I don't think I've given any 1 star reviews before, but this place would have to improve dramatically to earn the one star I gave it. I took my family to eat at the Raymore Ryan's yesterday. When we ordered at the register the lady running the register overcharged us. I brought it to her attention and she seemed annoyed and got defensive. She argued for some time before bringing her manager over who quickly got it straightened out. We looked for quite a while for a clean table and even though it wasn't that busy, all of the tables were dirty. We sat down at a dirty table and waited 10 minutes for a waitress to get our drinks and clean the table before getting tired of waiting going to get some food anyway. We hoped maybe she'd get the drinks while we were gone. The food didn't look very appetizing, and didn't taste good. Everything was room temperature which should have been one more red flag, but I didn't want to walk out. We picked at some of it, but no one wanted to eat cold food on a dirty table. Still no drinks after we were ready to leave. I spoke to one of the managers, and though I wasn't expecting much in the way of a solution, I was surprised when he politely told me the best complaint was taking my business elsewhere. I don't have very high expectations for buffets, because they're buffets. We went at 12:30 on a weekday and the food tasted like it had been there since the day before. The tables were dirty, the plastic plates looked about 10 years old. The whole experience was just gross.

They have improved the last few times we visited. Service and food are much better than they used to be. Love the grill service right to the table.

This place has really stepped their game up. When "Gross Corral" opened, Ryans was not showing they cared about competing. Place wasn't that good. Chose not to go back. Went back about 8 months later and we were surprised! Food had flavor, staff was friendly. We now go back a few times a month.

When we lived closer, my husband and I would go for lunch fairly often and found the price very resonable until they were raised over a year ago. We are not impressed anymore about the value of the lunch, since the decor, cleanliness and total disrepair are below average. The entire place needs an update and renovation The restroom always smells horrible and the food choices need revamping. With some major improvements, Ryans could be back in the game someday.

I personally would be fine if I never saw or heard of Ryan's. It's disgusting to go to a restaurant with the intention of overeating and when you look at the people who frequent these types of buffets it's no wonder obesity is an epidemic around here. However, coming from a family of hillbillies (I mean that as a term of endearment) it is impossible to avoid eating here on occasion. To me, all the food tastes the same...it's just greasy slop. The restrooms are the worst I've ever seen in a restaurant, truly horrible. We learned long ago to relieve ourselves beforehand or stop somewhere before arriving. I do enjoy myself here but that's only because I'm with family. Otherwise, I would never step foot in the place.

This Ryans has actually improved a lot. The food is well seasoned and tasty if you like southern style cooking. It is not gourmet but it is a fun place to take a variety of people. I like their whole catfish. You don't see that often. Their desserts are also pretty good. They don't have the same variety as the Golden Corral across the street but I think the food tastes better.

This place is so dirty and the smell is horrible. I have been here twice in the past few years and will not go back again. It is defiantly outdated and needs improvements and upgrades. If your a fan of buffets and this place specifically hate to tell you this but the brand new buffets they are opening across the street Golden Corral is going to capitalize and put them out of business.

Ughh... I really want to like this place, but.... not a good selection at the salad bar, typical buffet food otherwise. Carpet is extremely dirty, place just seems dingy to me. Price is high, and on a couple different occasions, I had bad service from the employees. My family no longer goes here anymore. They really need to update the inside of the building and get some incentive for the employees to be a little happier. Really can't say anything bad about the fresh hot rolls though!

My family and I go to Ryan's quite a bit mainly because my daughter loves the place. If you happen to catch Ryan's when the food is coming out it really isn't too bad. It is probably been a mixed experience all the times that I've been to Ryan's. Sometimes the service is great while other times it is beyond horrible. They have a pretty good selection for the price. The inside isn't that great and is often dirty. I'll keep going a couple times a month unless the service completely falls apart.

I ate here for lunch today - bad choice. I offered to take a business partner out for lunch to an establishment of his choice and this guy chose RYANS... I'd never been before and I wasn't expecting much but I'll tell you what - watered down macaroni, hard chicken, soggy carrots, old desert you get the idea. On top of that your rubbing shoulders with cheap buffet type people. I LOVE people from all walks of life don't get me wrong, but there is a type of person that frequents 5 dollar buffets and when around them I feel uncomfortable. I was staring hopelessly at a tray of pasta shamefully about to take a spoonful of it and the buffet-frequenter lady next to me said "oh thats my favorite I get it every time I come here." I swear I thought I was in a saturday night live skit. Anyways thank God for my blackberry which allowed me to escape into lala land while my business partner proceeded to tell me how great he was. Side note - My kids would LOVE this place and I remember thinking buffets were God's gift to earth when I was little...
