I so wish this place was in a better location for the business owners sake. I absolutely love great authentic Mexican. This is the place!!!!! Not only is the food amazing but the hospitality from the owners is by far the most humble and grateful I've ever experienced. I have only eaten the Taco de azada but I honestly rank these tacos among the best. The cilantro, onions, and azada are perfectly cut and proportioned perfectly on the tortilla. I will definitely be back to this awesome little hole in the wall. In closing I hope to see this little gem thrive and for more Ozark/Nixa natives come give this place a try. These tacos are Amaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzing.

On my first trip to Taqueria Garcia, I tried to read the menus to decipher what was what, and found that it was a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy... and so on. It was impossible to read, but it was charming. So I offered to help out with the menu design. That is how I came to be Taqueria Garcia's graphic designer. I don't normally do that particular kind of design work (I'm a painter- not a designer), but I love the people there and TG had a particular happy vibe that really inspired me. I've uploaded pictures of the menus, and the hours so people can read it. They do take out, but not delivery as far as I know. There are a thousand little quirky things about Taqueria Garcia that I like. The orange walls are very different, happy and bold, but reflect Wendy Garcia's personality perfectly. There are little metal flowers around on the walls, and only a few tables so you have to get there while the getting is good or order it as take out. Wendy serves her (very fresh) salsa from a coffee pot. It is a strange sight to behold indeed, yet another cute little quirk. The chips are the good kind too. Crispy, crunchy but somewhat thin so you don't get too full on chips before you get your food. Since I visit TG every time the menus or signs need changing, I have ended up trying a lot of the menu. All of it is incredibly authentic and fresh. My personal favorites are the Burrito Asada and the Cubana Torta. So much food for so little money, and it's so delicious. Seriously- next time you get a craving for a good sandwich, try the Tortas. They're served on this giant round piece of bread and they are absolutely packed with veggies, queso and meat. I've never been able to finish one in one single sitting. I am not a fan of cold shrimp, but my father adores the shrimp cocktails there- and I have to say, their shrimp cocktails are just about enough to make me see the light. I also credit Taqueria Garcia for teaching me to love Mexican rice. That was one of those foods that I never really liked until I tried it here. This is how it is meant to taste. Also, if you have never tried Jarittos Soda, I highly recommend it. Why can't they make soda that tastes that good in the US? They tend to have only a few flavors at one time so be sure to ask which ones are available when you visit. If I were to say there's one thing wrong with Taqueria Garcia, it would be that they need to expand and get more space and tables. Right now they're somewhat a well-kept secret, but they seem to be getting more popular these days and it can be hard to get a table.

TORTAS Asada (Steak) is cut into such tiny pieces it's hard to get a feel of teeth tearing through steak which is part of the tactile experience of eating red meat. I've had the TORTAS al pastor before and will order that again with its slightly sweet pineapple marinade of the pork! Buns are homemade and freshly soft on the outside while crispy fried on the inside!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
