Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great food. Fresh ingredients be prepared for a line if you go during lunch hour. I'd go again. Every thing was fresh and it's a relaxed feel.

This is the third time I have been here, and each time the portions get smaller. Tonight they were out of vegetables. When the arrived, barely cooked, the bowl isn't even full. Won't be back.

Wow what a hidden gem of Jeff City my nephew recommended Chipotle's said it was very good. I tried it out for the first time today on a beautiful Saturday for lunch. Having never been inside before I was greeted by a very helpful man behind the counter he explained how to order and even took time to explain the different meats and toppings. The basic idea is you pay for the meat everything else you want on the burrito (you can have it in a burrito, bowl or even a salad to go or eat in). He explained the meat is source locally and organic it ranges from chicken, to steak, beef, pork, barbecola. I ordered mine with steak great flavor and nicely spiced. I added their cilantro-lime rice, med spicy green salsa, cheese, guacamole, sour cream. I was surprised the flavor was great and not heavy believe it or not. It was a great size for me and I got full. They have about any topping you would want and you can make the burrito as spice or mild as YOU want it. That is a good thing YOU decide not like Taco Bell who decides for you. I had chips with the med green salsa on the side and the chips were salted just fine for me and had a hint of lime in the background taste. I was surprised not only by the food but the staff most fast food places the people who their don't want to be their and could care less if customers ate their or not. These men and women were just that men and women and very friendly to me and the customer who came in. Fast food places you bus your own table but in this case the staff member came and to me asked me if everything was ok to my liking and bussed my table for me. Above and beyond in my book. Jeff City and Columbia if you haven't been try Chipotle Mexican Grill out I know you will enjoy it.

I am a HUGE fan of Chipotle's food. I would eat it everyday if that were cost effective and socially acceptable. However, the service at this location has been on a decline recently... I get lunch here at least once a week. The past several weeks the line has been extremely long and slow moving. The line length wouldn't be a problem if they kept it moving. It seems as if they are training an all new staff. No one seems to be sure of what they are doing. Most days at least one of the meats is out when I get to the front of the line. That slows things down. Add to that the portion sizes are getting smaller. I got less than half a scoop of steak in my bowl today, but I was so hungry and worried about getting back to work so I didn't have it in me to complain. If it keeps up I'll definitely have to say something... Hopefully the new staff gets in a grove and things pick up, because like I said, the food is delicious!! I have tried all of the different options. Their steak is by far my favorite! And when they added a brow rice option I did a happy dance. The guacamole is pretty pricey, but if you love yourself you should treat yo' self :) Well worth it. Tips: If you get a bowl you can order the tortilla on the side. Also, if you order a veggie burrito/bowl the guacamole is free!!

I really like chipotle when you get a good burrito. The problem I always have is they short you on the meat every time. I was in late Sat night after working a show and thought it sounded good so my wife went in and ordered us a couple of burritos. When we got home I opened mine and started to eat it sure enough a bunch of beans and rice so i opened up and could hardly find the meat. I wished they would measure the meat so you got the same each time. They just tong a bit and throw it in if there isn't very much and you as about it, they ask if you want to pay more. I don't seem to have this problem at other Chipotle's just the one by my house in jefferson city, It is always hit or miss. and lately it has been more of a miss. Its too bad because the food is good just not ever the same, more often than not it is short on meat.

Thank you, Chipotle, for filling my ravenous self up with your yummy chicken bowl goodness. The two guys who were in here on Sunday afternoon were in great moods, and super friendly. Food was yummy as always. Easy to get on and off the freeway and come here, on the drive home from the lake :).

When they closed Back Yard Burger I was disappointed; however, when I was back in Jeff City and saw that they had opened a Chipotle I was very happy. Some of my friends bitch about Chipotle and how their chips suck and this-or-that but I am a big fan. I love that their meat is of top quality and that you get a fairly nice portion for the price. Last year they didn't lower prices they just cut-back on the portion size. In fairness to this location that was a restaurant wide thing, not just here. I love their Carnitas and Chicken. My friends like the vegan bowl. Their guacamole is good for a chain too. I don't think their chips are the best but it still kicks the shit out of Taco Bell. (not REAL Mexican food, just FYI) But, when you are shit-face drunk at 0100 in the morning I guess your taste buds aren't too discerning and then again, Chipotle isn't open at that hour. :(

when im in jeff city i always hit this place up for a good cheap eat. if you havnt been here imagine subway making burritos. they have a line where you pick your shell or bowl etc, meat such as steak chicken bbq etc, then rice, beans, vegie's, salsa's, cheeses, and guamole which costs extra. it seems i always have to ask for onions since i never see any ready. i usually pay 6 bucks for a burrito with the extras and a soda but i get 50% military discount : ). the burrito is pretty good and its the size of a baby so i get stuffed! great deal but i last time it seemed they went heavy on rice and beans so i dont get both usually. i recommend you try it if you havnt been here before!
