Go for the food, not the decor. Lacks ambience, men's room out of paper towels. But our breakfast was delicious. Eggs up grilled perfectly, hashed browns crispy as requested. Large slice of tasty country ham - not rubbery/overcooked - and pancakes with a nice texture...all this for six bucks. My wife's Mexican omelette was a generous portion, and had real jalapenos, not offered most places. Although she was busy on this Monday before Christmas, our server, Charity, was cheerful and friendly, providing just the right amount of attention, checking back to confirm we were pleased with our meal, and topping off coffee.

I have posted a review about this location before, after having a horrible experience last time I figured I would come back and track my experience step by step and see if they have improved. I just walked in after biking her and had my water bottle on me and in my hand and the first thing out of the lady's mouth(old lady, who I assume is the manager) says " you have to put that away...very rudely. Now when I walk into a restaurant of any sort I prefer and expect a friendly welcome, which as e,petted from previous visits unfortunately. I walk in to see a "new" pastry case containing the pies and cheese cakes. It looks better than the case they had in here previously, so I order some cheese to the server taking care of me. ( it is an utter relief she is friendly and attentive, every server I've EVER had here has been passive or a drug addict, from their demeanor). Granted I'm a server at a fine dining restaurant in town, I expect exceptional service everywhere I dine, so that contributes to how critical I am of all establishments I visit. Anyways my food has come within a ten minute period after ordering and my server is still very attentive to my needs and my order is correct. My servers name is Debbie and I have to say she is a delight. Ask for her if you ever come in and she is sure to deliver great service. I have finished my meal and for the first time I am satisfied with this place. I expect mediocre food for a cheap price and that's what I received. I don't expect this place to have excellent food, or else it wouldn't be what it is. Overall a good visit to ziggies.

Great spot in Springfield with huge breakfast portions! I had the chicken fried steak skillet with biscuits and gravy. The skillet was great and had lots of flavor and was served piping hot, I'd order it again in a second. I loved the biscuits and gravy, lots of sausage in the gravy and again very hot! I never had an empty coffee cup and my date loved her French toast platter. It is a quintessential breakfast spot with great service!

Had the best server there, a real sweetheart. She made us and our service dog feel at home. It is a casual cafe but neat and clean and hometown comfort food. They run specials and we each ordered the all you can eat BBQ ribs. Talk about fall off the bone meaty tenderness with a great sauce! She brought seconds when she saw we were nearly done and boy did we enjoy them. The normal serving is plenty but we could not resist the second plate as they were so good. They also offer your choice of sides. It was so good we went back a second time on our way home from Chicago. Oh, did I mention the price--$9.99 for all you can eat ribs. That's a steal.

Food was great. The portions were large and the Waitress was very pleasant. We will be back when traveling through. I usually can find something where ever we eat but not today.

I don't know anyone (and neither do you) who enjoys breakfast-for-dinner more than I do, but to be perfectly honest, the only reason I triedm this place is because it was located about 100 feet from my motel room door and it had been a long day. That's also why I'm going to keep this brief. I had the house breakfast skillet (two eggs, hash browns, veggies, ham, sausage, AND Bacon, cheese). Every individual component was cooked perfectly (no easy feat in my opinion). That would have been more than enough food, but it also came with a side of biscuits and gravy, which were also excellent. Where else can you get all of that AND a LARGE orange juice for $9?? Only in your dreams my friend.

What can I say, for breakfast this place is great. I had the original skillet and it was delicious. They give you a ton of food and I couldn't finish it all, but I wanted to. If you are looking for breakfast, look no further.

The diner was kind of dirty looking. The waitress was really nice though and very fast and efficient. The breakfast was okay. The coffee was better than other diners. The service was good but food mediocre.

Great casual place for breakfast around the clock. Our server was great. Food was good and priced right. I would recommend this spot.

I'm a hugh fan of their breakfast anytime, love their biscuits and gravey, staff has always been nice and helpful, seems like they are always busy and don't have to wait for a table.

Worst meal I have had in a very long time. The broccoli was served in a bowl with water in the bottom and was so mushy that it was easily mashed with my fork. I ordered salmon because I was told it was grilled and it came out looking like it had been dredged in flour and perhaps cooked on a flat top grill. I was able to eat the house salad and their Italian dressing was very good. I picked at the salmon and cut off the coating and ate what I could. I was told they would discount my meal by half, but they didn't. Please avoid this place!

Our waitress was pretty cool! and was a great way to recover from a busy saturday. Perfect place to enjoy a very filling breakfast for a decent price.

I was expecting more. My food was average, but my wife ordered the grilled salmon and it came back breaded. Her vegetables were mushy and soggy. And our waiter only came by once to check on us and it wasn't even busy. When we complained they said they would take half off, but when we went to pay they didn't give us the itemized receipt until after we paid. After quickly leaving I then looked closer at the bill and found out that they didn't take any off. Not a good experience.
