Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I called in to order food/drinks to go, after I was done ordering I was told my order would be ready in 15-20 mins. HOWEVER, when I arrived 35 mins later, my order wasn't ready! I ordered 4 drinks and 2 orders of the crispy chicken. I came, paid for my order, BUT had to wait another 10 mins for my drinks to be made. My crispy chicken was already done but they didn't keep it warm. The place was not packed, there was no line at all. This was the 2nd time I did the call in order. I figured I'd give them another chance since the first time i called in, they were very busy, but then again shouldn't your order be ready at the time they specify???! I even gave them an extra 15 mins and my order was not ready!! What a shame! What's the point in calling in and ordering ahead of time??! Next time I'll just go he the Olive/Fee Fee location, even though it's an extra 10-15 drive!

Maybe I just had a bad order, but it was one of the worst green bean (mung bean) slush I ever had. What I had wasn't a slush, it was a really watery and tasted like expired skim milk. In addition to the bad drink that I had, the cashier made me feel really uncomfortable. While I was ordering my drink, the male cashier looked at my camera and asked me how much does my camera cost. After I told him how much my camera costed, he suddenly asked me whether I would like to work here in exchange for my camera. It was probably a bad joke, but I didn't appreciate his sense of humor. I can't say other drinks are bad, but just don't order green bean (mung bean) slush.

Have loved this place for a long long time.....at least 15 years. Josephine knows her stuff! Boba is fresh, cooked perfectly. Get the wonton soup and enjoy the view as college kids, tourists and neighborhood regulars stop in. Sometimes not so tidy and use the restroom elsewhere. But great, cheap food that makes the slow wait ok

