Two words: STREET TACOS! AMAZING! This is definitely a Go-To place for a quick cheap Mexican fix. They have wonderful tacos/quesdillas/chimi's and they just added a new white cheese dip that has jalepenos (which is runny, but still delicious to drench anything in). That's the fattty in me talking... Also, if you are in or around the area where they are located, they have the fastest delivery! I mean, super quick every single time I have ordered.... mind you I have been eating there for years! Cancun, I want to thank you for the delish tacos and cheese dip! Oh and the muffin top to go with it! Well worth it!

I've developed a healthy respect for this little place over the past few months. Their street tacos are good but not amazing. You'll have to travel elsewhere for truly great Mexican. (Bonito Michoacan comes to mind). However, their tamales are pretty delish, and you can't beat $18 for a dozen of those little bundles of goodness. Tex mex isn't really my favorite style of food, but their more American offerings are actually pretty decent. Their burritos pack a decent flavor punch, and the hard-shell tacos are a steal for $1 on Taco Tuesdays. Last but not least, their sauces are pretty good by me. I'd gladly augment my food with any of them, but I think my favorite is the hot sauce. Really, I'd probably only give the place ~3.5 stars for food. They earn bonus points for delivering and for being the best Mexican place in Midtown (that I've tried, at least. I hear good things about La Piedra del Sol and will definitely check that out). You've got to get over to Northeast or to KCK to get better food, and both of those are a decent hike for me.

Love this little joint. Super nice staff, great street tacos, and although I don't think it's on the menu they have a tasty queso blanco dip. Frankly, I don't see much reason to venture beyond the street tacos here; they are probably the most authentic thing on the menu and are consistently good. I don't recommend the chicken which tends to be dry and lacks flavor, but the asada and carnitas are delicious. Make sure to load them up with the salsa verde and a squeeze of lime juice (and a little sour cream never hurt nobody).

I found this little off the wall Mexican place on Yelp when looking for somewhere to enjoy Taco Tuesday. When we pulled it I questioned my decision since it looks like an old auto repair building but once we went inside and saw the fresh food being prepared I was at ease. The $1 tacos are real chicken breast cut up and served with fresh veggies, multiple options for salsa and even the guacamole was made fresh. The prices are inexpensive but the food was top shelf. This is not a first date type location, the appearance itself seems old or a little rundown from the outside but what they don't spend on decor they more than make up for with food quality. It is somewhere I look forward to eating at again...soon, maybe tonight!

Addicted. Have been there three times this week after moving to the area. Staff is not always the friendliest, but it's the food that matters. I go for the Quesadillas and a drink, but once I tire myself out on those, I'm looking forward to running down the rest of the menu.

Recently moved here from NYC so had no clue where to get some decent Mexican delivery. Until now! Came way faster than the 30 mins they said it would take and is pretty tasty. I had a chicken burrito and a side of chips and guacamole. Really like the fresh cilantro in the burrito. Guacamole is very smooth but a little blah could use more jalapeño. Regardless will definitely order again.

Cancun Fiesta Fresh has been on Hub's and my short list of places to try and Tuesday was the day! I love good Mexican food and Cancun delivers in flavor and value. Hubby stopped looking at the menu as soon as he realized that it was Taco Tuesday but I wanted to give this place more of a try so I ended up with a very tasty Chicken Chimichanga and we shared a chips and guacamole. It's a lot of food for under $15. Very Fresh tasting and filling. We luckily arrived just before the lunch rush but within less than ten minutes it was BUSY and stayed that way for the whole time it took us to eat. I tried all three sauces and found that a mixture of the green 'medium' and the 'extra hot' was just right for me. The Chimi was a great size and not at all greasy. Just full out flavorful. Service was fast and friendly and we will definitely go back again. Only problem is choosing what to have next time. While we were eating I was scoping out other customers selections and saw a lot of really yummy looking plates just in the short time we were there.

I just wanted to let everybody know that while the street tacos are still my true love, I have recently learned that the rest of their menu is dang good too. Their fried beef tacos? good! Their burritos? good! Also, I really appreciate the strength of their customer service. These people are all over it when it comes to getting your food out and your table cleaned up. Super nice people! BUT THEY STILL DON'T DELIVER TO THE RIVER MARKET!!!!! grrr

One of the best spots in town. Fantastic staff, food, and sauce. The adovada is the best thing on the menu meat wise by far. Taco Tuesday are standard tacos but very good. The sauce is great. The very hot is great, but amateurs beware.

I am big fan of this little eatery. I can't say that I have had anything outside of their street tacos, but how can I, they are amazing. They have a good variety and every taco I have had here has been well worth the visit. I often think of the mass consumption that would occur if they delivered to the River Market (hint hint Fiesta guys). Cancun Fiesta Fresh is a bit of a hole in the wall. I can't say I like the neon tree out front, but I guess when you are tucked away in the back of Westport anything to draw attention may be helpful. Don't let their size fool you though, this place is big on service and huge on tasty taco's. As soon as you walk in the front door here you are welcomed and if your ready, immediately serviced. I like that when I order, fresh ingredients are pulled out and my food is made on the spot, usually done before I'm through paying, but always ready before I have collected my salsas and drink. My favorite here are the cow tongue and cheek (seriously, no pun intended).

One of my favorite "fast" food mexican restuarants.. anytime we order mexican for lunch @ work, this is our #1 spot to go. I've tried a number of things on the menu.. including: beef taquitos, huge deliscious burritos (meat of your choice), quesadilla, the beef nachos covered in nacho cheese, and one of my all time favorites from Cancun Fiesta is their street tacos which are fresh authentic melt in your mouth tacos! I've never had any street taco that tasted better than Cancun Fiesta Fresh! A must try, especially on the weekends when your coming from your favorite pub/bar/club & your having those late night cravings=perfect place!

I had read about Cancun Fiesta Fresh in the KC Star a few weeks ago and cut out the write up to save for a nice day. Who would have thought that I would be able to enjoy street tacos, al fresco, on January 28 in Kansas City? Once the weather was confirmed, sunny and warm, I summoned my parents to meet me for lunch. They are always up for trying something new and different; especially when it's a good price. I couldn't resist trying the street tacos, after all that's what they were written up for, and I wasn't disappointed. Both my mom and I had carnitas (roasted pork) and asada (marinated beef) street tacos ($1.75 ea.) - the corn tortillas were fresh and the meats tender and seasoned perfectly. I love the simplicity of street tacos, just onions and plenty of cilantro. Street tacos only work if the meat is delicious, and it definitely worked at Cancun Fiesta Fresh! I may even get more daring next time and try the beef cheek or tongue. My dad had the daily special, two crispy tacos (beef) with rice and beans and a drink ($5.99). He enjoyed the beans and tacos, but the rice was bland. We shared an order of guacamole, salsa and chips. It was definitely not worth the cost, the guacamole was just fair, next time I'd get a third taco! There is a great outdoor seating area and also a few tables inside. They have delivery available and the driver was busy coming and going the entire hour we enjoyed our lunch on the patio. Keep the traditional Hispanic tunes streaming through the outdoor speakers; for a minute I thought that I was back in Mexico - the sweet smell of fresh tortillas, the tantalizing taste of authentic food and the warm sunshine!

