Solid Chinese buffet selection. You'll find those things you've come to expect. Would have liked to see some seafood featured Came here during 'lunch' hours on a Sunday. Food was hot, refreshed often, and generally well prepared. Nothing fancy, but appears maintained and clean. A group of six ate from the buffet, with some drinks, for $45. Good food, great price, hard combination to beat.

Decided to stop in for lunch one weekend while in South County, and I have to say that I will not make the same mistake twice. First off the location of China Buffett is awful, located off Lemay Ferry and behind several stores on Lindbergh you will find a Kmart with a nearly abandon strip mall with several scattered stores, China Buffet is one of them. Once we walked in the hostess immediately saw two of us and stared walking to a table hardly giving us a chance to get in the door. However once we were at our table she took our drink order and we were off to the buffet. Selection here is fair, however the food was average at best. Some of the honey chicken was really tough and the crab/cheese Rangoon were rather poor quality. Overall I wouldn't recommend this I will say that after sitting down and eating I noticed that the ceiling was rather dirty and imagine that the entire place could use a good scrubbing. Price was fair and for two people the bill was only $17.50. Wasn't the worst experience, however it was hardly worthy of a 3 star rating.

Hole in the wall, but great. It's smaller selections but great on what they chose. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is due to the fact, if you're not there at a prime lunch or dinner time the foods not as good. It's cold and over cooked. But if you can make it by noon - 1:30 it's good!

Not that good, fairly cheap. To many better buffets closer. I don't think I'll be back

Solid Chinese Buffett! Great options, everything was hot and fresh! It has the "staples" of General Tso, Sweet and Sour, Beef and Broccoli etc. Its certainly dated, but I don't go to buffetts for the decor, I go to eat my face off. Mission- accomplished.

Not a fancy place, but we like the service there. We bring our 2 year old all the time who loves the food. They are always very sweet to him. We love the value and there is always something good to eat. We both ate for $6.95 on Saturday for lunch. What more can I say.

Lunch Buffet $5.49, Supper Buffet $8.49. Don't forget to add the $2 drinks (soda/tea) and the tip. Your basic Chinese Buffet food, nothing special - but nothing bad either. To chow down on the Roasted Chicken on a stick is my fave here... I could eat 30 of them easily! That's right chinese owners - it says "ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!" HA!

I have been here a few times with my husband who is a Saint Louis native. He has been here many times before we met as well. We were here most recently this past Sunday. We no longer live in Saint Louis and were passing through. Money was tight and our other option was Taco Bell which didn't sound too good. I am glad he had the idea to stop here. There aren't as many options for me on the buffet being vegan, but my husband's food looked pretty good. I'm sure some of the stuff I had might have had dairy in it, but I was starving. The string beans were really good. Everything else was a little greasy, but hit the spot. The breaded zucchini looked really good, but was a little soggy. Most of the food looked fresh & hot though. They seemed to be putting quite a few fresh trays out. We were here about two in the afternoon. We had been here for dinner once and some of the items seemed to have been sitting for quite awhile, but I guess they don't replenish the trays as much near closing time. I had two small plates of food and was pretty full. Too bad we had to get back on the road and couldn't take a nap. I did not have any, but noticed they have some sort of macaroni and cheese on the buffet and ice cream cones. I think it's a little strange. Too bad they don't have vegetable spring rolls or some sort of bean curd dish on the buffet. That would be awesome! Other than the food being average, I wish the place was cleaner. Our table wasn't terribly clean. The ceiling is stained badly and the restroom was awful. The first stall was really dirty with an unflushed toilet (yeah, just what you want to hear about in a restaurant review, eh?) I went in the middle stall and about fell in. I didn't notice the seat was completely detached when I was putting a layer of paper on it. So, the place needs to be hosed down & probably remodeled, but it was a good option that day. If we had more money & time, I am sure we would have gone somewhere better. China Buffet was better than grabbing fast food & we had a good time reminiscing about old times while being back in South County. And I do like the big kind of cheesy lit up painting on the back wall where the smoking section used to be.

My usual go to Chinese buffet. The Food is good and usually consistent. The price isn't to bad either. It is a little dingy like most older chinese buffets.

I love this place. The food is great and the staff is friendly. And it's not hard on the wallet. Its a great place for an occasional lunch. The only thing I would like to see is for it to be cleaner. The ceiling looks rather dirty along with the restrooms.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
