My fave sushi place downtown. Service in and delivery through grub hub are both great. I run a store alone, so i get delivery a lot. Good packaging is a must and they are great! Extra spicy mayo on the side? No prob! And omg. Please do yourself a favor a try the lobster appetizer rolls. Omg. So. Freaking. Good. If they werent pricy, dear lord, i would get it all the time.

They try hard at Drunken Fish. Maybe they try too hard. I was asked if I had been there before and when I answered no, the server offered to review the menu with me. Nice, right? Instead of asking me what I liked and recommending a few things that matched, she proceeded to pretty much read the menu to me. After dinner when I asked about dessert, she opened up the menu and read it aloud again. I get it, she's green, she's trying to help and doesn't quite know how. but it was as comical as the first date going on next to me trying to pay with a Groupon. (Pro tip: Guys, she probably won't be impressed when you pull out a Groupon.) As for the sushi, hope you like mayo, because they have a heavy hand on the bottle. I also got the wrong roll, as the server got her superheroes mixed up when she put the order in. The server offered to replace it, but since it was late and I had eaten half of it, I opted to just finish it. The rolls were pretty good, but would have been better with a touch less aoli. It just wasn't my night. The fish was good quality, and I suspect that if you catch them on a good night dinner here can be great. But the true comedy is the beer list. I realize this is the land of Bud so the city's idea of craft beer may be warped, but on what planet does Heineken and Corona qualify as craft beer? Were they going for irony or do they just not know?

Went on a Tuesday night. Place had about six empty tables and six full tables. Servers refused to sit us down since they only had three servers and a manager and apparently the servers could not handle more than six tables at any given time. In general I just don't recommend eating sushi from a restaurant that is not competent enough to handle their restaurant at half capacity.

Nothing spectacular. Went here for to take advantage of the lunch specials, but it happened to be a game day, and apparently they don't offer lunch deals on game days. Hmm... I wasn't about to pay $15 pre-tax and tip for a roll, so I went with the stir-fried udon noodles with chicken ($11--other proteins gradually got more expensive, with one option costing $15) and split an order of the sweet potato fries with my friend. The sweet potato fries were kind of soggy? They tasted okay. The flavors didn't seem to mesh well together, mostly just sweet on sweet. The stickiness of the sauce they are coated in didn't really work either. The udon noodles were okay, and I thought the portion size was good. The sauce had all fallen to the bottom of the bowl, which I didn't realize until halfway through my meal. Our waitress was polite but at times a little awkward, and I felt like she wasn't able to answer my questions. This is a weak 3 stars.

Well I saved my review for this location of Drunken Fish and I'm sad to say it's no more..... scary news! Anyway, we had great service here on a Friday night and had like 3 people attending to us. They even wrapped up our wine bottle for us, which I didn't know was a thing or possibility! The sushi rolls were great and the shrimp fried rice is a fave too! Yum, will miss this location!

I come here after school on weekdays. The service has always been top notch and the food/drinks are worth the weekly splurge! My favorite is the fried Philly roll with spicy mayo.

Very nice atmosphere, interior design was well planned out and gave a mature atmosphere. Menu had lots of options but our waiter was confusing with prices and ended up mixing up our salad orders. Was resolved in the end though. Lobster appetizer rolls were really delicious. Great flavor and crispy outside. Now the salads were weird. Would not recommend getting salads at a Japanese place because the vegetables weren't the most fresh, the flavor was odd but not tasty. The sushi and chicken bowl were pretty good. The amount of chicken was almost overwhelming compared to rice proportion and the amount fried is not healthy... But overall a decent experience. Pricey though.

This is one of the best spots for a sit down meal on the landing! Food is consistently excellent and always fresh. I have been going here for years and they always have great staff. The ambience is great, whether you are entertaining business guests, with friends or on a date. Put of all of the Drunken Fish locations, this is the one that combines the great history of Saint Louis with the years of Sushi experience. If you are downtown StL this is a wonderful spot to visit! Check it out, grab some drinks, get some amazing food, go see the arch riverfront, and have a GREAT time!

Very Americanized sushi. Lots of sauce, tempura, cream cheese, etc. Fish quality was okay. It was hard to find any kind of variety in the menu. The sushi chefs did not have much to say for recommendations. If you're not a sushi aficionado, you could be fine with Drunken Fish. Being from coastal California, I'm used to really good, fresh sushi, so I have high standards. But I was craving sushi on a cross-country road trip, so had to give it a shot. Not too bad, not too good. Just average.

I knew something was amiss when the waitress assured us, immediately after introducing herself, that they had plenty of "cooked" food to offer -- suggesting that a significant percentage of this sushi restaurant's patrons are not actually on board with the whole sushi thing. Sure enough, the menu was jammed packed with what I will politely call hybridized sushi - by which I mean lots of cream cheese, mayo, and deep frying. Buried in the corner was a small selection of "classic" nigiri sushi, which I ordered from, and was pretty disappointed. The mackerel, which is usually a hard to ruin nigiri standby, was dry and past its prime. Overall, the quality was about what I would expect from supermarket sushi, at quite a bit more than supermarket prices.

Pleasantly surprised. I would have liked to see a better variety of special rolls that would have contained salmon. The fishbowls were a little too artificially sugared, the waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating and the ambiance was trendy and fun. I would come back again! However it was my friends birthday and they told us they would bring something special out for her and they forgot!! :(

Very nice interior design, amazing food and great drinks. The server was very nice and attentive. The only review I read was in complaint of the parking charge that the restaurant themselves do not control.

  • Ali A.

This place is stupid, they charge $6 for parking whether it's busy or it's just a dead night. No wonder this place is always dead and there is no business. Stopped in on a Monday night at 7pm and for an hour and a half we were the only people here in the whole restaurant!!!! Landing is dead and the businesses are not doing anything about parking!!!!!!

I was at the Drunken fish yesterday with my friends, (the same friends from New Year's Eve) this was our second time at this location, this time we were there with our babies. The service was amazing, the food was great, such a friendly atmosphere, our servers name was Courtney and we absolutely loved how friendly she was, she was warm and very helpful. If you are going definitely save room for their signature desert because it's absolutely worth it.

It is what it is... sushi place. I can't say it's the best sushi around, nor is it the worst. The cost is rather high though, compared to a lot of other places in town. The Happy hour is the time to go, you can grab a white tiger roll for half price (which is about what it should cost, in my opinion). The service was just alright.. We had a groupon deal so it made it a little more bearable..

Stopped in here for a late Tuesday night dinner. The space was nice but not a lot of people were there. The staff was really friendly. The dinner itself was only OK. I thought it was a bit too pricey. I started with a seaweed salad that tasted good but like it had been defrosted or something. The sushi was OK as well. I had salmon with avocado wrapped in cucumber, which was good. I also had the rainbow roll, which I didn't like as much as usual. The fish on top was very fresh but the eel that was within the roll was a little hard to chew. Their happy hour deals were good but limited. Overall it was OK and the ambiance was nice, I just don't know if I'd visit again.

