It's been a few months since I last was in Springfield, but I can't get this place off my mind. It may be because I keep referring it to all my coworkers traveling to our MO facility. Walnut Street Inn is my favorite B&B I've ever stayed in. They have customer service down to a science and are more welcoming to business travelers than one might expect! They even have a great corporate pricing and mid-week pricing scale that makes them a sensible travel option. Plus, when I mentioned I was heading into the office, they sent me to the office with some homemade cookies! Now that is a great way to start a busy workday! Situated within walking distance to the heart of downtown, this B&B offers both a convenient location and a sense of visiting your loving grandmother's cottage. The breakfasts are unbelievably delicious!! Additionally, it was so nice to be able to choose the time of my breakfast as well as if I wanted to socialize at the dining room table or nosh while I got ready in my room. The rooms are a perfectly B&B: vintage, comfortable, and full of history. Yes, my room had a tub in the middle of it, at it made it that much better! You can tell they take pride in keeping both the authenticity and the quality of the rooms.

My wife and I spent our anniversary here. It was a fantastic experience. The room was stocked and very clean. Everything from the hot tub to the location made this special. Than breakfast was amazing! Great experience for any couple looking for a getaway without leaving town.

This B&B has a special place in my heart. My fiancé proposed to me here in our quaint little room with the rose petals on the floor and strewn across the bed, candles lit all around, and champagne and chocolates on the table. Walnut Street Inn definitely created an atmosphere for our unforgettable night. I've been here twice, and will return back every single time we go to Springfield. Skip the hotels and motels forever. Plus the downtown location is perfect ... Restaurants and bars are super close.

The Inn is very cozy and convenient for downtown or university business. Good alternative to University Plaza or Holiday Inn Express and MUCH cheaper. Breakfast was very good and so was the company. Two drawbacks: lots of cable channels but itty bitty tv. Also after a few minutes I was dancing around the shower to hot cold hot cold. That was annoying. Overall very good for atmosphere.

Stopped here for the night on a cross country trip from MI to TX. The house was beautiful, our room (the Rosen) was comfortable and spacious, and breakfast was delicious! Definitely a great find!

We were very pleased with our stay at the Walnut Street Inn over the weekend. We stayed in the McCann room which was very spacious and has lots of windows. The B&B has lovely Victorian era decorations and the staff is very accommodating. Our room had delicious cookies on the nightstand and there were complimentary sodas in the fridge. May in Missouri means tornadoes are possible, so we were woken up by tornado sirens at 2 AM and the innkeeper showed everyone the way to the basement. He was very patient and kind with sleepy, nervous guests. :) The next morning we were served a yummy breakfast of fluffy banana pancakes, fruit and bacon. We'll be staying again the next time we pass through Springfield and we highly recommend it to others.

Rooms are very well kept and decorated. Comfy and luxurious. Breakfast is wonderful, how can you miss when serving bacon sausage! If you desire to stay at the best B&B in southwest Missouri this is your stop. Location is perfect, close to downtown area, next door neighbor to Missouri State University (go Bears) short drive to bass pro world headquarters and battlefield mall. When in Springfield this is our go to place to stay and it never ever disappoints. Just make the reservation, you know you want to.

I have been staying at Walnut Street Inn Bed and Breakfast for many, many years. It has been my family's favorite "home away from home" on many occasions including business conference to sporting events and festivals. Gary and the staff have a gift of hospitality. The Inn is comfortable and welcoming and the food is always delicious. You can count on Gary and the staff for excellent recommendations on dining, shopping and special events. I have stayed in many of the rooms (if not all) over the years. They are all well appointed and each is unique. There is a room for everyone at Walnut Street.

I love this place. The cost is just a little bit more than some of the area hotel/motels but the experience is more than worth it. After a little confusion over where to park, I found my way to the front door and was warmly welcomed by the staff. I must have arrived at just the right time because the smell of freshly baked goodies was intoxicating. I stayed in the McCann room which felt like a suite. It was spacious and comfortable - filled with unique touches. WiFi service is easy to access and very quick. Surf the Internet surrounded by 19th century furnishings! Breakfast was fantastic. I'd arranged an 8:00 service and was (as usual) running late. I sat down at 8:10 and was immediately presented with a beautiful plate of food. I'm not normally a breakfast person but I made an exception @ The Walnut and was glad I did. minimal complaints: I could have used a full sized ironing board. The shower seemed a little cramped with the old-time narrow bathtub.. That's all. On my next trip to Springfield, I will definitely be staying at The Walnut Street Inn.

Gary and his wife were so welcoming to my wife and I who had accidentally booked the wrong weekend when we arrived. He gave us a room at a discounted price so that we would still be able to stay with them for the weekend. The house was conveniently located close to MSU, downtown, and the ball field. Although we only stayed one night it was so relaxing and refreshing. Breakfast was wonderful and the people we met were so nice and interesting. We will definitely stay here again. It is completely worth the little bit extra! Thank you for such an amazing weekend!
