was the most amazing dessert she's ever had at a Mexican place. I had the fried ice cream which was perfect as well. Our bill was only about $25 too! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Mexican food and i hope it stays in business!

Nice and clean for a Mexican restaurant. The food is just average.

Great cheese Enchilada....I think they use their queso as the filling. Salsa was pretty good but the chips were great.

This place was way below my expectations. The food was distasteful, there were no soap or paper towels in the unkempt, dirty bathroom, and the rude waiter did not refill my drink even though it has been emptied for over 30 minutes. I will not be coming back to this place.

Not good. Sad if this is the best Mexican in the Burg. It is clean and nice but maybe stick to drinks. The chips and salsa wasn't even that good.

I stayed in Warrensburg for 2 weeks on a work trip and ate here many many times. The food is excellent, literally everything I had was top notch! I was pleasantly surprised that such a place exists in the middle of Missouri. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the burrito mexicano. I had to drop a star because the bathrooms were in disarray multiple times; no paper towels, no soap - seriously??

Being from Southern California I had come to this Mexican joint with some pretty high expectations, seeing how it was touted as one of the best Mexican restaurants in Warrensburg. The place was a hole in the wall, in a run down little strip mall, that being said some of the best food comes from places like this. When I walked in I was not greeted by any staff, I was actually stuck in this cramped hallway with tons of people trying to pay there bill blocking my path to the host stand. Horrible set up. When I was finally greeted I was lectured about not being close enough to the host stand for them to see me. When I was seated I was greeted with a menu that was filthy, dried salsa dripped all over the menu pages, nasty. Order some drinks and was amazed when the person I was with ordered a drink from there joke of a "bar". Apparently they don't make margaritas in house and all there mixed drinks are pre mixed with there horrible tasting well booze. Mexican restaurant that doesn't make there own margaritas, are you kidding me?! When the food arrived it was mediocre at best. Something toco bell could probably make and serve for half the price. I gave them 2 stars because the wait staff is attentive at best and refilled my drinks twice without asking. Will not spend any more money in this joke of a Mexican restaurant.