Great food, ambience & service (from Chris) The thing that disturbs me the most... is their so-called infused house sake. I got the "Mango" one, which when it came out, was pink, (not the more orange-yellow color I expect from mango, fresh or Goya puree). Its consistency was syrupy (totally wrong for Sake). It tasted of sugar, not of mango. It was very very bad. I was expecting something as simple as their house sake with a little fruit puree mixed in, to color it slightly AND to give it that "hint of" flavoring to be close enough to being called "infused".

So disappointing! I had wanted to try this place for awhile ,menu sounded great but unfortunately, my experience was horrible. Dumplings arrived with a nice large hair in one of them. No offer of taking it off the check or anything ! Service was horrible and we were the only table in there at lunch time! Sushi was just ok,fried rice was horrible. Spicy tuna roll had no taste and no spice . Would not recommend at all. Update-It was nice that the manager contacted me to find out about my experience, really seemed to care about it. Offered a gift card , which when I received it was for $20..a little surprising since I spent over $150 for a horrible experience.

Best sushi in St. Louis. My favorites are the Superman, Spider-Man and Drunken Fish Roll. Getting inside is a lot easier now that the construction in front of the building is finally over. Request a booth for a more private dinner. The staff has always been friendly. I've never had a bad experience.

Eleven of us showed up without a reservation and the host was very accommodating. It took only about 3 mins for them to put together a table for us. Since we were on biz we all wanted separate checks & we wanted to split some items up to 3 ways - no problem at all. The server (Jon) spent time describing some of the drinks and was infinitely patient with those who had a hard time deciding. Initially I thought he was slow to deliver the drinks, but then I saw he was delivering them one-by-one so they wouldn't spill. Nice! Though I wouldn't call the rolls authentic by any stretch, they were fun, rolled tightly (so they didn't fall apart when dipped), and beautifully presented. I can't remember them all, but we had the starburst, mango roll and the spider roll along with edemame as an appetizer. They often have a yelp check-in offer which has been the edemame app in the past & is currently a shot of house sake. Prices were very reasonable & we had a super fun time. I'd definitely go back.

Pretty good, not the best Japanese I have ever had & not the worst. A bit more Americanized than I like, but the quality of the food was good and the taste was good.

This place is great! We must've come at the right time on the right day, (Friday afternoon) because the service was both immediate and fantastic! We are out of towers from Philadelphia, and we like to try out sushi in every city we visit. By far, the sushi at this Drunken Fish location is one of the best we've ever had! The white tiger roll is amazing, and we've never had any roll that can really match the Spicy Butterfly Roll! If you're heading to this location, make sure you try either roll! The consideration at this location is also something you don't usually find at a city restaurant! When I accidentally spilled soy sauce on my new sweater, I was immediately given club soda to get the stain out! Very thoughtful! And Lauren, our server, was as pleasant as could be. After our meal, we immediately filled out our survey. However, after it was completed, we still didn't feel as though we had emphasized Lauren's superior service well enough, so here we are! We appreciated her insight, and she was a genuinely good heart! So Lauren, thanks for the great service, and to Lauren's boss: this location would do well in keeping her around for as long as they can, she is superb!

A Groupon deal lured us in and we were not disappointed. This is was our first experience with sushi outside of a supermarket so I cannot compare the food to other establishments. I can say, however, that we enjoyed everything we ordered and there were no leftovers! The service was some of the best I have had in years. Our server "Kris" was excellent in explaining in the menu and providing recommendations. He was very attentive and we were never without. The manager came and checked up on us and our water glasses were never 1/2 full before being topped off. A great experience. We ordered a small appetizer, the combo platter and a specialty roll and it was definitely enough for two adults. I booked a reservation through their website in advance but we showed up at 5:30 on a Saturday and probably could have gotten a table without it. It probably helps the ball game was still in session because it did start to fill up as the game let out. The website has a full menu with pricing for those who want to check it out before going.

Being as my last experience here was so great, I had to give it another go... Last night, about 40 friends and I celebrated a couple of dear friends' birthdays at the Drunken Fish. Over a month of hard work, planning, and coordination with Drunken Fish management went into making this night happen. Everything including the food, the drinks, and the service we were provided HIGHLY exceeded our expectations. Ken (Our Manager)- Where do I even begin? Thank you so much for all of the time you took to help me coordinate and plan out this evening. The extent of your patience and degree of your professionalism was impeccable, from the moment I contacted you a month or so ago, to the moment my 40 friends and I left your restaurant late yesterday evening. I personally received MANY compliments on throwing such a nice party, which of course I owe all of them to you and your amazing staff. Chelsea, Chris, and Jon (Our Severs and Bartender)- You guys were on center stage all night, and the performance couldn't have been better. I realize that it is challenging to serve a large group, especially as often everyone is needing something at the very same time. Every guest in our party was very impressed with the service you provide to us. Thank you for making our night PERFECT. When I walk into a restaurant accompanied by my friends and/or family, I'm not simply looking to have dinner, I'm looking to have an experience. MUCH more goes into having a good experience compared to just having a good dinner. If you are reading this and you are someone who values much more than just simply good food when choosing somewhere to dine, then I must implore that you make Drunken Fish on Laclede's Landing your next destination. Even for those of you that aren't crazy about sushi, there are many other delicious options to choose from. Thank you Drunken Fish, we will be back again, again, and again!

This is my favorite restaurant in St. Louis! I've never eaten anything from here that wasn't delicious. Definitely worth the price. Interior design is lovely. I recommend the Blue Eyed Asian and Madame Butterfly martinis. The Wonderwoman roll is fantastic and rolled in cucumber with no rice. The White Tiger roll is phenomenal. I always get the Asian Lettuce Wraps as a starter. The table service is typically excellent. The bar service is always slow. Worth the wait!

Great time was had by all. Service was top notch and food was great. We had a group of 20, so they dedicated a server to us and she was awesome. The manager helped out and everything was smooth, never really had to wait on anything. Karaoke was fun too, just wish the sound system was better. Overall a great time, great food, great place. I will be back again.

I was excited to come here after viewing an extensive sake and sushi menu online, but once I got here that changed quick. The manager is the bartender who was screaming commands to the employees thru an ear piece. A total control freak/micro manager embarrassing the employees. The place was 30% full and they are asking people to wait 5 minutes at the door there appears to be some major staffing issues here. Bartender/ manager refused to take my food order and I had to relay my drink and dinner order to a waiter. I asked for a cocktail to be made a specific way which thru another person was not relayed and came to me wrong. The sushi itself was amateur from the rolling to the plating but then again I'm in St. Louis. Your better off down the road at Morgan brewery trying some great craft beers. Their best asset is the hostess Reese. I would try them again in hopes this was a one time fluke that they failed on big time.

