I really like this place a lot. First off, I love the very 80's-90's atmosphere and decor. It makes me feel nostalgic and cared for in the best possible way while also being contemporary & well kept enough to feel clean and current. Truly good, unobtrusive yet attentive service - which in my experience is becoming very difficult to find these days! Nearly Famous has the BEST sandwich in my opinion - their San Francisco Melt is simply my favorite, thick with cheese and perfect roast beef, red onion, tomato & Thousand Island dressing...not to mention the amazing sourdough toast. I can't rave enough about it. I tried their signature potato salad and was slightly disappointed (although I'm sure others would be thrilled by it) because it had a lot of cheddar & bacon in it. Maybe it should be labeled as "loaded baked potato salad". My husband doesn't eat bacon so he was kind of horrified when I had him try it, not expecting that as a potato salad ingredient. His spinach lasagna was okay, and not a huge portion. The small salad made up for that by being much better than expected and we still loved our visit and will be back again soon. I've had their pecan bars in the past which are well worth picking up at the counter on your way out. So tasty!

Have always loved Nearly Famous!. Never thought the Brentwood location could match the cozy feel feel of the old house, but the people are great, the food is always wonderful and it's still a cozy plce to meet with friends.

I wanted to give 2 1/2 stars. I had an italian sandwich. It was ok, but nothing you couldn't make by getting some whole grain wheat bread and some deli meat from Wal-Mart. It was thus a bit pricey in my opinion for dinner. The kicker for my dislike of this restaurant was the dessert. We paid $4.95 for a piece of home-made strawberry pie that the waitress talked us in to. We got a piece that had been frozen all day and was not thawed at all. When resolving this, we did not get a dessert subbed, and had to pay for the dessert, with our waitress assuring us that it would be just fine when it thawed out...two hours later. She was rather young, and perhaps not as experienced with satisfying passive aggressive customers, but after going to a bunch of places that would take the hit and not charge you for an improperly prepared dessert, it seems not unreasonable to expect that. However, that pie was pretty good...

I've rediscovered Nearly Famous after living away for the past ten years and I had forgotten what a great deli place they are. NF is great for lunch. The atmosphere is homey and comfy, with brick on the walls and original artwork hanging above the tables. The sandwich selection is awesome. I had the Famous Club with chips and a pickle. They always offer two soups, with their mainstay being their Tomato soup. I have to say I am not a fan of their version of tomato soup, it's quite chunky and tart, but I know others love it. My husband loved the quiche, and says the spinach lasagna is just 'eh'. Great lunch place, give em a try!

I've tried this place several times and have always been disappointed. Service is lacking, portions are small and flavor is bland. We once waited over an hour for two pastas. The server forgot to put in our order. We had to get them to go and once we got home to eat them we were very disappointed in the flavor... or lack there of.

The food quality is good. The quantity and presentation are lacking. Ordered the tuna sandwich and it was served on a plate with a pickle and a bag of chips. The kids spaghetti is just that: spaghetti. No garlic bread or fruit to make it that little something extra. It wasn't bad food, just not anything special or memorable.

This place was delicious....so good in fact that I ate there fore lunch AND dinner ! They have daily specials. They have a local beer. They had fresh and tasty food. I mean seriously...what was not to like? The price was resonable and the staff was friendly. Not wait either time. Was seated and ate quickly :)

Good homemade deli options. Gets really busy at lunch. Super friendly staff. I had the tomato soup, potato salad, and turkey sammich. All tasted great, just wished the portions were bigger for the prices they charge.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