While it's not the most mind-blowing eating experience of a lifetime, a visit to Cancun will not disappoint you if you're in search of authentic Mexican tacos. Their street tacos are just what you'd expect of an authentic Mexican taco and the soft corn tortillas are not overly greasy like they are at many establishments. Also, they have Baja style fish tacos which, while not QUITE as good as the ones you'll find in San Diego or Mexico, are better than any others that I have ever managed to find in the Midwest. 4 stars for a pleasing taco fix.

Yes sir, the go to spot for utter delicious street taco's and smooth as silk guacamole. Not the cheapest joint in town but worth every cent. Ran across Cancun years ago after watching a movie in the Tivoli on Westport. Appears to be in an old garage, firehouse, or some small building. Walking in you immediately notice how small the place is. Maybe 5 tables at most. Very clean and tidy compared to other street tacos staples around KC. But, cleanliness rarely plays a role in how good a mexican/street taco type set up is. Some of the best street tacos in Texas, California and Kansas City have come from the grungiest places this side of the border. Don't stress over that too much. Anyhow, familiar faces will greet you from behind the counter and the grill area which is virtually tucked within a 10-15 square feet area as you walk thru the door. Don't expect many smiles or small talk. It's all about taking the order and getting the food out. I've been going there for over 4 years and it's still a struggle to strike up any meaningful conversations. All business. The menu is pretty straight forward. All printed on a narrow 9-12 inch type card. Street tacos with various meats, soft tacos, fried tacos, burrito's, taquitos, chips, salsa, guac, and a few other items I can't remember. The meats are extremely flavorful. Pastor, steak, cabeza, grilled chicken, and a couple more authentic cuts most Americans will not fool with. The chicken in my opinion is the best. Kinda dry but it's so good on the street taco's and burritos. Pastor isn't bad either. Be sure to ask for the double tortilla order on the street tacos. Most authentic street tacos come with two corn tortillas. Cancun only provides one. Besides, they pile a ton on meat on their tacos and the corn tortillas have a habit of falling apart from the weight of the meat. Be sure to put the green and red salsa on the tacos. This provides a wonderful flavor on top of the meat and warm corn tortillas. Order a guac and chip while you wait for the food order. It tends to take a few minutes because everything is freshly made to order. One beef I have is that their chips kinda suck. Taste as though they come from a store bought bag. Served kinda cold and in a metal pie pan. Ask them to heat up the chips for you. The guacamole is homemade and some of the best in KC. They do have a Pepsi fountain with Mountain Dew and Strawberry sodas amongst other offerings. Cancun does have daily specials but most appear to be the Americanized versions of Mexican food simply drowned in thick cheese sauces. Stick with the authentic stuff if you want something different. By the way, Cancun has a second location in KCK off 6th or 7th and Central Avenue. I've been there twice and it doesn't compare to the Westport location. Plus, the KCK location advertises itself as a burger joint that serves mexican food. Weird weird weird. Food does't taste the same even though they swear everything is the same. Lastly, Cancun is right up there with some of the better known street taco venues in KCK and Independence Avenue in KC Mo. Give them a try. You won't be sorry.

Simple fresh food and a perfect patio to enjoy theme. If you want posh ambiance or JoCo fluff, go somewhere else. If you want to get your hands dirty with these delicious street tacos, this is your place!

What!!! Out of ice cream, and it's 100 degrees outside...Say it ain't so! Okay, so it was so, and their sign was still up that fried ice cream was on special. I forgive them. I didn't have the cash for any place special, and Cancun hit the spot. I'd never eaten there before. I ordered the street tacos with marinated beef. (I hope it wasn't part heart or cheek, meh). The shell was soft white corn, with a slight sweet taste. The meat was marinated just right, with cilantro piled on top of beef. I didn't realize I needed to pay 50 cents extra for cheese. I ordered water, and when I went to the machine, I swear I didn't hit the tea button, but tea came out of the spout. I was a bit embarrassed, but I love tea, and I drank it. Truthfully, Cancun Fiesta Fresh took me back to Brownsville, where, if you're stuck on the boarder patrol highway, going to Mexico, you turn onto an alley. In that alley amongst the homeless, deprived, and peso exchange stores is a Mexican restaurant that is the spitting image of Cancun Fiesta Fresh. I half expected to see a peso exchange machine. That's how Don't be expecting Cancun Fiesta Fresh to be spotless or have perfect service. They were fast to me, and no one uttered a word about the tea, (neither did I). The staff were very nice, and happy. My street tacos were only $3.50 and worth every penny of it. They were good, fresh, and were presented to me quick. There is outside seating. Mexican music can be heard both inside and out. I liked this place, and miss Brownsville. I'll be back, just for the flavor.

Awesome real Mexican food for cheap$$$ I typically get their burrito or whatever is the daily special. I've had their street tacos which are what you would expect but depending on the day their chicken can be extremely dry. Not sure if they overcook or what but I have to douse them with the excellent homemade salsa just get them down. If given a choice I'll eat here over most places around town.

Closest thing to what you'll get on the beaches of Mexico in Kansas City! For less than $14, we got 2 fish tacos, 2 shrimp tacos and 2 orders each of beans and rice - talk about a cheap date! The fish and shrimp are fried, which I usually don't like, but these were crisp, flavorful and melt in your mouth tender. They both came topped with a creamy cabbage slaw, fresh red onions, cliantro and lime in a doubled corn tortilla - keepin' it real and simple. The salsa bar lets you mix and match for optimal intensity while the outdoor patio allows for a variety of Westport entertainment. Service isn't an issue here as you place your order, find a seat and wait for Mexico to arrive! Simple, savory and just the way good street tacos should be.

This unassuming restaurant, actually more reminiscent of a local taco-stand, is tucked away in the North part of Westport, in a parking lot where one wouldn't expect an amazing little Mexican restaurant. The food is simple, but it delivers on the promise of uncomplicated and delicious street food. The soft-shell corn tortilla tacos are the best! I'm a fan of the carnitas and asada, but you can be more adventurous with the *different* varieties of meats available. You can't go wrong with this place, and on Tuesdays they have a hard-shell taco special for a buck!

