I will second Jill on H'Town Buffett. There is a lot to choose from, and their desserts are pretty decent, especially their cobblers. But the masses that crowd this place sometimes make you wonder if you're at a Weight Watchers meet n' greet. Not than I'm a skinny bitch, but I try to know when to put the fork down.

I was cleaning all day and kind of grubby so I wanted to go some where I wouldn't know anybody and I wanted to avoid fast food. So I went to Hometown Buffet. I could get a little salad veggies and a few choices of meat. I was craving a little steak. The place was very clean moderately busy and although a much smaller selection a much more sanitary option than the Golden Corral. The food was just OK. They did not have steak cuts which is what I wanted. They had a sirloin tip pot that did not look appealing at all. The roast was very dry but the rib and the fried chicken were pretty decent. The food options and assortment could have been better but if your going to a buffet I would still choose it over the Golden Coral. The dining room attendant was a gem of a lady. They are lucky to have Michele.

I give them one star for just being open ...food horrible and cold no replenishment of nothing first time and definitely the last.

no plates no meat. absolute dump. manager could not be found. what they do take your money real well and fast. and if you're not happy they give you a dollar coupon, which do you really think I'm going to come back here.

This location is possibly the best buffet in St. Louis. I have no choice but to believe they are under new management, because the buffet stayed stocked with fresh food with amazing variety, the bussers were chatty and friendly, yet not overbearing, and the place was absolutely spotless. Great dinner for the family.

The service was good but the food was downright horrible. First, here is just not much to choose. The prime rib was rubbery, dry and not even served with au just...just sad. The Caesar dressing was inedible. My girlfriend asked to have a steak cooked rare which they did - I she said it was alright but when I try it it tasted like I was eating rubber. The ham wasn't bad and neither was a few of the fried dishes. I could go on and on but there s no need. I can only say for the price and atmosphere I would never go back.

Eek is right. I have downgraded Hometown Buffet fully 50% to only one lonesome, sad little star. I went with my family last night. They have changed a few things...their bleu cheese dressing isn't as good, for instance. Their cheesecake (one of their only highlights, really) is now weird tasting in a bad way. The worst thing? They have changed from ceramic coffee mugs to brightly colored plastic ones. Wouldn't be a big deal except I guess plastic doesn't clean as easily. I looked at FOUR yellow (I chose yellow for ease of seeing visible nasty) mugs before I finally just opted to not get coffee. It wasn't that they were a little dirty, oh no. They were DISGUSTING. I am talking practically entire meals still stuck inside these allegedly clean mugs. Want salad and some mac n cheese? No need to go to the bar, just grab a "clean" coffee mug! Yay!

Could have been better if their coffee was served for free like in Golden Corral. I love their baby back ribs. This buffet has less choices than the Golden Corral.