I love Bubble tea. I remember when it was the only one in st louis. I used to go here 2 times a week after i went to the gym. The Taro was and still remains my favorite. I had moved out of St Louis and back to by Chicago for about a year. No matter where i went, no one made bubble tea like them.
(3)Maurice B.
This place STAYS BUSY! I love their Taro Slush. Not a big Boba fan but I love their service, friendly atmosphere. They remember you like after 3 visits! They make you feel like you belong there.
(5)Katie N.
Although I have never actually eaten anything here the tea is absolutely amazing! The boba tastes great! It's such a small little place to just run in and get yourself tea and walk around and shop!
(5)Anthony S.
You can't go wrong with St. Louis Bubble Tea. Whatever it is you get you usually leave happy. I can't say I've had these kinds of drinks anywhere else but the few I like I do enjoy.
(4)Christina R.
I get the mango snow everytime I come, it's my favorite thing. I've seen some reviews that suggest ordering ahead when you want food and I definitely agree. My friend ordered chicken wings and they took quite a while, she said they were really good though so they might be worth the wait.
(3)Michael Y.
AC! AC! AC! AC! That's right, it's 90+ degree outside and this place has no AC. But, they got TONS of cold drinks. Anyways, I ordered the spicy crispy chicken. Yes, it's spicy! Yes, it's crispy! WAIT! chicken in thin slices?! Not chunks?! To me, I felt that I got a bunch of spicy chicken crumbs. I wouldn't recommend it but... That's the way the CHICKEN CRUMBLES
(2)David N.
This is one of the few places in St. Louis that offer boba drinks. I really wish I could rate them high but unfortortunatley I cannot. Their mediocre drinks and hard boba really are a turn off for me. It is a hit or miss when it comes this place. There is really not a consistency in the quality of their drinks or their boba. They offer a wide variety of drinks to choose from but it is all made from powder substitute. You can really taste the difference. A good drink is made from fresh tea and fresh boba, and this place sure knows how to fail in both areas. I only go here when I have to, if not, I'm opting for home made tea. So go if you like to try something different, but don't expect a wow factor to come with the drink.
(2)Amber K.
Was worried about my boba fix when I moved here from California. There was a place In central west end, but it became a bar and then I found this place! I've tried most of the flavors and they're all pretty good! I love taro, green tea, jasmine tea and passion fruit. Their boba is good as is the drink. I've never eaten here, but it always smells delish and they seem to be crowded. Don't know what I'd do without this place!!!
(5)Heather F.
The building was packed when we got here, always a good sign. We waited a few minutes in line and a few minutes longer for our drinks, but it was well worth it. I love boba and it had been a long time for me. The asian lady who took our order spoke very bad English, another very good sign to me in an eating establishment. The drinks were great, can't wait to go back. I got the iced rose flavored black tea and my boyfriend got the hot almond milk tea, both with boba.
(4)Rebecca K.
Absolutely love this place ever since it opened! I love their original boba milk tea! On some days I might get slushes or smoothies depending on my mood, but usually i stick to the teas. Their food is also super duper delicious! Their beef stew noodle, wonton noodle, porkchops, and cannot forget their dumplings are my favorite! The staff are super friendly, and the family who owns it are awesome people!
(5)Karmon H.
Delicious. My favorite is passionfruit black tea. It's not on the menu. The chicken wings are delicious and super hot!! I don't mind waiting a bit longer for super Fresh and hot food. Only bad thing is the place is so small it's temperature is very dependent on the outside temp.
(5)Richa T.
The drinks here are delicious and there is a huge variety so you will definitely find something you like. I would recommend getting a hot tea (any of the buba teas can be heated up) during the winter, or a fruit snow for the summer. My favorites are the mango slush and the Thai iced tea. Although I do enjoy the drinks here, the last time I went, I did not care for a sign they had up on the counter. It essentially claimed all sales were final, they would not re-make drinks, or do exchanges if you were not happy with yours. So, heads up if you go there, double check to make sure you like what you order.
(3)Alex L.
Great bubble tea. Consistent food. Plenty of offerings. It's always interesting eating here. Do I go American Chinese or Traditional Chinese? It doesn't matter, because they prepare everything very well... whether it be the hot braised chicken or the soy sauce chicken. The beef stew noodle is very good, one of the best I've had in St Louis and should be tried at least once by anyone. I would recommend trying the honey milk tea with boba. Different from the traditional bubble tea, and since I've tried it, haven't gone back to the sugar/syrup flavored one. Also, nothing hits the spot like a hot ginger milk tea on a cold February day - be ready for the kick though...
(3)Qixiang Y.
Cooking is too slow. I wait a simple fired rice for 40 minutes while no one is waiting ahead of me.
(2)Aaron K.
My wife and I always have to stop here if we are on the Loop. She gets Jasmine Milk Tea and I get the Honeydew Milk Tea (both with extra Bobas!) They Mango snow is awesome in the Summer months. I would have given 5 stars but they changed the size of their Bobas last year. They used to fill up the big straws now they are a little smaller. You get the same amount but the texture is a little different. I understand they did this because people said they like the smaller bobas, just wish they offered a choice between the two. Anyways, besides that very minor issue, always been pleased with food, drinks and service.
(4)Marilynn P.
It's the best bubble tea place that I have been to in St. Louis. I really enjoy their "Snow" drink options. But if you aren't into the smoothie consistency of their Snow drinks, don't worry because they have several different types of drinks. Their menu is very extensive. I do agree with other yelpers... their drinks are a tad too sweet. But I generally only go there when I have a sweet tooth and want that sugary rush.. so it isn't a big deal for me. I've only had food from here once, and thought it was pretty good. But my favorite thing to order are their drinks. If you live in stl and want to have bubble tea... this is your spot.
(4)Nolan Z.
St. Louis Bubble Tea has decent bubble tea for the Midwest. It's inevitable to compare it to places with "better" bubble tea like Chicago or California, but for the Midwest, it's on the better side. I personally would not go here for the food. It's not to say that the food is terrible or anything, but it's sort of like going to a burger joint for ice cream, where you could get better food for a similar price. The drinks tend to be on the sugary side, but that shouldn't deter you. The seating inside isn't the best, but that shouldn't be a quality that forces your decision one way or another. As previous reviews have mentioned, though, it does get rather warm inside.
(4)Anna T.
Ordering anything here as a newbie is pretty confusing, but it's efficient if you know what you want! They're very nice and the bubble tea is very good. It's a crowded place, so waiting in line is a disaster, but the bubble tea is all worth it. Although I would recommend picking up food to go, it's really loud.
(4)Sonny S.
In the Midwest, I feel like it's so hard to find a place that sells really good bubble tea. I've had bubble tea everywhere and this place really delivers! You will not be disappointed. It's located in the loop and is very popular with students as well as locals. St. Louis Bubble Tea is always bustling with people when I come. They not only sell drinks, but also a variety of hot dishes as well. Here's what I love: -egg pudding milk tea (sounds weird I know, but it is so delicious. the egg pudding is similar to a flan but with a firmer texture and that with the sweet milk tea is the perfect combination) -blueberry snow (similar to a slush - very good and smooth) -classic bubble milk tea -fried pork chop over rice (the fried pork chop is so crispy and comes with tea egg and bok choy) Love coming here, getting a drink and chilling around the loop with friends. Highly recommend this place!
(4)Jackie K.
I'm obsessed with this place, seriously I think I might be addicted. I've been here probably over 50 times. It reminds me of getting a Philly Cheesesteak in Philadelphia, in the way that they do get annoyed if you don't know what you want, or if you're new and standing there like "Uhh.. Er.." So here I'll help you - GET STRAWBERRY SNOW! It's like a strawberry smoothie, if you're in the mood for that. It's amazing every time and you'll never be disappointed. Get boba, because c'mon you're boring if you don't. It's part of the Bubble Tea experience. But sometimes the boba gets frozen in the frozen drinks, and they can't fit through the straws and yeah... First world problems. So second choice, if you really want to savor those bobas, get any kind of milk tea. Strawberry, Coffee, Chocolate, ANYTHING! With boba :) And I feel bad for saying this, but if you're nervous about going here because you really wanna try it, but don't wanna deal with the impatient staff... go to the Olive location. Same stuff, same menu, but a much sweeter staff. OH AND THE FOOD IS AMAZING TOO! It goes perrrrfect with the teas. Okay seriously I'm done.
(5)Elaine S.
Solid bubble tea and food! Originally from NYC, I've been spoiled by tons of a plethora of pretty decent Taiwanese bubble tea / snack shops. I thank my lucky stars for having found St. Louis Bubble Tea here in STL though! While it is definitely not the best milk/bubble tea I've ever had, it is veryyyyyyyyy solid for St. Louis. I stick with the original, almond, taro, and green milk teas, with boba - I haven't tried the other flavors and will never intend to. They've all been solid every time. Their boba is also very good with great consistency. I've tried my milk tea with pudding a few times and that stuff is also addictive. I'm also a huge fan of their food - their pork chop on rice is my go-to, and they serve it with a salted egg and veggies. Very authentic and yummy. Keep doing what you're doing, because I will keep coming back!
(4)Christina M.
Great bubble teas but way too sugary! I couldn't make it a quarter way through the snow drink because of the sugar content. Perfect location though and always seems to be packed (even in winter months).
(3)Betty I.
Good Chinese fast food ! But not a great sit down place ! And I have to admit that their bathroom isn't well maintain !
(3)Roger L.
One of my favorite places. The Black Tea with Green Apple and Boba is my favorite.
(5)Annie K.
Staff is always very friendly and smiling. Ask for a sample, they have little cups of them. Both locations are great but as for ambiance, I prefer the Loop. The food is pretty decent and you get quite a bit. Priced quite fairly. Can be loud when a crowd is in there during peak times and the seating is rather limited.
(5)Lynn S.
I happened to be at the Galleria and tried a drink at STL Bubble Tea there that was awesome. When I saw this place in UCity a week or two later I was psyched. Went in and since it was lunch time I decided to try the crispy chicken which was pretty good. A little too spicy for me but I still enjoyed it.I also got a drink which was OK. The problem I had here was it was hot as hell the day I was in and the poor kid behind the counter was sweating up a storm. I asked if the AC was broke and he told me they don't even have AC! The lunch itself was so uncomfortable because it was so damn hot how could anyone enjoy it. I ended up packing up and eating it on the street.
(3)Mykia O.
Worked right next to this place for almost a year not knowing that they served the most delicious Chinese food ever. The portions are large and very inexpensive for how much and how good it is.
(5)Greg S.
I really like this place. Bubble tea is fun and refreshing, especially on warmer days. You can get your bubble tea with tapioca balls, which I know some people do not like. If you're one of these people then try substituting in lychee jelly. The taro tea is my favorite drink (it's purple for crying out loud) and chicken lo mein is my favorite dish (although it can be slow to prepare). This is an excellent place to go on a date, take your kids, or reward yourself for doing something awesome or for no good reason at all. Also, look out for the fabled Super Smash Bros tournament that they will be hosting soon, supposedly there will be awesome hand carved trophies for the winners.
(4)Olivia G.
SO MANY OPTIONS!! Large selection of bubble tea, but make sure you take cash because that is the only payment they will accept.
(3)Mary S.
Although their drinks taste pretty good and are generally consistent, I had to wait an unacceptable amount of time for my orders to be prepared, so I give it three stars.
(3)Allan C.
I've been travelling a lot lately and the fact that St. Louis lacks a Bubble Tea place that, well, uses real tea sort of saddens me. Anyway, I still get my bubble tea from STL Bubble Tea and it's consistently been able to best any upstart is impressive. Their food is really good too, and I think it's a bit too overlooked by a lot of people. Try the Singapore noodles with sha cha sauce... and the beef stir fry noodles... and the beef noodle soup... whatever just go. Oh and get the crispy chicken. That stuff is crack.
(4)Amrita R.
