This place is awful, at least if you get the delivery. It's seriously the worst Chinese I've ever had. In fact, it's so bad that I'm actually taking the time to save other people from suffering my fate. The only redeeming quality about this place is that they deliver and its cheap. The only thing I've had that is palatable at all is the Lo Mein, but that dish is pretty hard to screw up. Actually, most Chinese food is hard to screw up if you have the right ingredients. HyVee (yes, the grocery store) makes better Chinese food than this. I'm not joking. The first time I ordered the Sa Cha chicken, wonton soup, and crab Rangoons. The Sa Cha chicken was edible, but not exciting. I'm sure the heat of the red pepper covered up any undesirable qualities. Then there was the wonton soup. Wonton soup usually comes in this nice, clear yellow chicken broth garnished with some cute and flavorful little scallions. The stuff I got was some floaty things in some fetid brown liquid. If you guessed the "broth" was composed of 90% soy sauce, you are correct. The other 10% might have been my tears of disappointment. The crab rangoons were cold, and hard as a rock. I'm not sure what they were filled with... probably more disappointment. The good news is I survived, and every one has bad days and deserves second chances, right? Right.....? The second time I ordered the Lo Mein which I mentioned before, egg drop soup and honey chicken. Let's start with the egg drop soup. If you've ever experienced any amount of Chinese take out in your life, you know that egg drop soup varies in shades ranging from pale gold to fluorescent yellow. The stuff I have is the color of urine when you're severely dehydrated and probably in dire need of medical attention. It's a shade I'd like to call "You'd-Better-Get-That-Checked-Out-Yellow". Since I'm a real team player, I tasted it for you. It has no taste. Maybe oil. I don't think the things floating in it are eggs. They were wispy like straggling bits of toilet paper after you hurriedly try to flush them down a few too many times. Now, that's nothing. The Honey Chicken seriously has me worried. Like, I understand that the stuff is better eaten fresh off the wok because the breading gets soggy, but it shouldn't look like lumps of honey tinted mucous. Yes, I did you all a favor and tasted it as well. It tasted just like I described it, slimy and soul sappingly devoid of flavor. The good news is that deep inside, there is still chicken. So, now here I am in purgatory, waiting to see if there's any aftermath to all this. I'm repenting for my culinary sins and I'm trying to save you from yours! -Party Midget

Food is pretty good, typical Chinese takeout. They deliver, which is always good. Either get your food delivered or get takeout, inside is a little rough. They have messes up my order on occasion, most recently received Shrimp Rolls instead of the Spring Rolls I ordered, which I'm glad I noticed since I have a shell fish allergy. If it wasn't for that type of thing and the rough interior, I probably would have rated them higher.

Pretty basic hole in the wall chinese. Rice here is very lacking in the flavor department. I will say the entree meat items are pretty good. I've had the sweet & Sour chicken and also the General's chicken. Meat comes out very wekk fried and generously covered in sauce. The batter is a little thinner as opposed to the batter heavy resturants. Egg Roll's were very basic. They apppeared to have been previously frozen in another life.

First off: it's a lunch Chinese take-out place, and reasonable dine-in seating. I had a lunch special for under six bucks to dine in. I could see the kitchen, it looked very clean and they were chopping fresh vegetables like crazy. The lunch was tasty, timely, and of good quality. I will return for lunch often. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, a very good value.

The food was pretty bad. Rice was old, reheated and tasted gross. The beef/broccoli didn't have any flavor either. You know egg drop soup shouldn't be orange, right? Bleh!!! Will not order from again. Only good thing is the takeout boxes are nice for storing this mess after a few bites.

Terrible service. Ordered food 2 hours ago. Was old it would be 45-50 minutes for delivery and we still do not have food. We called the restaurant after the food was 30 minutes late and we still have no food. If we ever get out food, it'll likely be cold.

The prices are considerably cheaper then China Dragon and THEY DELIVER! For a little over $7 you can get a main dish, crab puff, egg roll, and soup! That is a great deal! I got 3 meals out of my one order. Tasty and cheap. When you do not feel like cooking it is a nice treat. Also, the staff were polite :)

It's nothing fancy, but the food is delicious. I've been going here for about nine years now, and I've never had a meal that wasn't fresh and good tasting. The people who run it and work here are also very nice. It's not the kind of restaurant you'd go to for an event, but it's great for grabbing a bite to eat. Good proportions, good flavor. 'Nuff said.

I used to live by China King several years ago. Every once in a while I still stop by for some takeout. I did say "takeout", meaning I don't suggest you eat there although you can. The place is rather questionable since it isn't exactly clean, but the food is quite decent. In fact, it is one of the better takeout Chinese places I've been to. The service is fine and the food is prepared often very quickly. I've had some of their other dishes but I pretty much stick to the Chicken Lo-Mein since I think it is the best. Their Crab Rangoon and Egg Rolls are decent too. I've had some inconsistent times here. One visit it will be amazing, then another it will be average, next it is amazing again, then eww that time was not good. Overall, decent!

I like that they deliver with no issues and are very fast. Prices are very affordable. I liked the food and based on the cost and convience I will order from them again. The reason I only rated them a 3 was because my spouse had Sweet & Sour Chicken and the chicken wasn't really a full piece of chicken but more batter. But all in all they were Ok.

Got take out for the first and last time today. Was thinking this is ok for 5 bucks when I found a short black straight hair. Not going back.

I've had delivery from China King a few times now, and they were about 3-4 stars, good food, we enjoyed the combinatino Lo Mein. Until however, I ordered their Lunch special. and it. was. AWFUL. We ordered steamed dumplings, sesame chicken/white rice/egg drop soup, and chicken lo mein/fried rice/egg drop soup. We had not ordered the dumplings before during dinner, so I can't compare, but they were very oily and left a residue in our stomach after eating just one. They tasted okay, and if it wasn't for that lingering effect, we probably would have eaten more. The sesame chicken was more sauce than chicken, but was fine, as was the white rice. The egg drop soup however, was a dark yellow liquid, with bits of egg floating in it, and no taste. We watered it down to see if it was salvageable, but then it just became a bowl of yellow warm water. The fried rice looked & tasted like it was from the frozen food section, nothing fresh about it. I will say, their main entrees were okay, but if their food changes this much from lunch to dinner, I don't think I want to risk what I may find next time I open my delivery order.

Very convenient location! And drive-thru orders seem to be quicker than counter service. Now to the food... good to above average. The dinners are large and fresh. A good value for the price. The rice is OK, nothing to mention. As for the dine in experience, I would advise to take your meal with you. Give it a try. You might be suprised!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
