Favorite Chinese place in Springfield. It's a little more expensive than other places (ex. Hong Kong Inn), but the food is much tastier and you get a lot of it.

This is the best Chineese take out in Springfield. My favorite is the egg foo young, which comes with pork fried rice (the egg foo young is either chicken, shrimp, or pork), but I always buy from the lunch menu because the portions on the dinner menu are so large. You can also eat your meal in the restaurant because they have several booths and tables. Overall, just a very pleasant experience (the food always tastes great, just like I remember from New York).

Great Chinese food, especially for the price. This is the only Chinese place my parents will order from. Huge portions for great prices. Great orange chicken. Great lo mein and crab rangoons. Cute atmosphere inside. This is not the same owners as China King on S. National, but pretty much the same menu. Great fresh food.

Visiting family and wanted Chinese Food. Went to Yelp for help - usually never steers me wrong. Found this place with 4.5 stars - impressive! That feeling only lasted until we got home with the food. As someone else mentioned, not a good value. $20 for 2 people and only 1 appetizer? OK - won't break the bank but more than we usually spend for carryout. The food? Well, if quantity is the only concern, then, yes, you do get a lot of food. Whether you'll feel like eating all of it is another matter. We found the food to be extremely bland and lacking in flavor. The egg-roll - even Chinese mustard couldn't save it. The fried rice? Never ordered it before and received tan rice without a single extra ingredient - no eggs, veggies, etc. Pork? Probably frozen slices - tasted like the fridge. Hate to be so negative but this place was a huge let-down. Because of the high ratings from others I'm very confused - did we catch them on an off day?

I had their Singaporean Vegetables with added fried tofu. Lots of veggies, with a typical Singapore sauce that you'd expect from any Chinese take out place. It was pretty delicious, especially compared to my friend's lunch special meal- Springfield cashew chicken. That was basically chicken nuggets with cashews thrown on top. It looked and tasted gross, not at all what you'd think a cashew chicken dish would be. It almost made him puke. Mixed feelings, but overall not a bad pitstop when you've been driving for 5 hours.

Great place all around. However when triple eight's is just as good and a few bucks cheaper, China King is irrelevant.

One fine Sunday I had a serious hankering for bourbon chicken. I would have rather been hit by a car than have to trek to the mall during this glorious holiday season, so I set out to the Chinese joint to me at the time- China King. It sits in a strip mall but the building itself is clean and comfortable. The bourbon chicken was amazing- not too corn syrupey and the crab Rangoon was delightful. Boyfriend got the chicken and broccoli- both of our dishes were huge portions and came with a side of fried rice. We will return!

Pretty tasty- sesame chicken, garlic chicken and crab Rangoon are all great choices and "cravable" items. Portions are generous and the price is right. Have always had it delivered or carried it out so cannot speak for the dine-in experience.

GREAT food! When I first moved here, for the first month, my gf and I frequented this place at least twice a week. The food was very fresh, and it was always very consistent. Every time, I had the General Tso's chicken (large portion) as well as the rice. The GT sauce was SO good that I decided to get a side of it with every order. Most times the chicken had plenty of the sauce already on top of it, but I didn't care. I still dunked it! :-D I would use the side sauce on the white rice as well. We will definitely be frequenting this place more!

I love chinese food... i got the schezwan veggies and they were super good. I was disappointed through because the vegetarian portion of the menu is quite small.

After trying yet another big name, higher cost, award winning Springfield Chinese venue, I am still convinced that for the money the fresh made fare at China King beats them all. I am always amazed at what some consider great Americanized Chinese food in this town.

The chicken is tasty yet I've had better =\ but the real winner here is the crab ragoons!! I refuse to leave Springfield without stopping to grab an order to take home! They are huge, priced to sell, and savory sweet. I come here at least a few times a month, wouldn't go anywhere else for my Chinese fix!

Am a huge Chinese food fan and have visited most all in town. China King is my favorite and you'll see me there at least twice a week. Everything is prepared fresh al la carte and I've yet to be disappointed. While the egg rolls are great, you gotta try their crab Rangoon! (best in town). I get more good, fresh food for my money here and enjoy sharing it with my friends.

Not to be confused with the China King on National. China King on W Republic the food is hot and fresh, the staff is warm and friendly. For only a modest up charge the special make my sesame chicken with stir fry chicken instead of fried chicken. On of my favorite places for Chinese food.

I grew up in the north east and lived here for the past 11 years. Two things were immediately apparent to me-this town doesnt know what pizza is nor do they know what chinese take out is. However, China king is the closest thing to New York style chinese take out you can get. Actually i love it. It is the flavors I have been looking for for many years. Yes the fried rice is supposed to have that color and those wonderful chunks of "red" pork in it. Yes the chicken is to be tender like that or "velveted". Yes the lo-mein does really look like that and does not look like spaghetti! Dumplings you say? Yes steamed dumplings are where its at-not those disgusting posticker things that are popular around here. If you want real chinese-american take-out do yourself a favor and walk away from the chicken and gravy with rice(cashew chicken) and head right to China King.

This is my FAVORITE chinese carry out place. I have eaten here several times and the food is always hot and fresh. Some chinese places will barely cook the broccoli, but here it is steamed perfectly. I've eaten their sweet and sour chicken, rice noodles, lo mein, egg foo young, chicken and broccoli, mongolian beef, and it was all delicious. I don't think you could get a bad meal here. I've saved the best for last. The crab rangoons. I'm careful to tell you how good they were, because this place isn't crowded all the time. I'm afraid if Springfield knew how good these crab rangoons were, I'd have a problem.

Absolutely the best I've ever had in Springfield! I had the orange chicken and my boyfriend had chicken curry. It was fragrant, fresh, hot and don't forget the crab rangoon! It's worth the drive out of your way for good chinese and this place is certainly it!

Awesome food...yelp menu isn't very accurate or up-to-date (IE. They DON'T have a 'spicy chicken' menu item as its listed) and caused confusion during phone order...but when I arrived at the store they re-asked for clarification and made the correct chicken dish on the spot and gave me free sodas for the family :) *plus probably the best crab ran-goons in Springfield! :D

Wow! Delicious and fresh and so, so underrated. God, why doesn't Portland have good, inexpensive "Chinese" food like this?! The meat for the sweet & sour chicken was perfectly cooked: moist, tender white meat with a light, crispy breading; the broccoli in spicy garlic sauce was simply wonderful. The sauce for my broccoli dish was a little sweeter than I like, personally, but my palate is uncommonly geared toward the savory. This food did not taste like some random strip mall spot, which it appears to be at first glance; it was refined, fresh and extremely well executed by the cook in the back in a timely, yet careful manner. If only I could take this place back home with me...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