I feel bad about this review but as I start typing and reliving my evening, I'm sticking with the one star. Let's start with my reservation. I was bringing a group of 12 in for dinner. Called a week ahead of time and was told it wouldn't be a problem. The "manager" was very pleasant and waived the credit card hold. Skip to Saturday night in the pouring rain with 12 bachlorettes and we find we have no reservation what so ever. After convincing the current manager that I did not make the reservation at the other location, he called, we were placed on the list and told to expect a 60 minute wait. Things happen I get it. I was pleasant, the manager was fine. The host, not the manager, offered to let us sit in the nice lounge area next to the bar while we waited. We made ourselves quietly comfortable and began attempting to get service at the bar. One bar tender for the entire restaurant. It took us almost our entire 60 minute wait to get everyone a drink. It wasn't that the bar tender was slammed by a crowded restaurant, it was just that she took her sweet time. Finally seated and we waited. And waited. 15 minutes later I went up and got menus. Then I went up and got silverware. Then our waitress came and took drink orders and disappeared for another 15 minutes coming back without drinks to take our order. Drinks trickled in. Our food did come very quickly and everyone was very happy once they received what they originally ordered. We only had to ask our waitress to find one person's meal and the manager did comp that dish. We got there at 8:00 and finally cashed out at 11:00. Overall I will not be coming back to this location. I prefer the Central West End location. My whole group has spent time in the restaurant industry so we are a patient and understanding bunch, but by the end of this meal we had had it. DO NOT BRING A LARGE GROUP to this location.

Came here for karaoke. Had a good time but really 2 and 1/2 stars. Karaoke selection was pretty abysmal, very little interaction from the kj and order was off all night. They pretty much picked regulars to go before anyone else and I only got to sing one song even though I put in 2 early in the evening. Overall was only fun because of the company I brought with me. I've been spoiled by really good karaoke in my hometown. Drinks were ok, but nothing to write home about and service was slow. Would not recommend and will look for a better spot next time I'm in town.

I can't believe no one told me about the happy hour half-off sushi specials till this past weekend. So I went to Drunken Fish three times in two days just for the happy hour specials (and desserts) to make up for all that missed value from my poor-college-student years. Happy hour sushi rolls: 4.5 stars -White Tiger, Red Dragon, and Crispy rolls for ~$5-$8, huge portions (8-10 rolls lined up on a plate), amazing quality for the price. Desserts: 4.5 stars -Strawberry cheesecake makimono and the fried green tea ice cream were both great for my taste-buds and also great for supporting the fat cell army that's been trying to take over my body. Misc. orders: 3 stars -Sticky fries, very sweet and sticky, just the way I like'em. -Menage a trois, mehh, too expensive for the lack of freshness, couldn't taste much difference among the tuna/salmon/yellowtail, only ordered this because I was high on capturing value and mistakenly thought that everything on the dinner menu was half off during happy hour. Setting: 4 stars -The location on the landing has the best interior design IMO. Service: 3 stars -Spotty. Good/enthusiastic table waiters, distracted bar servers, and rather pointless hostesses in the front who should be replaced by pretty statues or friendlier guard dogs.

What a great first visit to Drunken Fish! The service and food was greattttttt! We started with a celebratory hot fiery saki shot which was hilariously fun! We screamed the chant with the servers which was super memorable! The rolls were fantastic! The accommodated to my veggie rolls but my friends enjoyed the butterfly roll, tiger and spicy tuna! I would definitely go back!

You walked in the and you are greeted by low lights with red walls; very nice ambiance. The manager walked to our table and introduced himself and our server for the night. They were both knowledgeable on what's on the menu. My friend and I got the spicy eskimo roll which was good but not at all spicy even with the jalapeno slices on top; white tiger roll that was real good with a little bit of crunch to it. I ordered madame butterfly martini and jon, our server suggested a second martini which was better than the first one i ordered but i forgot what it was called. All i can say was jon gave us a very good service! Polite, knowledgeable and efficient.

Well, I was expecting a run of the mill sushi date. We were on a small budget of about $50 and starving, but we managed to get an appetizer, two makimono rolls and a dessert. The service was prompt and just on point. The manager introduced himself and was very friendly. Everything was spectacular.

One of the most wonderful sushi places I have been to in the Untied States. First off let's talk about Alyssa. She is so sweet and a beautiful young woman that can steal your heart. Today she created a new Mango Ice Tea. It had wonderful flavors of tea and mango with just enough sweetness just like Alyssa. Hey Nick and Myonghi, you should name this drink Alyssa's Mango Tea. Alyssa, have you tried making this with green tea? The sushi here is fresh. They fly it in from Seattle. The chefs have created some wonderful tasting sushi here at the Drunken Fish. The ones the hit me the best that puts Drunken Fish towards the top of my sushi places list are: The Big Easy, wonder flavors that go well together. Sashimi with a Kick, the kicker sauce was great match with the fish. Spicy Eskimo, another great roll with jalapeños slices on top. And the Wonderwoman, rolled up in fresh cucumber, just yum. This place is amazing. Inside this old historic building (once a brothel a hundred or so years ago), encases this modern style restaurant. It has a number of different types of seating areas. I think about 7. When I walked inside I could not chose where to sit because they all looked comfortable. Small table by window in the bar area, at the bar, the elegant sofa area, the tatami mat room, the dinner table area, the sushi bar, or the super high back isolating booths (where I was seated). These booths allow you to focus on your company and eliminates most of the world outside that booth so you can enjoy great sushi without distraction. And they are very comfortable. Add to this some modern music and I fell in love with the place. So why not five stars? This is a hard review for me to write. Not for the restaurant, but for me to emphasize one element that I hoped they could do just a little bit better without turning people off to this wonderful sushi bar and night club. And I hope I can explain this well enough. The photos of these four dishes are displayed here on yelp. They were specially plated for the photos by a true Japanese sushi chef. This was some years go but they have been posted on yelp. So when I came to St. Louis I checked yelp for places to eat and found Drunken Fish and saw these creations. I figured this was the place to be. The presentation of these four dishes was grand similar to the presentations in Tokyo. Sadly, I was disappointed. The three dishes were placed on a plater in rows. And the sashimi presentation was bland. This is not what I ordered. I ordered the top four sushi dishes I saw in the pictures on yelp. I even show them to the staff. The manager did forewarn that they were not plated like that. Those pictures are what brought me to Drunken Fish. Let me try to justify this. Most Americans would say, yep it's sushi. I learned to enjoy sushi while I was stationed in Japan for three years. There, it is a form of art. In the finer sushi restaurants they take extra care when creating the dish that it provides a better experience. A yummy feeling not only for your tastebuds, but also for your eyes. And that is what I expected when saw those photos. Alyssa, her manager, and Nick Suna, thank you for taking the time and listening to this old sea dog. You have a great place, great food, great drinks, and great staff.

