Great find. Can't believe this place hasn't been reviewed more. Excellent, excellent tacos - tried the asada, al pastor, and chicken. Quite tasty, and importantly, they are consistently good. The taco special on Tuesday is stellar. Rated 4 stars for the food, with a bonus for the price. I will be forever grateful to my friend for taking me here. This is exactly the sort of place I love - family shop, surprising and unassuming location, fantastic food. Go and enjoy!

Ok so I'm a little confused. Why only 7 reviews for this particular Taqueria. As previous reviewers mentioned Hot sauce phenomenal. Tacos $1.50 a bit on small side but Carne Asada really good. Looking fwd to trying other specialties. Lots of regulars in this industrial location and only open Mon-Fri 9-5. Will be back.

Probably one of the best kept secrets on 18th at. Menu and diner are not much but it sure is good. And who can beat 99 cent tacos? If you drive to fast you will pass it. So take your time, this place is worth checking out

Good food. Great prices. Try the cheese and pepper tamales on Friday. They are phenomenal.

So I almost didn't write a review for Silvas because I wanted to keep it all to myself. Then I thought that wouldn't be very nice now would it. This place is great and really I want to see them be there forever. It is the quintessential taco stand food with a brick and mortar. They have a different special every day and I have almost had all of them. They are all amazing. I highly recommend the tacos. Super cheap. Super Delicious. Just like a street taco should be. This is not the place to go find something drenched in nacho cheese. This is the place to find a horchata and some simple street food. Don't expect fancy tables or very good english. Just expect to come back.

Ran across this place by accident, but I'm very glad I did. What a great place to run in for some quick, tasty, mexican food. I had the four tacos special, al pastor street tacos. Great portion size, and they were served up quickly. I would definitely recommend.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
