Went in on a Tuesday night, sweet bartender made a good ole fashioned, enjoyed music selection from the juke box (plenty of Tom waits), and free pool. Looking forward to going back. clean inside. back in on a Thursday night, Adam was a very chill, attentive bartender. Really enjoyed the house cheese taquitos - awesome sauce (tomato base with a carrot hot sauce)...pepperoni pizza was solid, also with a house sauce with a good amount of spices. I might end up as a regular - other customers were just down for a good time, very friendly.

Mid November, three partners (Adam, Nicole and Ryder) opened Ryder's Tavern in the former Bleeding Deacon location. Named for Ryder, RFT's 2007 Best Bartender in St. Louis. After remodeling the space beautifully throughout the summer, the space is brighter than before with gorgeous wood floors and mosaic tile. There is a jukebox and free pool table for entertainment. They have even already had Bass Amp in to play Bob's Scratchy Records. They have partnered with neighbor, Civil Life, to offer their beer at the taps. We popped in on a Saturday when they were offering a special Civil Life Rye in commemorative glasses for the first 100 customers. They have an extensive beer selection on draft at over a dozen taps and in cans. Cocktails are available to order as well. During these cold months they've been offering spiked cider to warm patrons. The kitchen just opened the first week of December. They have soup and sandwiches on the menu with plans to expand. Currently, half the menu is vegetarian. We tried all their offerings and agreed they were tasty. The star was the hot dog with a little sauerkraut on a companion pretzel croissant. The flavors worked well together. The homemade ketchup on the side was less tangy and more sweet than bottled ketchup. I got my grilled cheese on marble rye, another rye bread is available as well. It was good. We both got the lentil soup, mine without meat and his with. Both were flavorful. I look forward to seeing what else develops from their kitchen. They are cash only, but an ATM is on site.

Nice place to hang out on Saturday afternoon on the patio, dog friendly. Owner was very cool.

Ryder's can be a bit quiet. but the staff is nice and fun, the food is good, the hokey old jukebox is cheap and obscure, they have a full bar, a few cheap food options, a good beer selection and a rear patio. I'm in!

Friend recommended this place. This tavern is great. I was welcomed by Ryder himself the first time I walked in. Awesome staff, food, music. No smoking inside, but there is a very good patio, tables and chairs, you can enjoy you smoke. Menu size is perfect. No words can describe all the details, you must come and experience this tavern.

My husband and I stopped in last Friday after a fish fry. The space is much improved over what it was like at the Deacon: tongue and groove and mosaic floor, no smoking, still the excellent old school juke box. Excellent and personable service. We will definitely go back.

RYDER'S KICKS ASS. Service, beer selection, food, ambiance and music is impeccable. For real, this place is a gem. So glad it is in my neighborhood.

I stopped in last night for a quick drink and had a nice conversation with Ryder. The place looks great, the music was good. The menu is small but looks delicious-- there are vegetarian and meaty options to soak up whatever you're drinking. I will definitely be back soon!

We have stopped in to Ryder's on two separate Saturday afternoons for lunch and a drink. Though the menu is small everything we have tried has been great. We have tried the Ruben and the grilled cheese they were both very good sandwiches. This last Saturday we tried the pizza and it was great also, Ryder himself told us they try to use local ingredients and you can tell!
