The food is great! There is a wide variety of meats and sides. The people who own the place are great and accommodating for their customers. I would definitely recommend this bbq to anyone traveling through or local.

This place had a line to the door so what I'm about to write must mean....1. I'm a BBQ snob 2. It was a bad day, or 3. This is the best they have to offer in Marshall. I had the ribs, brisket, baked beans, and mac -n- cheese. First thought it smelled really good as I was driving home, and I hoped it was as good as it smells. This is where is goes down hill. The ribs were very dry, and some bites were even tough. Seems like they had been setting way too long or over cooked. The flavor was good, but ribs shouldn't be dry or even crunchy. The brisket was much of the same. It was very dry, and although tender, didn't have much taste. It also seemed as if it had been sitting too long. The sauce was not special at all, and was supposed to be spicy. It wasn't. It was good enough to smear on the ribs, and brisket to give it taste. The baked bean and mac-n-cheese were better the average that was probably the highlight. The service and restaurant was very nice and friendly. I hope it was just a bad batch, and I will go back and try it again just too see. But was not impressed by this visit.

I love going to the brick and getting their ribs. Very good. The folks that own the place are nice and come out to say hi to all the customers. Best bbq around. The only problem is their burnt ends are so good they sell out a lot.

Well, I had high hopes. I added this joint to Yelp. In town on a project for work. Marshall is a small sleepy town with not a lot of choices for food. Rode by this place just off the town square and it has the look. Service was friendly and very good. You come in by the counter and order and get a number then they bring it out. Self service on the drinks. They went out of the way to sell me a gallon of iced tea. I tried the St. Louis cut ribs, slice brisket, hand cut fries, and potato salad. Let's just agree that the meats were disappointing in the extreme. First off you don't slice either of these meats until they are ordered. These had been sliced since the day before it seemed. Very dry shall we say. The brisket just wasn't worth putting in your mouth. The ribs had good flavor sometime. Had all the right seasoning but were very dry. I know I came at a bad time of day - 2 pm. After lunch and before dinner. But that can't excuse it all. The fries and toast were very good - better than most. The potato salad was under seasoned but OK. I will try them again and report back. Will come back at a busier time of day. So the meat will be turning. Not expecting much if they server what I got today but there isn't much in Marshall to choose from. Just so you know I am a certified BBQ judge as certified by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. As such judging Q is what I know.

I have traveled all over the USA, as well as Europe and the Caribbean, and have lived in Missouri, the South, and West. I think at this time in my life I know what is good or bad food. This is good BBQ! We have visited this place several times and it is consistent. The meat has great flavor on its own, but is made better with the sauce. We have had the ribs, pulled pork, and beef. The sides taste great as well. The owners are always nice and very friendly, which makes the whole experience even better and worth the visit.

Quality quality quality food. Always at the top of my list for lunch, dinner, or even just grabbing a beer. I've been able to experience this place many times. As a new restaurant in Marshall It is definitely making an impact on the town. Not only by having quality food and super affordable prices, but the owner is consistently putting time and effort into the entire experience of the brick BBQ. Live music, cheap beer, great people working there, and most importantly you can really feel how much they care about each customer. It's a one of a kind place, with a one of a kind experience.