For those of you who have never tasted bubble tea or have no idea what it is, here's a fun infographic on its origins (Boba does not refer to the tapioca!) blogs.ocweekly.com/stick… I went here all ready to tell them how sweet I wanted my tea when they asked, but they never asked! I said it anyway at the end, JUST IN CASE. After reading all the reviews and talking to friends who had been, the bubble tea here was far better than I expected. Especially from a place that didn't have Asians making my bubble tea, which is a first for me! Where I'm from in Atlanta, the bubble tea places are pretty authentic... as in very-old-Chinese-couple-who-speak-no-English-but-Âmake-damn-good-bubble-tea-with-grass-jelly-and-Âegg-nog-pudding-as-add-ins-kinda authentic... This place had a pretty decent selection. I usually get my black milk tea standard (usually with coffee or grass jelly but that wasn't an option here), and since I've been on a thai tea kick, I thought I'd try it here. It was delicious! My bf tried the taro milk tea, since that's his standard, and he thought it was better than anything he's tried before. We both concluded it was more taro-y than other places... Other places water it down with milk and sugar but we could actually taste the vegetable pretty well. I preferred the thai iced tea and he preferred the taro. The bubbles were also really well-made and the perfect consistency (something I was really worried about after talking to friends). I'm eager to come back and try more drinks, but I'm still weary of potential bad bubble days... there's only one way to find out! For now, this place is going to be my go-to for my boba tea fix, which comes on fast and often in the summa time.
(5)Elizabeth M.
I'm giving Bubble Tea 4 starts because of their food, which I have not enjoyed. If it was just for the drinks, definitely a 5! One of my friends and I are trying to drink all 150+ drinks on their menu, that's how much we like thier tea! For the longest time I was weirded out by the pudding teas, but a friend convinced me to get one, and I'm glad I did! I really like the 4 flavor one. I think the only flavors I haven't liked so far have been Taro Milk Tea and Watermelon Snow (which was too fake tasting for my liking, but does taste good with other flavors).
(4)Pablo P.
I wasn't impressed with this place. It took 15 minutes to make a strawberry bananna boba smoothie. Meanwhile it was 90 degrees the store, which I'm sure the small Asian woman cooking in the back appreciated. I was confused because there was a large sign stating they take cash only, yet there was a credit card machine on the counter.
(2)Elle P.
This is a cute little place in the beginning of the loop. First off, it's in the loop - this means it is hipster central. Second off, this place is about as Asian as Asian gets. haha. Everytime I go in there I'm like the only non-Asian person! It's kinda funny :) but I'm with an Asian friend so it's all good. They have a huge selection of drinks hot and cold. I have no idea what most of them are or the different types so I rely on my Asian friend to help me pick out a drink cuz otherwise I have no idea what anything is! I love the clear fun little decorated cups with the clear plastic lid that they attach with heat to the cup and you stab it with a fatty straw that lets the boba (if you choose to get any) come through. Parking is in the rear, so if you go to the corner of the street and see Cicero's turn and park in the lot behind and walk around to the front and you'll easily find BBT! :) They do have food but I've never had any, so I cannot really comment on that, though it does look good and usually there is a ton of people chowing down on it so I'm assuming it's at least decent!
(4)Alice G.
If you are coming here for drinks you might want to check your blood sugar levels first. Their drinks are overly sweet. Basically borderline tooth decay/rotting sweet. If you're into that go right ahead. I ordered their egg pudding milk tea or egg pudding milk ginger tea, and each time I feel like I need to go to the dentist to have him check to see that my teeth haven't fallen out. I St Louis bubble tea redeems themselves in terms of food though. Their crispy chicken is flavorful and crunchy, but it's small slices and pieces, not they big kind you can get at Quickly back in California. It's an interesting twist to an Asian staple back at home. To me their crispy chicken isn't that spicy, but to others I've shared with they described it as fiery. Depends on your taste buds. The Asian beef noodle stew is pretty good here, but they seem to put a lot of salt in it since after I'm done eating it I'm usually clamoring for a glass of water. I go back here mainly for the Asian beef noodle stew or crispy chicken. I hold off on their drinks until finals week so I can get that extra pep to keep on studying late into the night.
(3)Tian Q.
Taro snow with milk puddings is F-ING AMAZING. I didn't give a sh*t about anything else after I got my yumilicious drink in hand. I was in my little heaven even after a trip to the sketchiest gas station convenient store (must be the loop hobos headquarters) nearby, and after I inhaled a crapload of second hand smoke on my way back thanks to my smoker friends who had to walk in front of me. TARO SNOW. I WANT AGAIN. NOW.
(5)Thao Tracey N.
I went here twice for their green tea raspberry tea and a second time for their hot almond milk tea. The service was nice and quick. I enjoyed my raspberry drink since it was brightly flavored and great as a post-meal refreshment. 'The second time when I got my hot almond drink, my drink was lukewarm! I couldn't take any more than 2 sips and had to reheat it at home. Another complaint I have is that their actual boba is not sweetly flavored as I am used to at other places. If it weren't for these two complaints, this place would have earned 4 stars otherwise! Regardless, I'm not totally discouraged from going here. Because of their vast selection, I'm curious to try their avocado slush and pudding milk tea!
(3)Michael B.
Great food ( the tea is amazing ) the service is good and it's a great value.
(5)Simone C.
I'm giving this place 4 stars because it was hot in there and took a long time to get our drinks. I told the man at the register that it was my 1st time there & he gave me a sample of one of their most popular items (which was one of the bubble teas & I didn't like it). I ended up getting a mango slush & it was amazing! Just like putting a straw into a cold, sweet mango. But if we wanted to stay there to enjoy our drinks, we couldn't have because it was 99 degrees outside & all they had was one fan on; no air conditioning.
(4)Victor L.
This place makes bubble tea wonderfully! They use real fruit and have dozens of combinations to satisfy all taste buds. The boba is cooked properly with just enough chew. 5/5 for the bubble tea and smoothies. The food at this place is only mediocre. Most of it is generic sauce on some meat. There are the occasional dishes that are more inventive/authentic. My favorite is a the dish I've ordered 18/20 times I've been here called Beef Stir-fry (Beef Chow Fun). They make it better than my mother makes it at home which is a pretty great accomplishment. Basically it is thick cuts of well cooked beef stir fried with thick noodles in a savory, salty sauce. Add some sriracha to it and you've got yourself a genuine meal.
(3)Vik S.
This is for my fellow ginger lovers out there (surely I can't be the only one!). You must try the Ginger Milk Tea. Sweet and delicious with a kick. I ordered it cold and I think this is the best way. It is hard to put down. And it was prepared super quickly. They were out of boba when I ordered (Sunday night around 9:30ish) . I can only imagine how much more awesomer it would have been with boba. Yes, I know that's bad grammar, but I don't care. At $3.50 it ain't cheap, so savor every delicious gingery drop. It will disappear quickly. Too quickly. I've also ordered the chicken and broccoli dish here. It wasn't anything special but the portion was good for the price.
(4)Hao X.
I've been going to this place approximately once a week for more than a year now. It's a great bubble tea place if you like the standard chinese bubble tea options: milk tea, flavored tea, slush, and snow. They don't have really fancy teas like teavana, but I hope that's not what you're looking for anyway. The people are friendly, the bubbles are usually a fairly decent texture, and the bubble tea isn't too expensive. If you're picky about bubbles, the guys there are really nice about letting you try one to see if the texture is good. My friends and I also sometimes get food there. Their food is cheap and rather tasty. I like their fully chinese menu but their fried chicken type things are good to satisfy a grease craving too. I think my favorite thing is how the people are willing to make things not technically on the menu. In each category, there are flavors but not all flavors show up on the menu in every category. My favorite drink from back home in Dallas is a vanilla snow. I asked for one on a whim once and they made it for me beautifully. Highly recommended tea orders: almond milk tea, jasmine milk tea, taro milk tea, vanilla snow, strawberry-mango slush (blended, not layered).
(4)Yang S.
Well just a place to go when i miss bubble mikl tea in my home country. The milk tea is just average among all the milk teas i have tasted, but its a good choice if you just want one. At least the place is near my campus.
(3)Jonathan J.
I started going to Bubble Tea last year, and have not been able to stop since. Their Bobo is authentic, but their actual food is quite underrated. Large portions, fast service, and friendly and cozy interior. Definitely one of my favorite spots on the Loop and in STL.
(4)Nigel H.
So good, I got two teas! The taro milk tea with boba was VERY good! Not too sweet, it was just right. The four stars though, are because I ordered the pork chop with rice, and it was nasty. I guess I didn't realize it was fried, but it was just not good. On my way out I got a lavender tea with boba, and it was pretty good, just INCREDIBLY sweet. I'm sure the other ones were good because the taro was awesome, just steer clear of the fried pork chop.
(4)Derek S.
This bubble tea joint caught my eye. Thus, I made the trek to give this place a try. ...to my surprise, the Chinese owner hired locals to serve its patrons... The Milk Tea w/ Pearls was surprisingly good although it was super creamy...a little too creamy... The pearls were of great consistency and the drink set me back $3.
(3)Amanda S.
I was obsessed with bubble tea when I lived in Washington state and was very excited when I moved here and went to the loop and stumbled upon it here. It's a nice little place and the drinks are great.
(5)Cherie O.
It was your usual hot, sweltering, humid day in St. Louis. The brother and I had had brunch and had checked out the CWE Taste and Art Fair...which wasn't really your high-level gastronomical experience. The art was okay, but missing that oomph that other fairs have. My brother started lagging, and I started thinking of dehydration. We walked past Banh Mi Boba, and I perked up, practically ready to drag my brother inside. But alas, Banh Mi Boba doesn't open until 5 PM. What's up with that? My brother suggested St. Louis Bubble Tea...I was all for it. It turned out to be the highlight of my day. Drinks are usually $2.50-$3.00 with boba or lychee jelly 30 cents extra. This place gets super star points for even offering lychee jelly. The drink list is extensive; I went with my usual staple, almond milk tea with boba...and I was not disappointed. I downed that drink down like an alcoholic craving Jack...and gave serious thought to turning the car around and getting two more to go. My brother got the starfruit green tea with lychee jelly...it was definitely different, but a good kind of different. It's nice to know that I have more boba options though...and would probably go back and try the food there sometime. And although the place apparently does not use fresh fruit, it is just as good as Joy Yee's in Chicago. And I think better than Banh Mi in CWE.
(4)Katie M.
The almond milk bubble tea made me physically ill. I can't speak for the other flavors, but by all means, avoid the almond milk!
(2)Alisa K.
I'm not really a big bubble tea person so i avoid tapoica like the plague. I did enjoy the strawberry snow, which is basically a smoothie. It is fairly decent though a bit artificial tasting. Otherwise, they have a ton of flavors and are pretty prompt. Besides bubble tea, they also have some noodle dishes and savory/sweet rolls.
(3)Betty L.
I've lived in STL for over 10 years and this was one of the place that reminded me of home (California & Taiwan). I know STL is horrible in terms of yelping, so I figure I'll try and bring up the number of reviews to my favorite places. If you haven't figure it out, this is NOT one of those places that uses fresh fruit, at least not most of the time. If you are looking for those... keep driving. Chicago Chinatown has a few that's more your style. Drinks: The variety of flavors are great. try something different please. (to the owners... I was sad to find out on Monday that you're discontinuing plum. That's one of my favorites. Now I really have to drive to Chicago to get my fix). Slush or flavor tea... it's all good. Warning: your boba will freeze in the slush after a while but if you wait for it to thaw, it'll be just as good as before. Foods: the crispy chicken (#1 on menu) reminds me of road side stands in Taiwan. a little basil and more flavor powder and I'll be in Heaven. I've also had the beef noodles... not the best ever, a bit heavy on the soy sauce. Service: well, in the past ten years, I've noticed that they've gone from hiring Chinese guys to African American guys. Though they're friendly and helpful, but if you happen to be behind a WU group on a Friday/Sat night... you're out of luck. You're lucky if there's a place to stand while you wait for 20 minutes. On Monday, the place was pretty empty when I got there. 2 minute wait.... granted, they did forget the lychee jelly in my friend's order and the remade the drink.