God knows that if you live in Midtown, you have plenty of options reasonably close by. But if you're not in the mood to go to a regular sit-down restaurant by yourself, for whatever reason, this is the place. This is the Gates "Hi-may-I-help-you?" version of Mexican food. Before I even had a chance to scan the menu, the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted the special. On Saturday, it's three fried beef tacos, beans, rice and a drink for $7.50. Well, why not? It probably wasn't what I would have chosen given more time but, on the other hand, I didn't have to engage my brain. I was happy with my non-decision. I added some guac and chips and was happy as a pig in poop. FRESH, guacamole, crisp chips with just the right amount of salt, delish tacos. Even the beans and rice, which are usually throwaways for me, were tres yum. As an added bonus, PACIFICO ON TAP. I lived in Southern California for years and made plenty of trips south of the border, and this is the REAL DEAL. And, thank you sweet baby Jesus -- THEY DELIVER!

Mexican food that's delivered! Good Mexican food that's delivered! Good, inexpensive Mexican food that's delivered! Their shrimp tacos are awesome, breaded shrimp with some yummy marinated cabbage. The street tacos are fantastic and the veggie burrito with a side of guac, yum! They are also open late, but you probably already know this. Support this great little place, they deserve it!

I've been visiting Cancun since I moved to Kansas City. I first tried them because I wanted Mexican food delivered to my house and their ad had two tacos wearing boxing gloves and fighting each other. I would've been stupid not to place an order. The street tacos, fried beef tacos, tortas, and quesadillas are great. They've never screwed up my order and they've never made me run to the toilet and curse their name. Keep up the good work, folks.

Make that 3.5. CFF ain't too shabby. Definitely on the authentic side. The street tacos seemed to be the most popular item so I tried three different varieties (Asada, Adobada, and Pollo). Out of the three, I must say the Adobada (BBQ Beef) won out. These street tacos are fairly light on grease, heavy on seasoning, and very heavy on cilantro. Throw in some onions, salsa, and a dash of lime and you've got a lot of busy flavors going on at one time with each bite. The tongue (Lengua) and cheek (Cabeza) frightened me a little, but my curiosity might get the better of me on the next visit.

Five stars for a hidden jewel. Authentic street tacos, great specials and a patio. This is really more of a lunch place, though. Very small, but I love it. Going the for lunch is stress-relieving! Makes you feel you are in Mexico!

I first checked out Cancun Fiesta Fresh about a year ago after moving to KC and seriously craving some steak street tacos. I found the meat to be tough and rubbery and the flavor lacking. So I called it a day and never made it back. A year passed. I stopped eating meat. But it was lunchtime and man, I wanted some quick Mexican eats that included chips and queso (I have an unnatural and unhealthy weakness for cheese in all forms, even when it's artificial and served at a ballpark). With its close proximity to my office, I decided to give Cancun Fiesta Fresh another try. Shrimp tacos sounded especially delish (it was beteween those, fish tacos or a veg burrito). And of course I asked for the chips and queso. The good: The chips. Thin, crispy and salty. Just the way I like them. Ditto for the salsa. I mixed a bit of the mild with the hot and was super fresh with the perfect bit of heat. The bad: Everything else. Spoiler alert: the shrimp are fried. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Shrimp are so tasty on their own that frying seems like a travesty. And the greasy breading to shrimp ration seemed way, way off. I'm not actually sure that any shrimp actually made it into the tacos. I was so bummed that I ended up taking the shrimp out of taco #2 and just eating the cabbage, onions and bell pepper garnish (doused with salsa) wrapped up in the tortillas. And the queso? I've tasted better out of a jar from the grocery store. Better places for shrimp tacos (though not as speedy as CFF): El Patron and Sabor y Sol. If seafood or vegetarian-friendly options are your thing, Cancun Fiesta Fresh is most definitely not.

Let me start by saying, there was once a time when no burrito could come close to Chipotle's. That is, until I traveled just a few blocks from my home to find a little, tiny, you could almost miss it, Westport eatery called Cancun Fiesta Fresh. Their burrito is bigger and arguably better. Ok, I admit, some of this has to do with the fact that you get just as much burrito for under $6 (Chipotle upped their prices to more than $6). BUT, and it's a big one, THEY ALSO DELIVER. WITHOUT A FEE. Not only will a freshly made burrito, or any other Mexican goodness show up at your front stoop, but it'll happen in a Mexican minute (newly defined as Cancun Fiesta Fresh delivery time). I've also devoured their homemade guacamole (holllllly!) and their quesadillas. It really is the place to get Midtown Mexican and support a home grown company. Side note: the sit in area squeezes 15-20 people. It's small, a bit grimy, and lacks "curb appeal". What's wrong with rubbing some elbows when you're chowing on greasy goodness?

It's like a food truck inside of a building. No frills, just the basics, I knew I'd love this place. I can't wait until it's warmer and we can hang out outside! I got a fish taco a shrimp taco and an order of chips and salsa, all for under $10. I also grabbed a cup of the super hot salsa. They are not kidding with that stuff. The food was fresh and the batter on the fish and the shrimp was sweet and savory. I fell in love with both of those tacos. Ah! And the tortilla was corn along with a simple cabbage slaw and a bunch of cilantro! I am jealous of those of you who are able to have it delivered.

A few weeks ago I finally tried Cancun Fiesta Fresh, and I'm so glad I did. My party of 3 arrived after a *long* day at some of Westport's finest establishments. We ordered a variety of food, including every flavor of street taco, some chips and queso, and, umm... I can't remember what else. After ordering at the counter we sharked a table outside and enjoyed the beautiful spring evening. It didn't take long for our food to be delivered to our table. It was fantastic. Yay for fresh corn tortillas, fresh cilantro, and yummy seasoned meaty tacos! We tried the carnitas, pollo, lengua and cabeza. I of course had to have a fish taco, and decided to get some chips with queso, and a side of beans. The tacos were really fantastic. I enjoyed the cabeza the most. The fish taco was fine, but overshadowed by the cabeza. The chips and queso were ok, they were nothing special, tasted like nachos you would get at a gas station, and on the expensive side (relatively speaking) at $3.75. The beans were boring, seemed to be straight out of the can without any seasoning or extra love. Overall, this place is awesome, if you stick with the street tacos. Adding sides to your tacos only up the "meh" factor. I will definitely be back!

Every time we eat here, we get about 1.5 tacos in one says to the other, "Why don't we come here more often?" No idea, but we'll be changing our ways. Not only is it a cheap, fresh bite, but I really miss the taco stands in Austin sometimes and Cancun has street tacos -- lingua, cheek, carnitas -- as well as your west coast style fish tacos with all the slaw and such. Previous reviews, I feel, are focusing on how they weren't expecting the place to be take-out oriented. I'd say that's in no way Cancun's fault. From the outside it doesn't masquerade as a high-end restaurant. Commenting on the decor is pretty ridiculous. It's a genuine and sincere taco place. They do a really great job. If you really came to Westport in hopes of a high-brow experience...I'd say you've got your priorities out of order.

