For a moment I thought I was walking into Three Kings down the street. I will have to try this a couple more time to give a fare review. Service was fair nothing great for just opening, nothing fun or exciting about the menu. For now it just seems like another restaurnt nothing special and I love supporting local small restaurants, but I didn't get that vibe from them. I will give it another try or two.

The brisket was good and they had several sauces to choose from. The gumbo was great the first time but this time no rice and tasted like spicy tomato sauce. The lobster wontons and wings were good

Let me start by saying that when we walked in to the restaurant, I was very impressed by the look of it. A lot of TVs and a nice decor but that's the only reason it's worth even one star... There was no hostess at the stand when we arrived and we had to wait for a few minutes before she came running from the back. The excuse, "I was doing dishes." Okay... We then got sat and it took quite a few minutes to get waited on even though it wasn't very busy at the time. When we were served, we ordered a couple beers and then waited a while longer. The waiter came back after 5 minutes or so and told me they ran out of one of the draft beers we had ordered. It happens, we ordered another and all was good. We then began ordering our food and while ordering, we were told that they were out of Brisket (essentially saying half the menu was not available). We decided to order an appetizer of their bbq Cajun shrimp and look over the menu again. The Shrimp came out way too quick for it to actually be fresh and I was not impressed with it at all, it was actually borderline horrible. When the waiter finally returned to take our order, I asked for a sandwich that normally had brisket but asked if I could substitute pork for it. He said, "Well, we are out of sourdough bread too..." This was kind of getting ridiculous at this point. I decided to get the pork platter instead. While ordering my sides, I asked for beans and au gratin potatoes. Before I could finish potatoes, I was told they were out of them too !!! Enough was enough ! We asked for the bill and decided to go somewhere else. The bill was brought to us, no apology and no attempt to make our experience here better. Doubtful I will return any time soon until they can work out some kinks.

This place really does have great potential but they just still haven't reached that yet. I ordered the Mexicali Cobb Salad. The Avocado Ranch dressing was good. But the salad itself wasn't very exciting. Avocados would have been good in it. My friend got the Guacamole Chicken Salad, excited to try this combo. Unfortunately, the "chicken salad" ended up just being a piece of chicken with some guacamole on top. The bun was dry as well. The place had really great atmosphere though, with very nice booths and tables. It has some great menu concepts...it just needs to follow through with them.

I love the atmosphere when you walk into this place; especially since it being in a strip mall along Manchester road makes it less then appealing. However, I had higher expectations despite some of the other less than successful restaurants operated by one if not both of the two owners of Winfield's. My review can only speak to the service and the appetizers. I went here with some coworkers for a quick, unplanned happy hour. They are just getting their happy hour menu together, so I will give them a break on the pricing mistakes on our tabs. We ordered several appetizers to share such as the Guacamole, Spicy Buffalo Chicken dip, the meat & cheese board, the lobster ravioli, and the mushroom flatbread. Rather then going through each appetizer (since most are not worth writing about) I will comment on the best & worst. The appetizers can be summed up as sub par with the spicy buffalo chicken dip being the best choice. The guacamole was less then flavorful and the pico it came with was awful; unless you like the taste of bitting into a raw onion. Our server was friendly, but the service itself was very slow (it took close to 45 minutes from the time we asked for our checks until we walked out the door). These could just be some opening kinks that need to be worked out, but I will surly keep my distance for the next several months at least.

A coworker and I visited this place over the weekend during our lunch break. The hostess was very nice and seated us right away. The restaurant itself is very nice casual/upscale and smells amazing. We both ordered the broccoli beer cheese soup. We needed to order something quick since we did not have much time. We both agreed that the soup was awful!! It wasn't hot at all and had a horrible texture(kind of grainy). I'm not sure if the texture changed due to the temperature of the soup or what exactly happened. Neither one of us are " customers who complain". We figured that we ordered it, Its a new restaurant and maybe this is how the soup is made, and took responsibility for ordering it. We quickly paid for our 2 spoonfuls of soup each and left. Since the staff was VERY friendly and welcoming we will go back to try something else. I hope that the rest of the menu is tasty. Its such a convient location for lunch since we work less than 5 minutes from the restaurant.

Went to Winfields on Friday Night and this was the place to be! We ordered appetizers (wings, guacamole, and the sausage plate). The group had all sorts of dinners (bbq, flatbread, ribs, pasta). We all agreed, their wings are the very best that St. Louis has to offer. For dinner, it was a toss up between the ribs, brisket and the pasta. Our group of 7 was extremely satisified with our meal and will be back soon. Portions were good size and price was reasonable (even with alcoholic beverages).

Our book club went to Winfield's a couple weeks back and all I can say is WOW!! Finally, a fantastic, inviting atmosphere for all crowds, even kid friendly!!! Food & service just added to the whole experience of excellence. This place adds the right mix that this area has been craving! It's the perfect vision!! Do yourselves and friends a favor, and run, don't walk to try it!!!

I was really excited to try Winfield's. The build up to their opening was great. The interior is beautiful. It's a great build out, roomy and comfortable. They are very welcoming to families, bringing the kids iPads to use while waiting for our food. There were a few hiccups though. First the service was slow and neglectful. Our waitress took our order and disappeared. I watched (and heard) our appetizer come up. It was then moved back under the heat lamp for about 10 minutes. By the time she reappeared our entrees were ready. The food portions were definitely on the smaller size. If we hadn't ordered an appetizer, the entrée salad (Mexicali Cobb) would have left me hungry. Also the salad lacked flavor. The dressing was bland and the toppings were sparse. I may give Winfield's a second chance, but they won't be a top choice of mine.