I have had a lot of boba in my life time. In which almost all cases have been in some part of california, practically Taiwan (where this type of drink was invented) . Im still pretty new to st. louis, and when I heard that a boba place was close by, I jumped at the opportunity. To be fair my bubble tea/boba standards are probably higher than your average joe, but this place is pretty average. I ordered a jasmine milk tea, a pretty standard drink. It was way too sweet, and the tapioca was really hard. But hey, they must be doing something right, because the store is crowded and everyone else seems satisfied, supply and demand at it's best. I will probably come back though, maybe it was just a bad day.

Best Bubble Tea in STL...great location, but the place could use a makeover. Some nice relaxing couches and better furniture. I've been to a couple of bubble tea places recently in Chi town and while the tea was comparable, the atmosphere blows this place out of the water. Bubble tea here is great, just needs a little makeover.

(Harps playing in background while angels sing). I love bubble tea, and this is the best place to get it. (The others are the place downtown, and CWE bahn mi place with the identity crisis). Not only is every single type of tea I've had here awesome, the food is great too. The vermicilli noddle dish and hot braised chicken are my favs. The food is made fresh, and when you're done, there's plenty of ways to walk (some) of the calories off.

This is one of the very few places in St. Louis to get bubble tea. + : They have a billion options, from milk teas to slushies and shakes. I always get some kind of milk tea with no boba and i'm usually satisfied (I especially love taro) - : There is no AC, so it's very stuffy on hot days and typically crowded. Also, they frequently run out of flavors.

I left for school in California during summer 2012... and the boba there is AMAZING. When I came back to St. Louis a few months ago and tried the red bean bubble tea at this place, I was SO disappointed. In addition to the person making my drink hot instead of cold as I originally requested (and waiting almost 15 minutes for my wrong order to be prepared), the drink was disgusting. It was powdery, gritty, and tasted fake. I'll give this place a try again when I return to St. Louis this summer just in case this was an extra bad experience and a particularly bad flavor/bad preparation. Either way, based on this experience, I would NOT recommend the red bean milk tea.

This is a great place to feel warm in the winter! The beef and broccoli is just so good, and everything is very reasonably priced. For some reason, however, I am always the last person in my group to get my food, and by last I mean 15 min after everybody else has theirs. That can be frustrating... but I still go back haha

Writing this review makes me crave another bubble tea from here. I LOVE, LOVE bubble tea, and this place does a pretty damn good job. I got the chai with bubble tea, which was the best choice I've made in a while. Mmmmm! It combined two of my favorite things (chai and boba), and combined them well at that! Prices are good, menu is very extensive, and the staff was extremely nice. Once star off for the really questionable bathroom. You have to ask for the key to unlock the bathroom, which doesn't make any sense to me...no one in their right mind would go in there if they didn't have a bathroom emergency. When I saw the key (complete with disgusting "key chain") and bathroom, I had the same feeling that I get when I'm on a road trip, have to go to the bathroom, finally find a gas station, and then hear that the bathroom is around back and outside and I have to use the key to unlock it.