My lovely Wife was in town to visit me this weekend and she decided to take me out to consume my favorite,, Sushi!! Well, if good (or at the least, edible) Sushi is what you seek my friend, this isn't the place for you. Sushi was terrible. Don't want to even waste my time describing it.. Just re-read sentence #2. If that doesn't provide the answer you seek, read sentence #3. Ambiance? Trendy on the surface, cheap within its true the core. Overhead light was blasting in our eyes, felt as if we were being interrogated by the DEA on El Chapo's location.. However, they did eventually dim them. I think our inexperienced Shokunin was actually blinded by the beacon of light reflected off of my forehead and asked for them to be dimmed. Our friendly waitress did help me make the best choice while purchasing libations. Thanks for that!! 22oz Sapporo, in the can, for only +$2 over the 12oz bottle.. Not bad. The quest to discover what will become our favored Sushi restaurant will continue. DF will not be revisited.

The atmosphere of Drunken Fish is always great. Make reservations for big parties and it's always a great time for birthdays/graduations, etc. Sake Bombs are fun, the sushi is delicious, although a bit pricey, (I ended up paying $35 for myself) but definitely worthwhile as the sushi is delicious - and there aren't many good sushi places in STL. I would not go to the place weekly but definitely a destination if you have a fun occasion to celebrate.

parking was horrendous when we went there so be prepared for that. but as usual, drunken fish never fails to disappoint. the signature sushi rolls are always a must have. I also really like their house sake and the Japanese BBQ wings. if you're with a big group, grab a flaming sake shot!

Sushi was just ok. Waitress was also just ok. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef had very little interaction with us. We are used to getting suggestions from the chef and interacting with him. Didn't happen here! My boyfriend left his phone at the restaurant. We called the next day thinking that must be where it was. The manager said it wasn't there. We stressed all day and finally went back to the restaurant that night so we could talk to the waitress we had. She said oh yeah it's in the office. She went and got the phone. Obviously there is a serious lack of communication between the staff members. So overall not a good experience. Meh sushi, meh waitress and meh sushi chef.......

Used to think it was a good place in St. Louis for quality sushi. If may still be, but the service is severely lacking. They tried to seat adults in a booth, then got snooty when we asked for a table. It went downhill from there.

We were in St Louis for our anniversary and a couple of my wife's coworker recommended this place. Great job, from the ambience to the staff & the food, this place was very good. Being from Chicago we have great Sushi places to compare it too and this one was up there with them. If we're ever in St Louis again, we will definitely stop by.

Came here with the wife and a few friends. Nice cool (ac wise) location, dark sleek, interior. Looked real nice, and was clean. Always a plus when consuming raw fish. During my trip to the restroom, I even saw an employee, furiously washing his hands, excellent. The good: Decor was on point, loungy feel, sleek. The service was awesome. Something my wife and I have noticed about a lot of food service in the STL area, is that it sucks, employees don't care, have no sense of urgency, and don't take much pride in their job. At Drunken Fish, this was not an issue. I beleive from the receipt our server's name was Frank. He was awesome, attentive, interacted with us in a humourous manner, he was awesome, as was the manager. They even took the time to make a custom roll for one of my friends who was being picky. We were group of 6, some of us were being demanding, and Frank and team kept curtious, nice, helpful and funny. Awesome 5 star service. The Bad: The sushi was just, meh. Didn't really pop, lacked flavor, pretty bland. Presentation was on point, but lacked flavor. We tried a bunch of different rolls and combos, all were bland. Also, it was crazy expensive. I come from San Francisco, the most expensive place in the entire universe, and the cost wasnt this much. 2 stars. Overall, the service was awesome and accomodating, the food had a lot of room for improvement, 4 stars.

Now, we may be biased because our office is located on the second floor of the building, but we LOVE Drunken Fish. Several times we have taken clients there for lunch and every time they have walked away impressed. The decor is great (located in a building that was built in the 1800's but totally sleek and modern on the inside. Only complaint would be wait staff turn over. It seems as if we are always dealing with someone new when we go in there (could be a good or bad thing... depending on the waiter) Also, would love to see them get a new website. We can't access on our smartphones or tablets. Call us Drunken Fish ;)

I just ordered shrimp tempura.... Pretty sure that wasn't shrimp. Other coworkers were sick from it. I see why. Never again.

I have eaten at other locations (downtown along The River) and this place continues to be a STL fav for me when I want sushi. This location is in the weird-still-alive-but-obviously-struggling Westport village. I like it because I can stumble back to my room at the Sheraton after drinking a few of their yummy cocktails. The sushi is good and there are a few unique items, but I tend to stick with what I know. Try the hamachi appetizer, it is my favorite here so far.

Always a go to when you've got that sushi craving (and it helps that the Laclede's Landing location is within walking distance of my downtown condo)! Check in for some free sake! Otherwise - miso soup, kamikaze roll, and a specialty martini is where it's at!

My girlfriend and I decided to spend a weekend together in St. Louis exploring the city over Thanksgiving weekend. We both love sushi and eat it as often as possible so we decided we'd start off our weekend with a nice sushi dinner at the Drunken Fish. Well, we both ended up getting food poisoning. I know it was from the Drunken Fish because we both came from separate towns and met up just hours before dinner. We went to the Blues game beforehand and only had a couple drinks, no food. I began to get violently sick around 1am and finally stopped puking around 5am. My girlfriend didn't get sick until the morning. We both spent the whole day in bed Saturday feeling miserable. We had a very fun day planned for Saturday that had to be scrapped. We managed to get out and do a couple things on Sunday but both still felt weak. Finally, now on Tuesday we're feeling back to normal. There's a reason I waited until Tuesday to write this review. I called the Drunken Fish on Saturday at 4pm as soon as they opened to inform them that we had both gotten food poisoning the night before. We didn't want anyone else to go through what we went through, that's for sure! The manager was very sympathetic and asked what we had eaten and said they would inspect everything in the kitchen. He then took all my info and told me the general manager would call me on Monday. I patiently waited all day Monday and never heard a word from the Drunken Fish. I guess they forgot about us...very disappointing!!! We had Friday night, all day Saturday, and half a day on Sunday to explore St. Louis and ended up spending all day Saturday in our hotel. Bummer to say the least! That's about all I have to say about the Drunken Fish :(

Being in St. Louis last week I found myself relying a ton on Yelp and once again was not dissapointed. Drunken Fish is a sleek and chic'ly decorated place and a nice bar area for people like me, eating alone. The first thing to take note of here is at first glance the rolls look really expensive but thankfully I saw someone else's plate of food come out and realized that the rolls here are nearly twice the size of a normal sushi place. So keep that in mind and realize you probably only need two rolls. Service was great and the delivery of food was prompt and without fail.

I think people that rate this lower than Wasabi have only ever had St. Louis sushi and don't venture out much. This place is great. Yes it is a bit more pretentious and pricey but the food is better. I usually order the White Dragon, Wonder Woman and occasionally the sashimi platter. All so good. Something that you must order that is life changing are the lobster spring rolls. If I am ever having a bad day I think about those roles and tears of joy stream down my face and then turn into butterflies to spread the good word of these rolls. They are so good.