  • Hannie D.

I am giving this 5 stars, because I've been searching for a decent taco for two years (since I moved from Austin). In Austin, they'd be a 3 or 4 at the most. Lingua tacos are fantastic and only 1.75.

  • David S.

Very tasty tacos, eveything else is just ok. I have eaten here a bunch of times since I live so close and after tasting the majority of the menu, I have to say that the tacos are the star. The other food is not bad, it just doesn't stand out from anything else. The Tacos though, are bright flavorful and delicious. They have a range of options for the protein, from Pastor, to Tongue or Head. All are expertly cooked, served with their amazing salsa's on fresh tortillas. When I have a craving for Mexican food and can't make the drive to El Camino Real, Cancun Fiesta more than makes up for the craving.

I stopped in here for dinner on a Sunday night. The place wasn't very busy and it was easy to find seating. Cancun Fiesta Fresh has a very small dining area, but it's also one of those places where you order at the counter. It seems that at least half of their business is carryout. The decor here leaves something to be desired. It's basically some cheap tables and chairs and Mexican caricature items. There were cheesy music videos were playing on the TV. Fortunately I didn't come here to worry about the scene... I came here to eat! I glanced over the menu and chose a veggie burrito, chips and salsa, and a drink, all for around $10. I had my burrito made with hot sauce (options are mild or hot). I was a little disappointed that I had to pay for the chips and salsa, but then again, this isn't a standard "sit down" and order kind of place. From the time I ordered until I got my food, it was less than five minutes. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The burrito probably weighed at least two pounds. It was filled with beans, cheese, rice, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and a great homemade salsa. After taking a bite of my burrito, I also opted to get some additional salsa to spice it up a bit. Their condiment area has fresh mild, hot (green), and extra hot salsa. They really should put a warning label on their extra hot salsa! I'm no lightweight when it comes to the Scoville scale, but this salsa was HOT! My mouth was on fire for at least five minutes after eating bites of my burrito, and that was while I was snacking on the chips to get rid of the burn. Despite having my lips numbed from the spice, my overall burrito eating experience was very pleasant. I will definitely return to this restaurant because it's fast, cheap, and it can easily be done as carry out. I also read that they deliver in the Westport area, so that's a bonus.

My co-workers eat here a lot, but it never works out that I can go with them. I made a special trip last night. From the reviews that I had read, I was expecting all tacos to be a dollar on Tuesdays. They are not. Their taco Tuesday special only includes hard shell with ground beef or chicken. There is nothing wrong with this, but I wanted to include it as a heads up for others. I had street tacos with tongue and beef cheek. They were amazing. If you have not tried them, they are both like rib meat. Full of rich meatiness. I enjoyed the radish and pickled carrot garnish too. There could have been more. The only confusing thing is their salsa. The way it is set up is a bit misleading. The red salsa was standard. The service is friendly and you can watch them make your food. I will be back. Fast, Friendly and Cheap Oh, one more thing. I would watch your step if you have been knocking back the drinks. I can't wait to go when it is icy.

Buyer Beware...fresh may not be fresh. Where has the quality gone? I *used* to love Cancun Fiesta Fresh. We'd have it delivered twice per week and loved every bit of it. I have been eating there for over a year and recommended tons of people to try it out. My favorite were the street tacos, but after a bad episode with an order one time (got sick after eating it), I veered away and tried something else. Until the last several times we had eaten there, it was my go-to place. But now, it seems the "Fresh" may need to be dropped from their name, because last night was a complete fiesta (not in a good way). Cancun is a streetside taco joint not intended to be the best of the best quality of food. But food poisoning was where the buck stops for me. The past several times I hadn't felt awesome after I ate their food (street tacos were written off a couple months ago), but just figured it was my stomach - after all, it couldn't be the food I loved so much! Or could it? Last night was the LAST TIME I WILL EVER EAT THERE. I ordered the Carnitas Bowl and not only got dinner, but food poisoning. I was up all night, chills, shakes, puking, etc. It seems their quality has completely gone by the wayside. Adios Cancun, I'm going to have to replace you.

After an amusing happy hour at Sol Cantina with coworkers last night, I found myself in the mood for good Mexican food. But here's the situation: it's 7:00, I've already had a couple beers so I'm not totally famished, my wife was out with other friends so I was pretty much headed home to enjoy a rare night of just sitting around and doing whatever the heck I wanted. A big ol' platter of takeout Mexican food was not in order. This was the perfect setup for STREET TACOS! So I dropped into Cancun Fiesta Fresh to try what I have been told are some delicious and authentic-tasting street tacos. Of course, staring at the menu's options, my eyes became bigger than my stomach and I ordered four: Asada (marinated beef), Adobada (BBQ beef), Carnitas (roasted pork) and Pollo (chicken). The handmade corn tortillas come warm and, despite small, are filled with rich meat and cheese that will quickly fill you up. Their salsas are fresh and tasty. Don't worry - Extra Spicy really isn't too bad. Give it a try. Squeeze the accompanying limes (which come in a little sandwich baggie along with a slice of radish and carrot just for authenticity's sake) on top of the bed of cilantro and lettuce that covers the meat and cheese and you get all the flavors an authentic Mexican street taco should have. The Asada and Adobada had magnificent flavor, the meat chopped fine for easy chewing. The pollo was delicious but less flavorful and slightly dry as grilled chicken can be. By the time I got to the carnitas, I was too full to take on any more than one bite of the deliciously seasoned, soft, shreddable hunks of pork. I got exactly what I wanted out of my trip to CFF and see myself stopping by here much more often now. I give it a lofty two napkins because I appreciate that it's not trying to be anything it shouldn't. Walking up to this place and getting your order of street tacos, which you can wolf down in a matter of just a few minutes at one of the little cheap tables they have there (or even just standing and laughing with friends while you gorge) can make you feel like you're actually in Mexico, having the real experience. And I appreciate the heck out of that.

I love this place. It really is the best authentic Mexican food in KC. The street tacos are fantastic. Served with cilantro and onions on a soft corn tortilla. Add lime and hot sauce to your liking. I crave them probably more than any dish in the city (second to the Smokie Joe at Oklahoma Joes). My personal favorites are the adovado and the carnitas, but the asada and pollo are good too. The beans and rice: often overlooked, but to me is very important for a Mexican restaurant. The selection at CCF is spot on. Lots of places skimp on the side dishes, but not here. The guacamole: holy schmoly. This is the best in the city, hands down. I could eat it by the spoonful, and often do. It's the perfect balance of salt, jalapenos, and avocado. OMG, I can't say enough. The hot sauces: fantastic flavor and spice. The "extra hot" sauce is awesome. Perfect for people who like stuff spicy. The "hot" is good too and is actually a tomatillo sauce. The "mild" is not anything special. Overall: get the street tacos and the guac and you'll die a happy foodie.