My bubble tea experiences are limited; I'd only had it a couple times before coming here. Ordered one of the milk teas, mocha I think, with boba of course. It was pretty delicious, far as I was concerned. The place was packed, and there were several people working at an efficient pace to handle the customers. No fancy digs or anything going on here, however. Guess you have to find more traditional teas at a cafe for somewhere a bit cozier.
(3)Madison N.
Peach snow with boba is heaven. If you don't like very sweet things, you can do what I do and ask for them to use half of the flavoring. That way it is more like an icee!
(5)Son V.
This is the only place that serves bubble tea in st. louis. They make their drink way too sweet so I always order half sweet, which is a lot better. But it is not consistent. Sometimes the drink is too plain and sometimes it is still too sweet. I like this place but it is not the best bubble tea I have had in my life, but since it is the only good bubble tea place in STL, I give it 4 stars. About the food, don't order crispy chicken. You can't see or feel any chicken in there. It's only fried batter and skin. I think they put a lot of MSG in the chicken though. Their crab rangoon is really good. It is not too sweet or too salty. It is just right. I would recommend that.
(4)Tuan L.
I love St. Louis Bubble Tea. I was there for the grand opening. They have good Chinese food and great drinks. The people there are friendly and helpful answering your question about "boba". The owners are really nice people and you can tell they care bout there customers. I recommend boba milk tea cold or mango snow with the boba :)
(5)Kat V.
My first couple of times here, I didn't like the bubble tea. Then, when I came back from Thailand I was excited that they had green tea with boba. They ask you how sweet do you want it, which is great in my book. The tea tasted wonderful! Perfect amount of sweetness, but the boba was a bit too chewy for my taste. It wasn't like I had at Mr. Shake in Bangkok. They didn't have red tea with boba! Oh the horror! For now, this will suffice. I'm going to have to try the snow here sometime in the near future. They need to have more selection of teas without milk & with boba.
(3)Sheryl K.
I want to like this place, I really do. It has that colorful, upbeat feel, nice extensive menu, and they even offer some food. I ordered my artificially flavored milk tea with undercooked boba and man... I just wanted to cry a little inside. I was really looking forward to some good boba!
(2)Iris T.
I decided to give this place a try in hopes of finding my STL bubble tea joint and unfortunately, I think I've got some more looking to do. I had their mocha blast with boba and it was, as Yelp would put it, "a-ok." It would've been a nice drink to have in the Midwest heat... had my drink not kept on leaking through the lid. On the flip side, I think it's just the coffee-type drinks that have the lids.. all other drinks options (and they've got a lot of them) come with the plastic covering. For about $4 a drink, I don't think I'll be frequenting this place very often.
(3)Cat W.
I was pretty disappointed when I moved to St. Louis and tried the bubble tea here; it really isn't comparable to the bubble tea back in nyc (but I guess my standards are pretty high, since I come from a town in nyc that's predominantly Asian and has bubble tea shops on every block). It just doesn't taste as good/authentic. The taro milk tea reminded me of cough syrup, which definitely isn't a good thing. The jasmine milk tea is okay. Anyway, this place is alright...but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
(2)Jason J.
I was there a few days ago and ordered a fried crispy chicken as my appetizer and fried rice to go with my boba tea. I am telling you guys that I extremely hated myself for ordering these items again which were testified to be greasy and unpleasant before by us. I start questioning myself why I still come back to this place and it is likely because this place has been around a long time and us students just kinda of get used to it. The boba in the tea was the old and hard and yes I am very sure those boba was the left over from the other days. Tea tasted way to sugary. There is barely any chicken in my appetizer. All you got was just whole bunch of flour fried with chicken skin. I don't even want to say anything about the fried rice. And yes many of their customers mentioned about the stuffy and hot atmospheres inside the restaurant. I should not ask the reason for not having ac in the restaurant because their reply was like " I don't know. ask the owner why. They tried to save money" yes that is enough. We won't return no matter what and never ever again.
(1)John D.
I used to go to this location a lot, but I have slowed down because there's another location closer to my home and less busy than this one... Never had the food at both locations, but the bubble teas and snows are delectable! Refreshing after a long, hot day of shopping on the Loop!
(4)Rick S.
First off the two drinks I got were pretty good. Good enough for 4+ stars pretty good but the service was absolutely brutal. Yes it the first nice weekend of the spring and people were all over The Loop but come on.... 28 minutes for my 2 drink order to get ready???? I'm just glad it was Sunday and I didn't have to put $$ in the parking meter. Yes my passion fruit snow with boba and dark plum green tea with boba were spectacular but I watched 4 different people go up and ask for their $$ back because they were there over 30 minutes and hadn't gotten their drinks yet. I wanted to give this place more stars because of the drinks and the food looked incredible (yes I had plenty of time to scope it out) but I wanted to give it less stars because they were slow and the girl making the teas didn't give a shit at all. She held a conversation with a patron for 10 minutes while making 2 drinks. No wonder why it took so long.
(3)John H.
My experience with St. Louis Bubble Tea was an interesting one. I don't remember how I came into it, but at some point in college I won a $25 gift certificate here. I remember looking at it and saying, "Sweet. Now what the hell is bubble tea?" I subsequently went once a week for the rest of the time in St. Louis. It became a ritual, a study break, a snack, whatever. Not particularly cheap, but it's hard not to be in a better mood when you're through with one of these.
(4)Jacqueline C.
I usually visit the Olive location it's close to home and it's easy to get to. I have had boba drinks in other places and they don't always use real fruit in their drink. But am always up for a Lemon Slush with extra Boba or lately it's been a boba milk tea or lychee with boba. My first taste of this stuff was about eight years ago and ever since I've introduced all of my friends who have never tried it to boba drinks. I am still trying to figure a way toget it to my little borhter at college in Albany, NY.