First time in the StL to visit a friend and we went here to grab some drinks. HUZZAH FOR HAPPY HOUR!! first time i had asahi in a while, and bf & i split the large bottle. $8 for 22 oz. ice cold and oh so refreshing. too bad it wasn't included for happy hour. =( had the sizzling snapper appetizer and got so excited everytime the bartender brought it out that she let me pour the olive oil on myself!! huzzah #2! (do dip it in your soysauce...don't know if the hot olive oil makes the fish more bland, but it was. still good tho!) also had the fried cheese steak roll & spider roll. fried cheese steak was DELICIOUS!! whoever thought of it is a freaking genius! it was crispy, it was cheesy, and it was the perfect blend of meaty! def try it if you're a fan of cheese steak anything! spider roll wasn't very special, which left me a bit disappointed. it was just a plain ol spider roll. nothing about it really stood out flavor-wise. all in all, an excellent happy hour menu = excellent value. the place could definitely use more seating upstairs, however, and for that, it gets 4 stars.

We went to this Drunken Fish location with a couple we have been trying to meet up with for a while. I arrived with high hopes and equally high expectations. Alas...it didn't last. We were seated by a nice gentleman. It was a nice booth, kinda secluded in the very back. That may have been half the issue. Our service was painfully slow, I mean PAINFULLY SLOW! It took 20 min for our drink order, another 10 for the appetizer order and an hour for a total of 8 rolls of sushi to arrive. We had sat for over an hour and a half before we got the main course. We ordered Riesling, and there was none in the entire house. The guy we were with ordered a drink, and was never asked for another one. I ordered a diet soda, and I had to keep asking for him to refill it, and two times I had to ask him to bring it back after he took the glass. (The glasses are tiny, larger glasses may have helped) Overall, this was a pretty terrible experience. It's hard to fork out $100 for two people when the service was so lacking. We were going to speak with the manager, but the server spearheaded that by saying the manager was waiting tables and they were improperly staffed. I hate to say it, but that doesn't make the situation any better. I expect McDonald's to have staffing issues, I even expect Denny's to have the same issues, but not an upscale sushi restaurant. Food was delightful, service killed the experience. We will absolutely not come back here. If you read my reviews, I do not like giving one star ratings, I can usually find enough to balance it out to at least two or three stars, but with the Drunken Fish, this was not the case.

On another business trip this time in St Louis and came across this cool spot near the Arch. Happy hour is awesome at this place. Although it's a little pricey, the food is good. I felt the sushi rolls were just ok but the other dishes for HH are delicious. What I liked most about this place was the exceptional and friendly service. Top rating for our waitress who was attentive and helpful. The location near the water and the atmosphere are also pluses. If you're in that area, try the sizzling sashimi.

Let me start by saying I live on the beach in Socal and have been an avid fisherman my whole life. I know my fish/sushi. I was in St. Louis on business the whole week and hadn't had time to get out at all. I decided that I wanted to go down to the Landing and looked for a good place to eat. Well, I found it. I have never eaten sushi this far from a coast (snob?, well maybe) but I had a "hankerin" as they say for sushi, so I popped in to check it out. Well, the service was great and the sushi even better! Alyssa is the greatest, as others have posted before me. The fish is very fresh and the sushi choices had some great, unique variations that make your taste buds wake up and say WOW! I actually ordered more until I was totally stuffed full. NO!, They did not pay me nor buy my dinner to write this review. I highly recommend the Drunken Fish for your sushi fix!

As a St. Louis native, I have pretty much scoped out most of the local sushi restaurant scene. Drunken Fish is the one I most frequent. The ambiance is trendy and classy. The service is impeccable and the sushi, oh gawd, the sushi.... The Drunken Fish roll is unsurprisingly fantastic. But because of my uncontrollable craving of anything that is deep fried, my favorite's the Crispy Roll.I must implore you folks to order it, you won't regret it! Tip for the Ladies: when you're on a date, shoving a hunk of sushi in your mouth can be unattractive. Ask your server to cut your rolls and sushi into smaller pieces so that you can eat AND laugh without looking like a chipmunk.

The atmosphere is very trendy and upscale, the location is great on the Landing where it's very walkable if you live in the downtown or area or are there for business, and the quality of the sushi is comparable to a place found on either coast of the country where the rolls taste fresh. My only complaint is that the service is a hit or miss with either a attendant who is coming by too much or barely at all.

Service was excellent! Sushi was great. I was a little leary at first because there had been some recent bad reviews. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Definitely try the philly steak roll!

I have been to two locations of the Drunken Fish and I loved them both. I have not experienced what some have who have left lesser stars, though the second time I came it was 45 minutes before closing and the staff was slightly irritated that we were coming in. (I get it--I've worked in many restaurants, but it was 45 minutes, not 5, before closing time.) There are some pretty inventive fusion-type options that I have tried and liked, as well as a couple different soups. Drinks are fairly cheap (heavy on the AB products, of course) and I felt both visits were an overall good value.

Surprised I haven't written a review for this place yet as often as I go. I'm kind of obsessed with the lunch special here - two or three rolls, plus miso soup or salad. Not all rolls are included (the larger "specialty" rolls are not) but there's more than enough to choose from. I usually just get California Rolls, and they're delish. The miso soup is flavorful (and HOT!) and the rolls are a good size - not too large, not too small, perfect for lunch. A colleague I dine with often says great things about the salad, and the Oriental dressing in particular. The manager is always around and comes by to check on things personally - a nice touch. And I see him do this for all guests, not just the regulars, which says something about the place. Decor is great; parking is a public lot across the street, and it's $1 for every 30 mins, so I usually spend $2 to park. Not a big deal given that the lunch special is so reasonable, but free or validated parking would be nice. Also - not sure why this only happens on Fridays - but a few times they've come around with egg rolls and such as samples. It may just be that I go more on Fridays and thus notice it then. In any case, it's a nice little treat. (And the egg rolls are quite good...) One of my favorite lunch spots in STL. I'm pretty picky about sushi having moved here from San Francisco... typically I am not a fan of sushi in any land-locked state. But I love this place. PS - they have a lot more going on at night here, too, apparently... but I've never been to this DF location for anything but lunch.

I was in the area on business and not expecting much in the way of decent food. I found the restaurant on the iDine web site, and it sounded worth a try. I started with a mango salad, which was packed with delicious and fresh lettuces. The mango slices were ripe and creamy, adding a nice touch. I had a side of grilled asparagus, which was pleasant but a bit oily for my preferences. I had the Menage a Trois as my main course. This is three pieces each of three kinds of sashimi: tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. The fish was fresh and smooth, very nice. For dessert I had the mango mochi ice cream (I was really torn between it and the green tea). This is a nice-sized dessert, not too big. The mochi is cut into quarters, and topped with aerosol whipped cream. The ice cream is rich and tasty. I was quite pleased with the restaurant and would gladly return. As a suggestion for improvement, I'd recommend they add loose-leaf green tea (classic sencha or traditional after-dinner hoji-cha or maybe the ever-popular genmai-cha). Another suggestion is to offer brown rice, which is much healthier and very flavorful when cooked properly.