I can't believe how good this place is! I have to admit, I was not really on board with going to a cafeteria-style mexican restaurant in Westport, with a silly sounding name no less. But I was quite impressed! The gal at the register, while not the most enthusiastic, is extremely nice & patient, I can imagine she's seen her share of drunken baffoonery. It appears to be family-run, which I respect, and hello. They deliver. That's bananas! KC's food delivery scene sucks something awful, but Cancun Fiesta Fresh is a saving grace in that respect! Like most posters on here I'm a street taco gal, and they're just like the ones I ate in Cancun City, Mexico. Simple with onion & cilantro & meat, but fresh as hell. I go for the asada everytime but always steal a bite of my man's beef cheek, crimony its succulent. You get 4 street tacos & a drink for like $7, and you get a delicious jalapeno pickled carrot on the side- yum! Yeah, chips are extra, but do it, they do them inhouse so they're perfectly crunchy and never too salty. Get a side of guac while you're at it! The green salsa is so good I always take some for the road to eat on anything & everything the next day. Plus, they have strawberry soda! Need I say more?! Ok so let's recap: fresh, made inhouse, delivers, tasty, authentic, strawberry soda. 2 big meals, chips & guac comes to $20. That's it? Quit your complaining, this place is exactly what it needs to be!

Heard great things about this place...was expecting great, authentic, street style food. It didn't meet the expectations, and I probably won't return here.

I have to give this place five stars for the best synthesis of quality and affordability I've encountered in Kansas City. With the authentic taste of Mexico at the price of McDonald's, what's not to love? A mere 1.75 buys you a street taco filled with one of the following meats: Asada, Adobada (BBQ Beef), Carnitas, Pollo (Chicken), Carne Molida (Ground Beef), Lengua(Beef Tongue), Cabeza (Beef Cheek). I personally think the asada is out of this world, but the adobada and pollo were certainly nothing to scoff at. Next trip I'm going to have to be more anatomically adventurous and try the lengua and cabeza. The green salsa and fresh cliantro are the icing on the cake. Squeeze some fresh lime juice on your tacos for some added flavor and enjoy! Pardon me for neglecting to add that there is more to the menu than the street tacos, but I just don't think i can bring myself to deviate from these 1.75 morsels. Outstanding.

Another Taco Tuesday Spot. Dollar Tacos are rad, most things on the menu are more or less authentic. The best thing about this place is the salsas! The worst thing about this place is it is in Wesport, which means you have to see Westport people... ghee If you want the real deal go down to el camino real in KCK. That place kills...

Amazing tacos and very close to what you experience at taco stands in small-town Mexico. Nothing fancy but that's perfect.

You may feel a little like you've gone to Mexico when walk up to this place, but you are in fact still in Westport. The street tacos are my favorite and the Asada beef is excellent! I've taken numerous people here and they always like it, not matter what hey order. Its very reasonable as well! Not to mention quick and great service. I live close enough for delivery.. yes they deliver! I usually get my order at my door in 10min flat! All in all if you're looking for something different give it a shot!

I've been there a handful of times and order the fish tacos. They were so good the first time I've never had a desire to try anything else. In fact I think I'm going to have to get dinner there now...can't hold off on the craving. And as another reviewer said, their food is in fact very fresh tasting.

Good little Joint!! People are friendly, Prices are good for the portions. Food is fresh along with the home made salsa... Quite, casual little dining place. in or outside.. In the heart of Westport.. Thumbs up..

Just ordered delivery from Cancun Fresh because a friend had recommended it. I was excited to have Mexican food delivered. I was very disappointed. The hard shell tacos we're okay, but didn't have much flavor. The buritto and chimichanga also had a lack of flavor. If I try it again I will get the street tacos like everyone recommends.

    (2)

All about the rico tacos! Asada and lengua is great. The fish is good. They're real mexicans making good food. The hot salsa is great, so is the verde.

Hidden gem in westport? Absolutely. I happened to stop in here on accident one day and have been hooked since. These street taco's are incredible, the salsa is fresh, the meat is money. I don't think a place with so much goodness inside could do anything wrong to be totally honest. I live for taco's and in general mexican food, and this hits the spot, this is the closets place I have found to my grandmothers amazing taco's.

A taco truck stuck in a building. (Well almost) La Croix Creole Bistro was the former tenant here. Oh how I wish they would somehow return. Kansas City Misses you! I MISS YOU! Anyway, getting back to the world as it is now. It's pretty decent food. The taco's are very delicious and are baptised in cilantro (If I were an onion, id marry a cilantro bush). The service is also speedy. The drawback is the staff is strangely inept at speaking English. Usually the Mexican establishments all over have at least one or two English speakers at the front counter. Not the case here. I have no idea what would have happened if I didn't speak Spanish. Regardless, it's a good palce to go for tacos if you believe taco trucks are suspect in the cleanliness deparmtnet (which most are) and you don't want to travel to the ghetto and leave with a souvinier stuck in your buttocks a-la-Forrest Gump courtesy of the KCK thugs. These are "above average" taco's. If you want the best, go for Bonita Michoacan.

Great authentic food and prices. Sometimes delivery service is "rough." Had a guy deliver food, he dropped it at my door spilling the sauce all over my porch and did not offer a sorry, clean up, or replacement. This was after I signed my receipt and gave him a large tip.

  • Tracey H.

These tacos are so very tasty and yes, "fresh"! I've had better on the coast of course, but for KC it's pretty fabulous-ish!

Full disclosure: this was my first visit. It's tough to pull me away from the Boulevard when I am craving tacos.. Went here on Monday for my bday lunch with my friends Adam H. and Jocelyn L.. It was packed but from order to delivery at our table, it didn't take very long at all, maybe four minutes. There is a salsa bar and you serve yourself from the fountain. Silverware and napkins are your responsibility also, but it's a dive so who gives a shit. Taco's are pricey, I believe I paid $1.75. I know it's only fifty cents but street taco's should never cost more than a buck twenty-five. And taco's weren't that big at all. The taste was, as the three stars indicate, A-OK. Nothing to rave about. It has other offerings as well. My dining buddies each had a burrito that was on special for Monday. And both of them were disapointed in the cheese sauce. Not the sauce itself but the amount they put on top. Looking back at the review, it seems I was a bit negative. Let me just say the following: if I lived or worked in the immediate area, I would be a regular here. It's "good" in a town of abundant "great" taco joints. Oh, and what's better, they deliver!!

    (3)
  • Stacy K.

Tried the street tacos with Pollo, Asada, and Carnitas. The meat was very dry and tasteless. Needs a dynamic sauce to pep it up.

    (2)
  • Will B.

I was extremely underwhelmed. The chicken in my burrito was not flavorful at all. I have had a decent burrito here before. None of the ingredients were really outstanding. I'll take BurritoBros over this place any day.