So today I was taking my daughter for a stroll around the Loop. It was a nice day, cloudy, and then all of a sudden it starts raining. So we ended up ducking in here to get out of the rain. Since I like bubble tea I decided to order something. They offer several menu boards full of items and it took me a bit to figure out what I wanted. They had tea, hot drinks, cold drinks, snow, lots of stuff. The store was relatively quiet and I was the only one in line so when I told the person behind the counter it would take me a bit he told me to take my time in a very friendly way. He could of easily been annoyed, might of been keeping him from something else, but it was nice about it. I did decide on the mango slush which was wonderful. When I order it, the same guy behind the counter poured me a little sample without me even asking for it and said, "Try it, see if you like it." I did, was nice and cold, sweet, and mango-y. He commented on the stroller, said he had a kid himself, and we had a nice little conversation while he filled the order. Pretty much as soon as I sat down to enjoy it, it stopped raining, so I got back to strolling. But thank you sir for the great mango slush and your great customer service. I'll definitely be back.
(5)Amber R.
First of all, there really aren't many things in life quite as exciting as boba through a straw. Except watching someone else drink it for the first time... The drinks here were good, although not the best I've had in STL for the price. BUT I'm giving four stars for the staff. Not only did I get my order at lightning-fast speed, but everyone was just so NICE. That goes a long way as far as I'm concerned. I'll definitely be popping in again for my fix.
(4)Raheel L.
Bubble Tea is one of my favorite drinks, I usually drink this as an alternative to desert. St. Louis bubble Tea, located in the Delmar Loop is a great location to stop by, if you're in the area and grab a glass of bubble tea from their humongous selection of drinks, smoothies, etc from the menu. Prices are fair, friendly service. Every time I am in the Delmar Loop, at one of the restaurants or for whatever reason I make sure to stop at "St. Louis Bubble Tea" to get me one of their bubble tea off the menu.
(4)dean d.
Honey Green Tea Boba Tea: delicious.
(4)Kendra L.
The different flavors of teas are terrific. You have a choice to get the rubarb bubbles at the bottom. The guy who makes teas is very knowledgeable and makes your decision easy.
(4)Annie P.
I first discovered bubble tea when my friend brought me back a plum snow. The boba may be an acquired taste to those with texture problems but now I can never get enough. What's so great about this place is the atmosphere, flavor choices, and the food. You'd think that for a place that advertises as a drinks establishment the food would just be an afterthought--it's totally not! Some of my favorites include the fried dumplings, vegetarian egg rolls, braised chicken, and beef with broccoli. The perfect place to go for a tasty meal and a tastier drink! Beware! Some of the flavors can be VERY sweet. Two beefs I have with this restaurant: 1) Most of the times I've been here there have only been three people working at most. If you come at a busy time, you'll be waiting awhile--especially if you order food. 2) Plum flavor is my favorite but for the last four times or so I've been there (which have been spread out over a couple of months) they've been out. :(
(4)Stephanie I.
The drinks here are decent...not the best I've ever had, but they're acceptable. I also ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, which was pretty good. It was a relatively big bowl, so you definitely get your money's worth! Out of the Asian places in St Louis, this is definitely one of the better ones though.
(3)Julia W.
It's official. I'm addicted to the strawberry snow. Lucky for me, Justin is addicted to the hot braised chicken (which is quite good and stays crispy, especially when you pull it out of its sauce and pile it on your rice upon receiving it). I actually came here twice in one day for strawberry snow with boba. Don't tell Justin.
(4)Liz A.
I always stop here for a shopping break when I'm in the area. Strawberry snow and the boba cappuccino are some favorites of mine... I wouldn't eat the food. The service isn't that great (they are actually borderline mean here) but whatever, I just want my strawberry snow!
(3)Daniel L.
The bubble tea here is mediocre at best. Whenever I've gone, the tapioca has been undercooked in the middle, leaving it all grainy. The tea is also perversely sweet, giving Pepsi a run for its money. On top of the lowish-quality bubble tea, the service has also been pretty slow. I most recently ended up waiting about 15 minutes to get to the register and another 5 to get the not-so-good bubble tea. I haven't tried the food, but it seems like pretty standard take-out American-style Chinese food from the looks of it. It's nice that St. Louis has a bubble tea place, but sadly it doesn't compare in quality to what you get in Asia or other major U.S. cities.
(2)Seni J.
I've had bubble tea in various locations before- mostly Chicago land area. This location- by far- has the largest flavor variety, and they are very tasty! Over 50 flavors in milk tea, snow, and slushies. I will be visiting this place frequently!!!
(5)Danielle W.
I absolutely LOVE this place. I cannot get enough of Bubble Tea. I first got hooked when I was in college at University of Denver and I never thought I would be able to find another place as good as the one out in Colorado. BUT I DID! I go here atleast once a week. I only order milk teas though, and my favorite is Taro w Boba. I even got my boyfriend hooked. So, if you are in the mood for something a little more "interesting" (if you will) then head to Bubble tea StL and try something new.
(5)Yen D.
A pretty solid boba place, with a large selection of good-looking and good-smelling food (I didn't eat). They have the usual selection of drinks, snows, slushies, hot and cold milk teas, which are pretty good. They don't have rainbow jelly, but they do have coconut and lychee jellies, boba (of course), and milk, egg, chocolate, and taro puddings. Service was fantastic, but I'm blaming that on flirtiness rather than a commitment to the customer. Nothing fancy with the surroundings, just tables and chairs (vs. couches, games, extremely loud music, etc. you find at other boba places, possibly in other cities/states). I had a coconut jelly pudding tea with egg pudding and black tea, and it was pretty fantastic. My friend had a taro milk tea with boba, another had some crazy chocolate-mint thing that tasted like a crappy version of something that belongs at Starbuck's. So in sum, a pretty decent bubble tea place to hang out at.
(3)Anita H.
I went here because of my love for bubble tea and all the hype, especially for the strawberry snow. Let me tell you, it was artificial-flavorific... and left me disappointed. I know most bubble teas are made from syrups, but I wasn't expecting such fake tasting strawberry flavor. I'm giving it 3 stars because I'm hopeful a regular milk bubble tea is better.
(3)Jae K.
I've been going here since it first opened and have enjoyed it ever since. I usually stick to my favorites which include the tangerine snow and honeydew milk tea. I also recommend the Singapore street noodles as well. The portion sizes are hefty and leave a great snack for later. The only downside is that it can take a while to get your food. If this is a concern, I recommend calling ahead of time to order your food.
(5)Liz Z.
it's funny that when you come from a relatively very metropolitan neighborhood such as the washington d.c. area, you'd expect more "boba shops"; but there weren't any. and i move here to STL, and BAM!!! there's several bubble tea joints within 5 miles of my home. this joint definitely gets my vote. they have my favorite: honeydew milk tea w/ the option for boba. always a good thing to make me happy.
(4)Jennifer H.
I've got to tell you, I'm so over the whole Bubble Tea movement. I remember when it first came to Champaign when I was going to school there and my friends and I practically lived at our local bubble tea joint. Now that the novelty has worn off a bit, I find it kind of boring. But, if you're not burned out on Bubble Tea, the best place in STL to go is St. Louis Bubble Tea, which has several location across STL, but I can only speak for the Delmar location. The store is clean, the staff friendly, but the look isn't nearly as homey as my old haunt in central Illinois. In addition to their selection of Bubble Tea, they also offer smoothies, snack items/small plates, hot teas, and much more!
(3)Crystal R.
It really gave me quite a shock the first time my daughter gave me a drink of her Bubble Tea w/ Boba.... *mmmmm, tea and then BLOOP....a big bubble of tapioca!* After the chocking fit I had to try it again, and now am quite addicted. Not sure how fattening this stuff is, but man it's good. We need one closer to me in Soulard or Lafayette.
(5)Elizabeth B.
Pretty decent bubble tea in St. Louis. Not quite as good as in Chinatown, but it's definitely not a "pizza and/or bagel" situation where I'd rather just wait the cravings out. Actually, I'd say it was pretty good. I almost always get taro with skim milk (though I have doubts to the skim-ness of the milk) and love the lavender color and soothing taste. The boba are cooked well - not to chewy or hard. I also love the sealing top machine so I can grab the tea and put it in my car without worrying that it will fly all over the place. They also sell food and I got a mediocre porkbun once. The bun was good, the pork filling was too sweet.
(4)Kartik K.
I love this place for bubble tea! It opened up while I was living in St. Louis, and I would go at least twice a week. Oddly, I really loved the Boba Milk Coffee and the Boba cappuccino. Granted I haven't actively looked for bubble tea in other places, but really couldn't find a better place in Dallas, KC, or NYC (I'm sure I missed some places in NYC)...Regardless, whenever I go back to Stl, I make sure to stop here.
(5)Aricka F.
I love love love Bubble tea and this place makes AMAZING bubble tea. Strawberry snow I my favorite. Go here!
(5)Daniel Z.
As some context, I'm California based and spend time in Taiwan so I've definitely become spoiled over the years in terms of boba spots. I was really glad to hear about this place as I visit St. Louis a couple time of years and made it a point to try this place out. In a nutshell, they have a decent selection of drinks and snacks. Were the drinks mind-blowing? No, but it was good and a nice reminder of my "other life." The food was OK, but not great. Again, I was appreciative of the familiarity and it was a nice escape during the cold winter. Food and service probably warrant a three, but it gets an extra star for adding to St. Louis culture and I had a pleasant experience. I'll definitely be back in the future. BTW, hopefully they fixed the lock to the bathroom. Despite knocking on the door I twice walked in on a woman sitting on the toilet (she didn't respond, but I don't think she spoke English either). It was a bit awkward.
(4)Kev L.
First boba tea i've had outside of Asia. Five stars for absoltuely delicious boba tea and five stars for the mouth-watering pork & rice dish. This is a must visit for us everytime we are in STL. Not more for the boba but more for the dishes. My wife enjoyed some noodles and praised the texture. Being Filipino, she's super uber picky about noodles and their flavor/texture. I personally just want them to taste good and not be slammed with grease. The hood it's in also is pretty sheik in many ways. A treasure in STL.
(5)Stefanie E.
I'm a fan of boba. I'll admit it. Not to actually consume, of course, but to watch them jostle about in my cup. When I get a bubble tea here, I drink AROUND the boba. Maybe that's a total sin, but I need visual stimulation. I get lychee jelly or something fun to mix in and eat that. More for the boba to bobble against. Boba bobbles, doesn't it? This place is a great idea. Of course they're a dime a dozen in Asia, but this seems to have been one of the first here. And of the others that have popped up, this is still my favorite. I love their wonton soup, too. Of course you can have your boba and eat it too, but I'd still prefer to play with my food.
(4)Nowell G.
Yes, the name says it all. Bubble Tea is available here in a myriad of flavors ranging from sweet juice-based drinks to more adventurous flavors; all with the potential to include little purple-blue tapioca balls called "boba", waiting to be piped into your mouth via large straw. I used to like boba, but then I realized it was an easy way to take up space in a beverage that really doesn't need the tactile sensation of small solids surprising your mouth with every sip. So now, I order a papaya milk tea without boba. It's better that way. What might surprise you is a really good food menu. It's kind of a hidden gem here. Every visit guarantees someone saying "Hey, I didn't know they had food here!" It's pretty good, too. They have a won ton soup that comes complete with hefty won tons and a delicate broth... And although I don't really like sweet and sour chicken, I like it here (the last time I had it, the chicken was tempura battered).
(5)Roger W.
This is a great place to get your bubble tea fix -- and yes, everyone needs to get their fix sooner or later. Especially useful for students who need something to help calm the nerves before an exam or during a study break. The food is decent although nothing to rave about but there is a nice selection.
(4)Katherine T.
Okay Bubble Tea place. Doesn't compare to bubble tea in Chinatown in New York or Chicago. Milk teas are quite sweet, where as other teas are definitely more on the bitter side like they are made with actual tea. Overall an okay place to go for a bubble tea but not the most authentic. Restroom is mediocre at best, with no soap but clean.
(3)amy c.
I ordered takeout (veggie lo mein) here at like 230 on a Tuesday. It took 22 mins for me to get my order!! Isn't the point of "chinese" takeout to be quick and easy? The noodles were also severely overcooked. Its like having all the chewing done for you. Disgusting.
(1)Aaron J.
Drinking bubble tea is an interesting experience. Bubble Tea is a mix of tea, some weird gummy thing, and flavorful tastiness. That may sound strange but I enjoy myself a good bubble tea every now and then. Bubble Tea is a tasty treat for tea lover in which they get to experience a new form of their flavorful beverage. Bubble tea, is actually more of a mixed drink than anything, but without alcohol. That is pretty much the best way that I can describe it. Generally the tea is mixed with milk, sugar, and whatever else, the tapioca "pearls" of course are dropped in there for that extra bit of a kick. St. Louis Bubble Tea offers a nice cool tasty drink that is different from most of the other drinks out there. Nice and tasty, a great drink for a warm day.
(4)Anna D.
A lot of people seem to like this place. Me? It's ok, but I've had better. I'm a fruit lover so my boba drinks will lean more towards the sweet side. This place doesn't use fresh fruits which is why I am not too impressed with this place. It satisfies the short term craving for boba in St. Louis but doesn't really leave too much of a long lasting impression with me. However, if I am in St. Louis, this would be the place I go to if I REALLY needed a boba drink. In all honesty and to put it bluntly, the Asians here who have been to Chicago and have tried Joy Yee's will probably prefer Joy Yee's to this place ANY day! Why? Because they have more variety, fresh ingredients, and they use real fruit. If you're white, this will really depend on your taste bud whether you'll like this place or not and depending on how much you love diversity - drinking and chewing boba at the same time doesn't appeal to many people. Order: If you want something sweet, try the Lychee snow (w/ or w/out tapioca).
(3)Christy L.
OMG - I finally found a place with really good tapioca balls here in STL! After being disappointed with the consistency of the tapioca in the CWE, I didn't have such high hopes to ever find a place here in St. Louis... until today. The balls had the right "Q" texture - chewy but not mushy, cooked all the way through, and slightly sweet. This time around, I stuck with basic flavor - the boba milk tea - but I'll try opting for something different next time. I noticed that they also served the typical chinese "fast food" snacks that you would normally find in a bubble tea place (like the spicy crispy chicken) and different types of noodle soups. So happy to find this place - I'll definitely be coming back!
(5)Leah Z.
i enjoy going there! i admit it's not always the cleanest and it IS sometimes difficult to ask questions... but not that difficult. I haven't tried the food- but i love the coconut milk tea with boba. so great!!! i asked for it made with skim milk... but it tasted far too good for that to be true... hmm. oh well!
(4)Cat L.
i think i have had many bubble teas to last me a life time. lets see try mango snow wit or w/o boba, thai iced tea, and taro or egg puddin milk tea. BOmb!
(4)Danielle A.
I haven't had bubble tea in a long time, so when I saw this place, I decided I had to check it out. I ordered the milk green tea with boba, and it was delicious. The only thing that was disappointing was the service I received. The staff was less than helpful when I asked a question, and again when I asked for a drink suggestion. That is why I only gave it three stars. I would go back again, though, and I would recommend it to a friend as well, despite the poor service I received.
(3)Adam J.
I go for their teas, which are superb. Their chinese food is mediocre at best and are served in small portions.
(3)Claire S.
I've been coming here for at least 6 years now. Even when I moved to Chicago for college, I craved the boba milk tea from St. Louis Bubble Tea. It is my absolute favorite! In fact, I've been searching for something just as good and can't find it. Joy Yee's in Chicago's Chinatown is the closest thing I can find, and, in my opinion, it still doesn't top the greatness of getting my bubble tea here. I've also tried the slush and snow varieties and, depending on the flavor you get, these can be pretty delicious too. But these days, I stick to the boba milk tea. Plus, you can't beat the spill-resistant seals with cheesy/excellent Asian designs on them.
(5)Jennifer B.
I hate bubble tea, so I am not rating on the bubble tea per se. Rather, I am rating on the experience that I had and on their other items. The people here are happy and goofy, enthusiastically asking what you would like. The customers, who apparently all like bubble tea, were all happily slurping away and seemed very pleased. I had a regular milked tea on ice that was very good, and then got a lavender tea with an order of tasty fried dumplings. I can see myself coming here quite often, but not for the name sake bubble tea. So, if you are like me and nearly vomit at the thought of tapioca in your tea, be aware that there are a ton of other options here to choose from.
(5)Monika M.
My first bubble tea ever. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety. Very good options.