Madame Butterfly martini = superb! Lobster Spring rolls = amazing! The honey wasabi sauce that accompanies it is so delicious- I keep it for my maki rolls!

Great contrast: open a very tall 19th-Century door and wind up in a 21st-Century sushi bar with sleek decor. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Sushi was nice. The lobster spring roll was tasty. They have lunch specials. A nice experience.

I'm in St. Louis every week, and I've been making my way through restaurants left and right. I am aware that Italian food here is top notch, and there are steakhouses galore that I still need to try. However, I was really needing some sushi sustenance so I, accompanied by five colleagues ventured out to the Drunken Fish. It was good. I got what I came for. It was not stellar, I will likely try Mizu or some other place, in search of my sushi haven while in the 'Lou. Highlights: The lobster spring roll was FANTASTIC. Very delicious, spicy sauce. Their sauvignon blanc by the glass was also very tasty and refreshing. I had the Tuna Tataki, which was alright, not stellar, and shared the White Tiger roll with a friend. It was also just alright. Usually when I share maki with a friend, I end up eating my entire share of the rolls and some of his/hers. There was definitely White Tiger left on the plate and I was ok letting it go to uneaten. Extra points for the host being nice to us when we cut our reservation down by three people upon arriving. The staff is very polite and efficient.

I've been to all three (downtown, westport, and CWE) locations and they're all about the same. Atmosphere is very coool. Dark, good music, trendy. This might be to cover up their horrible quality of fish. They also use the method of deep frying, and layers and layers of fatty sauce to cover up the taste of their fish. Their sushi rice was too hard and vinegary/sour (how do you mess up sushi rice at a sushi restaurant??) Definitely overpriced, even if the fish was of decent quality. Skip this chain. Drinks are ok though.

  • Dotty R.

Okay, I've reviewed my bad experience at the Westport location; reviewed the CWE - my FAV. But I'm thinking that the Laclede's Landing location got my FAV beat! You know, as I walk in the area, I've passed up this place and went someplace else because on the outside it appears to be small and cramped. NO!!!! Vince, me, and some friends of ours came here after leaving the International Soccer game at Busch Stadium and I got an email from Drunken Fish about the special here for the day d/t the soccer and Cards/Cubs game. So because I like "discounts", lol we were all in. If I Yelp a check-in, I got free Sake shots or something else, which we went for the Sake shots. GOOD! Our waitress, Alyssa I believe, was great and so helpful. She was the reason we picked Sake over the other thing. LOL. She was accommodating and quick. The place was so big inside. Nice, clean and just a good atmosphere. I was shocked! The food - OMG - okay, I've eaten at the other two, but it was good, hot and fresh. Sushi fresh, calamari hot and fresh as well. The drinks were even good and the manager (I think that was who he said he was, heck, too many drinks and "Mr. Miyagi's..." LOL) came over and asked us how we were doing and if things were okay. Yeah, a lot of places does this, but the guy was actually sincere about knowing. I'm so down for ya'll right now Drunken Fish.....I'm impressed. LOL.

Best sushi happy hour in a almost too trendy place for Laclede's Landing. The absract design, side walk cafe, martini bar and sushi brings in hipsters and suits from downtown making this the "cool happy hour" for metrolink riders. (Maybe more of a diverse crowd than some can handle) The first time I walked in here I thought this is what $ can do to the old warehouse district. I have been back many times, but usually for the happy hour without the DJs and crowds like late on the weekends.

Probably one of the worst dining experiences to date. Went to dinner with a large group (8 people) during restaurant week. Service at the beginning was fine, I got the lobster spring roll which was a good portion size and the wasabi dipping sauce was delicious. Then we were waiting for our sushi rolls for almost an hour. The manager did offer us complimentary edamane but when we asked the waitress, she informed us that there was only 1 sushi chef for the whole night! We went on a tuesday night so the restaurant was not even close to being busy and it still took them forever to get us our sushi. After our sushi came, we ordered dessert which was on the restaurant week menu but then the manager told us that they did not have enough dessert so we could choose any dessert off the menu. The restaurant was not busy at all and we had made our reservations a month an advance so they should have been prepared by our large party. By that time, we had been there for almost 3 hours so we just wanted to take our food home so we ordered their cheesecake. Then came even more waiting to get our dessert and so we finally had to go find the manager and tell him pack up our dessert and give us our bills. Then the bills came and they had priced it to the original pricing of the food, not the restaurant week prices. So we had to talk to the manager again to change the bill to the correct amount. Not to mention this whole time, the waitress never refilled our water so by the end of the night we had just grabbed a nearby water pitcher and were serving ourselves. Horrible service, will never go again.

I am still something of a sushi noob, but snagged myself a Groupon deal for this spot before coming to St Louis on travel as they have a location that was in walking distance of my hotel. Although most people don't think midwest = sushi, I really enjoyed it! I had the starburst roll (as I tend to opt for whatever spicy + tempura shrimp roll is on the menu), a fujito, and the green tea ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious, and the wait staff and management even made recommendations on other rolls I should try considering my preferences. I was delighted that they were so friendly and attentive, despite my using a coupon. The service really is top notch. If I were a local, I'd probably eat here at least once a week- especially if I could take advantage of the lunch special I've read about! I still have to find myself a local sushi spot at home, but anytime I'm in St Louis I'll be sure to stop in here. I still want to try the White Tiger Roll they recommended!

What's not to like anything in Laclede's Landing? The Drunken Fish is a very trendy and spacious eatery that has just about every type of seating arrangement one could want. Secluded tables, open tables, cozy booths and TWO bars. The menu was what you'd expect with a couple of more unique options such as a "Surf and Turf" -steak and lobster, and a couple of nice dessert options as well. I had the "Sashimi Supreme"; tuna, salmon, escolar and a couple of others but all the fish was noticeably below par in freshness. Maybe Monday was a bad day. A great place for a date or a business dinner, The Drunken Fish is a very visually appealing sushi spot!

Found this place through Yelp while traveling to St. Louis for business. Despite Yelp saying they were closed on the Thursday night in question, I called for directions and found a true gem of a restaurant. My favorite sushi place in St. Louis, bar none. The Central West End location is the same to me as well. The prices are pretty crazy but the portions and service make it all worth it in my opinion. I keep coming back and keep loving it more and more.