  • Wasim M.

Hoping this place would be a good option for a Mexican restaurant, but the food was pretty average. I felt like the meat quality wasn't the best and the salsas could have been better. The nachos were also disappointing as the cheese on top wasn't very hot. The only thing I would probably order again were the fish tacos. They aren't the best I've had, but they tasted good. Otherwise, I'm on the fence about going back.

Came in about 6pm on a Sunday. When I walked in, the place was completely dead. A few more customers trickled in over the next half hour. I ordered a burrito, and chips/salsa. My food arrived quickly, and everyone was very polite. The chips were ok, just a touch greasy but I've had worse. The burrito was solid, not exactly authentic, but accessible and had decent flavor. The mild salsa was very good. Just a bit of kick, and a nice fresh cilantro flavor with some chunks of fresh tomato. The "hot" tomatillo salsa wasn't very hot and was a little watery. The "very hot" salsa was more of medium but had a nice habanero flavor and a burn that creeps up on you. Overall, food is decent if a smidge pricey. A pleasant experience. It is what it is, and what it is isn't bad.

This review is for the one on Broadway that opened over the summer. It's not good. Plain and simple. MAYBE if I was drunk walking home from westport Id stop in again. Seriously doubt it though. Everything is bland as hell. Drenched my nachos in the hottest salsa they had and still didn't taste like anything. Terrible terrible food. Just don't do it.

I had always been hesitant to try Cancun Fresh - seems a little out of place. Glad I did! I got the lunch special - mostly because I didn't want to scan the menu for too much longer. (I was the only person there - but there seemed to be several delivery/take out orders via phone.) I had the Monterey burrito - good mix of rice, beans and chicken. The sauze was really flavorful. One downside - they put the chips inside the same to go container, so they were soggy by the time I went to eat them. I did save the salsa and eat it with other chips later. Just the right amount of cilantro. The staff was friendly, and the in house seating looked clean.

Taco Tuesday, this little gem in Westport is well known by all collage students and hipsters alike. Great food at a great price and on some days it even gets cheaper with their every day specials. They are not my favorite taco place but the asada taco comes pretty damn close.

    (4)
  • Pam C.

This place is pretty good fast Mexican ...I order a cheese quesadilla with chips and salsa and a side of beans. Very fast service and not over priced. It is small for eating in but not bad. I would go back.

    (4)
  • Tim M.

Meh. Tried it again. Taco Tuesday special. The beef isn't even seasoned. At all. Taco shells taste stale. Couldn't finish them. Have had other things previously, like deep fried tacos, rice and beans. Below average. Scratching it off the list.

    (2)
  • Shawn B.

Not a fan, sorry. Everything was very bland. There was no taste at all to my street tacos, so I had to douse them in their salsa. The beans were just OK. The rice was different, tasty. I guess I'm spoiled by the tacos in Texas. The others got fried tacos and said they were OK. Not enough beef to bean ratio they said. I did not find them that cheap, really. Almost $40 for 4 combo plates and drinks, that's pretty average. Doubt we return.

  • Jessica Y.

hmm...not sure if we came on an off night but the food quality was low. small friendly family joint located in a warehouse vibe building. fish tacos were very fishy, over fried/dry, and chewy carne asada tacos were rubbery, over cooked, and not fresh margaritas were strong and refreshing Ehhhhhh

For two years I lived up the street from this place and never ventured in. Years after moving, my husband and I met a friend for dinner here and I immediately regretted all the years of neglect I have been giving this place. Most items on the menu are delicious, but I usually stick to a chicken burrito with beans and rice. I always leave this place satisfied and extremely full. The staff is always friendly and your food comes out reasonably fast. The prices are good and you get a nice helping of food. It's a great place to grab a quick lunch on a workday or dinner on those days you don't feel like cooking.

Perfect crossbreed of Mexican food between "boulevard Mex" and "KCK Mex"! It is the best of both food types. Each and every time I have been here the food has been excellent and the service is so great! They do not have "huge" menses like the "Mexican" restaurants on the boulevard; but what they do have is "quality"; and in my humility,I think I can safely state that there is a food law that can be put in mathematical form. "Quality of food" (we call this Qf) plus friendly service (Sf) equals a excellent meal (Fe) and return visits (Vr). The law: Qf + Sf = Fe+Vr^x. Plus you can eat pretty healthy here too!! The horchata is so so good that I think I am going to go eat there tonight!. Prices are low, food is actually very fresh & tasty, what more could one ask for? a 5th star, well, you see those are hard to come by. I will always be a fan of fiesta fresh!!!

I went there and got sick off the tacos. When I brought it to the so called "owners" attention he told me it was my fault for ordering that food item and that there was nothing he could do for me!

First time there. Not that busy. Friendly people, food came fast. Now the bad stuff. I had shrimp tacos. The shrimp was breaded. Was expecting grilled shrimp. The shrimp was very small. Everything needed seasoning. Very bland food. Everything needed salt. The beans, rice, guacamole that came with the chips and guacamole. Only tea there is brisk. No regular iced tea. Wife had the chimichanga. Sort of crispy on the outside. Inside very mushy. Probably due to them using retried beans instead of black beans. Doesn't make sense to stuff half of it with chicken and the other half with refried beans when there's refried beans already on the plate. I do like however that my tacos came with a slice of lime. I asked for some lemon too, for the guac but they don't carry it I guess. Oh, the guac has avocado, tomato, and jalapeños. Wife got sick from the jalapeños since she wasn't expecting it. Again no seasoning in the guac. Won't come back.

The street tacos are in line with some of the best in the city. The owners and staff are incredibly nice people. They've recently added a liquor license, which is great. I wish the vegetarian options were better/healthier, the hours later, and I wish they delivered to my house! Hahah.

I've had several issues with customer service at this place. They are rude and difficult. Couple that with the mediocre food that is, in my opinion, overpriced and you get.....one star.

Taco Tuesday! This place is a great little spot to get your quick taco Tuesday fix. Its it a small shoe box style space and has a patio that is about as large as the inside dining area. Everything is made to order and so far I haven't had anything close to a bad experience. Coming from the ex-duke of Cancun, I've had my share of burritos and tacos from this place. You know they are authentic if you see beef tongue on the menu! That seems to be the first item that appears on a menu as a restaurant gets closer to being authentic, then you get soups filled with tripe, which I have yet to have. They have an assortment of house made salsas which you can pick and match for your meal and serve yourself drinks too! They deliver in a sweet Cancun themed car too. Beer? Yeah that too. And if you're in westport late and don't want a burrito out of a truck this is the place to hit!

