Family wedding 5 p.m. Saturday. What an incredible event. The wedding ceremony was, of course, beautiful. The sound system worked very well for hearing the ceremony. All the participants were so happy for this special day. After the ceremony, there was a cocktail period. There were at least 3 bars, two servers at the busiest bar, so there was never a big line for beverages. Passed hors d'oeuvres were tasty bites. I had a spanakopita and a crostini with goat cheese and Kalamata olive. Excellent! Not too many folks were out on the roof, as it was incredibly windy and quite chilly. The receiving line took us into the dining room for a fabulous dinner: Tomato and Avocado Salad -- With fresh Mozzarella, EVOO and basil vinaigrette Peppered Petite Filet and Seared Halibut -- With a Chardonnay Leek sauce, wild mushroom risotto and broccolini The food was absolutely tremendous. No table was served until all the servers had surrounded the table, so every diner at a table got their food at the exact same time. Flawless execution, with highly attentive service to removing used plates and utensils. We had a vegan and a vegetarian at our table, and they were accommodated rapidly and happily. They had to know that was coming, because the dishes were at-the-ready. The yummy wedding cake was almond cake with buttercream frosting. A plate of Chase signature chocolates was passed around the table. After dinner, the Starlight Coffee Bar was available: coffee, tea, shaved chocolate, cinnamon whipped cream, candied citrus zest, chocolate-dipped strawberries and biscotti, along with Baileys, Frangelico, Sambuca and Kahlua. The decaf was wonderful. There was lots of dancing to a fabulous band. Great dancing music!! And a photo booth, but it wasn't a booth. They had a backdrop up. We had a siblings, spouses and cousins photo taken, and there were at least 20 people in that picture. What fun!! Lots of folks were getting memory photos taken. And a little later, a groom's favorite late-night snack was brought in: Imo's pizza. Wonderful!! All around a flawless evening to remember with great company, a lovely ceremony, fabulous food and impeccable service. This was AN EVENT!!