Best sushi in years. Service was impeccable. Skip the bonsai soup (glorified miso) in favor of calamari and potstickers. Favorite rolls: tiger, followed by crunchy, drunken fish (asparagus in roll took a little getting used to). Call for reservation. Leave room for the cheesecake roll.

if not for SOMETHING (smells) FISHY in SANTA BARBARA, probably the dumbest name for a sushi place i can imagine. not entirely comfortable with the vibe -- one of those places (like W in SAN FRANCISCO) with a wait staff that's way too cool for school. sorry but a black t-shirt, black jeans, a stupid hair cut and an aloof demeaner does not make you the love child of JAMES DEAN and ELVIS. i tried the WHITE TIGER, DRUNKEN FISH and DRAGON rolls and some sashimi. food was pretty but the flavors didn't come together particularly well. struck me that their food's more about keeping up appearances than good tastes. given the attitude i guess that's not surprising. fish really didn't seem particularly fresh. i guess if you drink enough SAKETINIs (i didn't) you can keep that fish company in the drunk tank while you sober up ...

I always love Drunken Fish and on the last visit there was an issue with the service, not entirely due to DF. I was using a Groupon (like a moron) on the day it expired. I know I am partly to blame for this, but this has been an issue with a lot of places that use Groupon, they should have accounted for fools like me that procrastinate. Again, my fault for going on the last day, but they need to also staff accordingly for the last day of the promotion.

The Drunken Fish is the kind of restaurant you hear people rave about that only get into the city for Cardinals games. It is one of those places that might be great in Jefferson County or St. Charles, but really doesn't stand up to other competition in the city. I found their sushi expensive and under portioned, and their ambiance bizarre. We were sat right next to a speaker seriously like a foot behind us. I couldn't talk to the person I was with. The service was very attentive and was a high point. They had signs in various places talking about a dress code as well. I think that's a really strange precedent in a restaurant and kind of makes people feel unwelcome and like it's a priveledge to eat there, even if you are dressed up. If a restaurant wants a certain clientele, they should do things that encourage the higher end customers while discouraging the lower end ones, not make explicit rules. Anyway, the sushi was very small and underwhelming. For my money I will take the relative lack of pretension and better environment, food, etc at SubZero any day. Update: So my girlfriend and I got some coupons from The Drunken Fish's marketing department, and we decided to give the restaurant another try, this time going to the less pretentious Laclede's Landing location. The person in charge of the marketing was actually in the restaurant and came over and apologized to us for the bad experience we had before. At this location, our server, Sara, was fantastic. She gave us some awesome wine recommendations and the pours were very generous. All in all, this last experience was one of the best experiences I've ever had out. I understand that sometimes, in the restaurant industry, things happen and your customers don't have the experience you wish they'd had. Drunken Fish really rebounded with us and gave us a good experience.

Not Good! We sat at the sushi Bar, uncomfortable! The Sushi Chefs are not friendly at all. No personality, not even Japanese..... Mexican indian???? The Tempura was Grease soaked with bad oil.. Old or something. Sushi was fair. The Waiter was very nice, he gets the one star...... He said no one ever sits at the Sushi Bar.... Now I know why. Will not go back.......

I ordered to-go food from here. Unfortunately they don't validate for to-go orders so if you want to park in the adjacent lots its $5, even though you will only be there for 2 minutes. I parked a few blocks up the hill for free. Very nice and modern inside with many private booths. Good service, decent food.

I ordered the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls which came with either soup or salad during lunch. All of this was $10.50 which is an amazing deal! Too bad the sushi sucked. I was super disappointed because the ambiance and service were fantastic, but none of this matters if the food is not good. If you're out near the St. Louis riverfront, skip this place and go somewhere else.

I know you can't tell by looking at me but I'm from Japan where I have been force fed freshly caught sushi since I was a toddler - so I KNOW Sushi. Wait.... actually I'm from the midwest which means I am not allowed to have an opinion on sushi, fashion, art, or culture. Well I may not be from Yokohama, or LA, but I have been around the block a few times, so to speak. Drunken Fish has good, but not great sushi. The place is super chic, the menu is expansive, and the service is great. It's a a great alternative to some of the...let's say less classier venues on the landing. And the drink selection kicks ass and you won't spend a ton of money. Sounds good, right? I think so. My tiger roll was excellent and filling. The non-sushi-eating girlfriend found some stuff she liked too. On the flipside, it took a while to bring out our entrees despite it not being all that crowded. There are a ton of sushi places in town, and yes I imagine most of them probably suck. But the Drunken Fish doesn't suck at all. It's not out of this world amazing, but it is damn good. So yes we can have good sushi right here in the midwest. Poke around a little bit and you may even discover that we know a thing or two about culture and art as well. I'll just remain silent about the fashion.

So I have just finished another glutenous outing with a large group of team members and I'm kinda shocked at the 2.5 star rating. We ate our butts off and just about everything was good. We arrived just in time for the happy hour prices for drinks and appetizers, which you could only order at the bar for some reason. No biggie...we'll walk over, get our drinks, and come back to the table. I had 2 Saketini's which I was really feeling by drink and a half, so I was happy when the food finally arrived. So there were a host of rolls ordered and everything was really good - except for the hand roll spicy tuna which no one seamed to like. My faves hands down: Spicy Eskimo -- Kamikaze Roll -- Fried Cheesesteak Roll (yes, it was really good, sooo not healthy!) -- Tuna Tataki....its not a roll, but seared tuna, so good! Dessert consisted of an array of fried strawberry cheesecake rolls (yum), fried green tea ice cream (I did not like at all) and just vanilla ice cream with whipped cream (didn't try). For a table of 9, the waitress was very attentive and sweet. It was a little odd she started to wipe the tables down with this really wet washcloth that left our table damp, EWWW OCD flashback, so we took that as our queue to leave.

The service was outstanding. Our server was perfectly there when we needed her, and not there when we didn't and no awkward "how is everything?" when you have food in your mouth. Excellent service. The environment/atmosphere was good. The food.... not so much. It wasn't bad, but I would just equate it to being similar to grocery store sushi (maki rolls). The sashimi, which I love sashimi, was not too good either - the white tuna, which should be like butter texture was stringy and chewy. The salmon was as well. The yellow tail was softer but smelt funny (it was fine, did not get sick). My fiance, who does not like sushi, had a cooked entree. Once again, it was fine, but not anything that he remembers as being good or would want to go back for me. We also ordered potstickers, a favorite of both of ours - those were just bad. Would definitely not got those here. All in all, service was excellent, but the food ... I'll just go to the grocery store to fullfill my sushi cravings over coming here.

I eat here almost once a week for lunch. Great food, great service, awesome atmosphere. They also have a good rewards program where every time you go, you can get your card stamped toward a free meal. The lunch special is fantastic - two or three rolls and soup or salad. Parking is a breeze since there's a lot across the street and only typically costs about $2 for an hour. I've had the lettuce wraps (delish!) and a few of the rolls: spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, spicy calamari and they're all very very good. And I LOVE their miso soup. Wait staff is friendly and personable and the manager typically walks around, meeting and greeting people.