Cheap and awesome. That's what I've been telling people all afternoon. After being snubbed and ignored at the Foundry, me pal and I wandered over for tacos. You ever pass a place a million times and never think to give it the time a day? Nothing about the building really stands out. You see it out of the corner of your eye and think "hey, a patio" and move on to spend money at a waaay pricier establishment. Well, maybe not, but that's what I did and I feel stupid now. The place is small and to the point. It reminded me of a strip mall Chinese restaurant. Not an extensive menu....I don't know.... it might be because I stopped reading at $1.75 chicken tacos. Yes, please!! The time it took to fill our water glasses and plant our butts outside was all the kitchen needed to toss together two tacos. Now, this will sound naive, but I've never had street tacos before and had no idea that tacos could be so colorful. It looked like a salad on corn tortillas. And what's this? A pickled jalapeño on the side? Mind culinarily blown. Then I tasted it. Delicious, light, and fresh (oddly satisfying....two smallish tacos hour the spot). Street tacos apparently fall apart faster than restaurant style, but who cares?? They were fantastic and budget-friendly.

Freaking awesome tacos! I'm from Texas and struggle to find good street tacos. These are the best the plate includes 4 tacos and a drink. Mix it up try the different types of fillings my fav are the adovado. All I can say is fast, friendly and delicious!

Welllll, these guys WERE my "Chipotles low cost alternative". That is up until today!! I witnessed a sanitary issue in the prep of my food. Goes like this. The food prep lady handles a broom (dirty), answers the phone (dirty) ... THEN without wash her hands, immediately starts in making my burritos ... with NO GLOVES on? Whaaaa?? In the FOOD service industry, isnt that's BASIC guideline ... food preparers are to wear frekkin GLOVES???? And my thought has always been ... "if THAT goes on in the FRONT of the house, what's happening in the BACK? Cant trust it. The owner walks in, so I mentioned it to him. I wanted to let him know why he just lost a regular customer. Instead of just "not coming back". My intent is not to bash this restaurant. I liked their food (especially for the price). But I just will NOT be consuming food from restaurants with low sanitary standards. Sure, Chipotles is more expensive. But it's CLEAN. I'll pay it. "Sorry I broke up with u Chipotles. She was sexy and cheap, but YOU keep the house clean. PLease take me backkk.

    (3)
  • Sunny R.

Pros: - PRICE. You get what you pay for; if you came here expecting 4 star delicacies with fresh farm grown ingredients from their backyard community farm you should immediately re-evaluate your expectations. If you've come to Cancun for quick, cheap, and delicious late-night food for under $7 you are at the right place. - TASTE. The food serves a purpose. A quick meal, with a lot of meat, and a fairly appetizing taste. There is nothing original about the way the food is prepared or served, it is just a good 'ol late night burrito shop with no-frills or unnecessary niceties. -SAUCE. Again. Nothing OUT OF THIS WORLD, but it is unlimited and 'pour as you like', which in my book is always a win. The sauce comes in 4 'hotness' levels and the range covers all the necessary pallets. - CLEAN. Although this place is a hole in the wall, low-cost, late night eatery there is no reason it can't be clean. The bathroom was not filled with unpleasant smells, stagnant pools of liquid, or streaks of a questionable nature. It was a tidy bathroom and when an establishment gets (what should be a very basic formality in operating a public establishment) correct, it automatically garners some of my respect. Cons: - EXPECTATIONS. Although this place is currently sitting at a 4/5 rating on yelp, you should not go in expecting culinary greatness. It is good for what it is, and that is (like I've said numerous times before) a late night, 5 beers in, quick place to grab a hearty meal. Overall: - Cancun Fiesta Fresh is no avant-garde Hispanic dining experience. Like reviews of past have stated, it is a one-stop, fill your stomach to the brim, burrito shop. If you'd just like some cheap food that isn't Chipotle, McDonalds, or FreeBirds and is open a little later, Cancun is a great option.

  • Alexis D.

My husband and I came here for lunch. The customer service was great off the bat. We ordered gold margaritas, street tacos, and the mini burrito plate. The food was excellent!! Fresh and much better than most Mexican restaurants that taste like the food was microwaved on the plate. Prices were definitely reasonable as well. I have to say I was hesitant to go in when we pulled up but we are both so glad we did! We will be returning in the near future!

  • Steven J.

I ordered delivery for myself and three coworkers. As underwhelmed as I was by the food my biggest issue was that they wouldn't allow separate checks. I guess they would rather the delivery boy make four trips to the same place than allow us to pay separately. I decided I'd let that slide once and see if the food was worth putting up with their stupid rules. That was a mistake. There's nothing special about the food here. It's just about mediocre or less than. While the meat in my asada tacos was very dry and overcooked it was fairly tasteless as well. The corn tortillas were of decent quality but too light and small. I feel like they should be using at least two per taco as I was unable to get halfway through one before the whole thing collapsed. My horchata drink was the only good part of the meal. The marginal sanitary conditions others have mentioned and the lack of anything fresh means I won't be ordering from this place again and I won't recommend them either.

I've been a fan of Cancun for several years and always recommended it to other dog people. But now I'll just give everyone a warning to stay away. As soon as they realized I had a dog waiting for me outside they became very unwelcoming. I was so annoyed that I walked off and left $8.50 in food. Their outside setting used to be a great place to stop to eat on a dog walk. It's not now.

I discovered the street taco ridiculously late in life. Not until I was 26 and living in Chicago (where the tacos are touched by God) did I ever consume an authentic street taco. But once I had my first taste, I was hooked. Unfortunately, the decision to move back to Kansas City was also the decision to move away from the numerous taquerias that I had come to know and love. ***Side note- If you are ever in Chicago, go to Erick's Tacos on the corner of Damen and Lawrence. I was very lucky to have lived in the same neighborhood as this gem.*** Anyway, after the big move back, I began the hunt for my new Erick's Tacos. Thanks to Yelp I found CFF. I didn't take the initiative to actually try it until one day when a few of my coworkers and I decided to order Mexican. I ordered the fish tacos, which aren't horrible by any means; they just didn't do it for me. A little too greasy and heavy for a fish taco. I have also tried the chicken and shredded beef street tacos. Both have always arrived a little cold, but a quick zap in the microwave will cure that. To be fair, I doubt I will ever find a taqueria to rival my beloved Erick's. Would I make the trip to Westport just to go there? Probably not. However, seeing as how they are just a few blocks away from work and they deliver, Cancun Fiesta Fresh will continue to be my go-to taco place when I get those weekday cravings.

This place should get 5 stars alone, just for delivering something besides pizza/chinese/subs.But I'll give them 4. I was drawn to this place because I seen their delivery car out near my house one day and decided to look them up. Glad I did. I ordered the Chicken Taco Salad, which surprisingly wasn't heavy or greasy. It was fresh, tasteful and plentiful. And most importantly CHEAP! Now i had to order something else ($10 del.min.) So i opted for a burrito since i needed lunch for the next day. Don't know how wise that is but I'm obviously a risk taker. I liked it and will try it again. In the great words of LaVar Burton "But you don't have to take my word for it" try it.

