This review is for float rental only. I float on the Black River at least once a year. There is a number of raft/tube/canoe rental places to choose from. However, Twin Rivers is one of only two that allow you to be out onto the water with an inner tube late in the morning (launch window is between 10 and 11:30 AM on weekends). This is a huge advantage for out-of-towners. Most rental places require you to show up by 9 or 9:30 AM, which defeats the purpose of a "leisure trip" if you are not camping and have a long drive (2 hours for us) to reach the grounds in the morning of your float. For this reason alone, I highly recommend TRL.

We love this place! It is nice to walk out on the river and get in your raft in the morning. You don't have to get on the wild bus ride at the crack of dawn. You only have to ride it when you are on your way home which at that point you don't care. We take the kids down on Sat. for camping then float on Sunday. Much more family friendly. We will always come back!

Some good, some bad and some really ugly!!!!! At first I was so excited that I chose this place to invite my friends for a fun camping and float trip! The bathrooms were in pretty good shape and the campsite we had was very spacious (#86 electric site) Those are the good parts! Then we went floating Sat. 8/23/14 and this is where it goes bad. If my friend wouldn't have asked how we know where to exit the river we would have continued to float right past their exit! The bus driver made no announcement to the passengers so I believe we are the only ones who asked. He told us to look for a HUGE smiley face which really was only the size of a beach ball a little past Bearcats beach. Other Twin Rivers floaters told us we should stop at Bearcat because we had went to far! (so confusing) Finally as we come around that bend in the river we see "the smiley face" and also notice a bus leaving. So we figured we would get out and another bus would arrive soon....and this surely was not the case. There was a guy named Shane there that worked for Twin Rivers along with a young lady but I didn't get her name. They both informed us that there were still a lot of people from Twin Rivers out on the river, which I then informed them they were probably at Bearcat because they were never informed where to exit the river. We continued to wait and wait which quickly turned into 45 minutes of waiting for a bus to pick us up. Finally the bus pulls up and is loaded with people. We get on and I asked everyone were they were picked up and sure enough the whole group just was picked up from Bearcat. By this point I was so aggravated that we were made to wait because they had not informed their customers where to go! We finally get back to Twin Rivers Landing and this is where it got ugly. I went to the office where I met the female owner (she never told me her name). I had the same exact experience with her that Brad G. from the review above had.....she stared at me like I had 5 heads. I explained to her that I was highly upset that my friends and I were forced to wait for a bus that was picking up floaters from another campsite because her staff failed to inform them where to go. She then proceeded to tell me I was wrong that they never pick up from anywhere else. As she feeds me this line the bus driver himself walks into the office and he admits that he had just done so. The only thing she said to me was " Ma'am I can't be everywhere at once". I informed her of the review I am typing today and told her we would never be back. After returning to my campsite, a short time later a man pulls up in a truck and introduces himself as Dave the owner. He proceeds to apologize for the inconvenience and explains that they were short a driver that weekend. Shakes my hand and seemed very apologetic. THIS IS ALL I WANTED THE WHOLE TIME....AN EXPLANATION AND APOLOGY!!!!! So then I felt much better. Until he then "gave me permission" to leave a review...but wanted to make sure I do it accurately...that Shane told him we got off the river at 6:45 and were picked up by 7:20 so I didn't wait 45 min........ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? So sorry I was 10min off......but 35 min is still unacceptable and I don't like being accused of planning to deceive people with my review. Just a future note to anyone willing to give this place a shot....don't dare complain about anything....it will just ruin your mood for the rest of your trip and absolutely nothing will be done to fix the problem or make you feel better about it!!!! I will never return here or recommend it to anyone!!!!!

Filthy cabins infested with bats. Loud group campsites that party until 5 am, notified management the next day and they told us that it's not their responsibility and we're to contact the Sheriff with complaints. The staff is horribly rude and inconsiderate. They not only disrespected my father-in-law, they also disrespected my mother-in-law and sister-in-law after they made these legit complaints. Terrible property. I have a lot of family members whom are campers, and friends whom are campers. This word will spread despite my negative comments being deleted from Facebook.

The whole family (me, hubby, teen and toddler) all went floating/camping this weekend. We chose Twin Rivers due to the more family experience they are going for, my kids do not need to see anyone's business :) We stayed Saturday - pretty peaceful I say! We were on the electric sites and they were so much more quieter then the basic sites. AND it located right on the river, Black River, which was cool and pretty calm. Low in some places and deeper in others. Sunday floats are more families so that was fun! The bathrooms/showers were ok, the store had a lot more things then I thought they would. Lenny's (a liquor/pizza/sub shop) is right next door. There are camping sites right on the river too which looked pretty cool! We might try rivers edge next time, they offer live music!

I'm so sad to say that this place is not the family-friendly clean campground that it once was. I just returned from a family weekend camping trip. We went to give TRL another try (after the past few years it had been going downhill) and their Facebook page made me believe the new owners had turned it around. Well I now know why, it is because they delete every negative review and only leave the positive ones. What kind of business does that? The cabin my family stayed in had a bat infestation and bat feces was all over the porch. The cabin was not clean. But these issues would have been overlooked had the owner been kinder to my mother. My mom went to the front desk to complain about the bat situation, and the owner was incredibly rude to her. My mom told the woman she simply wanted an apology that things weren't as nice as they once were, and the owner just stared at my mom and told her "you are outside. A bear could walk up". My mom is the nicest person in the world and she was treated so disrespectfully. To just stare at a paying customer who is venting over an issue is incredibly inappropriate. My father and I complained about the cleanliness of our cabin, and after leaving the front office/gift store, my sister was still shopping. The staff and owner didn't know she was with us at the time, and were talking bad about us! I have been loyal to TRL for so long and now my family and I must take it upon ourselves to show the world what kind of business this is. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND SUBJECT YOUR FAMILY TO THIS KIND OF BUSINESS. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! I would give this business 0 stars if possible.

Not bad, far from the best. Staff was really friendly, I mean really friendly, it was by far the best part of the campground. Internet wasn't great but not horrible but the sites were not level, and not paved. The pool was filled with unsupervised kids ranging from 3 to 13ish, I guess the 13 year olds were supervising the 3 year olds but they took over the pool and made it hard for anyone else to play. Also as soon as the staff left for the day cars would fly down the roads, other campers would yell at them but it didn't slow anyone down, people kind of use it as a thoroughfare to beat the traffic on the main road. While the staff was there kids would ride around on little dirt bikes unsupervised. Again not a bad place by any stretch had some good parts but not a great place though it could be with a little cleaning and a little more adherence to the rules. I would stay again but only if other places were full, if they cleaned it up and put out a 24 he security guard I would definitely stay again.