My boyfriend and I walked up and down Delmar Blvd looking for a decent restaurant. I carried my Droid with me and looked up each place before entering. I am a foodie from D.C. and everything looked like bar quality food. Finally, we decided to get a bubble tea before we took off to another area to find some decent food. To our surprise, they served a classic Cantonese cafe-styled menu as well. I had a bowl of pork with preserved vegetables soup noodles, and my boyfriend had a plate of the Singapore noodles. We both ordered taro slush with tapioca as well. The portions were huge, and the food was tasty other than the extra MSG that's added to the dishes. Being Chinese, I was pleased to see a cafe with these options in a University district. Plus, the food was very affordable (our entire meal was $21.06. Thanks for a great experience. We don't really even have one of these in the D.C. area.

Excellent place to try a new kind of drink. If they had one of these in Rolla, I would probably be there daily. I am not much of a fan of the "boba", which are those balls of tapioca, so I ask for mine without it. Its about the only place that I know of where I can get a drink with Starfruit juice. They also serve some tempting food, but I have yet to try it,

Wonder if pinkberry is going to make it to St. Louis. This is the common place most people get bubble tea--either milk teas or fruit flavors. They have 2 locations.

I don't understand bubble tea. But I enjoy it from time to time. Its not a daily or weekly or even monthly type drink, but every now and again I feel the need to both eat and drink at the same time. My mother and sister were totally grossed out by it, but being a huge fan of all things gummi, the texture of the "bubbles" doesn't bother me one bit. The lids they put on the containers here are cute and the straws are as well. Its a good place to go for a special occasion like "my family is visiting me this weekend and want to see what the crazy kids do on the weekends except we really don't do that on the weekends, just when they come to visit" type deal.

I haven't tried any of the food on their menu but I want to drink a bubble tea every day. It's a good thing I don't live that close because I could see a serious habit developing. Luv u coconut milk tea with boba!!

By far the best bubble tea (or boba or pearl tea, whatever you call it) in St Louis that I've found so far. Some of their with milk teas are a bit powdery, which is why I haven't given it 5 stars, but their teas are good, the tapioca pearls are chewy but not crunchy, and the jellies are, well, jellies. The food is also pretty good. I've only had a few of the ramen soups, but the broth was good, not just chicken stock, and there was actual fresh vegetables in it like broccoli or baby bok choy.

Had a craving for bubble tea today so I yelped around and found this place. Was actually trying to go to the Olive Blvd location but it was closed when I went at 8:45pm even though the hours said open until 10pm. no bueno! I ordered thai iced tea with boba ($3.50) and beef noodle soup ($5.75). I felt that the bubble tea was averagely priced, but the beef noodle soup was surprisingly inexpensive! I was expecting it to cost around ~$8-12 so this was definitely a plus. The cashier told me it would take 10 minutes to prepare my beef noodle soup but it ended up taking over 20 minutes. It was almost 10pm so I was getting a bit cranky. Taste Test: - Thai Iced bubble tea: the boba was perfectly cooked. I've lived in Taiwan for 5 years, which is where boba first originated so I would say I am pretty experienced in the taste and texture of boba. This was on par. The Thai tea also tasted great - Beef noodle soup: I was expecting Taiwanese beef noodle but I realized after the fact that it was a different item on the menu (beef stew noodle soup) so I'll need to go back and try that. However, the beef noodle soup I got was great too. The meat was flavorful and so was the broth. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the long wait for my takeout order. Otherwise, I had no qualms with this place and would definitely go back to try other items off their menu!

The food at this place is terrible! My husband and I came here late one night because we were craving orange chicken and everywhere else that served it was closed. We waited 20 minutes for our food, even though there was hardly anyone in the place, and we were so disappointed when it finally came. The sauce for the orange chicken tasted like they used powdered orange flavoring. It was overly sweet and extremely fake tasting; it was almost completely inedible (luckily I was able to scrape most of the sauce off and dilute the flavor with the steamed rice). We also got the lo mein noodles, and they were mushy and greasy. Slow service and horrible food - we will not be returning to this place anytime in the future!

