I love to order take out, they always make it fresh. If you try the buffet, timing is essential. Mostly excellent, but they do have their days.. I have been coming here for years, and it holds lots of memories. Mostly good, and that is saying something...

I waffled a bit on giving China Buffet 1 vs. 2 stars. I'm feeling generous though, so let's stick with this. China Buffet seemed like your run of the mill Chinese Buffet. My friends and I had tried eating at the Bulgogi House, but found out that they were (ironically enough) out of Bulgogi. We ended up at the China Buffet because it seemed like a good logical progression. I should have questioned this choice in eatery when I walked inside and found no one else eating there. On a Saturday night. There was no music playing. The posters on the wall were very generic, though to be nitpicky, one was Japanese in origin. But I digress. For a dinner buffet, it was very reasonably priced ($9, with water). After paying, we were given cups and told to grab drinks from the fountain and to sit wherever we wanted. This was a new experience for me when eating at a Chinese Buffet. I was starting to see a general pattern for this restaurant. I picked up some run of the mill items, such as sweet and sour chicken, chicken and broccoli, etc. After digging in, I found most of the food to be lukewarm. I understand that lunchtime is the optimal time to get hot and fresh Chinese food, but this was a bit much. The taste itself was fairly average, and the selection was fair. Nothing I had tasted out of the ordinary. Though the restaurant was deserted, we were basically ignored. The plates stacked up, and were only removed from the table when we were leaving. In summation? This restaurant feels as if those who run it have settled for mediocrity. The decor is dated, service was practically non existent, food was just average, etc. Being right outside of a major military base, China Buffet could be a game changer in the St. Roberts community. They just have to want it.

If I could give this place no stars I would. This is my first time ordering here and will never order again. I will also advise everyone who is thinking about getting food from here to think again. Ordered my food and it took an hour and 45 min to get to my house. When the driver got here the driver was really nice. She told me that it shouldn't have taken that long to get here. She also said to call in and ask for something since it took so long they will give a complimentary item. I took the order inside opened it up and it was even missing an order of orange chicken. So I called in and told them they messed up on my order and she said I would have to pay for the item again. I'm over this company and will never get food from here again It's garbage.

Food is pretty decent for the area, and reasonably priced. The restaurant needs some updating, but the food is good enough that I would return.

Just ate here...place is dumpy and doesn't look the cleanest. Food tastes okay BUT... Got up and left when I watched a worker pick her nose, not wash her hands, and then go right to the buffet and stir food. Gross...

Egg rolls drip of grease, but egg drop soup is good. Chicken fried rice seems undercooked.

Driving by... My first thought was this place had food poisoning written all over it. Never dined in. But have had carry out a few times and it has always been great. Fast delivery if you order. ($3 charge) best Chinese food in the area.

This place is so unbelievable. The delivery man has taken over two hour total to deliver my food after I've paid mad cash for it. On top of that my order wasn't correct. I'm cool on this place. I'll rather go to chop sticks if I ever have a taste for Chinese.

Ordered carry out rather than dine in - I find buffets can be a little scary germ-wise (dut to the patrons, not the restaurant) and unless the turnover is high, the food tends to dry out/get stale. And the strip mall it is in looks a little run down, but you don't know until you try. When I ordered, they said it would be ready in 15 minutes and their estimate was accurate. When I walked in, I have to say there isn't much in the way of atmosphere - sort of like a well lit cafeteria. Certainly nothing fancy, but I since I wasn't dining in, I wasn't too concerned about the ambiance. Anyway, ordered several things for carry out. The egg rolls were quite tasty, nice and crispy, though she referred to them as shrimp rolls and there was shrimp in them - not sure if that was an error - but I like shrimp so it was a bonus! (Just a head's up if you have seafood allergies) The Mongolian Beef and the Chicken with Broccoli were also both good - plenty of meat to vegetable ratio. Got the pint size in both and both came with white rice. The Moo Shu Pork was also good. Waited too long to open the rice pancakes though so they were very difficult to pull apart. There are only 4 included, so be sure to order extras unless you like it with rice - this dish can only be ordered in the quart size. One small container of plum sauce, so recommend ordering an extra of that too. The Ma Po Bean Curd (tofu) was good and the right amount of spicy - I don't eat tofu myself, but my co-diner gave it a good review. Also served with white rice. We also ordered egg drop soup and it vanished pretty quick so it also gets a thumbs up. Served with the crispy wonton noodles. We were provided plastic forks and spoons, some soy sauce and duck sauce packets (no hot mustard packets!), and napkins. Which was good because one of the way the items were stacked, one of the bottom trays of food squashed a bit and leaked all over the bottom of the box and the tray and the surrounding boxes. I've only been here once, but plan to go back, most likely for take out.

First impression was not good at all! As soon as I walked in, one of the workers was sleeping with her head down on one of the tables. We walked right past her with no greeting. I continued to pay to be seated thinking at least the food might be good even if the service wasn't, oh how terribly wrong I was:( living in wa and ca for many years I have been spoiled with an abundance of yummy asian foods including buffets. This place had rice just sitting in a warmer uncovered and every Asian knows your supposed have it in a rice cooker or at least covered so it doesn't dry out. All the fried food was stale and hard. The stir fried foods were also left out too long and not warm enough. Don't even get me started on the fruits Gross! The only thing I could stomach was the soup. No wonder there were only two people in there at dinner time. This place is a disgrace to Asian food!

From the outside, I have to agree, it looks very sketchy. We came for the lunch buffet. I like my sweet and sour chicken. I had to pretty much assemble it myself. picking the onions and green peppers from the beef entree and the pineapples from the dessert bar, and then the chicken fingers, of course. They did have the sauce. Tasted good. heating lamps may have been set a little to high. Some food looked dried out even though lunch just started. Wasn't the best Chinese buffet I've been too, but not the worst either. :-)

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