This is a fun place to get drinks but I'm not crazy about the sushi.

Not that great for service. Place was empty which reflects the service and attention the patrons receive.

I am a big fan of this place, but there are a few drawbacks. The sushi is excellent (at least my family thinks so!) but you will pay for parking because they do not validate. Also, on weekends you will very likely wait as they really get a line. I do recommend their Drunken Fish rewards card if you eat there often and I also recommend you get on their email list. Service and food are almost always excellent. You MUST try the strawberry cheesecake dessert, it is to die for!

My friends and I have eaten here many times and the experience has always been hit or miss. The last two times Ive went its been a miss... I dined here last night with two friends of mine. The waitress was stand offish and pretty much absent the entire meal. The food took forever to arrive which has been pretty standard lately and the checks took even longer. The last time I ate there before that I was with a party of 25 women for a bachelorette party. We had reserved our table ahead of time and they should have been prepared for the rush. They had ONE server waiting on all 25 of us. Poor girl. She did pretty well considering her work load and she was very nice. The food took a little over an hour to get there after we ordered and only half the table got theirs. The other half waited another 20 minutes and by then the first half was done eating. A couple friends who ordered chicken terriyaki bowls found their food to be cold and had to send it back. The hostess also informed my friend (the bride) that if all of us were not there within 15 minutes of the reservation that part of the table would be taken away to be used for other diners, which I thought was rude. The food is sometimes good, but not consistent enought to warrant the price they charge.

My Girlfriend and I were out the other day and decided we wanted Sushi for lunch, so it was Drunken Fish for us. We were greeted and promptly seated, our waiter was attentive and courteous... we had Red Snapper Carpaccio, Tuna Miyagi and Yellowtail Mexicano and that was just for starters...We ordered rolls (Crispy, Spiderman and Starburst) they were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I love this place.

I love this place! It is the best sushi place I have ever been to and was the highlight of our trip to St. Louis. The fried rice was delicious and the drinks were yummy. I liked the bar atmosphere and the vibe was hip. I couldn't see myself returning to St. Louis, but if I were passing through, I would make sure to eat there!

Philly roll was not good and a lady had a huge rabbit on a table drinking out of the same bowl future customers will eat out of.

Ah No! This place is not good! There are far better places with GREAT sushi in STL. Hey DF, stick to playing music...leave the Sushi to others.

Ok, i've had co-workers rave about this place- but if you are from anywhere near either coast- this place is AWFUL. Worst sushi i have ever had- stuff from trader joe's is better (not joking). If you're from STL- you're probably fine with this place, but next vacation you take out to the West or East coast- go get real sushi and you'll see what this place is horrible.

The Drunken Fish is ok as long as you are not ordering the sushi. The drinks are good, and the edamame is tasty. If you want something more substantial, make sure you stick with items that have been cooked, because their sushi never smells right. I really like their fried lobster, and the price isn't too bad when you consider it is lobster that you are eating. I also feel comfortable recommending the chicken fried rice, as that will likely be something that everyone will enjoy. The building and the ambiance are wonderful, and the servers are always nice.

So I finally broke down and went to The Drunken Fish on the Landing. I was expecting what I got. I was expecting it to be like The Drunken Fish in the Central West End, but this times, this one is geared a little bit more to the bar scene. Yup, it was. Now, that's not a bad thing because I do enjoy my drinking just as much as the next alcoholic in denial or rather social drinker, so it was fun. The menu is the same, so I ordered what I knew. The main difference is the atmosphere. There is nothing wrong with atmosphere either. In this one it is in the old riverfront buildings so it has that nice early industrial loft feeling going on. There is a whole lot of exposed brickwork, something that I have always enjoyed seeing. It gives a place a since of warmth if done right. If not, then there is a feeling of bitter coldness from the building to the establishment that is currently inside of it. This place has the warm feeling. The night I went they had karaoke so that was a lot of fun to watch and listen too. I have not ever seen that at the other one. It was nice surprise to see. I'll have to remember that the next time I make my way down there so that I could perform some Rod Stewart. The Drunken Fish on The Landing is a nice place to go. It is just as much similar to the other ones but just as much different from them as well. If you go there to eat and drink there will be the familiar feeling of having been there before if you haven't, but also the new experience of going someplace different.

Very nice ambiance. Sushi was fresh & tasty. Love the Ying & Yang plates. Had the white tiger roll which was very good. Others were nice fresh well rolled fish.

I almost NEVER put 1 star rating, but this is the 2nd one and guess what?! Another DRUNKEN FISH!!! First I stepped in, I was like "Oh, this place is packed and there is a live DJ who is not playing music too loud like the other Drunken Fish, cool". Anyhow, it was our new friends get together, and the hostess sat us in a booth with walls surrounded us, so I really liked that we have a privacy space. So far so good, huh? Here comes the reason for 1 star. Say, if we are a group of 8, you can not bring 6 ppl's food first and bring other 2 ppls' food 20 mins later. Obviously, it's a party and we want to eat, drink, share, and chat at the same time! 6 ppl felt bad for other 2 ppl not having any food infront of them and it created an awkward atmosphere. When 6 ppl finished eating, 2 ppl just started eating. GREAT,,,,,..... Thanks. I think they charge enough price to hire enough ppl in the kitchen and more waiters. "Saturday night" is not an excuse. We paid SO MUCH for an appetizer amount of Sushi. Can we at least get some service here? Especially when you are with your new friends,,,, we just want to have a good time with good food. By the way, Their Sushi isn't good at all. SO NOT WORTH IT. Go somewhere else for food and service. After paying SO MUCH, I was still hungry like I never ate.

Went late on a Saturday, to go to a party upstairs. Ended up getting in free, since the girl thought we had paid before, as we had walked in to eat first then party, but the kitchen was closed. Great Atmosphere, although there were too many people to move around and enjoy yourself.

Rolls are ok, teriyaki steak is tough and fatty. Sashimi was thin slices instead of the pieces I was expecting. Trendy and pricey. Not much else to say.

I didn't eat any of the food, but had a pineapple and malibu, it was eh. I did eat a whole bunch of Cherries when the bartender wasn't around. That was fabulous. My sister did enjoy her martini quite a lot. It wasn't busy when we were there, and was a great environment to strike up conversations and just get lost in them.

We just had sushi, and it seemed like all of the rolls were over done. I sensed an onslaught of ingredients to hide only so-so fish. Our service was fine, as was the sake.

love the food here...nice staff...prices seemed good for the landing and sushi...we spent 80 for three people including lots of drinks and rolls

I give this one star simply because the fried bananas are AMAZING. The sushi does not taste fresh at all and the service is quite poor. I understand it is a very busy restaurant but I expected a lot more!! I've given drunken fish 5 chances (i like their happy hour specials) but each time i realize that there are better sushi options in st. louis.

Mediocre fish, extravagant prices, and an amateur hipster environment. My last visit was shared with a healthy population of fruit flies. At least the building has character.