This place is a hole in the wall that makes you think you're somewhere off the beaten path in Mexico. It's very traditional Mexican, not that crap you find at certain places on the Blvd. My favorite are the pork tacos, so bueno! The beans are really good as well.

Very friendly & helpful staff, but the first thing I noticed upon entering was the smell of food mold. The cheese dip tasted like the stuff you get at football/basketball games. The pork on the street taco tasted like a freezer. Shrimp taco wasn't bad for the price.

This place sits in the old soul food restaurant, which was a great place, but for some reason it just didn't get off the ground. You've got to have some cajones and capital to get a place off the ground at this local, and mexican food is a pretty good bet. Of course, the late-nite-mexican-food-binge market was cornered by the place that opened near the sunfresh across from the Gold's gym in the strip mall, but this place seems to be giving them a run for their money. I had a fish taco, and it was pretty good. I ate it on the run, so if I had time to condiment-it-up, pause inbetween bites with some horchata, maybe squeeze a lime on it, I'd probably be in jamon heaven. So I'm reserving the final star for a more thorough review. But my hopes are up, and you should try it out. Some guy (professional food blogger?) gave a pretty extensive review, yelp worthy, imho: kclunchspots.com/2007/11…

Man I love this place. The salsas do spoil me from anything I get at other KC mexican restaurants. I like their street tacos the best!!! The delivery was fast and convenient. To top it all off, the prices are low and the service is phenomenal.

Being from the El Lay /OC area where taco stands are ubiquitous and moving here on a temp basis required that we find a decent place for Street Tacos. The criteria for me is delicious, fresh, fast, and cheap. This place meets it all. We gave up fast food for the 2-taco plates. I don't know if it's family run but they have zero turnover in staff there, and they are always pleasant and fast. We go there multple X per week when we don't feel like cooking.

I think the best way to sum these tacos up was "OK". There are several other small family owned places in the KC area that blow these outta the water. The highlight of the trip was the fresh chips and surprisingly the mild salsa. The chips were fried just right and kept warm. The mild salsa was a little more of a vinegar-based salsa and when mixed with the extra hot made a great combination. I had the street tacos (2 Carnitas and 2 Adobada). The tortillas were pretty average and the meat was a bit salty for my taste. I'd give it another try just to see if it was an off day.

Man, I reluctantly give this place 3 stars, I really want to give it 1, except this has probably been the best burrito I've had since arriving here. Except, it was so small! and chips weren't included! Are you kidding me? I went for lunch, and despite having a lunch special that was for $6, my veggie burrito came to $5.50, slightly bigger than my fist (which I'm pretty small), and no chips. The special was a normal size burrito (with meat!), chips, drink and slaw salad. Fair? I think not... When I brought this up to the girl behind the counter, she just stared at me, and said chips were extra. Sigh...I hate to keep comparing KC to San Francisco (there's really no comparison, sorry) but any tacqueria in the Mission (and they're on any corner, its like Starbucks), this is considered standard. So, my advice, get the lunch special--and if you're vegetarian, just ask for it without meat. Then maybe, maybe, you'll get a deal...

Taco Tuesday went south! I love coming into this place on Tuesday for their $1 tacos but the last two times I have been in they have really been SKIMPY on the meat and chicken! Can you please fix this ASAP!!!

Uninspired attempt at Mexican food. Frijoles taste like they came out of a can. The beef taste like it seasoned with a taco mix envelope. Are they even trying in there? Dining area: great if you're into plastic chairs and no atmosphere. The good news: if you're out late, only have $5 in your pocket and would eat just about anything, regardless of how it tastes - this your place.

I got this delivered. It is gonna be cold if you get it delivered so i would ask for the sour cream on the side as oppose to them putting it on it. It is average mex and I was gonna give it 2 stars however being that it is so cheap- you shouldnt expect the best food anyway. I dont think I will order it again tho.

As a former resident of Mexico City for 10 + years they have some of the best "street tacos" in town and their Carnitas are simply - Excellente!

This place is pretty good fast Mexican ...I order a cheese quesadilla with chips and salsa and a side of beans. Very fast service and not over priced. It is small for eating in but not bad. I would go back.

  • Tim M.

Doubt we return.

hmm...not sure if we came on an off night but the food quality was low. small friendly family joint located in a warehouse vibe building. fish tacos were very fishy, over fried/dry, and chewy carne asada tacos were rubbery, over cooked, and not fresh margaritas were strong and refreshing Ehhhhhh

  • Drew G.

My husband and I came here for lunch. The customer service was great off the bat. We ordered gold margaritas, street tacos, and the mini burrito plate. The food was excellent!! Fresh and much better than most Mexican restaurants that taste like the food was microwaved on the plate. Prices were definitely reasonable as well. I have to say I was hesitant to go in when we pulled up but we are both so glad we did! We will be returning in the near future!

I am giving this 5 stars, because I've been searching for a decent taco for two years (since I moved from Austin). In Austin, they'd be a 3 or 4 at the most. Lingua tacos are fantastic and only 1.75.

BUT THEY STILL DON'T DELIVER TO THE RIVER MARKET!!!!! grrr

One of the best spots in town. Fantastic staff, food, and sauce. The adovada is the best thing on the menu meat wise by far. Taco Tuesday are standard tacos but very good. The sauce is great. The very hot is great, but amateurs beware.

Try the carnitas street tacos! I had the carne asada, and fish tacos, but the carnitas were far better.

Good spot for a quick street taco or three. Don't like that they charge for chips though.

Tried the street tacos with Pollo, Asada, and Carnitas. The meat was very dry and tasteless. Needs a dynamic sauce to pep it up.

I was extremely underwhelmed. The chicken in my burrito was not flavorful at all. I have had a decent burrito here before. None of the ingredients were really outstanding. I'll take BurritoBros over this place any day.

  • Jason G.

    (5)
  • Kelly P.

The tacos didn't taste very good, the chips were from a bag, the dining area was dirty, and I ended up having 'intestinal issues' later that day.

I love this place!! Their food is amazing, affordable and THEY DELIVER! This is always the first place that comes to mind when I'm stuck at the office all day and can't break away to grab lunch. The asada burrito is out of this world!

These tacos are so very tasty and yes, "fresh"! I've had better on the coast of course, but for KC it's pretty fabulous-ish!

Very friendly & helpful staff, but the first thing I noticed upon entering was the smell of food mold. The cheese dip tasted like the stuff you get at football/basketball games. The pork on the street taco tasted like a freezer. Shrimp taco wasn't bad for the price.

Great street tacos. Real Mexican food, not TexMex.

Fresh ingredients, good salsa, great prices, and authentic. My favorite is the marinated beef street taco.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