Meh. Lots of flavors to choose from... The menu is overwhelming. This is a review of the avocado boba smoothie I seem to always get when going to a bubble tea place. The avocado is FLAVORED POWDER (yuck!) and tasted chalky. The boba is ok but the fact that they powder it is sacrilege, especially when you've had real avocado smoothies in Houston and California. I can't speak to other flavors but they have lots of containers with different powders to make all of the flavors they offer. Not good.

I can't believe the huge soy sauce chicken dish was only $7. It was really delicious. I've had their bubble tea before, and like other reviewers have said, it is powdered. Some of the flavors can be weird like honeydew--really artificial tasting. The food comes out a little slow for a fast casual-style place, but it's not a big deal.

I have a soft spot in my heart for bubble tea. It reminds me of one of my favorite days in NYC w my sister. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy with bubble tea, but this place is awesome. The boba are usually pretty fresh. Only once were they mushy. They have so many flavored and options. They are also speedy and accurate. Yay for boba!

Average bubble tea joint. I'm use to Chicago and Houston bubble tea and having it here in stl can be a huge disappointment! The taro tea here is nice, it's a little stronger and that's what I like. Average in pricing, very affordable. Big downfall is that they need to clean their restaurant a little better. Also, I love that it's not only Asian people working here lol.

Lots of good boba teas. I'm no expert but many good choices. Plenty of space to sit down, restrooms, and some other food on the menu make for a good place. Cool record shop, comic, and game stores close enough to walk with your tea. Pretty sweet setup. Unlike trying to walk with icecream, there is pretty much no mess. Go checkout the loop and stop here. Bubble tea is fun at least as a change up from other treats.

My friend took me here since I was craving some tea, they had a short line but the wait still took forever!! I think they only had 3 people working, I ordered a large passionfruit green tea, and also tried my friends' mango passionfruit slush. The passionfruit green tea was delicious, although I didn't taste that much tea it still quenched my thirst since it was soo freaking humid in there. It was at least 10 + warmer inside the store compared to outside. I am guessing that is because they have a fryer in the back. The staff here is pretty friendly, and they also have a large variety of food to choose from. I don't think I could stay in here because it was just way too humid. Next time I want to try their gaun chau ngau ho ( pan fried flat rice noodles with beef). Prices are reasonable !

Went there and service was horrible. The place was packed but the orders were not served correctly. I ordered food along with drink, however the food was served first while I had to wait about 20-25 minutes for the drink when the server could've just prepared the drink right away. I was finished with the food before the drink was served to me. Who wants to eat food without a drink? The place is also not an Asian place. The workers are not Asian nor are most of the customers. This place is horrible.

Okay, so the drinks here are hit or miss. One day I can get a mango slush and it's absolutely perfect, then two days later, it might be 3 times as sweet, rendering it almost undrinkable after a few swallows. Sure, I've found undercooked boba (one was totally raw) in my drinks from here, and maybe some of them do have some less than pleasant after tastes (ahem, honeydew), but by-and-large their teas are pretty good. I can definitely say that my experience with their milk teas has been pretty stellar compared to my experience with their slushes, so take from that what you will. I'll be honest, their bubble tea just doesn't stack up to what's available in cities like Atlanta, where Koreans comprise the second most populous immigrant population in the city. If I had to rate this place on their drinks alone, I might give it 2-3 stars depending on the quality of the tea that day. However, I still enjoy and purchase their drinks regularly, and I fully recommend you try them if you haven't before! That said, I ordered the General Tso's chicken from here today for takeout, and it was the quality of their food (not necessarily their drinks) that left me amazed. I mean literally amazed. I took a bite, and just blinked a few times, completely stunned by its flavor and the quality of their meat! I honestly didn't expect it to be even close to that good. The sauce is indescribable - probably the best I've ever had. Their chicken was fully white meat, and had no fat or indiscernable little parts hanging off of it, like you find at some establishments. The meal was so large, it could easily feed two people, and might even stretch as far as three meals for me, but I'm a fairly light eater. They also included two mini egg rolls in the box (which were completely delicious)! It was a cute touch on a great meal. Their food bumps my rating up to a solid four stars. I'm so glad I tried it! I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend you branch out of their drinks are all you've tried. Their meals are definitely worth experimenting with!

Prices seem great until you find out it is extra to add boba to the 'boba tea'. Other than that tried some new twists on my old standards. I got a taro pudding boba tea...I think it would have been better if it was blended. Hubby got his old standby and said it tasted fine. I have yet to try the pineapple snow or smoothoe as it is for later.

Great bubble tea. Only thing that was rude about this place was the Asian lady that works in the back. I ordered fries and obviously it's a big basket of it. I asked her for ketchup she gave me ONE ketchup packet. Like are you serious ?! Idk who can finish Fries with one ketchup packet. Now I just go to Olive location they are always super nice

This review is based solely on the milk tea and smoothie we purchased. I ordered a lychee snow and it tasted like sweet milk with a very subtle hint of lychee. The milk tea is decent, however the mango pudding didn't taste quite right, it was probably just made from old mangoes. I didn't feel the drinks were overpriced until I saw that they were smaller than I'm used to. The man working there was friendly and quick, no complaints there. But I'm officially convinced that the only city I can get awesome boba tea is Houston.

Stopped by Bubble Tea and after reading the reviews of other yelpers I have to say that I don't agree with what they're saying in regards to the drinks and food. It could be that I'm visiting from out of town and in my area there are an abundance of tea places but this place just doesn't cut it for me. Walking in, there are a good amount of tables and the decor is decent. The menu is overwhelming. There are many different varieties of drinks and add-ons. With a menu this size, I don't think it's possible to serve without using powder base for their drinks. I ordered the taro milk tea with no add ons. The tea was thick and did not taste fresh. It was smooth, but very rich. I could taste the powder that they used to mix the drink and it was not impressive. For the price of the drink I would hope that they would make things fresh, but I guess with a menu that size, the upkeep would be too costly. Granted I only tried one drink, and it could be that their other tea drinks are fresh and better, but this review is based on my taro milk tea and chicken. Also ordered the spicy chicken side that took...forever. It took them 16 minutes from the time I ordered to give me my food. If I liked my drink it would've been gone in half the time it took them to make my food. This wasn't a one time occurrence. I came twice just in case the first time was an off day. The chicken was decent...nothing I'd rave over. It was a bit dry and the batter used to coat the chicken was very rich, but not in a savory way. It was rich in an overwhelming, heart burn-acid reflux kind of way. Since I live in an area with numerous tea/drink establishments it could be that I am writing this review with some bias, but I honestly do believe that you can get a better bang for your buck. The drinks here are overpriced and not worth what you pay for them. I've visited places that have drinks for half the price, same size, and would knock your socks off. I would not go out of my way for a drink here and I would not recommend this location for drinks, unless it was a last resort...and I lost my sense of taste.

I finally had my first experience of the Bubble Tea sensation...And it was just alright. I got the most popular milk tea with boba. Boba is what makes bubble tea, bubbly if you will. They are large tapioca balls that really don't have a lot of flavor themselves, but provide an interesting texture to the drink. The tea flavor was good. Creamy, smooth, and sweet, but towards the end of my drink i was sort of sick of the boba balls shooting through the massive straw hole. The guy behind the counter was really nice and helped explain everything and offered me samples to try. I should maybe have gone with the bursting bubble drink, which has fruit filled juice balls instead of the tapioca option. I tried the mango flavor one which was yummy. I ordered the Singapore street style noodles, which was pretty decent. The serving size was definitely huge. Seafood, pork, veggies served with thin noodles and a peppery bite finish. The worst part of my experience was going to the restroom. I feel almost bad about posting a photo of the literal "shit-hole" bathroom, but not enough to not do it. The one thing a picture can't capture is the aroma of a place, which in this case means you are one lucky Yelpy. Beyond the very ripe pee-like stench, there was a toilet that probably has not been cleaned in like 2 months, no soap, and toilet paper debris strewn about reminiscent of a rebellious teenie bopper slumber party. Will I be back, probably, but I'll be sure to hit up a potty before I go.....
